SUNSCREEN ROUND-UP ☀️
Ever since I was a pre-teen, my mom stressed the importance of sunscreen and protecting my skin from sun damage. Luckily I listened to my mom and started wearing sunscreen every. single. day. starting at 13. At almost a decade later, I must say that visibly there aren’t many changes or differences in my skin from when I was younger besides the normal aging of skin like pore size and acne breakouts. Although, I have seen a difference in my skin compared to some friends who don’t wear sunscreen on a daily basis. There are many factors that can effect your skin but sun protection is a main one that can be easily avoided to prevent premature wrinkles, sun spots, hyperpigmentation, etc. Sunscreen is a huuuge interest of mine so here are four super different formulas to compare! SKINCEUTICALS - Physical Fusion Uv Defense SPF 50 SPF Type: Physical Key ingredients: Zinc Oxide & Titanium Dioxide This one almost feels like a dry oil. It has that super emollient and runny texture that blends into the skin easily. It looks tinted when it first comes out of the bottle but it doesn’t offer any coverage when applied. I love this one especially when my skin is feeling a little lack luster because it does leave behind a glow! ILIA - Super Serum Skin Tint SPF 40 SPF Type: Physical Key ingredients: Non-nano Zinc Oxide, Squalane, Niacinamide & Hyaluronic Acid This is what I would call a tinted moisturizer with SPF. I wouldn’t use this on its own to protect my skin because with products that offer coverage, it’s hard to know how much product is actually SPF 40. We tend to apply only as much product as you need the coverage. This is a great topper for sunscreen though- a step to add a tint to the skin plus additional sun protection. The texture is super lightweight and runny (more like a thin serum). BIOSSANCE - Squalane + Mineral SPF 45 (old formulation) SPF Type: Physical Key ingredients: Squalane, Titanium Dioxide & Zinc Oxide This sunscreen is a much thicker consistency than the above two. It goes on like a classic “sunscreen lotion” and definitely leaves behind a white cast (even on my skin tone which is pretty light!). If you can get past the white cast, it’s an amazing physical sunscreen that offers great protection. The white cast just makes my skin look ashy and grey, which if I’m wearing a full face of foundation is fine, but because I rarely wear foundation I don’t prefer it. Supergoop! - Unseen Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 40 SPF Type: Chemical This is a clear dimethicone-feeling cream that reminds me of a smoothing primer. It helps to blur out pores and texture and leaves the skin looking soft-matte. It’s probably the driest feeling on the skin compared to the above sunscreens but is a great option for everyday. I usually prefer physical SPFs to chemical, but this is the best chemical one I’ve tried!

I used this product only once
I rarely use leave-in conditioners. I used this product only once I didn't notice a lot of difference in my hair but did like that it made it look shiny and tamed the flyaways. I've seen such a difference since using it in my hair. AVEDA - Damage Remedy Daily Hair Repair This one is lighter than most hair conditioners and doesn't leave hair sticky. It hydrates my hair and after one use I can already tell a difference in the condition of my hair. This actually improves the texture on the first use. A little goes a long away and there is no need to slather your hands with it before applying. It is long lasting, smells great and affordable. I use it if my hair is particularly dry or if I am going to heat style. I. Great feel when used. After showering I scrunch my hair with a cotton towel (it cuts down on frizz) to dry it. I focus more on the ends of my hair.Just be careful not to push too much out of the container. You don’t want it to weigh your hair down. This product is wonderful ,Love the way it makes my hair feel. Drugstore cost with salon results! I used it alone to repair my hair and in tandem with other products to style. Iit leaves your hair feeling soft and silky smooth after each use. It is very effective in conditioning dry hair. Overall, The price is great! It's helped my Damage hair and help to get the best shine. And my split ends didn't seem as noticeable even with just one use of this product! I‘ll definitely continue to buy this product in the future and recommend this product to anyone looking for something that will not only protect their hair but also make it manageable and less damaged by heat.

My Skincare Story: Eczema +
Over the years, I’ve dealt with acne and dry skin, but in the more recent years, nothing has affected me, in terms of my skin, like eczema and the resulting infections!!! Staph anyone? From November 2017 to August 2018, I’ve had bouts of the worst flare ups in my life. Let me just say, that period of time has probably been the hardest period of my life: I got into a car accident, I’ve got into a few gut-wrenching emotional fights with people, and the worst thing of all, my father passed away... while I was still finishing university. I had to miss 2 weeks of classes due to my skin condition because it was painful to move when the eczema was on my body from head to toe 🤕 To say that I was under a lot of stress is an understatement. Eczema is still a pretty mysterious health issue to most, but the health community is being very adamant about finding its different root causes. One thing for sure, it’s definitely not just something that appears on your skin “just because.” I believe that my skin was expressing all of the ways I was feeling. Stress literally compromises the skin barrier with stress hormones like cortisol. It was also hard to take care of myself, I began eating a lot of fried foods, so my gut was impacted by “leaky gut” syndrome where I developed many food sensitivities. Finding some of these answers through research, many appointments with various health professionals, and self exploration, I have hope that eczema isn’t something that I’ll have to deal with forever. Though I still deal with some eczema flare ups from time to time, it’s never completely out of control like the ones displayed in the pictures. I’m still finding ways to heal myself, as it isn’t linear, but in the meanwhile my favourite eczema management product is purO3 - Ozonated Olive Oil (only a 4 ⭐️ because it’s smelly!! I wouldn’t wear this on a date or out n about) Ozonated olive oil is a one-ingredient saviour that has great skin healing properties. It reduces inflammation, kills Staphylococcus aureus infections, and aids in quicker repair of the skin. I start seeing results within days of using it. You can also use this product orally (gum infections), to heal wounds from cuts and bug bites, as spot treatment for acne, etc. It even helps reduce hyperpigmentation scars from eczema and acne!!! 🎉 let’s just say this is my staple, like some would claim coconut oil.

The secret to long, healthy hair!✨💜
YES, that’s my hair! And I’m going to share with you some tips on how I got my hair to look like this! PSA: I’m not a hairdresser ❤️ Your shampoo DOES MATTER- stop using drug store shampoo/conditioner that’s just making your hair dried out and greasy. Some great and still affordable brands are PAUL MITCHELL - Clarifying Shampoo Two BIOSILK - Silk Therapy Shampoo MATRIX - Ultra Hydrasource Shampoo (I’m currently using the Paul Mitchell shampoo/conditioner) Tip: going to stores like marshals or TJ max can help save money on these products. ❤️ Cut the heat 🚫🔥 heat can damage your hair! And if you have to use heat styling tools PLEASE use a heat protectant spray. ❤️ Wash your hair only 2-3 times a week, you don’t want to strip your hair of its natural oils!! ❤️ Use hair oil or hair serum EVERY👏🏼SINGLE👏🏼DAY! You don’t need much, maybe a little more then a pea size just enough to hydrate your hair and give it some shine🌟 I like BIOSILK - Silk Therapy Original ogx - Renewing Moroccan Argan Oil Extra Penetrating Hair Oil I’ve also noticed while using these products my hair has less knots and frizz ❤️ Don’t underestimate the power of a silk pillow case. At night you move around and your hair can get snagged and break with a cotton pillowcase, the silk allows your hair to slide off and is better for your skin too ❤️ OLIVE OIL is your new best friend you never knew you had. I soak my hair in olive oil once a month and it really helps with growth. (I made a separate post on this if you want to know more!) ❤️ Most important⚠️ PLEASE DO NOT color your hair with box dye!!! Ahhh this is so so bad for your hair. If you need a change please go see a hair stylist to talk about what’s best for YOUR hair needs, your hair will thank you! ❤️ Don’t forger to trim the dead ends. I know it sounds so simple and everyone knows this buts it’s so important for the health of your hair and makes your hair look healthier and helps your hair grow faster! ❤️ Don’t forget about hair masks!! There’s so many different brands and options for every hair type. One of my favorites Is the brand HASK. HASK - Keratin Protein Smoothing Deep Conditioner Packette the packs are so big that I can use half and get 2 uses out of it ❤️ What brush are you using?? I only use the Wet brush - Original Detangler because the bristles are so flexible they don’t rip my hair out while I’m brushing while detangling my hair with no problem and can be used on dry hair too not just wet!! I hope this helped! If you have any other good hair tips leave them in the comments below!

Au Revoir Blackheads. You’re not welcome here!
Let’s talk about one my biggest love affairs with skincare, The Aztec Secret Indian Healing Clay mask. Safe to say....a cult favorite. It is an all natural powder clay, made of 100% calcium bentonite; Which is a type of dry, absorbent clay that forms from old volcanic ash. Bentonite clay has been found to remove bodily toxins upon application by absorbing them. Its a vacuum cleaner for things like dirt and oil and hardens on your skin upon a few mins of application. It’s marketed as the worlds most powerful facial with the purpose of deep cleaning the dirtiest of pores and it does not fall short of that. This product has been in my skincare cabinet for a little over 3 years & I wish I had discovered it sooner. When a friend posted it on her IG and swore by it, I ran after work to get it from the Vitamin Shoppe but soon found out I wasn’t the only girl in Manhattan with hopes of flawless skin. Apparently this was when this product had blown up and was sold out everywhere, I ended up finding it at a beauty supply store in Harlem after hours of searching everywhere. Thankfully now, you can find this $9 mask just about anywhere in the city (Whole Foods, Trader Joe’s, Rite Aid, Vitamin Stores, local grocery stores, amazon, etc) Being the girl that’s always had troublesome skin this mask promised to help get rid of any impurities on my face, Blackheads and Acne being top of my list. You mix the powder with either water or apple cider vinegar 1:1 & get this cream like consistency which you then apply to the face and leave on for 10 minutes. You start feeling your face tingle & tighten w/in a few mins & before u know it u need a straw to take a sip of water. It’s unlike any mask I’ve ever tried. After washing your face is a bit red but followed with moisturizer and it’s like a new face. Any active pimples/redness diminish & blackheads are gone. I use this once a week subject to how much trouble my face is giving me and I have seen this mask change my skin. If you haven’t tried this, what are you waiting for?! 5/5

I've tried 2 products for saving hair density, BUT only 1 won my heart...😥
Generally, people who have thin hair or low hair density concern on hair growth, boosting volume and strengthening strands. I used to have a lot volume of hair. But due to variety of reasons, such as staying up late, too much stress, over-processing and heat styling, my hair becomes fragile and prone to breakage. Now my hair is thin and fine. So I really care about hair growth and strength. For my thin hair, I usually choose those products use ingredients that claim to support a healthy scalp, which is more hospitable to hair growth. As far as I know, sulfate-free shampoos with protein-enriched formulas are the best shampoos to support hair growth and reduce thinning. Here are 2 products I want to share with you. 1.KÉRASTASE - Resistance Length Strengthening Shampoo For me, I can buy hair care products from Kérastase without any considering. Because products from this brand always bring me surprise. So does this resistance length strengthening shampoo. This shampoo costs $35 for 250ml. It has a fantastic blue packaging, and the shape of the bottle is shaped as a typical Kérastase product. My hair had improved in strength and texture after using it. I felt like my hair became easier to manage. Its key ingredients creatine and taurine work to strengthen the fibers of the hair and moisturize your scalp. These two hair loss fighter help to reinforce and optimize the density of hair. I like this shampoo and enjoy every time using it. 2.THE BODY SHOP - Ginger Scalp Care Shampoo I was firstly attracted by this shampoo for its 100% vegetarian ingredients. I like the smell of ginger and I thought ginger extract could stimulate hair growth. However, using this for 2 months, this shampoo did nothing significantly to my hair thickness. The texture is watery and runny. It costs $11 for 250ml and $16 for 400ml. If you like organic shampoo and want to deal with hair dandruff, you can try this shampoo. I probably may not buy this product again because it does not help with my thin hair! Any recommendation for more shampoos?
