Super What? Let’s Talk About Superfoods for Skin
“Superfoods” aren’t just for eating. They can have benefits for your skin, too. Generally speaking, superfoods in skincare are items that provide a healthy dose of antioxidants, are nutrient-dense, provide hydration, & fight environmental irritants. Common superfoods included in skincare are berries, healthy fats (like avocado & olive oil), honey, green tea, greens (like kale), and fruits (like papaya & pomegranate). I personally love the superfood trend - there’s nothing I dislike! My super dry skin loves the added moisture & nourishment. Here are some items in my collection that feature superfoods: YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Superfood Antioxidant Cleanser
Skin brightening serums
Dullness & uneven texture cleansers

Is Farmacy Really Farm Fresh?? 🌾
Me: dry-combo, currently acne prone, sensitive or very sensitive For my first dive into Farmacy products, I purchased the FARMACY - Farmer's Market Kit so that I could try a variety of their bestsellers. Overall, a good tester kit for your money with adequately sized samples! (Much bigger than the Glow Recipe sample sizes.) From favorite to least favorite: FARMACY - Green Clean Makeup Meltaway Cleansing Balm This was my first ever cleansing balm and I fell in love 😍 Your skin feels so smooth and moisturized afterwards. As a dry skin person I often used this as a single cleanse and didn’t notice any breakouts. I knocked off a star because it contains fragrance.... but actually I LOVE the smell... I just worry about my sensitive skin. The next balm I’m trying out is the GOOD MOLECULES - Instant Cleansing Balm FARMACY - Daily Greens Oil-Free Gel Moisturizer with Moringa and Papaya This was a nice lightweight moisturizer. I didn’t like the smell quite as much as the balm but it was fine. It did leave a bit of a shiny sticky residue for me but that went away when i added oil on top. Overall, not enough moisture for my skin right now, but I could see myself loving it in the summer! The next lightweight moisturizer I am trying is the CeraVe - PM Facial Moisturizing Lotion FARMACY - Honey Potion Renewing Antioxidant Hydration Mask I wanted to love this one, and about half the time I loved it, but about half the time I HATED it. When it was good, it made my skin feel so smooth, hydrated, and brightened. When it was bad, it BURNED my skin, horribly at times. I guess it depends on how my skin barrier is doing? Probably not a repurchase since it was so unpredictable on my sensitive skin. I love honey and would love to hear thoughts on other honey masks to try! FARMACY - Very Cherry Bright 15% Clean Vitamin C Serum with Acerola Cherry My least favorite of the group, this one was just too sticky for me. I also didnt like the smell... it was almost sour smelling? Idk, just not for me. I’m now trying the Mad Hippie - Vitamin C Serumfor my next vitamin C product. I also now purchased FARMACY - Cheer Up Brightening Vitamin C Eye Cream with Acerola Cherry and it is too soon for a full review but right now I am liking it a lot! It is not sticky, and does not have the funny smell of the serum. What do you guys think?? What Farmacy products should I try next? I’m eyeing the FARMACY - Honey Drop Lightweight Moisturizeror the FARMACY - Honey Halo Ultra-hydrating Ceramide Moisturizerand the FARMACY - Honeymoon Glow Serumand maybe the FARMACY - Whipped Greens: Oil-Free Foaming Cleanser With Moringa and Papaya!! Let me know what you think!
Honey Honey 🍯
Want to wake up glowing and ready to show off your fresh face? Then look no further than FARMACY - Honeymoon Glow Serum This product is a resurfacing night serum with glycolic acid , AHA’s, and BHA’s. This 3 in 1 product provides the following benefits: “Refines pores. BHA from willow bark, a natural source of salicylic acid, helps visibly diminish pore size. Gently exfoliates. Flower acids from hibiscus extract help exfoliate and clarify skin. Perfect for all skin types. Hyaluronic acid, along with our proprietary honey blend, deliver intense yet gentle hydration to ensure skin is never dry or over-stripped. I use this no more than every other night. I have a plethora of serums, so I like to rotate them. And I don’t like to use an exfoliant everyday, even if it is a gentle one like this. Make sure to be generous with your moisturizer following this, and maybe opt for one that’s more hydrating. I love my GLOW RECIPE - Banana Soufflé Moisture Cream however, I am pressed on Farmacy’s honey line, so I think I will be purchasing FARMACY - Honey Halo Ultra-hydrating Ceramide Moisturizerfor night time use. This picture is no makeup, no filter, just a natural radiance thanks to this HG serum. ✨🍯 🤩🌙

Chemical vs. Physical Exfoliants
Why exfoliate? The dead skin cells on your face dull your complexion, clog your pores, and cause breakouts—and sloughing them away is the first step to brighter and smoother skin. Exfoliating is basically a part of the basic skincare regimen. The most common exfoliating products are topical scrubs—physical exfoliants. But if you are feeling more serious than ever about your skincare regimen, then consider switching over to a chemical exfoliant. These work much deeper and far more effectively than a superficial scrub. Some of my favorite physical and chemical Exfoliants are: PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliator The Ordinary - Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution PETER THOMAS ROTH - Peptide 21 Amino Acid Exfoliating Peel Pads GOOD MOLECULES - Pineapple Exfoliating Powder TATCHA - The Rice Polish Foaming Enzyme Powder pixi - Peel & Polish Let me know your fav exfoliant in the comments. Would love to know!
Youth to the People dreams ☁️🌈
Me: DRY skin in winter (combo in summer), very sensitive/reactive/allergic, currently acne prone, also have a nose that is very picky about scents Onto my next bunch of brand minis, I tried the YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - With Pride Minis Kit Overall excellent kit for the price, all good products worth trying, and generously sized minis! Least Favorite: YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Yerba Mate Resurfacing Energy Facial This one was just kind of anticlimactic for me. It smelled nice, it worked fine, it didn’t bother my skin, but I also didnt see much of a difference? Overall good physical exfoliator, but maybe physical exfoliators just arent for me. The next physical exfoliant I’m trying is the GOOD MOLECULES - Pineapple Exfoliating Powder Second Place: YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Superfood Antioxidant Cleanser I liked this cleanser. As a dry skin person I was SURE this would be too stripping, but actually it wasnt too bad! I am definitely more of a creamy cleanser person, but I can see myself loving this in summer. I like the ingredients, and i like the green juice smell. Overall ~4.5 stars. My next “green juice” cleanser to try is the Krave - Matcha Hemp Hydrating Cleanser The Absolute Best 😍😍😍: YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Superberry Hydrate + Glow Dream Mask literally a dream. Hydrated and glowy and smooth and so much more. I’m realizing that it is quite hard to get both hydrated AND glowing. This smells delicious and makes my face feel like a baby’s butt in the morning. Absolutely 10 stars all around. I’m trying out another vitamin c sleeping mask (KORRES - Wild Rose Vitamin C Brightening Sleeping Facial) but honestly, I dont even know why because i should just take the plunge and buy the jumbo size of this dream mask ☁️🌈 How do you feel about YTTP? I’m curious to try the moisturizers. I love the green smell but I’m guessing the superfood air whip moisturizer will be too light for me. Any dry folks who have tried both? Also need to try the superberry oil, especially if it smells like the mask! Also, which of their two eye creams would you recommend trying? Leave it in the comments!

YTTP Superfood Antioxidant Cleanser
YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Superfood Antioxidant Cleanser This stuff is so great! I’ve been breaking out lately and my regular oil cleansers just didn’t cut it. I think my skin might just be purging because it wasn’t used to so much oil but who knows. But this definitely helped get rid of a lot of those breakouts. This is also so gentle it didn’t strip my skin which honestly shocked me because a lot of “gentle” cleansers absolutely kill my skin. But this is super! I read from someone’s review on here that this is an oil based cleanser according to the YTTP website but I couldn’t find out if that was true or not 🤷🏻♀️
Current morning & night routine ☀️🌙
Hey beauties! I wanted to share my current skin routine for morning & night, since I've updated it with some new products that I'm enjoying and it's been working for me. Hope it works for you too! :) ☀️Morning: 1. I typically don't wash my face since all I did was sleep and I do this routine pretty soon after I wake up. So the first step is really to use almost a whole pump of OLE HENRIKSEN - Banana Bright Vitamin C Serum on my whole face 2. Then I use about a dime sized amount of myKiehl's - Ultra Facial Cream 3. Glossier. - Balm Dotcom goes on my lips - I prefer either fig, birthday, berry or coconut 4. Volia! That's easy :) 🌙Evening: 1. Cleanse my face in the shower using a half pump of YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Superfood Antioxidant Cleanser 2. After my shower, I sometimes use my facial roller (it's SEPHORA COLLECTION - Rose Quartz Facial Rollerand Idk what to rate it as since it's the only one I have) 3. Next is the serum - depending on what's the issue; if it's acne:Glossier. - Solution Exfoliating Skin Perfector, redness and/or irritation: Glossier. - Super Pure Niacinamide + Zinc Serum, or just feels ok / needs a little something to smooth out or be more hydrated: TATCHA - The Dewy Serum Resurfacing and Plumping Treatment 4. If I want to use an eye cream, I go with the Ole Henriksen banana bright eye creme from this set: OLE HENRIKSEN - Let's Get Luminous Brightening Essentials Set it's a half size one and the set is only $40 5. Glossier. - Balm Dotcom again because it's hydrating enough for me (yes my lips do get dry since they're a little chapped when I wake up, but I don't think I necessarily need a lip mask) 6. Of course, the last step is a facial spray, and it's always my Avène - Thermal Spring Water Spraybc I can't live without it. In case you're curious, the total price for my routine is $363!! (that includes all the products I mentioned) 🤯
My Cuticle Care Picks + Tips
Admittedly I haven’t taken care of my cuticles much over the last few years. They weren’t “bad” but I know I should’ve given them some TLC more often. Cuticle care is vital to overall nail health. The cuticle treatment I was previously using is from DECO MIAMI - Lemon Blossom Cuticle Oil It has a strong lemon scent and feels so greasy on my fingers. I can’t pick up my phone or type on my computer without leaving grease spots behind - yuck! I didn’t use it consistently enough to know if it worked because I didn’t like the effects, so I can’t speak to effectiveness. It’s easy to apply but tbh I don’t recommend it. I’m going to de-clutter it. $12 on brand’s website. I recently did a Cherie post about 2 Nails Inc. products that saved my nails. One of them is the .INC. - Superfood Nail and Cuticle Repair Oil I like this oil because it sinks in quickly & doesn’t leave my hands feeling greasy/like I can’t touch anything for a while. I consistently use this 5+ days per week and it really has helped my nails and cuticles to look & feel stronger. The dropper makes it easy to control the product. I’ve noticed that I get hangnails less frequently. Hangnails are the result of torn skin near your cuticles. They can be painful, and if picked at, can lead to infection. Tip: when I do get a hangnail, I carefully clip it as close to its base with a nail clipper. I much prefer the Nails Inc oil to the Deco Miami! I included a before & after of applying this product. See how my fingers don’t look greasy? $15 on brand’s website. Tip: Other considerations to keep in mind for cuticle care are using gentle hand soaps & hand lotion. If your hands are constantly dry, your cuticles are likely dry, too. When your cuticles are dry they are prone to tearing/damage. Cuticles serve as the barrier between your skin, nails, and new nail growth. When cuticles are damaged, your nails are more susceptible to damage. In that same vain, try to avoid cutting your cuticles so as not to cause damage. Since we’re in the midst of a pandemic, not using hand sanitizer isn’t really an option, so opt for ones with moisturizing formulas to reduce the drying effects. At work we have some from Hempz, which I like, but don’t personally own (hence no photo). Moisturize your hands whenever you can! I sometimes use a drop or two of cocokind - Watermelon Hemp Oil in some unscented lotion to give an extra boost to my hands (oil was PR from brand). Hemp oil is very nourishing without being too heavy. $14 on brand’s website. All brands mentioned are cruelty-free and have vegan options. Nails Inc & Deco Miami are non-toxic nail brands with mid-range prices ($10-15/polish/treatment. The Cocokind oil is great, but you can also use any nourishing oil you have at home, like marula or jojoba, to add into hand lotion for an extra boost! #CheriePartner
Changing Up My Skincare Routine for Fall
About my skin: dryyyyy, often flaky near/on nose and forehead, not usually sensitive Summer is coming to an end on 9/21, so I’ll be making some changes to my summer skincare routine. I have dry skin year-round and battled stubborn dry patches a few times during the summer. My fall skincare incorporates more moisture and hydration, but not quite as heavy as I’ll need for winter. Moisturizer: Out: GHOST DEMOCRACY - Clean Lightweight Daily Face Moisturizer This is actually almost empty so I’ll finish it off. Lightweight and unscented, but still moisturizing enough for my dry skin in summer. Won’t cut it for colder months, but will repurchase in springtime. Gifted by the brand. In: YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Adaptogen Deep Moisture Cream with Ashwagandha + Reishi Expensive, but really nice. On the thicker side, but not too heavy for AM & PM use. My cap cracked so ignore the tape haha. Cherie sent me this (ty!) Toner: Out: PURITO - Centella Unscented Toner Great for combo & sensitive skin, but works fine for dry in summer. Watery texture and not particularly hydrating, but is soothing. PR from the brand. In: PAULA'S CHOICE - Resist Advanced Replenshing Toner So hydrating!! Has a milky texture. Definitely adds a boost to my skin. Fall & winter staple (and probably spring). Essence: I’m not currently using one, but in spring and winter I used the SATURDAY SKIN - Press Pause Beauty Essence and will use it again this fall. It feels more like a serum vs an essence (see texture photo). Feels so silky on my skin! I also purchased one from Cocokind but haven’t opened it yet, so stay tuned. Exfoliants: Out: OFRA - Fruit Acid Lotion Tbh I don’t like this. It smells so strongly of chemicals. It has citrus, lactic, and glycolic acids. It is a toner, not a lotion like the name implies. It does exfoliate okay but really hate the smell. Gifted by brand via Octoly. In: FARMACY - Honeymoon Glow Serum This is an awesome exfoliant for dry skin because it contains honey. It doesn’t leave my skin feeling overly exfoliated. I only use 1-2x/wk in colder months. Expensive but lasts a long time. Mine’s about 2/3 empty. Face Oil: Out: GOOD MOLECULES - Squalane Oil I’ve loved this for a while. It’s lightweight and nourishing. I used it a lot in summer when I had dry spots. In: cocokind - Watermelon Hemp Oil This is more heavy duty. It does smell herbaceous but it dissipates. Deeply nourishing and multipurpose (like on hands!). PR from the brand. Face Mist: I use the YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Adaptogen Soothe + Hydrate Activated Mist with Reishi + Ashwagandha whenever I need a hydration boost. I’ll be using this a lot in fall. 1/2 empty! It’s overpriced but nice. Anyone have a good suggestion for a hydrating cleanser?! Let me know. #CheriePartner
B R A N D S P O T L I G H T : FARMACY
Farmacy has been one of my favourite brands for the last two years. Over the years I have discolouration from my acne that i’ve picked at. (Dont lie I know we’ve all done it!!! LOL) I’ve used multiple products and yes I wear sunscreen daily and yes I re-apply throughout the day (shout out to coola) but nothing seemed to help lighten the discolouration.... Until very cherry bright!! Ive tried multiple vitamin C serums and I’m picky on texture. This guy goes on super light and doesn’t have a funky smell. I’ve also paired this up with the honeymoon glow which is an AHA resurfacing serum to speed up my skin cell turnover. Over time my scars have lightened and my skin looks brighter. My only regret was not taking before and after photos. I highly recommend this as the price isn’t as steep as most vitamin c serums. Try it out and let me know your thoughts! :) FARMACY - Green Clean Makeup Removing Cleansing Balm FARMACY - Cheer Up Brightening Vitamin C Eye Cream with Acerola Cherry FARMACY - Very Cherry Bright 15% Clean Vitamin C Serum with Acerola Cherry FARMACY - Honeymoon Glow Serum

Summertime Glow with Youth To The People
I’ve been acquiring a couple Youth To The People products and my sink is starting to look very fancy. I did previously review the Superfood cleanser but I’ll give a general review of it again. All of the products contain high quality ingredients from small batches. And Youth To The People is very ethical/vegan and cruelty free which I love! YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Superfood Antioxidant Cleanser A foaming cleanser that won’t strip your skin. Feels extremely refreshing, smells a little like spinach and herbs, doesn’t remove all of your makeup but is a perfect second step cleanser after oil cleansing. This has given me a much deeper clean than the CeraVe hydrating cleanser and I don’t think I’ll ever go back to it! I can justify the $36 price tag for the quality of this cleanser. 10/10 YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Superfood Firm and Brighten Vitamin C Serum This serum is pretty great! It’s very hydrating and the vitamin c is helping my skin glow more. It also contains citric and lactic acid which slightly exfoliate, but it is still safe to wear in the daytime. I love that there is no “hot dog water” vitamin c scent to this. I apply it to wet skin after cleansing and it soaks in beautifully. For $62, you get 1 oz, which isn’t much but this serum has really brightened my skin and I’ll continue using it. YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Superfood Air-Whip Moisture Cream I’m starting to like this moisturizer more. Originally I didn’t feel it moisturized enough but I was using it very sparingly. This is a gel like texture with the same scent as the cleanser. It makes skin feel cool and comforted and is awesome for the hot summer months. I apply this right after the serum. You get 2 oz of product for $48, which is pricy but this should last you all summer with daily use. YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Superberry Hydrate + Glow Oil A lightweight dry oil full of antioxidants from superfood sources like Goji berry and Maqui (the most antioxidant rich fruit in the world). It smells very lightly of berries and soaks into the skin quickly. The result is a gorgeous, healthy glow and very moisturized skin. I add this to my exfoliating serums like Drunk Elephant TLC serum and I use it at night before my Laneige Cica Sleeping Mask. The price is up there for sure at $44 for 1 oz but you don’t need much to see good results.

🌟I wanted to share with all you lovely babes a brand that I’ve been using for some time now & I’ve been loving Malie Organics. Their name Malie, means calm , serene and tranquil and they are headquartered in The Garden Island of Kauai, Malie. The foundation of all their products are natural non-toxic Hawaiian 🌺 botanicals that are formulated without parabens, sulfates, phthalates, petrochemicals, mineral oil, silicone, talc, or gluten. 🌟This is part of BotanyBeauty collection which is is absolutely stunning! All of their products are made with organically plant based ingredients including essential oils from flowers & herbs that provide us with so many amazing benefits for our skin. 🌟Cleansing Polish; With pineapple & papaya extracts this exfoliant is so gentle on the skin. It smells so natural & clean, which I love. The hibiscus petals, olive seeds & cranberry seeds help decongest the surface of the skin while brightening & evening skin tone. I have been loving this polish after I cleanse in the morning or night. 🌟Hydrosol Facial Tonic; this tonic smells so relaxing and calming. It’s a blend of Jasmin and rose waters. I usually spray this after I use the cleansing polish or throughout the day for a little refresher. It also helps with irritation or redness. 🌟Illuminating Serum; this light serum absorbs so beautifully into the skin. I use this after the tonic. Some amazing ingredients in this serum include; Jojoba Oil, Almond Oil, Avocado Oil, Argan Oil, Rose Hip Seed Oil, Jasmine Oil and Rose Oil.

Some mini reviews on this Memorial Day Monday! ▫️youthtothepeople Mint Superfood Air-Whip Moisture Cream: this is a great, lightweight moisturizer that I’ve been loving for my summer (extremely oily) skin. It’s enriched w/ kale, spinach, green tea & hyaluronic acid & smells SO good (clean 🥬 scent). My mini is almost empty & I’m wishing I had a restock! ▫️YTTP Superfood Cleanser: I’ve been through 2 minis of this cleanser-it smells so good (similar to the moisturizer) & leaves my skin feeling clean but not stripped. HOWEVER, my skin does require routine use of salicylic acid in a cleanser (or else I break out) so I can only incorporate this cleanser into my routine a few times/week (I took this mini w/ me on a trip last week & left behind my regular, full-size cleanser...& I had lots of blackheads by the end of the week). Soooo this cleanser probably works best for non-acne-prone skin ▫️peterthomasroth Water Drench Hyaluronic Cloud Serum: this is a hydrating, hyaluronic acid-containing serum that’s very lightweight & similar to b-hydra (a tad thicker than b hydra but still lightweight enough to wear under makeup). I add this to my AM routine when my skin is in need of a little bit more hydration 👌🏻 ▫️Laneige Water Sleeping Mask: this overnight, hydrating mask smells really good & it really does leave my skin plump & glowy in the mornings... but unfortunately it clogs my pores b/c I always start to notice small bumps abt 2 days after using it. So many people rave about it though so if your skin doesn’t get congested easily, you might love it too! ▫️Tatcha Violet-C Radiance Mask: this is my 2nd mini of this mask to finish & I do notice a pretty “glow” after using it, but after trying A LOT of masks over the past few months, I wouldn’t say this is a life-changer for my skin. I still think it’s a good product (& the bright purple color is so fun 🤗) but I have others that I prefer ▫️drlancerrx Radiance Awakening Mask: another brightening mask that I’ve been testing recently-it’s an overnight mask that contains vitamin C & niacinamide (among other ingredients) to help brighten skin.
LANCER-Radiance Awakening Mask Intense
Best Discovery of 2020!
This brand is best discovery of 2020 for me! How? I’ll tell you. 2020 has been really tough year for all of us, it has caused so much stress. Stress plus not having a healthy diet( I binge on chips a lot) ain’t doing good to my skin, my skin gets texture and had become dull because of all of it. I started using Allies of skin products 2 months back, I have been using their Mandelic Acid Serum & Triple Hyaluronic Acid Serum which I have reviewed previously and their Silk Amino hydrating cleanser & Peptides and Antioxidants moisture which I’ll be reviewing today. 𝘗𝘦𝘱𝘵𝘪𝘥𝘦𝘴 & 𝘈𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘹𝘪𝘥𝘢𝘯𝘵𝘴 𝘍𝘪𝘳𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘋𝘢𝘪𝘭𝘺 𝘛𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘵𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵: This is a daily moisturising treatment to firm and repair damaged skin. It is packed with powerhouse ingredients such as multiple peptides, 7 Brighteners, 9 Antioxidants, 16.5% Repair Complex, this helps stimulate collagen production, restores skin barrier & protects against environmental stressors. I use it in my morning routine after Rose water or after vit C serum; followed by SPF. It’s perfect for my dry skin and don’t feel need to add additional layer of oil or moisturiser over it. The texture is lightweight and nourishes skin without making it greasy. This one is about to get over & it would be a really sad empty! I love this moisturiser so much, I wish it wasn’t so expensive. I’ll repurchase it during sale definitely! Allies of Skin - Peptides & Antioxidants Firming Daily Treatment 𝘔𝘰𝘭𝘦𝘤𝘶𝘭𝘢𝘳 𝘚𝘪𝘭𝘬 𝘈𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘰 𝘏𝘺𝘥𝘳𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘊𝘭𝘦𝘢𝘯𝘴𝘦𝘳: This is a gentle foaming cleanser. It starts pf as a gel but foams once you add water. It’s almost like a double cleanse in one bottle. It has so many amazing ingredients like Silk Amino Acid, Organic Safflower Oil, Ethylated L-ascorbic Acid, Licorice Root Extract & Lactic Acid which is gentler than most AHAs, which helps brighten and hydrate dry, dull skin. It feels so luxurious and nourishing at the same time. It leaves my skin silky soft, supple and brighter. Allies of Skin - Molecular Silk Amino Hydrating Cleanser
