Prime example of drugstore killing it!
Prime example of drugstore killing it!
This is the FLOWER - Shimmer & Strobe Highlighting Palette . It is AMAZING! The powders are so creamy, smooth, and blend able. You can build them up to be blinding or subtle depending on the look you’re going for. This trio includes a pale champagne, pink, and gold, making it a good option for a variety of skin tones. There is a slightly deeper trio available for deeper skin tones, but only available on Flower’s website (not cool). These highlighters are some of the best available anywhere. They kick high end highlighters’ butts! Price an availability: This trio is available at Ulta, Walmart, and various online retailers. I purchased mine at Ulta for about $13. You can use coupons to bring the price down a bit.

Feel like you’re sleeping on this mask? Mehhh
Feel like you’re sleeping on this mask? Mehhh
🌛 The what: This is the Summer Fridays Jet Lag mask. It is available at Sephora, various online retailers, and the brand’s website. 🌛 The details: This multi-purpose mask can be used as a 10-minute mask, overnight mask, moisturizer, and eye cream. It is marketed as being safe for all skin types. It claims to deliver hydration and radiance within one use. This mask contains ceramides, antioxidants, vitamins, and anti-inflammatory ingredients. It also claims to gently exfoliate to reveal radiant, soothed skin. Summer Fridays is cruelty-free. 🌛 My thoughts: One of the most hyped products of 2019 was the jet lag mask. I fell for the hype so hard. I purchased this full size in a set that contained two minis of Summer Fridays other masks. I hadn’t heard a single critical review of this mask. Well, here’s one for ya. This mask didn’t live up to the hype for me. I’ve tried it every single way, and even as a hand cream. It is fairly hydrating, but not enough for my dry winter skin. I took this on vacation two months ago and had forgotten my daily moisturizer. I used this instead. It couldn’t handle even the mild NY winter weather. I’ve used this overnight many times. It doesn’t irritate my skin, which is great, but it also doesn’t deliver on hydration. It does make my skin more radiant. I think I’ll like this more in warmer months. It has a creamy texture that does feel soothing. There isn’t much of a scent, but it should be noted this contains peppermint, which can be irritating for some. I will use this up but wouldn’t repurchase. 🌛 The price: $48 for full size, $25 for mini (Mine is full size)

Amazing drugstore blushes! {Milani}
Amazing drugstore blushes! {Milani}
🚨 The what: These are 3 of the Milani baked blushes. I have the shades “dolce pink”, “rose d’oro”, and “luminoso”. They are available at Ulta, Target, drugstores, various online retailers, and the brand’s website. 🚨 The details: These blushes claim to be pigmented, yet buildable. They are made in Italy and are sunbaked, giving them a baked texture and appearance. Most of them contain shimmer. 🚨 My thoughts: These are amazing! I’ve had “luminoso” (pale peach) for at least 4 years. It still performs well and looks great on my fair-light skin. “Rose d’oro” (berry w/shimmer) and “dolce pink” (pink w/shimmer) are also gorgeous and perform well, but should be noted that the shimmer can be visible on the skin, so avoid these shades if that’s not your jam. I think they make my face look so glowy! They are buildable, making them good options for different skin tones (except luminoso, which would be too light for deep skin tones). Swipe for swatches! 🚨 The price: $8-10 depending where you purchase them. Look for coupons/sales to save $. 5/5⭐️

Regretful purchase: Hourglass vanish stick
Regretful purchase: Hourglass vanish stick
⚡️ The what: This is the Hourglass vanish stick foundation. Mine is the shade “alabaster”. This product is available at Sephora, online retailers, and the brand’s website. ⚡️ The details: This foundation claims to be full-coverage, have a natural finish, long-wearing, and waterproof. The product is shaped like a triangle for ease of use and fast application. Hourglass is cruelty-free, and this product is vegan. ⚡️ My thoughts: So....I regret this purchase. This foundation stick was really, really hyped about 2 years ago. I had a sample size in a different shade that I used up and really loved. My feelings changed when I purchased a full size. This foundation is easy to apply. It blends very easily and the formula is creamy. It is full coverage and looks amazing for about an hour or two. Afterwards, my face starts to look both greasy and dry in various areas. It’s so strange! My foundation looks like total garbage after the end of my work day (about 9 hours after application). It is NOT waterproof. This foundation also transfers easily. I did purchase this for 20% off during a Sephora sale, but I still regret this because I don’t like using it. I’ve been able to use half of it by mixing it with another foundation, which helps increase longevity and combat the dryness/greasiness. Not worth the hype! ⚡️ The price: $46 USD 3/5⭐️HOURGLASS - Vanish Seamless Finish Foundation Stick

The Inkey List HA serum
The Inkey List HA serum
🐠 The what: This is The Inkey List hyaluronic acid serum. It is available at Sephora and some online retailers. 🐠 The details: This serum contains 2% hyaluronic acid and matrixyl 3000 (a peptide), and is designed to hydrate and plump the skin. Hyaluronic acid is beneficial for all skin types. This serum also claims to reduce the appearance of fine lines. HA serums are best used while skin is damp, as HA is a humectant (draws moisture from its surroundings). 🐠 My thoughts: I must have been living under a rock because I had never used a true hyaluronic acid serum. I’d used products that included it, but not by itself. I’ve been using this for a little over a month. This came in a The Inkey List set that I purchased for myself during the holiday season. I really like it! After I apply toner and my skin is still damp, I apply this either on its own or with another serum, like vitamin C in the AM and niacinamide in the PM. This does help to draw moisture into my dry winter skin, and my skin looks more plump. I can’t speak to fine lines, as I do not have any. The texture of the serum is thin and it has no scent. The only thing I don’t care for is the bottle design. It’s easy to dispense too much. The price point is awesome, and I would repurchase. 🐠 The price: $7.99 for 1oz (at Sephora) 4.5/5⭐️

Two of my fave Colourpop palettes
Two of my fave Colourpop palettes
I have a few Colourpop palettes, but two of my favorites are the Yes, Please and Sweet Talk palettes. Yes, Please has a warm, cozy color scheme with rich oranges, gold, and red tones. It’s perfect for year-round. Sweet Talk has is coral-toned and contains 1 super shock eyeshadow and 2 pressed glitters amongst the regular pressed shadows. I personally am not a fan of pressed glitter, especially in a palette, but I have used them. The shadows blend so easily and are nicely pigmented. Price and availability: $18 each. Both palettes are available through the Colourpop website. Interestingly, Yes, Please has risen in price. This palette used to be $12, which is what I paid for it 🤔. The formula and quality are worth the price increase. Yes, Please 5/5⭐️, Sweet Talk 4.5/5⭐️

A Match (maker) Made in Heaven
A Match (maker) Made in Heaven
This trio of face makeup new from Bite Beauty is wonderful! They have a decent shade range, clean formulas (except WTF with the fragrance), and gorgeous packaging. The foundation is a great match for me at L30 and sinks in and disappears into the skin for the true skin like finish. It’s a thicker cream formula but it bounces on with a beauty blender effortlessly. The primer is pretty standard but great. I got the hydrating one and it really boosts the skins hydration with its jelly like texture and made the foundation grip and last longer! Not sure about it doing anything else tho. I love love the powder compact. It’s not cakey at all on the skin and dusts over nicely with a fluffy brush. It adds a pinch of coverage to the skin and mattifies without sacrificing any glow I think I found my new fav everyday face products! MY GO TO BODY LOTIONS
MY GO TO BODY LOTIONS
KORRES - Guava Body Butter KOPARI - Coconut Body Milk (Athen Club Dewy Body Lotion does not have a tag 5/5 stars) Korres: This product is my go-to for special occasions because it really does feel luxurious and smells wonderful! I want to save this for when I want to smell really good because the scent is so unique yet sweet and pleasant. This lotion claims to be a deeply hydrating body butter. I agree with this claim because it is super moisturizing and thick. I really enjoy that because it leaves my skin with a glow! I love putting this on my legs when I’m wearing a skirt or dress. Kopari: The coconut body milk is advertised as a quick absorbing body lotion that keeps your skin soft all day long. I definitely agree! I chose this as my intense hydrating body lotion because it really absorbs into your skin. Because of this, you can layer the lotion to create an intensely hydrated effect. I layer this every night with another moisturizer and it works amazing! It locks in the moisture so I wake up with super soft skin! The scent on this is subtle yet a sweet coconut that I enjoy very much. Athena Club. Their Dew Body Lotion is advertised as a fast absorbing lotion with skin-loving ingredients. I love the natural scent of this! It’s not too overpowering. I also love how it doesn’t leave your skin too sticky. For this reason, it is my everyday lotion that I reach for almost every morning! I am also obsessed with the dewy glow as rhe name suggests. It gives me the look of well hydrated skin and I cannot get enough of it!

MAYBELLINE - Maybelline Dream Urban Cover Foundation SPF50 30ml 🔸Coverage was more medium with a natural finish ✅ super lightweight, liquidity texture. I love that it has SPF 50 🗣makeup SPF alone is not enough!!! People don’t apply enough foundation to make the SPF the most effective ❌ didn’t love the smell of the foundation, it smelled like sunscreen 💰 $12.99 and comes in 16 shades REVLON - PhotoReady Candid Natural Finish Anti-Pollution Foundation ✅ coverage is medium but buildable to full and has a natural finish ✅ light but creamy texture, easy to blend and work with 🔸 no SPF ✅ easy to use pump packaging and no funny smell! 💰$10.99 and comes in 31 shades!!!! 🙌this foundation is the winner 🥳 I really like it and you can’t beat the price 🗣both foundation claim to be “anti-pollution” because they have antioxidants 👍

| Glossier Cloud Paint - Beam $18 | Claims: seamless (yes), buildable gel-cream blush that's easy to wear (yes) and gives you a flushed from within glow (YES). Texture: gel-cream I use this more during the spring/summer time because of the pink hue that appears on my skin. Sometimes if I'm feelin a little extra or just want some extra color, I'll mix this in with Dusk. It is SO easy to wear and can be applied with a brush/sponge/fingers. Definitely recommend it to those who want something that can be flawlessly applied in no time and love a pink-tinted blush. Glossier. - Cloud Paint

Overrated “lip balm”
Overrated “lip balm”
I gave into the hype and purchased these two Glossier balm dot coms. A lot of people claimed they were highly moisturizing, and it saved their dry lips... but I don’t agree with that statement at all. Firstly, the applicator?? There’s no applicator... and I really dislike squeezing it onto my finger and then distributing it on my lips then my finger is left all sticky and oily? I really don’t like that feeling. Secondly, it’s basically vaseline. So really there’s nothing special about it. Plus, times where I had super dry chapped lips and I put this on, it tend to sink into my dry cracks and making my lips feel more dry than before???? Honestly all these lip balms are is that there aesthetically pleasing to look at and take pictures of. I do not think they are worth the money at all. There are much better lip balms in the market that are way cheaper. I would not recommend it or repurchase. On a brighter note, they do smell very nice lol. I rate it 2 stars (+1 for smell, +1 for cute packaging) 🤔 Glossier. - Balm Dotcom
