{Braided Style} Quick Side Braid

This quick style combines a Dutch braid and a regular 3-strand braid. It shouldn’t take more than 3 minutes start to finish! About my hair: thiiiiick, wavy/curly, long This style was done on day 3 hair. What you’ll need: -hair elastic (or 2 if your hair is thick) -comb -dry shampoo (if your hair is looking oily) or texture spray (if your hair is fine/needs some grit) -hairspray Steps: 1. Part hair in desired spot. I prefer a side part. 2. Comb hair. 3. If you’re working with days old hair, spray your roots and some lengths with dry shampoo. If your hair is freshly washed or fine, spray your lengths with texture spray for a little bit of grit to help your braid stay in place. 4. Take a small section of hair from the side of your part where you want the braid to start. 5. Cross the right strand underneath the middle strand. Do the same with the left. 6. Repeat step 5. 7. Pick up a small section of hair near the right strand and combine. Cross this section underneath the middle. 8. Repeat step 7 with the left strand. 9. Repeat steps 7-8 by adding small sections of hair to each side of the braid until you reach just below your ears. 10. Brush all of the hair from the non-braided side of your head towards the braided side by angling the hair around the back of your head. 11. Divide this section into 3. Let 1 section be a bit smaller than the other 2 because you will add in your braided front section to this. Goal is to have 3 evenly divided sections. 12. Braid the 3 sections together by crossing either the left or the right sections over or under the middle section. This is a regular braid, so it doesn’t matter which way! 13. Secure your braid with an elastic or 2. 14. {optional} Lightly pull on the edges of the braid close to your forehead (“pancaking”) to widen it. 15. Spray with hairspray. This style is super cute with scrunches or ribbons, too! I used: NOT YOUR MOTHER'S - Clean Freak Tapioca Dry Shampoo
and VERB - Ghost Hairspray
, but you can use whatever you have on hand. If you have fine hair and don’t have texture spray, you can use a bit of dry shampoo instead. Music: Last Summer Musician: @iksonmusic

Drugstore Styling Faves - No Bank Breaking Here!
I’ve featured some drugstore hair products on Cherie, but not many for hair styling. The drugstore has awesome products at good price points. I actually prefer buying from the drugstore. By the way, when I say “drugstore”, I’m referring to drugstores such as CVS and Walgreens, but also affordable, widely available retailers like Walmart, Target, and Ulta. NOT YOUR MOTHER'S - Clean Freak Tapioca Dry Shampoo This giant bottle has lasted me a few years. I’m not an avid dry shampoo user, to be honest. Even for a regular user, though, this is a good bang for your bucks. This one’s scent is “warm sugar”, which reminds me of vanilla, but there are other varieties available. Easy to work through my dark hair. $5-7 sun bum - Revitalizing 3 in 1 Leave-In Hair Treatment Smells like a warm piña colada! This isn’t my favorite drugstore leave-in (the Kristin Ess leave-in which I need to repurchase), but this one is nice. It’s a bit small at 4oz for about $15, but still not a bad price. It’s a great summer option because it’s UV protecting and never leaves my hair feeling greasy or weighed down. Available at Ulta, Target, and some drugstores. sun bum - Heat Protector It’s hard to find a heat protectant for both wet and dry hair. This checks both boxes for me. It smells like the leave-in. I most often use this before curling or flat ironing my hair. My hair is left silky, soft, and shiny. Sun Bum is often on sale BOGO 40-50% off at Ulta, so I recommend shopping during a sale. $15 HASK - Keratin Flash Blow-Dry Spray I don’t blow dry my hair often, but when I do, I use this to cut down on drying time. I’ve got super thick hair, so it can otherwise take 40+ min. I would say this cuts my dry time by about 40%, which is awesome! I also use it if I’m going to use my diffuser, which takes about 10 min to get my wavy/curly hair 85% dry (don’t dry 100% w/ a diffuser!). Has a pleasant smell - sort of...fruity. $6-8 GARNIER - Frizz Guard Anti-Frizz Dry Spray I used this more when I lived in NY because it was so humid there. I do occasionally use this now. Definitely works for taming frizz and adding shine in humid places. Super affordable - $10ish. (Note that Gariner is not cruelty-free) MARC ANTHONY TRUE PROFESSIONAL - 100% Extra Virgin Coconut Oil & Shea Butter Curl Cream Smells like coconut. Great for dry hair that needs moisture. Definines my waves/curls and doesn’t weigh my hair down. This is a mini that came in an Ipsy, but a full size is about $7 at many drugstores. I’ve tried other MA products and they’re really good! #CheriePartner

Get That Grease Out!
I’ve been in the process of training my hair to produce less oil. I’ve gone from washing my hair every day to washing it every two days or so. And this has helped so much with stretching my wishes longer! I spray it directly on my roots and let it sit for 5-10 mins. Then I run it through my hair and finally brush it out. It doesn’t completely freshen my hair and make it seem like I just washed it which is what I think most people think dry shampoo will do. It dries up the grease and oil and gets rid of any excess shine. It doesn’t make my hair look brand new but it helps make it look less greasy. Overall, it’s a great product to have handy. I will definitely be purchasing in the new year. 7/10 NOT YOUR MOTHER'S - Clean Freak Tapioca Dry Shampoo

Easy Party Hairstyle Pictorial
About my hair: thiiiiick, long, wavy/curly, frizzy This style was done on same-day washed hair. I loveeeee this style, especially for summer! It’s super easy to do. The concept involves making small buns. While my pictorial involves making 3 buns, depending on your hair length you may only be able to do 2 buns. I’ve also done this style with 2 buns and it’s really cute! This style can be done regardless of your hair type. What you’ll need -heavy duty Bobby or spin pins -hairspray -comb -optional: texture spray if your hair texture is fine or slippery Steps: (Pre-step: spray texture spray throughout hair if using. Skip if not.) 1. Comb all of your hair from the front of your head towards the back. 2. Separate the section of hair near your crown. 3. Twist the hair counter-clockwise until it starts to coil. Wrap the hair around itself into a bun shape. Use your other hand to hold the bun in place while wrapping. 4. Pin the bun in place. 5. Separate the section of hair above your ears. 6. Repeat steps 3-4 to pin a second bun into place. 7. Repeat steps 3-4 to pin a third bun into place. 8. Add additional Bobby pins if needed to secure your buns and smooth hair in the front of your head. Use hairspray to lock your style into place. If your hair is shorter, this style can be done by separating your hair into 2 sections instead of 3. Accessories, like sparkly pins or clips, would look awesome with this style. My tips: Invest in some spin pins. They make buns a BREEZE. For these small buns, I only use 1 spin pin because they hold so well. goody - Hair Simple Styles Mini Spin Hair Pin are about $7-9. Heavy duty Bobby pins also work well, such as CONAIR - Styling Essentials Firm Hold Bobby Pins , which are amazing for thick hair (about $6-7). I don’t suggest using non-textured styling pins because they won’t hold this style. I used VERB - Ghost Hairspray in this pictorial, but feel free to use whatever medium or high hold hairspray you have on hand!

what do you think of this method? Yey or nay? Have you try it? I have to confess that this hair tool has been sitting on my table for years now, I tried it once and gave up immediately as braiding using only my fingers is easier for me but I decided to give it a chance again as I know how useful can be for those of you that don’t know how to braid, so let me know if this was helpful and if you would give it a try too 🥰

5 Minute Flat Iron Beachy Waves🌊
5 Minute Flat Iron Beachy Waves🌊
This is one of my favourite go-to hair styles lately to give my hair some texture and dimension! The best part - it literally takes like 5 minutes and you do not need to be a hair styling wizard to pull it off! These are the steps I take + products I use to get this style👇🏻 1️⃣ Spray hair with heat protectant (I used my eva·nyc - Mane Magic 10-in-1 Primer and it works well, the smell is just a bit too strong for my liking) 2️⃣ Section hair using a clip or a scrunchie; my hair is super fine so I typically only do 2-3 sections 3️⃣ Starting with an inch or so wide section on your bottom layer, roll the flat iron forwards and backwards down the section, creating a wave 4️⃣ Continue to do this for the rest of your hair, taking it down section by section as needed 5️⃣ Spray hair with a dry texture spray or wax (I used my IGK - Beach Club Volume Texture Spray which gives great volume and grip) and run your fingers through to mess it up a little! I used my eva·nyc - Spectrum Far-Infrared Styling Iron to create this style and it works pretty well, the iron itself is a bit slippery at times so I struggled to get the definition I was used to getting with my old flat iron, but all in all it gets the job done. After you’re done with the waving, you can style the hair however you want! I will often add a braid or do a half up top knot, it just depends what I’m in the mood for! Thanks for watching🤗 #CheriePartner

Quick + easy party hair! My go to 90’s style!
Quick + easy party hair! My go to 90’s style!
We love a cute and time efficient hair style! I’m not big on styling my hair, but this is my go to style for heading out or to a party. It’s fun and girly! I have pretty straight and fine hair. My hair doesn’t hold curls well, so this is perfect for my hair! ghd - Classic Styling Iron My favorite straightener! As you can see in my video, it glides through so easy and straightens as well as curls. It heats up very quickly and gets the job done. I’ve had this for years and it has lasted so well. It is on the pricey end, but worth it! KENRA PROFESSIONAL - Platinum Silkening Gloss My favorite hair product to add shine and smooth out my fly always. It smells SO GOOD. A little goes a long way. Don’t put too much or you’ll get the greasy hair look. It’s super lightweight so it won’t weigh your style down. KENRA PROFESSIONAL - Volume Spray 25 I take this hair spray with me everywhere! Really holds hair styles in place and I have hair that never stays. It’s humidity resistant, flake free, fast drying, wind resistant, and has a SUPER HOLD. #cheriecreator
