Makeup Routine for Enlarged Pores & Scaring
Addressing my skin concerns with my makeup is simple with the right products. I have combination skin so my pores are larger in my T-zone, but I also have dryness around my nose. Typically, I aim to address the appearance of my pores when doing my makeup. I always will use the correct foundation to cover up my hyperpigmentation and redness. When doing my makeup, I like to start with a primer to set base for the next product. This helps with a smooth transition for the foundation. I use Touch in Sol No Porblem primer if I am looking to smooth out my skin and texture. This primer is amazing at minimizing the appearance of my pores and fine lines. I apply a small amount to my fingers and focus most of the product in my t-zone. You will instantly see a difference, it is almost like a filter on your face. I will warn oily skin types this primer contains silicone which can be clogging for your pores, so I would recommend sticking to a water based primer such as the Milk Makeup Hydrogrip primer which is Silicone and oil free. When applying foundation, to solve my redness concern I will use a full coverage foundation such as Huda Beauty Faux Filter foundation. You only need one pump for your whole face. It will cover your redness and scaring with a little amount. I will use a beauty blender to apply so it's evenly dispersed. This foundation leaves your skin with a natural beautiful finish. This foundation also lasts all day long leaving your skin flawless and smooth for hours. Sometimes my redness will peak through with certain foundations but with this one it does not. If you have dry skin, look for a hydrating primer or foundation with ingredients such as Hyaluronic acid or vitamin E. Vitamin E is also great for scars and uneven tones. For sensitive skin types look for ingredients in your products such as aloe or green tea extract. I love the combination of these two products together to target my larger pores and scars. They layer on top of each other so well and help me achieve the flawless base I look for, while helping with my skincare goals.

Mix them!Trust me!
I am combination dry skin with acne and acne scars. And my complexion is often darkened by sleep problems. So Concealer is very important to me. But most concealers are usually very dry. If you add the foundation liquid with a strong concealer, it will easily bring a dirty feeling to your makeup. I always use Kat von D’s foundation, because its Concealer effect is really strong, whether it is acne, acne scars, redness and freckles are all covered up for you. But there is a problem with this kind of product with high Concealer, that is, the texture is sticky, and the foundation will not be well coated on the face. And especially in winter, even if I have done a good job on moisturizing, the skin is still particularly dry. So once I tried to mix Mac's primer with Kat Von D’s foundation, and then put them together on my face. The effect of surprise appeared, my face did not dry! The ratio of Mac with Kat Von D is probably 1:2. When you mix it together, you will obviously notice that your foundation’s color become lighter, but this will not affect the strength of concealer. After mixing, the foundation fluid becomes more hydrating and your complexion become brighter due to Mac’s effect. This method has a better performance than before, which you apply the primer firstly and then use the foundation. Mixing them and try them, you will find amazing! Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer
I don’t use this as a moisturizer, I use this as a light coverage foundation. I definitely fell for the hype with this product. I was totally not in the market for a tinted moisturizer. Using this alone as a moisturizer did not make my skin feel moisturized at all during the winter, perhaps when I try this in the summer it would work. I have post inflammatory hyperpigmentation for my previous acne. This tinted moisturizer does make the scars appear a bit faded. I’d recommend this product if you’re looking for something lightweight and to even out your complexion. I did wear this during a workout and my sweat made streaks...I was able to dab it away but you could still see the pathway the sweat made. So if using this in the summer time I’d definitely set it! Foundation Battle! Bobbi Brown VS. Estée Lauder
I have combination skin with an oily T-zone and dry cheeks, which become especially dry in winter. I am pretty satisfied with both of these liquid foundations. 💖💖They're both moisturizing and can be easily blended using a beauty blender. Estée Lauder Futurist Aqua Brilliance lasts longer and stays on the whole day. It is a life-saver for people with dry skin. I'll mix it with a drop of Aesop - Parsley Seed Anti-Oxidant Serum if I still find it a bit dry so that it's more moisturizing. 💓💓 BOBBI BROWN - Intensive Skin Serum Foundation SPF 40 on the other hand, is lighter and makes my face look naturally moisturized. For the same reason, it doesn't conceal well nor does it last long, so proper pre and post-makeup is crucial. 💦💦

🌟Dry skin/acne friendly makeup primer🌟
🌟What are the claims? SMASHBOX Photo finish primer oil is a ultra light, fast absorbing face oil that doubles as a face primer & giving your skin a moisturized glow! It is for dry, sensitive or combo skin, & all skin tones! It’s specifically formulated for, dullness, dryness, mature skin & uneven texture! 🌟Texture/Consistency? It’s a very thin, light oil. It’s very smooth & not sticky at all. 🌟My thoughts? I got this in October of 2019 & I’ve been loving it all winter! I have one for myself & one for my makeup kit & they both get used so much! 😍 It is so smooth & doesn’t feel oily at all on my skin. It doesn’t make my makeup look patchy or crease either. It’s been great for my sensitive skin, and hasn’t irritated my acne either! It has nourishing oils, jojoba, almond, apricot & sunflower seed oils to help aid in natural antioxidants so it’s helped my acne tremendously! This stuff is super bomb & has no smell in my opinion so it doesn’t affect me at all! It looks great under all foundations that I’ve tried it with, and my clients love it too! Great for clients with sensitive & irritated skin, or dry mature skin! It has a dropper application & a glass bottle which I really like as well. Defiantly would recommend! 🌟Price Vs. Size? It’s 1oz for $42, which is pretty hefty! But it’s a skincare/makeup double so it’s worth it! smashbox - Photo Finish Primer Oil

ACNE-FRIENDLY MAKE UP-KOSAS
Kosas - Color & Light: Pressed Powder Blush & Highlighter Duo I can say that I love all of the Kosas products because they’re acne-friendly. I have sensitive combination skin and it easily breaks out when I use makeup products. But their products doesn’t make my skin break out which I’m super impressed! I really like this blush and I like that it has clean ingredients! It is lovely and looks like a natural flush. The highlighter is a bonus and the palette will last a long time. It’s a good everyday blush!✨ What is it: An ultra-blendable powder blush and highlighter palette in versatile duos of balancing, brightening, foolproof, clean, and skin-cushioning formulas. Who is it for: All skin types. How to use: Using a brush, apply blush to the apples of the cheeks, and blend up and out.
Kosas-Color & Light: Pressed Powder Blush & Highlighter Duo
I wear makeup basically everyday, so I’ve been around the block with the primers 👀😂 I have combo skin that has an oily T-zone, but can occasionally get dry. I also have acne scars that are along the sides of my cheeks. Makeup typically wears about 8 or so hours for me before it starts to disappear or look oily. Now let’s interview the candidates in this little segment... . BECCA - Skin Love Brighten & Blur Primer is a slightly beige colored primer that is heavily fragranced. I can’t quite put a name on the scent, but like a floral. It has a gel type consistency that easily absorbs into the skin without pilling. When it dries down, it feels incredibly lightweight, like you’d put powder on and not a gel. It blurs the look of pores for a silky smooth canvas and contains Glow Nectar Brightening Hydra Complex that helps protect against pollution by using antioxidants and also hydrates the skin, giving the skin some radiance. I noticed that this made my makeup break down faster and look oily more quicker than other primers. I did enjoy the lovely scent, but don’t think it helped improve my makeup wear time at all. It did help make my pores look not as noticeable, but the brightening aspect did not work with my skin unfortunately. The full size is $39 for 1.0 oz. . Next up is Milk MAKEUP - Hydro Grip Primer is a clear gel-like primer that hydrates and holds makeup in place for all-day wear. It leaves a sticky feeling on the face that helps foundation and base products stay on. I noticed I used less foundation whenever I’ve been using this. I do notice that I do use a lot of product for priming though, so I’ll run through this little mini pretty quick (luckily got a full size in one of the Cherie giveaway boxes!). It doesn’t have a scent to me. I’ve been enjoying using this, but not sure yet if I’d purchase. The full size is $30 for 1.52 oz or the travel size for $15 for 0.33 oz. . After the interviews, I wouldn’t go with the Becca primer. It’s not good for all-day wear or long-lasting makeup, which is what I go for. I don’t want to have to worry about my foundation wearing off or looking weird. I also prefer that my products don’t have a scent, although it is nice. It did blur my pores, but there are other primers that can do that too for cheaper. I wouldn’t purchase it!
