I’ve recently discovered and learned lots of new information on skincare from skincare specialists and dermatologist however I am not a specialist or dermatologist and discovered- a lot of the products that yes did work for my skin, in the long run we’re actually damaging! So here’s my little update 😉 -you will find some posts I have placed a 🎃 as I recommend the product still but made some slight changes to the post so make sure to check that out! - I have taken some posts down of products I no longer recommend due to many reasons but one main concern I noticed in my old skincare- FRAGRANCE!!! Gee wiz - pay attention to your skincare ingredients!!! I was the kind of person who never looked at the ingredients... GIRL WHY??? You are putting this on your face you need to be aware of what you are applying to that baby! * this is just my lil update on why I haven’t been posting and why I took posts down and just some info on why I’ve made drastic changes*🧖🏼‍♀️

This has to be my favorite “skincare tool” that I own! My steamer!!!!!!!! This steamer has made my skincare routine 10xs better! And leaves me with that heavenly glow ✨✨ that I love!! Humble Beginnings ✨ Before I invested in my steamer I did it the “old fashioned way” I would boil some steaming hot water, get my favorite essential oil, which would be either lavender, tea tree, or eucalyptus, and if I felt really fancy a lemon & or an orange. Then I would get me a towel put it over my head & let the steam penetrate my face for like 10-15mins! So my appreciation for my steamer is REAL! Steaming Benefits ✨💨🥰 Because I have dry skin, I try to create as much hydration as I can for my skin. This is where steaming comes in. When you think hydration & moisture you automatically think WATER 💦... at least I do🤷🏽‍♀️🤷🏽‍♀️ The steam generates all that. But steaming is good while cleansing because it really opens them pores & gets down in there. & it’s also good for extracting too. If you have a blackhead, pimple, or whatever evil critter on your face, the steam helps bring it to a head which makes it easier to extract! Where Did I Get It 👀 I got my steamer off of Amazon for $35 . But they had others that came with extraction tools & the cute little headbands with the bunny ears. I can see me purchasing another steamer real soon! Maybe the one that allows you to lay down and enjoy the steam as if you’re in a spa like setting! IF YOU DON’T HAVE A STEAMER I WOULD SUGGEST YOU INVEST IN ONE!!!!! It takes your routine to a whole different level! And it’s just relaxing!!!!!!!!!

acne face mask
acne face mask
Yes To Tomatoes Detoxifying Charcoal Mask Bar Function: To detoxify has remove impurities from skin to help acne. Target concerns: Acne, congested skin Texture/Consistency: Hard, solid My overall experience: I got this because I wanted to try out a charcoal mask to help with my acne prone skin. At first it applies okay but now I can’t even get it to come off the bar to get on my brush (it took forever to get enough for the 3rd picture). I didn’t notice any differences with my skin and was disappointed. I only paid $2, so I wasn’t out any money so I wasn’t mad. Did I like it? No, I had no changes in my skin, it was hard to apply it from the bar too. Would I recommend it? I wish just because of how good of a price and amount. Sadly I wouldn’t recommend it:( Worth it? Nope, It’s $6 for 2oz./56g. That’s an amazing price and a lot of product that would last a good while but it sucked😂 yesto - Tomatoes Detoxifying Charcoal Mask Bar Plus Brush Paraben free Silicone free SLS free Leaping Bunny Certified 95% natural ingredients

Daiso Konjac Sponge
Daiso Konjac Sponge
Daiso Konjac Sponge (3.5/5 stars) (Week 12.9-12.15; face cleanser tool; product unavailable in Cherie catalog) Before coming across this product, I had no clue what “Konjac” was. The packaging promised to unclog my pores, so I hoped it would help my acne. My best guess was that it was some deep sea sponge harvested to save my complexion. To my surprise, turns out that Konjac is actually the root vegetable, Amorphophallus Konjac. I knew veggies were good for my skin, but this isn’t what I’d pictured. Initially, I was afraid that it’d be super abrasive as the dry sponge is incredibly stiff and scratchy. But research did say that originally, Japanese farmers used these sponges to clean their babies’ skin. I soon learned that the trick is hydration. Once wetted, this product transforms into the bounciest, squishiest little sponge. A dab of cleanser, and I was on my way, enjoying the most delightful cleansing experience I’ve had in a while. This has to be the funnest facial tool I’ve owned to date! My routine cleanser would never lather, but this little guy produced those bubbles I’d been longing! I also felt the gentlest exfoliation ever. Afterwards, I kept soaking the sponge and bouncing and sweeping it across my cheeks and forehead to wash away the lather. I even gave my neck some love. I definitely spent way too much time over the sink with this! Magically, with konjac the water evaporated off my skin leaving it minimally dry and overall, fairly hydrated. I would give this product out to all my friends for the experience alone! It’s super affordable and will transform your cleansing routine. The only downside is that I didn’t see the biggest difference with my pores as they were still rather noticeable. However, paired with a better cleanser, the konjac may have done the trick. It definitely beats just using your hands though!

Skin care journal
Skin care journal
If anybody has a bad short term memory like I do, this will help! 🙂 I use a mini calendar and mark down what skin care I did on which days, so I can keep track of everything that I’ve done and don’t lose track. Before I started doing this a year ago, I was accidentally doing a clay mask up to 4x a WEEK! 😫 My skin was so dehydrated. 😰 I will admit to having a bad short term memory and I will forget what I have used on my face if I do not writer it down! I write down each skin care product I use, acids, masks and serums. Except for my cleanser and moisturizer. chemicals exfoliants, serums, etc. and especially any new skin care product! To see how my skin has been reacting to it. I just think a skin care journal would benefit anybody. Even if you have a good memory. Another way I have seen people keep track is by writing down a day of the week on each product container, so then they remember that they are supposed to do it that day of the week, every week. The journal is just easier for me, personally. You don’t even need it to be a calendar. A notebook or even a piece of paper would do! 💖
