How I “Plop”/Air Dry My Wavy/Curly Hair w/ pics!
Do you have naturally curly or wavy hair? What about cults/waves that you've been taming with heat tools for years? Want to improve your curl/wave pattern over time? This is for you! About my hair: thick, long, some layers, curly/wavy,dry What you'll need: •100% cotton t-shirt •Leave-in conditioner •Curl cream, gel, mousse, etc (whatever you prefer) •Patience, because this takes a while! I've included a numbered pictorial so you can follow along, but please note that each numerical label isn't necessarily its own step. Some are just additional angles. This method is part of the “curl girl” method and is called “plopping ". "Plopping" with cotton gently removes moisture while reducing frizz and helping natural patterns look more defined. Steps: 1. Start with freshly washed hair. Squeeze your hair with your towel a few times until it's no longer dripping wet. No more towel after this. 2. Scrunch hair with your cotton t-shirt for about 15-20 seconds. 3. Use your fingers to apply a leave-in conditioner, or if your leave-in is a spray, just spray it and finger comb through. 4. Scrunch hair with t-shirt again. Your hair should no longer be super wet. 5. Apply your preferred curl or wave product and make sure to disperse throughout your hair starting with your ends. 6. Use your hands to scrunch. Flip head upside down and continue to scrunch. 7. Lay your t-shirt on a flat, clean surface (I use my bed). The neck should face towards you. 8. Gather all of your hair with your head up aside down as if making a ponytail and place in the center of the t-shirt. 9. Fold the bottom portion of the t-shirt onto itself, then take that folded section up over your hair towards your neck. Your forehead should be touching the neck of the t-shirt. 10. Use 1 hand to hold the shirt in place while taking each sleeve and tying them together. You will need to switch your hands during this step. The tie should sit low on your head. 11. Leave hair in shirt 20-30 min (depending on hair thickness). 12. Take hair out of shirt, flip over, part with fingers or comb (if desired, but don't comb anything else!!), and air dry. My hair takes about 3-4 hours to fully dry post-"plop". If you want to use a hair oil, use it before wrapping your hair. Products I used: KRISTIN ESS - Ultra Hydrating Curl Leave-In Cream

Coconut oils for hair
My hair: Thick, wavy, curl, frizzy, dry, unruly, has a mind of its own What I look for: Smoothing, definition, lightweight hold, nourishing I try not to have a lot of hair products open all at once, but ya know 💁🏻♀️ These are two products I have open and alternate using. The IGK - Rich Kid Coconut Oil Gel has been a favorite of mine for a long time, and the KRISTIN ESS - Hair Hydrating Curl Defining Crème has been in my collection for a couple months. I like each of them for slightly different reasons. The IGK rich kid is a gel cream. Thanks to coconut oil and aloe vera, when you dispense the product and rub between your hands, the product melts down and it’s easy to work into towel-dried hair. It is excellent for adding piecey texture and definition to waves and curls, while also nourishing the hair a bit. Due to its texture, this would probably even work with straight hair to give a beachy look. Now, there’s something wrong with the one I purchased (from Ulta). It’s got a very off-putting scent that is not normal for this product. I’ve gone through a mini and several sample packets, so I know this for sure. Nevertheless I decided to keep this bottle because it would be wasteful to return, and the product itself works just fine. It *should* have a light, fresh scent. Just a quick PSA because I noticed some others in the reviews on Ulta mention a bad smell. I love that this is lightweight, provides a bit of hold, and I need very little product, so this bottle will last for a longggg time. $29 for 5oz or $15 for 1.7oz. Worth it and will repurchase. The Kristin Ess curl creme is a creamy, slightly thicker texture. It has a lovely scent (the KE “signature scent”) that is fresh and light, but not overpowering. It adds a little bit of weight to my hair and that helps provide definition to my waves/curls. However, by no means do I think this cream is heavy. It doesn’t provide any hold, so if that’s what you’re looking for I would go with the IGK. This cream makes my hair feel softer and less frizzy than the IGK. I do need more of this product, but at $14 for 6.7oz, this bottle will still last a while and it’s affordable, so I would repurchase. By the way, I follow the “curly girl method” involves “plopping” and air drying. I have used both of these products and diffused my hair in a pinch, and they work great for that too. #CherieCreator
Curly hair Dreams ✨
I have been recently using these two from Kristin Ess, It always caught my attention when I passed by the hair products at Target so I decided to give it a go on these two styling products! KRISTIN ESS - Ultra Hydrating Curl Leave-In Cream This I usually use to untangle my hair before I style it. It’s a spray that helps to loosen your curls so they can look more hydrated and natural. When the product said cream I expected a literal cream. But this is more of a milky texture. I love the smell, it’s very floral and not too strong!! KRISTIN ESS - Weightless Shine Curl Defining Jelly What I love most about this product is that it hold my curls but it doesn’t make it extremely hard to move. It styles beautifully! It’s a clear gel and it really does what it says! My hair always looks so bouncy and healthy! - These two are amazing! They also have another cream which I’m really excited to try! I feel like for the quality you’re getting, these are pretty affordable! They have for every hair type as well! And the packaging are so cute!
Overnight Waves Tutorial
I am allllll about overnight hair styles. Gone are the days where I regularly use heat tools to style my hair. Every once in a while I’ll do it, but for everyday I can’t be bothered! Heatless styles are also great for reducing heat damage and breakage. This is a tutorial for my preferred overnight waves using two twists. This style works best for wavy and straight hair types. About my hair: thick, naturally wavy/curly, frizzy, dry What you’ll need: -comb -small elastic bands -leave-in spray -styling cream/gel/mousse -finishing spray/hairspray Steps: 1. Start with damp hair. 2. Apply leave-in conditioner and disperse through your hair with a comb or fingers. 3. Apply your preferred styling product(s). This will help your hair hold the style’s shape. 4. Either air dry your hair or wrap in a towel for about 15-30 min (less if your hair is fine, more if your hair is thick. I do about 30 min) 5. Take hair out of towel (if using) and comb it. 6. Part hair in desired area in front and part about equally down the back. 7. Work with one side at a time. Take a small section of hair at the front of your head, and another section from the back of your head. 8. Twist the pieces together like a rope braid. I start just above my ears. 9. Add in a section of hair from the front and from the back to continue the twist. 10. Continue adding hair and twisting down. Secure with an elastic. 11. Repeat on other side. 12. Go to bed! Let this style sit for 8-10 hours. The longer the better, especially if you have thick hair. 13. In the AM, remove your twists and gently shake your hair near the roots to loosen waves. 14. Spray hair with your preferred finishing spray/hairspray. Products I used: KRISTIN ESS - Ultra Hydrating Curl Leave-In Cream KRISTIN ESS - Hair Hydrating Curl Defining Crème R+Co - FOIL Frizz + Static Control Spray Notes: You can twist your twists around each other into buns or clip them on top of your head if the twists will bother you when you’re sleeping! You can modify this style by starting father or lower on your head, or doing two 3-strand braids. #CheriePartner
Dealing with curly, thick, dry hair...
Hi friends! I have had thick, curly, dry hair for my whole life. Bleaching it definitely added to the dryness and frizziness! Because my hair is so dry, I NEVER use hot tools on it, nor do I ever blow dry. Air drying is key for this hair type—especially if you have a wall of dense, thick hair like me! When air drying, first I’ll let my hair chill after the shower for about an hour (towel drying is NOT a thing with thick hair lmaooo) so my roots are less damp but my ends are still soaked. Then, I’ll take a quarter sized amount of a curl styling cream (today I’m using the Briogeo - Curl Charisma Rice Amino + Avocado Leave–In Defining Cream — it is so good for my curls and inexpensive) and finger comb it through my hair. This prevents tangles and knots from forming. Then, to make sure the product is evenly dispersed i will wet my hands with water and finger comb back through. To keep my hair out of my face while it’s air drying, I’ll usually clip or pin it back with bobby pins. 24 hours later through the humidity my hair is less frizzy than it should be, but the leave in curl cream is still in there so you can refresh your curls by finger combing again with wet hands! This cream lets me have my hair styled like this for the whole week before I wash again! What’s your main tip for thick, frizzy, curly hair?

At Home Blow Dry + Bouncy Curls
NUME - Classic Curling Wand 1'' it's a 10 haircare - Blow Dry Miracle Glossing Leave-in HASK - Argan Oil Repairing Shine Oil #CheriePartner Even though salons are opening up, I thought I would share my go-to at home hair styling routine. In the second slide, I have two of my favorite hair products to use for blow drying. First, I use the Hask Argan Oil in the ends of my hair. It helps dry my hair faster and leaves a silky shine. I also use the It’s a 10 Miracle Blow Dry Leave-in. This is a heat protectant and helps control frizz when blow drying. I love these two together! Separate hair and blow dry normally. After my hair is dry, I love using the Nume 1 inch wand to curl my hair. This particular wand is just big enough to make super natural and bouncy curls. I use around 1 inch sections of my hair and curl away from my face. After the curls are cool, I shake them all out with my fingers to appear even more natural. I love how these curls naturally fall throughout the day and look so effortless. This whole process takes around 30 minutes for me. It’s super worth it in my opinion for this bouncy voluminous look!

My hair story ( journey )
Hi guys so I wanted to tell you about my hair journey and when I made a big change and dyed my hair brown 6 years ago in the before picture... So about 6 years ago I dyed my hair brown and ever since I was little I was a natural dirty blonde and my hair would get super light in the summer time because I’m always out in the sun.. So from having blonde hair my whole life I thought I would go darker and don’t get me wrong I loved being blonde and it’s such a beautiful color but brown is beautiful as well and I didn’t think how the journey would go. It’s so much to maintain I couldn’t believe how many salons I had to go to , to get my hair back to blonde and the way I wanted it . my hair was turning orange on the top of my roots cause my natural roots were coming in and I had to strip my hair from the color a couple times bc I went to a salon that I didn’t have the best hair experience with and while the process of bleaching and striping my hair my scalp was on fire... I loved my hair brown for a while but when my natural color starting to come back in , my hair was getting brassy But from all of that I went to a salon and the sweet lady thought I’d start from scratch with a ombré bc my natural hair color was pretty much an ombré and I had so much hair long thick ish hair that would always get so knotted and while I was pregnant almost 2 years ago my hair turned dark light brown witch is crazy how my hair got kinda dark during that time so after I had my daughter I went to the salon to get my blonde back and I finally got it and now I feel so comfortable and fresh with my color I even got my hair cut shorter witch I do love long hair but short definitely suits my face shape for a round / heart face shape and it’s so much healthier than it has ever been . I haven’t had it this healthy since before I died my hair very dark!!! I take care of my hair with the following hair care products I’ve been posing on my recent post so if your interested in a nice protective and repairing leave - in conditioner is SheaMoisture - Manuka Honey & Yogurt Hydrate + Repair Multi-Action Leave-In I love that stuff and before adding heat to your hair I use the TRESemmé - Thermal Creations Heat Tamer Leave In Spray to my damp hair 😊 Also thank you so much for all the support and cheers you guys leave me it’s so much appreciated and I love sharing all my favorite products with you guys ❤️ #cheriepartner

The right way to get more VOLUME in your curly hair is...
Can you tell the difference from the pic? A lot of us really work hard to get our curls to live closer to the defined side of the spectrum. Maybe we’re scarred from so many years of fluffy frizzy curls but no one taught us what to do with our hair correctly. The only thing that’s sacrificed when your curls are ultra defined is VOLUME. So many curly girls go to the salon with requests of volume. And yes, you need layers to help achieve volume, but you also have to learn how to gently and effectively fluff your roots to encourage VOLUME. I realize that if you fluff your hair too much you could potentially wash all your definition down the drain but a little fluffing can make all the difference.
Sleek+Straight; Best Styles for Oval Face Shape
My face shape has always been a cross between oval & round; I have found that one of the most flattering styles for my shape is sleek and straight. Here’s the steps I take to achieve shiny, sleek, healthy looking hair that frames my face and helps to slim down the roundness👇🏻 My hair is naturally straight and is fine in texture. While my natural colour is blonde, it is also colour-treated (bleached) throughout. 1️⃣ I started with day-old, air-dried hair; first I sprayed in the eva·nyc - Mane Magic 10-in-1 Primer to protect my strands from the heat of my flat iron and prime it for styling. This spray is a very fine mist and works great to prep the hair for heat styling (my only con is that it’s very strongly perfume scented). 2️⃣ Next I ran my eva·nyc - Spectrum Far-Infrared Styling Iron through my hair, concentrating on the hair around my face to make sure it was evenly sleek and not frizzy. Personally, I only flat iron my hair from just above my ears down because I find if I flat iron the roots it leaves my hair too flat and without any volume. 3️⃣ Last, I misted on some of my KEVIN.MURPHY - Shimmer Me Blonde which is a shine-enhancing spray made for blondes, with violet-hued reflects to tone out brassiness (they have one for brunettes/redheads too!). I love this stuff, it feels nourishing but light and makes my hair shiny without being greasy. Honestly, it’s a super simple look but I always feel a little bit glam when I go for sleek + straight locks - it feels so timeless. Hope you enjoyed!!💁🏼♀️🤍

Curly Hairstyle Routine
For reference, I have type 3A curls and thin hair! This before picture is how my hair looks after going to the beach and after not washing it for 3 days. This is my routine for prepping my hair for any type of activity immediately after I wash it. I’ve already provided information on the shampoo and conditioner that I use, so be sure to check that post and the curly hair tips posts for further details that will help during the washing process. When I’m done with my hair washing, I proceed by adding the aussie - Miracle Curls with Coconut Oil Paraben Free Detangling Milk Treatment . For a more thorough review on that product, please take a look at my previous posts. Following this, I proceed to by brushing my hair with Wet brush - Original Detangler . This is a MUST is you have curly hair and want to avoid losing excess hair. Plus, it is SUPER CHEAP. The Intelliflex Bristles are firm yet soft and covered with SofTips. The bristles are firm enough to pull through the tangles, yet they’re soft enough not to get caught and rip through the hair. It has helped me reduce the amount of time when it comes to detangling and the amount of pain I used to go through. Just remember to always start from the tips and work your way to the top when brushing. I then proceed by wrapping my hair with a cotton t-shirt to help lock the moisture. Depending on how my day goes, I sometimes leave it longer, but generally I leave it on for 20-30 minutes. Then I proceed with the actual hairstyling using a diffuser. CONAIR - InfinitiPRO 1875 Watt AC Pro Hair Dryer Rose Gold Using this hair dryer has accelerated and simplified my hairstyle process! It is pretty affordable and has both ceramic and ionic technology. Ceramic technology is what releases non-damaging infrared heat to your hair, while ionic technology works by using electrons to break the water molecules and, thus, allows the hair to dry faster and more hydrated while reducing frizz. In addition to this, it has a cool setting AND cold setting, which are the ones that I use when I’m styling. DON’T DRY USING THE WARM OR HOT SETTINGS! While this hair dryer does a GREAT job at preventing damage with its technology, hair styling regularly with warm or hot settings diminish the levels of moisture that your hair is able to retain, so you wan’t to avoid that as much as possible. It also comes with a diffuser, so you don’t have to buy one. I finish by adding hairspray. aussie - Sun Touched Shine Hairspray I know many shy away from hairsprays for various reasons, but hear me out. I avoid at all costs mousse and gels, which tend to be much more harmful than hairsprays. Besides, this is ONE OF A KIND. It has UV PROTECTION, JOJOBA OIL, & SEA KELP. There’s no way that this harms your hair. Just avoid soaking your hair in it and you’ll see WONDERS! And VOILÁ! The results are clearly seen with the after picture!
