Let’s Debunk Some Skincare Myths
To say there’s a plethora of beauty information out there would be an understatement. It can be difficult to determine what are good tips and what are myths, especially if there’s conflicting information. Let’s debunk 3 common ones that I still hear/see around the web/beauty community.
If your makeup contains SPF you don’t need SPF underneath. Why is this myth incorrect? You would need to apply a lot of foundation, tinted moisturizer, or BB/CC cream to get the proper amount of SPF needed to protect your skin. For example, I have the ILIA - Super Serum Skin Tint SPF 40
Face wipes clean your face as well as cleanser. Nope! Face wipes may seemingly remove all your makeup and SPF residue, but they don’t have the ability to properly cleanse your face. I don’t usually use face wipes, but I received these RAWGANIC - Pure Refreshing Facial Wipes
Don’t mix vitamin C and niacinamide. Why is this a myth? It was believed that combining anything with vitamin C, especially niacinamide, would negate the effects of vitamin C. Vitamin C is awesome for brightening and fading dark spots, and niacinamide is great for enlarged pores, dull skin, and acne scarring. Combining these two powerhouse ingredients, such as in the GOOD MOLECULES - Niacinamide Brightening TonerAbout me: DRYYYYYY acne-prone skin

Pores face serums

Korean Skincare Haul !!! ✨✨
If you haven’t dabbled into Korean skincare it’s time to hop on the wagon ! Some of the best products I’ve used that truly changed my skin are by K-beauty. By uncovering new and effiacious ingredients, they create innovative formulas that are both gentle and effective. Best part of k-beauty is how affordable they are. Western skincare has convinced us that in order to have good skin you have to spend a lot of money. K-beauty challenges that concept by creating products with high quality ingredients and formulas while still remaining budget friendly. Starting off with products I repurchased are PURITO - Centella Unscented Toner I love this product, this really helps to bring down inflammation on the skin, it’s soothing, calming, and it’s very hydrating on the skin as well. I like to use this when I don’t want to use any products with actives and I just want to focus on repairing my moisture barrier. PURITO - Centella Unscented Toner This is the toner version of serum I just mentioned. Centella is one of my favorite ingredients to use in my skincare. It’s benefits include anti aging, it’s anti inflammatory, helps even out your skin, hydration, and healing. I love the texture and feel to this. It’s a little thicker than any of my other toners but when applied it seeps into your skin quickly without leaving a sticky feel on your face. innisfree - Green Tea Fresh Toner Another favorite toner of mine and a great staple to add to your routine. The first ingredient listed is Green tea extract meaning your getting the highest concentration of green tea as the first ingredient in this product. I love to use this in my morning routine to give my skin an extra boost hydration throughout the day. Not to mention fragrance free 😍 Products I’m excited to try: Benton - Benton Snail Bee Ultimate SerumFrom reviews I’ve read, this is soothing, hydrating, brightening, and helps protect against moisture loss. It’s a non-irritating formula that should be easy to incorporate even for sensitive skin. Super excited to try this out ! I'm from - Rice TonerI’ve been so anxious to try this from hearing so many good things about it. It’s a lightweight formula that delivers hydration and gives the skin that instant brightening effect we all love. Great for both oily and dry skin. I'm from - Honey MaskI love honey ! It’s a great humectant, great for irritated skin, good for acne, and intense moisture. There is 38.7% of real high quality Korean honey. Great for most skin types. If you have any product recommendations for dry acne prone skin leave them in the comments. Let’s help each other out 🥰#skincarehaul #skincareandshare 🤍🤍🤍
A Soothing Calming Serum 🌿
- What it Claims - ♥︎ This serum rejuvenates the skin by strengthening its barrier ♥︎ It contains essential Centella ingredients to restore a damaged skin barrier and soothe irritated skin ♥︎The Centella Asiatica Extract and Panthenol help calm the irritated skin preventing further inflammation ♥︎ If your skin is stressed using too many products with various ingredients that do not fit your skin, give your face a break and help it restore by using the Centella Unscented Serum - How Long I’ve Been Using it - I’ve been using this serum for 3 months and it took about a month to see results for me! And this little bottle can last you long! - My Review - What it claims to do is very true! A-class ingredients! ❌ I have rosacea and unknowingly put benzoyl peroxide! Do not do this! ❌ My cheeks were burning! This serum definitely calmed it down and strengthend my skin barrier! Thankfully my cheeks are alright! 😅 Yet it doesn’t claim to smooth out the skin, it definitely reduced my rough skin texture! This serum is hydrating for me since I have combo skin! - ★ The Centella ingredients calmed down my rosacea ★ Definitely strengthened my skin barrier ★ Plumps my skin ★ Reduced redness and brightened my face (brightens your skin if you use it for about 3 months) ★ This is a good simple serum overall for healing the skin! - Final Thoughts - • I recommend this for all skin types ~ Would I ever repurchase this? Yes! if my skin needs to go back to a simple-basic routine!

Ingredient Spotlight: Niacinamide
Niacinamide has been a “hot” ingredient for a while now - and for good reason! Niacinamide, which is a form of vitamin B-3, has many benefits including: •reducing the appearance of irritation •calm redness •improve the visibility of pores over time •oil regulation •improve skin texture over time •help soothe the appearance of acne and prevent future breakouts •improve fine lines and wrinkles over time •support a healthy skin barrier I have been using some form of niacinamide in my skincare courting for about a year and a half. My first niacinamide product was the GOOD MOLECULES - Niacinamide Brightening Toner , which I’ve since used up and repurchased. This toner also contains vitamin C to help brighten skin & reduce pores’ visibility. The odorless, watery texture absorbs quickly. It can be used 2x/day but I generally use 1x in the AM. My skin genuinely missed this when I didn’t have it. My skin looked a bit dull and I had some breakouts. It truly brightens my complexion and does help reduce pore visibility over time. $14 on brand’s website or Beautylish Serums are also a great way to add niacinamide into your routine. The insta natural - Niacinamide Serum is a newer addition to my routine, but I’m so impressed. This was gifted to me by the brand. I’ve been using it regularly 1x in the PM after toner for just over a month now. I lock it in with moisturizer and occasionally face oil. This serum is extra awesome, especially for super dry skin like mine, because it contains hyaluronic acid, rosemary extract, avocado oil, and vitamin E. It does smell a bit like rosemary, but does not linger. The milky texture feels so soothing, especially when my skin is irritated and extra dry. My skin looks visibly more calm and is generally clear. The reason I love this is because niacinamide *can* be irritating for some (esp. super dry or sensitive types). I previously used The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% (used up - no photo, $6) and would experience a mild burning sensation when applied over irritated + flaky spots. It also left my face super tacky and sometimes caused pilling of products on top. I don’t recommend that one for dry or sensitive skin, and wouldn’t repurchase. The Instanatural serum does not do any of those things. It will be in my routine long-term! Plus, it’s affordable at $18 (brand’s website) and comes in a 2oz bottle. Also available on Amazon ~ $16 All brands mentioned are cruelty-free (CF), and Instanatural is leaping bunny certified (a gold standard for CF products). Please note that I am not a skincare expert. Consult your dermatologist before introducing new ingredients to your routine. #CheriePartner
Good Molecules Niacinamide Toner Review
GOOD MOLECULES - Niacinamide Brightening Toner I SO wanted to love this product AND........ I do. I’ve seen a big change in my skin using this Niacinamide toner and The ordinary Niacinamide serum. I was having trouble with huge pores and facial redness. My face is much smoother, less red and my pores look much better. I think this is what I needed. I read tons of reviews and was impressed. This is my first Good Molecules product and I definitely want to try more. I ordered this directly from Good Molecules because it was a tiny bit cheaper than Beautylish (penny-pincher 🤗🤗🤗🤍). Shipping was pretty quick and shipped out same day I ordered. They also sent a sample Cleanser bar. (I was excited lol. I love a sample!!!) It was great. It makes my skin feel good and clean. I used it while in the shower. This product comes in a glass bottle. I use it by pressing down the top on a cotton ball several times to get a good amount to use on my face. It’s not super thick. No burning with this product. I use it twice a day most of the time ( AM/PM). I bought the smaller size bottle to try it out. I will buy the bigger size next time. The price on Good Molecules are great and comparable to The Ordinary. The small bottle was $6 and the bigger size is $14. I definitely recommend it especially if you have large pores and/or facial redness.

2021 Fashion Week Inspired Makeup - Chloé
This is the second spring/summer 2021 fashion week inspired look I did. Make sure to check out my other Cherie post for my Hermès look. This look inspired by Chloé focuses on smoldering, smudged out black-rimmed eyes, dewy skin, and juicy nude lips. The eye look was particularly interesting to me because of the blank spaces in the center of the model’s lower and upper lids. The base of this look is the same as my Hermès look. I’ve included the inspo photo that I found on Allure. Complexion: Glossier. - Futuredew Oil Serum Hybrid - this oil-serum hybrid is perfect for adding a glowy base on bare skin, under makeup, or over makeup on the high points of your face for a natural, yet wet-looking highlight. I used 1 pump all over my face under my skin tint, and a tiny bit dabbed on the tops of my cheek bones after my skin tint. $24 ILIA - Super Serum Skin Tint SPF 40 “balos” - light coverage to even out my skin tone and also amp up the dew. $46 e.l.f. - Hydrating Camo Concealer “light peach” - I used 2 tiny dots under my eyes to add some coverage. $6 AOA studio - Sculpt FX Contour “fawn” - the model does not appear to be wearing any cheek products; however, has beautiful, defined cheekbones. I don’t have defined cheekbones, so I used this to give a slight contoured effect. $1 Now the fun part! I used URBAN DECAY - 24/7 Glide-on Eye Pencil “perversion” to lightly outline the inner and outer portions of my top and bottom lash lines. I smudged this out with a pencil brush. Then I used the shade “black” from my LORAC - PRO Matte Eye Shadow Palette to intensify the smokiness. I made sure to keep the space directly in the middle of my eyes blank on both upper and lower lash lines. I then drew a thick wing on the outer corner of each eye, topped with black shadow, and smudged inwards. I couldn’t tell if the model was wearing mascara, but I added 1 quick coat of URBAN DECAY - Lash Freak Volumizing & Lengthening Mascara to add an extra pop to my eyes. For lips, I lightly blotted COLOURPOP - Ultra Matte Lip “little one” (limited edition, no longer available) to add a hint of nude to my lips. Then I topped with the ICONIC - Lip Plumping Gloss in “nearly nude” . This gloss is super glossy and wet looking - perfect for ultra juicy-looking lips! This look was so fun to create. Unlike the Hermès look, this isn’t something I would personally wear day-to-day, but for Halloween or the runway it’s perfect! It’s so hard not to smile in photos 🤪 #CheriePartner
2021 Fashion Week Inspired Makeup - Hermès
This look is inspired by models for Hermes for 2021 spring/summer fashion week. This look focuses on super dewy skin and a bold, red lip as the center of attention. This look was really easy to recreate and something I would actually rock IRL (except for the lack of mascara because mascara is bae). I’ve included the inspo photo from Allure. To add a glowy base to my complexion, I used Glossier. - Futuredew Oil Serum Hybrid . I only ever use 1 pump of this oil-serum hybrid because I think any more makes me look like a grease ball. I applied this all over my face and dabbed a tiny amount onto my eyelids. This product is perfect for applying on bare skin, under makeup, and can even be used over makeup for a natural, wet-looking highlight. After I applied my complexion products, I dabbed a tiny amount onto the high points of my cheekbones. Sticking with the dewy theme, I used the ILIA - Super Serum Skin Tint SPF 40 in “balos”. I’m not sure if the models were wearing complexion products because their skin looked super natural, yet also “flawless”. Since I have some redness on my cheeks, I used this skin tint to even out my skin tone and amp up the dew. I lightly concealed underneath my eyes with the e.l.f. - Hydrating Camo Concealer in “light peach”. The models don’t appear to be wearing any cheek products, though I did add a tiny bit of AOA studio - Sculpt FX Contour in “fawn” to help sculpt my cheeks a tiny bit like the models. I finished the look off with the SEPHORA COLLECTION - Cream Lip Stain Liquid Lipstick in “always red”. I’ve had a mini of this for quite a while. It’s beautiful, comfortable despite being matte, does leave a tint behind, and is long-wearing. This is the kind of lipstick that would last from the runway well into the after party (in non-COVID times, of course). The models don’t appear to be wearing any mascara, so I skipped that. I filled in my brows a bit more than usual for a fuller appearance. I used the essence - Superlast Eyebrow Pomade Pencil in “dark brown”. Such a fun look! You guys it’s sooo hard not to smile. How do models do it?! 🤪 Look for another fashion week look soon. All brands are cruelty-free except for Sephora Collection. Prices: futuredew $24, skin tint $46, concealer $6, contour stick $1, lip stain (full size) $15, brow pencil $3.50 #Cherie Partner

Friendly reminder to use spf today! ☀️
You gotta love spf! It protects your skin from uva/uvb rays and helps to prevent early signs of aging. Helps slow down the process of forehead wrinkles, crows feet, sun/dry patches and even skin cancer! It’s important to use this even on cloudy days. Remember to use a spf for your hands as well. Everyone should wear spf. Doesn’t matter if your complexion is fair, light, medium, tan, dark or richer dark. A few years back I didn’t like the feeling of spf but it was because I was using the wrong ones. I was using cheaper spfs that left a white cast on my face/ felt too greasy. I bought many different travel sized ones to figure out which were best for me. I have sensitive combination skin so my cheeks and chin are dry and my forehead and nose is really oily. My favorite spfs are: supergoop! Play everyday lotion spf 50. This is super soft and gentle on my skin. It spreads evenly and doesn’t leave a white cast or greasy. 2.4 oz for $22.00 Supergoop! - Play Everyday Lotion SPF 50 With Sunflower Extract Supergoop! Unseen sunscreen spf 40. This is clear and feels really soft. This would be great for oily skin. Whenever I use this it leaves my skin slightly matte. Doesn’t leave my skin greasy. 1.7 oz for $34.00 Supergoop! - Unseen Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 40 Coola classic body spf 50. I love this for my body. I also use this on my face. Doesn’t smell strong. 5 oz for $28.00 COOLA - Classic Body SPF 50- Guava Mango Up&up sport sunscreen lotion spf 50. One of the most affordable and really good spf I’ve used. This target spf is surprisingly good. It does have that spf smell unfortunately but it fades away once you’ve been wearing it for a few minutes. It feels kind of like the supergoop lotion texture. 16 oz and it’s only $8.99!
Sensitive Skin Ingredients
This is a great guide to show skin sensitive issues ingredients! When I was dealing with skin barrier inflammation, some of these products saved my life. Ingredients I swear by: Aloe Vera: this is great for inflammation and red skin. The plant is amazingly effective, but you can also buy the 100% gel at your local store as well! Fruit of the Earth - Aloe Vera 100% Gel SKINFOOD - Aloe Vera 93% Soothing Gel Green Tea: The tea is a favorite I drink every morning, but I also love this in mask form! TONYMOLY - I'm Real Green Tea Sheet Mask Vitamin C Derivative: There’s many forms of Vitamin C. The strongest, L- Ascorbic Acid, is mostly toted for their effects, but there are other options. Sodium Ascorbly Phosphate, Magnesium Ascorbly Phospahte, etc. If you have skin sensitivity (burning, tingling, etc) to Vitamin C I recommend : Seoul Ceuticals - 20% Vitamin C Hyaluronic Acid Serum Mad Hippie - Vitamin C Serum Lukewarm Water to Rinse: I recommend this no matter type of skin you have. Hot water can dry your face out, making you skin more irritable and sensitive. Less is Key: When experiencing sensitivity it can often be associated to new products and the amount you use on your face. You do not need a 10 step routine to treat skin issues I found when I was using 3-4 steps my skin was treated just as effectively, you just need to find what works for your skin. Mineral sunscreen: There are two types of sunscreen physical and mineral. Physical are usually chemical based and can cause irritation. Some great mineral sunscreens I’ve tried: Supergoop! - Unseen Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 40 Neutrogena - Sensitive Skin Face Liquid Sunscreen SPF 50 My skin is not as sensitive as it was before but this is great photo I got from (babeandbeauty on IG).
Hyram Approved😍The Ordinary or The Inkey List? Which is the BEST?
The Ordinary and The Inkey List are getting a lot more popular recently because of how affordable they are. In this post, I will give you the answer from Hyram through the ingredients evaluation and his own experience. Niacinamide: treats so many skin problems, such as redness and sensitivity, dark spots and hyperpigmentation, controlling the oiliness in the skin, etc. The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%($6) VS. THE inkey LIST - Niacinamide Oil Control Serum ($7): Ingredient Winner: The Inkey List: in addition to Niacinamide, it contains a lot more incredible ingredients, like Radish Root Ferment to soothe sensitivity, Squalene to hydrate the skin, Sodium Hyaluronate is a concentrated form of hyaluronic acid, Soybean Oil to retain skin moisturized Experience & Performance Winner: The Ordinary: super lightweight and sinks into the skin easier, great for people who have combination to oily skin. Whereas The Inkey List product has a thicker consistency with a heavier layer on the surface of skin, great to dry to normal skin. You can choose any from them based on your own skin type. Retinol: a powerful ingredient to repair multiple types of damage within the skin, including acne scars, pigmentation, fine line, aging, sun damage, etc. The Ordinary - Retinol 0.5% in Squalane($6) VS. THE inkey LIST - Retinol Serum($10)Ingredient Winner: Tied. The Inkey List claims to have 1% retinol but actually 0.5% retinol and 0.5% hydroxypinacolone Retinoate, with is an ester of retinoic acid (an extremely powerful anti-aging and repairing product)Overall: The Ordinary is better because of how many options of retinol at different concentrations they have for a variety of skin types. Retinol can cause a lot of sensitivity if you’re not careful with the concentration Experience & Performance Winner: The Inkey List: No heavy feeling, easy to spread, very effective but non-sensitizing. However, The Ordinary products don’t feel very easy to apply. Hyaluronic Acid: helps to hydrate and condition your skin THE inkey LIST - Hyaluronic Acid Serum($8) VS. The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 ($7)Ingredient Winner: Tied. The Inkey List contains Peptides to help soothe and plump the skin, Glycerin to draw in moisture, and radish root ferment. The Ordinary has Ahnfeltia Cocinna Extract to hydrate the skin. Vitamin C (Ascorbic Acid): brighten pigmentation and dark spots, protect against free radical damage throughout the day. While it is a very unstable ingredient, it could be very effective when it’s put in a stable formula. Ingredient Winner: The Ordinary - Vitamin C Suspension 30% in Silicone($7): It’s a water-free formula, but also has squalene, coconut alkanes, which is great for hydrating and moisturizing the skin. Experience & Performance Winner: THE inkey LIST - Vitamin C Brightening Cream($10): very lightweight on the skin, and Hyram never had sensitivity while using this product. Glycolic Acid: dissolves all the dead skin cells off the surface of your skin to make your skin glow and hydrated Ingredient Winner: The Ordinary - Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution($9): the primary ingredients have Glycerin, a bunch of different amino acids, and Panax Ginseng Root Extract to support the health of the skin Experience & Performance Winner: THE inkey LIST - Glycolic Acid Liquid Toner 100ml($11): no sensitivity reaction but still effective for exfoliating the face Cleaners: The Ordinary - Squalane Cleanser($8)THE inkey LIST - Salicylic Acid Acne + Pore Cleanser($10), THE inkey LIST - Oat Cleansing Balm ($10), THE inkey LIST - Oil and Water Double Cleanser($10)Ingredient Winner: The Inkey List Experience & Performance Winner: The Inkey List Oat Cleansing Balm ($10): incredible for moving sunscreen, oil, and dirt from the face Moisturizers: Winner: THE inkey LIST - Hemp Oil Cream Moisturiser ($13): good for reducing redness; THE inkey LIST - Snow Mushroom Hydrating Gel Moisturizer($10): great for reducing sensitivity; THE inkey LIST - Multi-Biotic Balancing Moisturizer($13): great for healing the healthy bacteria count on your skin The Ordinary - Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA($8): it is good but in comparison to The Inkey List it just doesn’t stand out Check the link below to watch more from Hyram, and let me know if you have any thoughts.💖💖 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Znd29c8mTo&feature=emb_title
THE inkey LIST - Vitamin C Brightening Cream was a flop for me. The brand sent over some new releases when they first came to Sephora and this was one of the products. I do like the lightweight texture and it mixes/absorbs well into the skin but I don’t notice any effects from this cream. The product is suppose to help with dullness, hyperpigmentation, and fine lines. The highlighted ingredient is L-ascorbic acid 30%. I’m noticing on Sephora that they market this product as a rich cream, and the back of my product states ‘serum’. I originally thought it was weird it was labeled as a serum because it has more of a water cream texture. It is definitely not a rich cream! I don’t recommend this, I think there are way better vitC serums on the market! 🤨
4 Products Under $15 That Changed My Skin Game!
If you struggle to find truly good skincare products on a budget, you’re not alone. We’ve all done it: waltzed into Sephora looking for a miracle serum to fix our skin-woes, only to waltz right back out because of a hefty price tag. Beauty on a budget isn’t always easy—but it can be done! I will be making this a “series,” as my skincare routine is constantly evolving—but the one common factor in the majority of my products is a reasonable price point. Today I’m going to cover four products that completely changed my skincare game—and they’re all under $15! ISNtree - Green Tea Fresh Toner This toner is hands down my FAVORITE product in my routine. There is no competition. First of all, it’s so difficult to find reasonably priced products that contain high concentrations of green tea on the ingredient list. Seriously. Research. I’ll wait. (Just kidding.) Green tea in skincare is incredible for so many reasons, but for me it’s the “anti-aging” components that make it absolutely critical for my skin. I’ve seen noticeable improvements in my skin after just a few weeks of use—specifically lightening of my hyperpigmentation spots and less visible fine lines. I could write an entire post on this $12 toner alone, but I still have more to go! 9wishes - PH Calm Ampule Wash Some might say this is just another foaming face wash, but it’s truly one of the best I’ve ever used. My skin feels soft and clean after using it, but it also balances my skin tone immediately—leaving me with younger looking skin after a simple wash. Best $14.99 I’ve ever spent on a cleanser in my life. íUNIK - Tea Tree Relief Serum Remember that miracle serum I mentioned earlier? This is the one I didn’t know I needed, but now that I have it, I will never be without it! Simply put, this powerful serum is one of the only products I’ve ever used that can calm redness and irritation, AND get rid of zits and blemishes at the same time. I have never, ever used a product for acne that didn’t dry me out—until now. You can get a mini bottle of this lifesaver for just $10. (A full size bottle is about $25, but I went for the mini so I could try it. So worth it!) I use this serum at night when my skin is under stress, and it works it’s magic within 2-3 days. PURITO - Comfy Water Sun Block Last but certainly NOT least... the best sunblock I have ever, ever, EVER put on my face. This sunblock is completely water-based, but still packs 50 SPF of protection into a $14 bottle. No white cast. No clogged pores. No irritation. No fragrance. Just powerful sun protection without the junk. Plus, it makes a beautiful base for makeup. This product blew my previous favorite sunblock (Tatcha) out of the water (no pun intended) in price and quality, and since SPF is the absolute most important part of a skincare routine, that’s huge! Have you tried one of these products? Let me know in the comments!
PURITO-Comfy Water Sun Block
Morning routine for bright and glowy skin
Me last year = lots and lots of breakouts. Me now = still very acne prone BUT got a hold of it and now I want to target acne scars, get glowy skin and avoid any future flare ups. My morning and evening routines are fairly different. In the evening, I do a double cleanse and use products like my benzagel face wash to reduce the chances of getting acne and mix up a couple different products such as acids or retinol depending on what my skin needs. But in the morning I try to go for a hydrating and brightening routine that will help me reduce my pesky acne scars and make me look glowy and more awake! I also love this routine because most products are from the drugstore. Products: CeraVe - Hydrating Facial Cleanser This is great for the morning. It’s gentle, hydrating and won’t strip the skin. Definitely worth your money. I'm from - Rice Toner Loving this toner for the morning to help keep my skin plump and bright. This is one of products that I depend on to gently fade my acne scars and overall brighten my whole face. Mad Hippie - Vitamin C Serum I’m not quite ready to give a full review on this yet, but so far, so good! This serum has a higher percentage of vitamin c (10%) than the latest one I was using and also vitamin e and ferulic acid. Overall, skin is glowy and it’s not irritated at all, so I’m happy. THE inkey LIST - Caffeine Eye Cream Keeps eyes hydrated, helps de-puff, all good in my books. HONEST - Hydrogel Cream So excited to put up a full review about this product, but overall, great ingredients that keep skin moisturized and I love how glowy it makes my skin look in the morning. LA ROCHE-POSAY - Anthelios 50 Mineral Ultra Light Sunscreen Fluid SPF 50 Light-weight, good protection, no white cast and also helps give skin a little glow in the morning. Super happy with this purchase so far. Thought of the day: I had been doing a water cleanse in the morning for the last few months but recently read that it wasn’t the best idea. So I’ve started to use this gentle cleanser from Cerave for now. My skin seems to be liking it so far! Does anyone else do a water cleanse in the AM?

My Current Extra AF Morning Routine✨
A lot of products, I know. But I’ve found a routine that works for me! I currently alternate days between PAULA'S CHOICE - 10% Azelaic Acid Booster and The Ordinary - Ascorbyl Glucoside Solution 12% but everything else I’ve been using daily. Why do I use two moisturizers? Let me explain. When I first started my skincare journey, I was battling a pretty persistent case of fungal acne on my forehead. It wasn’t until I stopped using an oil cleanser and switched moisturizers that the acne stopped. I’ve found that FIRST AID BEAUTY - Hello FAB Coconut Water Cream helps keep my forehead hydrated without causing it to get too oily, which had been part of the problem. It also is free of many of the esters and omega fatty acids that can normally trigger fungal acne breakouts. Why not use it on my whole face then? Well, I’ve got combo skin, and my cheeks tend to dry up pretty quick. I’m obsessed with the texture of DRUNK ELEPHANT - Protini Polypeptide Cream and it’s been my favorite ever since I received a sample from Sephora about a year ago. I honestly couldn’t bear the thought of saying goodbye. Currently been testing out the COSRX - Low PH Good Morning Gel Cleanser because I ran out of my all time favorite YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Superfood Antioxidant Cleanser and I’ve got a lot of thoughts. Post coming soon. Hope you’re all having a good Monday and surviving all the bullish*t🌈 If you need a friend, I’m here! Let’s remember to be good to one another (and ourselves) through this!!!
PAULA'S CHOICE-10% Azelaic Acid Booster
THE Most Underrated Skincare Brand 🏆
I have sensitive combination skin that is acne-prone. I was dealing with a lot of hormonal acne as well but I’ve finally gotten it a bit more under control but do get breakouts and acne scars still. I’m also very sensitive to fragrance. Recently I bought a few products from Krave and I never plan on going back. They don’t have the fullest range just yet but the products they do have are total rockstars in affordability and ingredients. 🌱 Krave is all about taking a clean break. There are a lot of misconceptions and nasties in the skincare world that are not needed and not smart. Krave is all about taking a break from that and resetting. Here are my current favorites: ✨Great Barrier Relief Serum $28 for 1.52 fl oz 🔑 Key Ingredients: Tamanu Oil, Safflower Oil, Rosehip Oil, Vitamin B3, Ceramide These ingredients are for skin regeneration, hyperpigmentation, anti-aging, brightening, acne-fighting and generally repairing a damaged skin barrier. This serum is turning into an all time favorite between the ceramide and niacinamide ingredient list. I actually use this after a lighter Vitamin C serum during the morning on my mask area and I think it’s been really helping to create a barrier and prevent breakouts from constant mask wearing. This product is great for mimicking your skin’s natural moisture barrier so it’s great for skin that needs help from too many actives, sunburn, etc. ✨The Beet Shield $20 for 50ml 🔑 Key Ingredients: Beet root, Allantoin, Vitamin C, Resveratrol and EGCG. This daytime fluid has ingredients that overall give skin antioxidants, prevent signs of aging, soothe skin, fight free radicals, reduce pigmentation, reduce blemishes and moisturize. This is a chemical screen that is very lightweight. It doesn’t leave skin sticky or leave a white cast. It also has Vitamin C which I love! I feel like using this and their serum has maintained my clear skin even with the mask. Matcha Hemp Hydrating Cleanser $16 for 4.05 fl oz 🔑 Key Ingredients: Matcha, hemp seeds, oats, almonds, Vitamin B5 and Sodium PCA. ✨This cleanser is stunning. It is highly hydrating and skin barrier friendly. This can be used morning and night and a little goes a long way. The normal amount I’ve used in the past covered my fave, neck, chest and back so I’ve been able to use less by using this product as well. It doesn’t strip the skin and packs a gorgeous punch of antioxidants and hydration while cleansing. Perfection. ♻️ You can also choose carbon offset shipping for $1 more when ordering from them and the products come in a 100% recyclable carton with no excess fillers. Treatments: I ruined my gut health and ended getting constant yeast infections which links to malassezia as both are overgrowths of fungus/yeast! I recommend an anti-candida diet. Celery juice, apple cider vinegar in water, probiotics and supplements to boost my immune system all helped. I used Folliculitis scout to search for malassezia-safe products. I’ve used other websites and tbh some of them aren’t accurate or their recommended products broke me out. Every oil (except squalane & MCT), fatty acids and lipids is used by malassezia to grow! Once you eliminate these (which is hard), you can use glycerin or amino acids in your skincare routine and makeup bc they need oil, lipids or fatty acids for malassezia to grow off them. Skin barrier health and moisture is important. Don’t use too many treatments bc your skin will just get sensitive, dry and produce more oils. Also the Nizoral shampoo will ruin your skin barrier even if it kills malassezia off. There are other ways to treat it! Skincare routine: Morning: Benton - Deep Green Tea Toner green tea extract inhibits and combats malassezia. It’s a soothing and moisturising toner/essence. It’s antibacterial properties can target other types of acne too. skinstitut - Vitamin C 100% mix w/moisturiser for pigmentation/scarring Like I'm Five - All Day Soothing Gel Lotion I LOVE THIS. It has xylitol that combats malassezia, glycerin and hyaluronic acid as humectants and panthenol for healing. It’s on iherb for 12 AUD too! A steal! The Ordinary - 100% Plant-Derived Squalane squalane has helped my skin go from oily to normal, hence stopping your skin from over producing sebum where malassezia grows. elta md SKINCARE - UV Clear Broad Spectrum SPF 46 have had a hard time finding a good sunscreen this is one of the few malassezia safe sunscreens. Helps with hyper pigmentation. Nighttime: BIODERMA - Sensibio H2O Soothing Micellar Cleansing Water have tried others and always go back to this. Tried MCT oil, it’s malassezia-safe but oil cleansing is time consuming for me personally. ETUDE HOUSE - Soon Jung, pH 6.5 Whip Cleanser I’ve tried vanicream but this massively changed my skin. facetheory - PoreBright Serum N10 only use on problem areas 2x a week. Salicylic & azelaic combats malassezia. Or AZCLEAR - Medicated Lotion Benton - Deep Green Tea Toner Like I'm Five - All Day Soothing Gel Lotion The Ordinary - 100% Plant-Derived Squalane

Protecting Your Skin
🌼 I have combo skin leaning more dry (probably because I live in Southern California which is essentially a coastal desert and also full of smog and sun so I need all the protection I can get) 🌼 My skin is currently in a pretty good place where it falls more in the normal range but I do still get occasional breakouts and bouts of oiliness and dryness 🌼 Here’s some of my favorite products for protecting my skin: 🌼 Krave Beauty Matcha Hemp Hydrating Cleanser: This is a great affordable gel cleanser that’s packed with antioxidants. Anything which Matcha in it is going to be packed with antioxidants. Hemp is also a great ingredient for keeping the skin soothed and hydrated. I like to use this as a morning cleanse or a second evening cleanse. 🌼 Youth to the People Suberberry Hydrate + Glow Dream Mask: This stuff is magic. It contains Maqui Berry which is actually the most antioxidant rich fruit in the world as well as vitamin C and moisturizing Squalane. I use this at night after my moisturizer and it leaves my skin feeling so soft and bright. My favorite mask of all time. 🌼 Farmacy Very Cherry Bright Serum: This is an awesome vitamin C serum to protect your skin during the day from pollutants, UV rays, blue light, etc. I really like this for my combo skin because it’s a lightweight gel that contains four different types of hyaluronic acid and keeps my skin hydrated and plump but not oily or sticky. I use this every morning after my toners and before oils/moisturizers. 🌼 Purito Green Level Safe Sun: Never forget sunscreen. It’s the absolute most important product you can use to protect your skin. I love this because it’s affordable, lightweight, and doesn’t leave a white cast. I apply this after moisturizer in the mornings (and don’t forget to reapply every 2 hours)
