Things that helped me with acne šŖµ
PureFlower5022
The Cosrx aha and bha toner helped me with exfoliating and letting products absorb better. The CeraVe Resurfacing Retinol helped with my hyperpigmentation and pores. My current favorite Differin Gel is helping me with my dark spots and acne. The Hero Cosmetics Lightning Wand is helping me fade my dark spots and hyperpigmentation. I have used the Netrogena Benzoyle Peroxide for so long and itās helped me control my acne. And lastly The Inky List bha serum helped me with my black and white heads.

Differin progress... is this a purge or what?
Sorry this is gross.. I know my skin isnāt pretty right now.
Today marks the 4th week Iāve been on DIFFERIN - 0.1% Adapalene Acne Treatment Gel Pump and also my new birth control (yaz). I have literally never, EVER seen my skin this awful and angry. Should I stick it out until the and of 12 weeks? Does this look like a purge or just a flat out breakout?! Iām freaking out.. I donāt even want to go outside looking like this.
Iām also using Cetaphil - Cetaphil Moisturizing Cream am and pm, and cleansing with CeraVe - Hydrating Facial Cleanser . Not looking to add any more products. Sometimes I use a hydrating toner.
The dryness and peeling has subsided but the pimples do hurt, my cheeks are tender to the touch and sometimes itchy but that has gotten better over time also. Please help!!!!!
EDIT: i just bought the DIFFERIN - Daily Deep Cleanser BPO 5%, Neutrogena - On-the-Spot Acne Treatmentand HERO COSMETICS - Mighty Patch Original for Madewellto hopefully combat the horrible breakouts pictured above. just praying it doesnt over dry my skin.

BEWARE OF NEUTROGENA PIMPLE CREAM!!!
Neutrogena - On-the-Spot Acne Treatment
I had ran out of my normal acne cream and I didnāt have time to get a new one, so I used this one that my sister used. Yesterday I got hives on my cheek, but I assumed that it was just from face wash that wasnāt fully washed off. So, I took an Alavert and went on with my day. Last night before I went to bed, I put the treatment on and as soon as I put it on, it started burning and turned into this allergic reaction. Iām not sure what this was caused by, but I was curious if this happened to anyone else. I generally do not have sensitive skin, so this was a shock for me. I will not be buying this product again due to this reaction that I got.

Acne, blackheads, texture?? TRY THIS!
COSRX - AHA/BHA Clarifying Treatment Toner is part of my PM routine. I have dark spots on forehead and cheeks, small bumps on my chin and cheek area.
°this is an exfoliating toner with both AHA (glycolic acid) & BHA (salacylic acid). AHA exfoliates the top layer of the skin while the BHA works on a deeper level to clear gunk out of your pores. This toner has brightened up my skin, helped lighten dark spots, rid my face of any bumps and my pores do look smaller!
°Always moisturize after using AHA's or BHA's !!
#
BEWARE!! This toner can be very irritating & drying. It might be too irritating for sensitive skin and should not be used on or to cure open acne sores.
COSRX - AHA/BHA Clarifying Treatment Tonerwill be my go to PM toner! I also want to try their snail mucin toner. I really like this product line. How about you?

My Differin Journey (9 weeks in and STRUGGLING)
Hi all,
Around the first week of December 2020 I decided to start trying Differin Adapalene Gel to address my skin concerns. As some of my previous posts explain, Iāve struggled badly with oily skin, blackheads, extremely enlarged pores, and occasional acne, most of my teenage years and into my adult life (Iām 26 now). I have tried SO many products to try and help curb my issues (see previous posts for examples), and though theyāve helped a little, Iāve never been fully satisfied with the results... my skin is just stubborn! I decided to swap my retinol for Differin to see if it would target my issues a little bit better and JEEZ has this been a journey so far...
So to be completely blunt, Iām discouraged. If you look at the attached photo, the picture with all the acne is me NOW. Yes, RIGHT NOW. The one WITHOUT explosive acne is my BEFORE Differin skin.
Okay, now Iāll get into it...
So itās been about 9 weeks since Iāve started on Differin. In the beginning I noticed my skin was starting to feel really sensitive, which it never is. Any other product (Niacinamide, Hyaluronic Acid, etc.) felt like burning when I put it on, which is incredibly strange for me. My skin has been consistently pink ever since. I immediately stopped using any BHA, AHA or any harsh acid while using Differin and made sure to SLATHER on reparative moisturizer to help repair my skin barrier. Basically my skin routine needed to stripped to the bare minimum. Throughout the weeks, my skin flaked and peeled excessively, especially with makeup on. It looked SO dry and awful and felt stingy underneath (still does). Then about 3 weeks in, the purging started. It started off slow and erupted to where itās at now on February 11, 2021. Purge pimples are so strange compared to my sporadic cystic acne bumps Iām used to getting. Purging shows up in a big breakout cluster of pimples, mostly small (not always), but definitely painful and brutal looking for me. Over the weeks it just got worse and worse. Iām getting pimples all in the same place for the most part ā my lower cheek areas. It has been tumultuous and my skin has never looked this terrible in my whole life.
Iāve done my research on Differin, and everyone says it is completely normal for your skin to get worse before it gets better (for me, A LOTTTTT worse). Iām hoping this is true because I really want to stick this out ā Iāve already gone through the worst of it, might as well wait it out a bit longer.
If youāre interested in Differin, just be prepared for what youāre getting into! Iām sure this will all be worth it but wanted to share my experience and help others with the SHOOKness that may or may not happen. I will definitely share updates in the future with hopefully better results!
Anyone try Differin before? Was it this hard? Did your purging last this long? Words of encouragement?
Thank you!!

Before and Afters still in progress....
I truly donāt like doing before and afters especially when it looks like thereās barely any progress but I promise you my skin FEELS so much better than it looks and Iāve seen some amazing progress! Iāve tagged the products I feel have helped the most recently. It takes patience but little progress is still PROGRESS šš¼šš¼šš¼šš¼

Hero Cosmetics... Hormonal Acne.. Bruh Girl
Disclaimer I am not a professional or influencer and anything but a 29 Year Old Bruhh Girl with a skincare addiction and battle with Sh***y skin for my entire life!!!
I recently moved from NY to FL about 7 months ago and my skin did not agree with the change, or I have just entered into a new phase... Iām thinking Hormonal Acne but I have not been seen by any professionals...
Since Aug 2020 I have been on the hunt like seriously Iāve been hunting down the elite skincare routine for my skin!!!
Yes I spent way too much money on legit every TikTok trend my boyfriend every week would be like ālet me guess TikTok made u buy itā but all in all he supports the chase since he knows how much it means to me to have that glowing smooth skin...
Also I should add Iām an extreme picker like itās terrible
I hope youāve enjoyed this rant... let me know if youād like to see more products Iāve purchased ā¤ļø
#Hero Cosmetics - Clear Collective Trio[products]#[FiveStars]
This stuff is just pure magic, itās affordable $35 for the set, a little goes a long way, packaging is beautiful, and just works so well.
Iāve been using this set AM / PM for the last 7 days and I can already set see such a difference š I finally feel like I have found a simple and affordable line of products that just do the job!
The only thing I didnāt love at first was that all of the products have absolutely no scent, and the cream felt a little thick but you seriously only need a pea size for full face!
HERO COSMETICS - Mighty Patch Original for Madewell
These are life savers, and the 24 pack is only $8, like Iāve mentioned Iām a picker! Iāve been really forcing myself to remember to use these first signs of a pimple and whelp they never disappoint. Plus itās kinda satisfying waking up seeing that they worked and peeling off the patch and no longer having a painful bump šš»šš»
HERO COSMETICS - Lightening Wand
I purchased the travel size of this product to give it a try, since I am a picker often my post pimple healing phase can last weeks of redness / scabs ... this has deff been helping with the redness and healing period but after some reading I think I will be giving the Rescue Balm a try. The lighting wand is easy to use but the travel is $10 and full size $20, and the Rescue Balm is $13, personally I feel like this may be more useful for post acne scars rather than healing process.

Exfoliation 101
Letās chat about exfoliation and how often you should when it comes to your face š§š¾āāļø
ā¢
When in doubt 1 to 2 times a week is the best way to go, however it depends on the formulation of an exfoliating product šš½
ā¢
In between those days of exfoliation my go to is keeping my skin hydrated, moisturized and canāt hurt to add in some calming/soothing ingredients š
ā¢
If you arenāt sure how often to use a product Iād definitely check out the instructions on the box of message the company š
ā¢
What product are you using to exfoliate with currently? And how often are you using it? š

New to Retinol
I'm brand new to retinol and decided to try this super gentle one. Today is day one and I am hoping to see a reduction in the hyperpigmentation on my jawline. Will follow up in a month. Have you used this? Do you like it? Any other suggestions for Retinol?CeraVe - Resurfacing Retinol Serum

I have an issue with this toner
When I first purchased this toner, I really loved it. Right off the bat, the milky texture felt hydrating and nourishing. But, as I have grown more familiar with the product, I have realized that is not quite the case.
First, I have very sensitive and reactionary skin. Sometimes it feels like Iāll break out in a rash if the wind just happens to blow in the wrong direction. This likely explains the issue that I have but I am nevertheless disappointed.
Due to my sensitivity level, I introduce actives VERY slowly and cautiously. It has taken me about a year and a half to work my way up to using the CeraVe - Resurfacing Retinol Serum every other day. It has also taken me about 6 months to work up to using the By Wishtrend - Mandelic Acid 5% Skin Prep Water once or twice a week (on nights that I donāt use the CeraVe).
After emptying this product, I realize that this was part of the problem!! For weeks now, I have experienced a moderate to strong tingling sensation when applying the Wishtrend Mandelic Acid and even experienced a similar (but not as strong) sensation with THE inkey LIST - Polyhydroxy Acid (PHA) Gentle Exfoliating Toner which is apparently about as gentle as you can get with chemical exfoliants.
I assumed that this was just part of the process for me as I was experimenting with chemical exfoliants for the first time. I hadnāt used either product independently of the FAB toner and since it says āsafe for sensitive skinā I never once thought it could be prepping my skin for a stronger reaction.
That, however, is what appears to have been happening. When I ran out of the toner, the reactions to the Wishtrend Mandelic acid immediately dissipated. While I still feel a slight tingle for a few seconds, it is only a fraction of the sensation I used to feel.
I find this to be incredibly frustrating because I do enjoy other products from FAB (I love the cleanser). My issue is this, FABās entire brand seems focused on caring for the health of your skin. Hell, the name is FIRST AID Beauty!! If you are going to sell products that are marketed as āsafe for sensitive skinā they should truly be safe for sensitive skin!!
I realize that anyone can develop or have a reaction to anything so it is not entirely their fault. Everyone has to test every product for themselves. It is frustrating, though. Anyways, Iāll wrap up my rant now. Thanks for stopping by and congrats if you made it this far!!

How I Deal With My Acne
Big disclaimer before I begin: I donāt get a lot of huge breakouts. My main problems are dark spots and dullness. Acne? Not so much, although I do get pimples here and there around my monthly period. My methods for getting rid of my acne may not work for people who deal with a lot of cystic acne, but if I manage to at least point you in the right direction, it would make me really, really happy! āŗļø
So anyway, like many other people out there, I tend to get pimples on my nose, forehead, jaw, and chin. Thereās nothing wrong with getting pimples, but I canāt deny that not only do they not look pretty, theyāre also a hassle to deal with (painful pimples, Iām glaring at you right now).
This method has never failed to solve my issue with my pimples. Whenever I get them, I simply use these three products. If I happen to have a breakout, I switch my toner to COSRX - Centella Water Alcohol-Free Toner because itās really gentle and soothing to the skin.
Centella is an ingredient that is known to be really effective for blemished skin. But not all Centella products are effective in removing pimples. In fact, for a while, I also used COSRX - Centella Blemish Cream but it worked so slowly that I wasnāt sure if it even helped. Plus, with a price tag of $20 per 30ml tub, I found it too expensive for something that didnāt work too well.
Thankfully, I discovered MARIO BADESCU - Mario Badescu Drying Lotion Itās roughly $25 per 30ml bottle, which is technically more expensive than Cosrxās Blemish Cream. But since it works like magic, itās really worth the price you pay. Just dip a q-tip into the bottle and apply the solution right on your pimple. When you wake up the next day, your pimple will be either be flat or considerably smaller. Thatās why I said it works like magic.
Once the pimple starts drying, I use COSRX - Cosrx Acne Pimple Master Patch to cover it up and to speed up the healing. I also use it on pimples that have already popped, because again, it helps greatly with the healing process. It also helps me avoid scars that could come from pimples.
With just these three products, I could easily deal with my pimples, especially around that time of the month. What about you, what do you use to combat your acne? Let me know in the comments below!

The #mascne is real, yāall
Sorry my posts have been so infrequent here lately, I have been stressed to the max taking state exams to make sure I have a job this fall! Itās been wild and Iāve had to be in a mask quite a bit taking those long tests at the testing center!
I havenāt broke out in forever but all of a sudden Iām covered in bumps and realize itās from being out more and having to use a mask. I wanted to show you guys that this happens to everyone!
Even if your skin isnāt acneic, turns out it doesnāt like being in a hot humid mask for hours on end. Iām using a combo of Niacinamide, zit stickers, and barrier cream to fight this BUT I wanted to show you guys how normal it is. I will take a couple of uncomfortable pimples over putting myself or others in danger!

My acne fighting arsenal š„š„
With the crazy weather, stress, and constant mask wearing this summer, my skin has decided we are no longer friends and has left me a ton of acne to deal with. Luckily these products have all been major helpers in keeping my skin clear and calm!
THE inkey LIST - Beta Hydroxy Acid (BHA) Blemish + Blackhead Serum
The inkey list BHA is super no-nonsense in that the serum is literally just BHA with no added frills or anything. I use this regularly at night a few times a week to help keep my pores clear, but it also helps a ton with active acne too which I love. I donāt find it drying which is why I like it so much. I donāt love the texture which I find a bit sticky tbh.
Signature CLEAR - Magic Oil: Oil Cleanser and Face Oil
This oil is the actual best around. Itās formula is very simple but it has really great ingredients for calming acne prone skin and reducing inflammation. I use this mixed into my moisturizer every single night to attempt to keep my skin clear and happy. Warning, it has a very earthy smell to it in case youāre sensitive to these things!
a love story. - Boy Tears Hydrating Essence
This is another BHA product in the form of an essence. I find this to be so so gentle that it can easily be used every single day. I feel like the daily use allows me to reduce acne since itās being used consistently.
SOME BY MI - AHA. BHA. PHA 30 Days Miracle Cream
I ended up really liking this cream this summer. It has AHA, BHA and PHA which all penetrate the skin to different levels so skin can be exfoliated fully. It isnāt very strong and it also contains niacinamide and tea tree to help keep skin super clear. I feel like it has such a great combo of ingredients so it really does help my skin overall. Itās just not quite moisturizing enough for me so I often need to pair it with another cream.
ROSEN SKINCARE - Break-Out
This is fairly new to me but took me no time to fall in love. This spot treatment uses peppermint oil to target acne spots along with zinc. I use this only on active spots and notice that they are reduced the next day without leaving a dried up spot in the location of the acne. So essentially it takes care of the acne without drying my skin past the point of no return.

Help-I donāt know what to do!
Please help! I need some advice, I have used the same couple products for over a year- CeraVe - Foaming Facial Cleanser For Normal To Oily Skin Witch Hazel Toner, and Cetaphil - Daily Facial Moisturizer
I would break out from time to time (due to hormones and touching my face at work, I think) so I recently introduced some new products into my routine. I started using The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% for acne The Ordinary - Azelaic Acid Suspension 10%for a few dark spots I have on my hairline and Hylamide - Pore Flush for blackheads on my nose.
I have noticed my skin has only gotten worse. I have a few little pimples on my nose and around my eyebrows and has developed some cystic acne on my chin. Should I stop using the new products or continue using them and see if they help?
I have been using the new products for about two and half weeks now.

Brand Review: COSRX
As someone with problematic skin, I canāt count on one hand how many COSRX products Iāve tried before.
COSRX is a brand that was established in Korea almost two decades ago in 2002. Its name comes from Cosmetics + Rx, showing how much the brand focuses on solving different skin issues.
Since most of its products are fairly affordable, Iāve become a pretty huge fan over the years. Although I started using the brand as a university student in my late teens, I never stopped patronizing their products. In fact, until now I still use COSRX products especially for my acne.
Here are some products Iāve tried from this Korean skincare brand!
1. COSRX - Centella Water Alcohol-Free Toner To this day, this is the toner I use when I have breakouts. It has a water like consistency and is easily absorbed into the skin. It also soothes my pimples, reducing redness and irritation.
2. COSRX - Cosrx Acne Pimple Master Patch These are actually hydrocolloid patches, the same type of product that is used on patients who are healing from surgeries. I use these when I have a pimple that is already on its way out in order to speed up the healing process and avoid acne scars.
3. COSRX - AHA/BHA Clarifying Treatment Toner This was the toner I had before switching to my current toner. It has a similar consistency to the Centella toner and I think it complemented my other AHA products nicely.
4. COSRX - Low PH Good Morning Gel Cleanser Not a fan of this cleanser at all, but I will admit that itās not a bad product. It did manage to make my skin smooth, soft, and ready for my routine. However, I prefer cream type cleansers to gel type.
5. COSRX - Salicylic Acid Daily Gentle Cleanser This is actually my boyfriendās cleanser, but he kept one at my place so when I used up my AM cleanser, I used this for a while. It lathers well but itās also really drying, so get a nice moisturizer if you wanna use this product.
6. COSRX - Galactomyces 95 Tone Balancing Essence I only got this because I saw a lot of reviews hyping it online. Canāt say I noticed any considerable changes with this product. As an essence, it was rather moisturizing... and that was pretty much it. I didnāt get any breakouts or suffer from irritation though, so thereās that.
7. COSRX - Centella Blemish Cream I bought this product as spot treatment for my acne. It did work, sort of, but it was so slow that Iām not sure if it was even because of this product or if the pimples were simply at the end of their life. š With a price of $20 for a 30ml tub though, I definitely didnāt think it was worth paying that much for a so-so product.
Iāve been using COSRX for so long that Iām pretty sure Iām forgetting a few more products, but these are the ones Iāve tried in the last 3 years, at least. What about you? Let me know in the comments! š

Face Rash Chronicles
Itās like my face is getting worst. Iām so worried that this is going to be permanent and leave some scarring... my skin isnāt smooth any more more, Iām breaking out like crazy... š and I have a wedding to go to on Sunday... Iām a tad bit disappointed in myself.. some people may think that Iām being dramatic but Iāve worked really hard to get clear skin. Iāve done a lot of diy stuff, mask, etc and I actually found products that work for my skin... I was getting facials because 1. Itās relaxing. 2. Dark spot. I get hairs that grow on my chin and side of my face and I tweeze sometimes picking at my skin to get the hair.... š©š©š© now I still have dark spots and itchy skin and break outs, redness etc.
My esthetician gave me some script script samples to
use. I donāt know if I was paying attention properly but I feel as soon as I put it on my skin looked liked it got worst. It also kind of stung. Minus the stinging it could all just be in my head.
Hopefully this will work.!
