Had a Late Night? 2 Quick Fixes!
We all have “those” nights. Whether it’s up late working on a school or work assignment, watching too many YouTube (or Tik Tok) videos, stressed about something, or whatever else that prevents you from having a good night of sleep, we all want to look well-rested! In addition to a splash of cold water on your face and a cup of coffee, tea, or matcha, there are 2 things I usually do to help my face and under eyes look like I got the recommended 8 hours of sleep. Puffiness and extra darkness under the eyes are common if you didn’t get a good night of sleep. An easy way to de-puff, hydrate, and instantly lift your under eyes is to use eye gels. It’s here! 🎉 I won Good Molecules’ skin care routine from their @tiktok giveaway! I love this company’s caffeine eye patches & silicon-free priming moisturizer, so I’m excited to try the rosewater cleansing gel, hyaluronic acid serum & niacinamide toner. 😬 There’s not a lot of skin care companies that I brag about, but Good Molecules is at the top of my list! Packing is always perfect, customer service is great, and the products have not disappointed me. Vegan AM/PM use Fragrance-free Never tested on animals Most products are: Alcohol-free Gluten-free pH balance 5.5 - 5.9 Looking for new products to try, check them out! And yes, I used their wrapping paper as a back drop! 🤗
Rejuvenating Eye Mask!
GOOD MOLECULES - Caffeine Energizing Hydrogel Eye Patches I’ve tried a number of eye masks & Good Molecules’ Hydrogel Eye Patches is by far the best I’ve ever experience! Cooling feeling Brightens tired eyes Decreases puffiness Removes fine lines I was hoping the product would remove dark circles, but it doesn’t. Summer Is For Cooling Masks! The Best One Is..😋😋😋
The weather is getting hotter and I'm really in need of a cooling mask, so I bought two types of soothing masks with rave reviews. I've been using them for more than a month and thought it was time write a review about them. fresh - Vitamin C Glow Face Mask Kiehl's - Calendula & Aloe Soothing Hydration Mask The Fresh mask is about twice as expensive as the one by Kiehl's. Scent: The Fresh mask has a citrus scent which is suitable for summer, but I prefer Kiehl's light calendula scent. Texture: The Fresh mask contains exfoliating particles which dissolve when mixed with water and rubbed. It also gently exfoliates and resurfaces the skin. The Kiehl's mask has a jelly, gel-like texture which focuses on soothing and hydrating. I suggest keeping these two masks in the fridge for a cooling and soothing sensation when they're applied on the skin. Results: I normally prefer using sheet masks as they offer more instant and obvious results. I use wash-off face masks only in summer, and I find that both Fresh and Kiehl's masks don't offer the instant effect that sheet masks offer. Fresh focuses on natural ingredients and is suitable for pregnant women and people with sensitive skin, but it can't be easily washed off. However, my skin feels very comfortable for the whole day after it's washed off, so I will definitely repurchase it. Kiehl's washes off more easily, and it's more suitable for repairing sunburned skin by applying a thick layer on. Calendula is great for calming and soothing skin. Normally I'll cleanse my skin, apply a thick layer of the mask, shower then wash it off before continuing with my follow-up skincare routine.
“Clean by Sephora” Brands Can Still Be Damaging
Just because it’s organic, “natural”, or pretty, doesn’t make it good for you. Today I’m going to focus on two brands that consistently overprice their products that claim to be gentle but are, at base, sensitizing water that smells nice. I’d avoid them entirely, though there are honestly very few brands at Sephora that are worth the money. • Fresh: I jumped on this Insta-hyped brand a couple years ago. Most of their products are essentially just perfume with some skincare ingredients thrown in for INCI flavor. I’m normally not so harsh, but I get headaches from how fragrant their fresh - Vitamin C Glow Face Mask is. Same for the fresh - Rose Deep Hydration Toner , which dried out my skin terribly when my skin barrier started rioting against the volatile rose oil. Even if your skin doesn’t visibly react, fragrance and volatile plant oils oxidize, breaking down collagen beneath the surface, making this a brand (amongst many) that I’ll continue to avoid and recommend against when it comes to facial products. • Summer Fridays: Their scrub masks are, full stop, bad for skin. The scrub particles are abrasive and not uniform in size, increasing the likelihood to end up with irritated skin rather than a smooth glow. As well, they’re highly fragranced (see my above beef with fragrance), to the point that I use my leftover SUMMER FRIDAYS - R + R Mask as a foot scrub whenever I want to feel bougie. Damage on the surface AND collagen? Not worth $50. SUMMER FRIDAYS - Jet Lag Mask uses orange peel oil, another volatile essential oil, but has the added flaw of featuring peppermint oil, which contains sensitizing, skin-irritating menthol. There are other brands (some of their products included in this “Things That Didn’t Work For Me” photo) that utilize collagen-damaging fragrance and essential oils, but I find these two so often praised on Instagram that I can’t help but wonder if people look at the ingredient lists. I know some love these brands and that’s fine- but there are so many better, more affordable brands with clinically-researched ingredients and no unnecessary irritants.
innisfree - Skin solution mask This mask is made from 100% natural cotton sheet masks infused with powerful ingredients such as hyaluronic acid, catechins, madecassoside, collagen, BHA, peptides, Vitamin C, beta glucan, betaine, ceramide, idebenone and panthenol. I definitely notice a difference when i used this regularly 2x/week. I see more moisture, firmer skin, and a clearer and brighter complexion. The collagen mask is infused with hydrolyzed collagen, which is processed collagen in smaller proteins (amino acids). The scientific evidence behind topical use of collagen is still unsure, even if broken down into hydrolyzed collagen. I definitely notice a difference when i used this regularly 2x/week. I see more moisture, firmer skin, and a clearer and brighter complexion. The Vita C mask contains vitamin C derivatives and niacinamide for a brighter and clearer complexion. Amazon sells a variety pack of 10 sheets for $17.50. In general, I feel like these masks provide the same results -- smoother, more hydrated, brighter skin. I would recommend to a friend because they work really well.

A popular K beauty sleeping mask
Thoughts: I really don't like this mask. That should just be my opinion but I prefer to go more in depth. This mask is said to hydrate, lock in moisture, help with dryness etc..but truthfully this does neither for me. I used it three times this week to give it a fair shot but I didn't like how sticky it made my face feel once applied in just a minute and how extra dry my face looked each time in the morning. This is definitely not a hydrating sleeping mask because my face felt nothing of the sorts. I really don't understand how many rave about this when there is an ingredient in here called alcohol which is straight up drying and bad for the skin! I should have gone with my gut feeling instead of getting dragged in by popular opinions. I wanted to try this only because I was gifted it, excited to be apart of the crowd who tried it and because I also wanted to have a hydrated face just like so many claimed to have had. I truly do regret trying this and the only good thing I can say about this mask is the cooling feeling it gives but other then that this mask does the opposite of what it should. I won't be using this again. Claims: It's an overnight moisture recharging gel mask that will quickly absorb while you sleep to hydrate the skin. Targets: Dryness, dullness, uneven texture, fine lines and wrinkles Texture: A soft white lightweight feeling gel like cream that turns into water once rubbed in ( see next pic for a texture shot ) Some ingredients: Hydro ionized mineral water to circulate and retain long lasting moisture Apricot to help calm skin from damage and external stressers Beta glucan to lock in active ingredients and mineral water Price: $25 not worth it Recommendation: No I don't recommend this because you can find other masks that are hydrating and will not dry out your skin. Honestly, don't even waste your time to try this out. LANEIGE - Water Sleeping Mask

Laneige 💦 Sleeping Mask!
This was one of the first K-Beauty products I tried and a sleeping mask too as a matter of fact. I find it hydrating and soothing. The fragrance is a little too strong for my liking but I do wake up with the softest, moistest skin. Some of its ingredients include hyaluronic acid, evening primrose root extract, and apricot fruit extract. I actually prefer the Laneige Cica Sleeping Mask to this one. Maybe because it is more of a cream and this one is a gel. It does absorb nicely and doesn’t feel too sticky after it has fully absorbed. It is good for all skin types and claims to help with dryness, dullness and uneven texture and fine lines and wrinkles. Like I said, my experience was positive and I do wake up in the morning with soft and hydrated skin. I find that it also calms the redness I sometimes get on my cheeks. LANEIGE - Water Sleeping Mask

EYE MASK FOR HYDRATION
SUMMER FRIDAYS - Jet Lag Mask As I’ve definitely mentioned on Cherie before, I LOVE versatile products. Like yes, sign me up for 2 in 1 products, cause one of my favorite face masks is also my favorite eye mask!! Can you guess it??.... Well it’s Summer Friday’s Jet Lag. * * * This is a one of a kind hydrating cream face mask featuring proven, skin-loving ingredients that deliver rich hydration and a radiant complexion in just one application. It’s for every skin type and a solution for dryness, dullness, and uneven texture. The biggest thing I look for in an eye mask is hydration since I usually do not get a lot of dark circles. * * * This is a thick, white cream that can be applied in a few ways. You can leave a layer on and it will absorb overnight, or you can apply, blend in, and apply until your desired hydration is reached. This is my go to for my night routine. * * * I’ve had this product for over a year now and use it at least 4-5 days a week. Thanks to Instagram and its’ influencers, as well as being marketed on Sephora, I had to try this. I’m glad I have because I’ve gone through 4 full sized tubes. For $48, this product does it all. Hands, face, eyes, you name it. They did release a mini version, but I feel like the best bang for your buck is going in for the full sized product. * * * I’m giving this a 5 stars because it’s one of my absolute favorites! I always take it if I’m traveling, I apply multiple times on a plane, I use this on my under eyes everyyyyy night, and sometimes when I’m feeling lazy, I will use this to moisturize my face. I love this product! Have you tried it yet?
SUMMER FRIDAYS-Jet Lag Mask
My favorite k-beauty skincare products: Tonymoly face masks ☺️ This face mask claims to maximum hydration for your skin and to transform dull and tired skin into healthy, moisturized skin in as little as 20 minutes. This face mask targets dry skin & dullness. This face mask is wet & feels very refreshing when you put it on the face. I really like this face mask because it smells like roses, which smells so good & it moisturizes my skin. I also love this face mask because it doesn’t fall off my face unlike other face masks. Whenever I put this face mask on my face, I feel very relaxed & refreshed. I decided to try this because I love anything with rose, so I wanted to try it. Once I used this, I fell in love with it. I also like how there’s a variety of scents for the mask as well. After using this mask, I saw instant results with moisturizing my face & brightening my face. This product retails for $3 at Urban Outfitters, which is kinda pricey for a face mask, but I love it, so I think it’s definitely worth a try! I would rate this face mask a 5/5 😊 TONYMOLY - I'm Real Rose Sheet Mask

Nature Republic Sheet Mask Review
I have gone through several of these Nature Repulic sheet masks. We live pretty close to Hmart and inside they have this little K-beauty boutique and so my mom and I always stock up on these when we run out. They are pretty affordable and sometimes are on sale for BOGO or $10 for 10. My favorite ones are the Real Nature Mask Sheet in Royal Jelly (the honey one). The Royal jelly is a honey bee secretion that is used apparently in providing nutrition to bee larvae and for queen bees. The benefits for us (putting it on our face) is nourishment and an improvement in skin texture. It is said to make the skin plump and hydrated and aid with wrinkle prevention. Sounds good to me! The royal jelly used in this mask is gathered from Kang-won province from Korea, which is apparently famous for bee farming. I didn’t know that. I only knew that Kang-won province was famous for their seafoods LOL. The cotton on this sheet mask wraps so nicely on the face and remains on there until I remove it off. I can walk around and do other things with this mask on which is a huge plus because I can multi-task while masking. It really leaves my face plump and very well hydrated. It definitely is worth to try because the mask is deeply saturated with the essence. It also has enough essence left in the pouch to use on my arms and legs. 5/5 from me. So affordable, so good.
