SPLOTCHY tinted mineral sunscreen. Save your 💰
Ugh🤬 I bought this sunscreen via Dr.Drays raving review. I put it on and.... ❌1. It’s a splotchy mess ❌2. It’s way too dark of a tint for my skin tone I tried reapplying in places where it didn’t cover but that made it worse. It also clumped in certain parts of my face. Just an awful product. Did anyone else experience this? 💰 For a drug store sunscreen, it’s pretty expensive ($17 + tax!). I do not recommend. Save your money. CeraVe - Face Sheer Tint Hydrating Sunscreen SPF 30
Skincare 101: the Basics
Three products are all you really need to care for your skin. Well, maybe not *you* specifically, but let’s be frank: most people don’t *need* a twelve-step routine to take care of their skin. If you’re starting off in skincare, your financial situation has changed, or your skin has been flaring with redness/flaking/breakouts, opt for a super simple routine for a month or two to see how your skin does without the extra frills. It may surprise you how little you need to keep your skin happy! • 𝗖𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗲𝗿: Cleanse with water in the morning, or opt for a hydrating cleanser if you’re oily, workout, or just enjoy cleansing often. Double-cleanse with that hydrating cleanser (and/or an oil-based balm) in the evening, or opt for a single cleanse with a gel or foaming cleanser. My milky faves are CeraVe - Hydrating Facial Cleanser and HOLI FROG - Tashmoo Water Lily Nourishing Milky Wash , while my deep-cleansing faves are CeraVe - Hydrating Cream-To-Foam Cleanser and PAULA'S CHOICE - RESIST Perfectly Balanced Foaming Cleanser . • 𝗠𝗼𝗶𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘇𝗲𝗿: Moisturize morning and night, regardless of your skin type! Look for products with ceramides and fatty acids to nourish the skin barrier. If your skin is more oily, opt for lightweight moisturizers like gels and lotions. If your skin is dry, creams and balms are going to be better for binding hydration and moisture to your skin. My faves for oily skin? CeraVe - PM Facial Moisturizing Lotion , VERSED - DEW POINT Moisturizing Gel-Cream , and PAULA'S CHOICE - Probiotic Nutrient Moisturizer . My dry skin faves are NATURIUM - Plant Ceramide Rich Moisture Cream , THE inkey LIST - Peptide Moisturizer , and DRUNK ELEPHANT - Lala Retro Whipped Cream . • 𝗦𝘂𝗻𝘀𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗻: The most important step! Sunscreen is the ultimate anti-aging product, so reapply every two hours y’all. My main loves for all skin types are PAULA'S CHOICE - Youth-extending Daily Hydrating Fluid SPF 50 and elta md SKINCARE - UV Clear Broad Spectrum SPF 46 . Those with dry skin, I’ve been enjoying CeraVe - Face Sheer Tint Hydrating Sunscreen SPF 30 , though paler folks may prefer DRUNK ELEPHANT - Umbra Sheer Physical Daily Defense Broad Spectrum Sunscreen SPF 30 . What’s your fave step? What extra step would you add in that’s not featured here? 👀 Keep up with the tag #Skincare101 to follow along this guide I’ll be posting to cover some basic concepts in skincare!

New Drug Store Faves from Versed Skincare
Enjoying some of my latest goodies from @versed . So far I'm loving the Weekend Glow Daily Brightening Solution and the Vacation Eyes Brightening Gel. Have you tried anything from Versed? What should I try next? *Gifted Products: VERSED - WEEKEND GLOW VERSED - JUST BREATHE Clarifying Serum VERSED - VACATION EYES Brightening Eye Gel VERSED - Guards Up Daily Mineral Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 35 VERSED - Silk Slip Conditioning Lip Oil
Ride or die sunscreen for sure!! I LOVE THIS PRODUCT!! I have been searching high and low for a good daily facial sunscreen and was almost going to give in the towel. I was using the CeraVe one and the white cast was KILLING me, even though I do have very fair skin. I had found ways to make it work but the white cast was still pretty bad. And then Versed changed, and saved, my life. The product itself is kind of an orange-ish color, but it doesn’t leave a tint on the skin, from my experience. I personally don’t wear makeup and didn’t want a sunscreen with any kind of tint to it, and this one delivered. I love this product. It is $21, which is a bit much, but I think it’s worth it. Sunscreen is the MOST important step in your routine so it’s vital you find one you love! I hope this helps someone!! 😊 PS: I got this photo from the Versed website

My 2020 Top 5 💄🍒
PRODUCT : YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Superfood Cleanser Refill Youth To The People's Superfoods Cleanser was shockingly reviving, and not in any manner drying, as I'd foreseen because of a portion of the fixings. What I delighted in about the item the most, both due to and notwithstanding of its value point, was its capacity to truly last. I found the jug endured me a while, and a limited quantity makes a significant decent frothy foam when applied to effectively clammy skin. TREND : CeraVe - Mineral Sunscreen Lotion SPF 30 for Face with Zinc Oxide I’m loving this sunscreen with tinted texture 😍 MY BEST LOOK : i love natural look bc I don’t put makeup on everyday I love to be natural sunscreen on and moisturizer and that’s it . This is really hard to post, but my skin was beautiful in the beginning of this year (first collage pic). didnt have a flaw on it practically. around summer time i began noticing closed comedones all over my cheeks. i have dermatillomania and tried to get them out but obviously it didn’t do anything but make my skin worse. what the tipping point was, i used a face shaver and i did this multiple times and ruined my cheeks. i thought it would help...no, not at all. my skin got worse, and worse, and worse. september was the worst my skin has ever been and i’ve never felt so insecure (2nd collage pics). the past few months i’ve been using CeraVe - SA Smoothing Cleanser and i think it’s really helped. the horrible horrible chin acne has died down, and things are just left as scars now. i use this morning and night along with The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% and CeraVe - SA Lotion For Rough & Bumpy Skin these two have also helped a lot for what i believe is just the “congestion”. at night i do the same thing but add The Ordinary - Lactic Acid 5% + HA and The Ordinary - 100% Organic Cold Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil for my scars, because i’ve read it really helps brighten and decrease the appearance—which i think it has. once a week i use the The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution i’m beginning to worry i have too many things going on and that’s why the progress is so slow. i’m also on the hunt for a new sunscreen because i was using CeraVe - Mineral Sunscreen Lotion SPF 30 for Face with Zinc Oxide and i HATE it—the white cast is awful and it makes me feel sticky. i thought this was a good routine but i’m beginning to get concerned. i switched my cleanser from the CeraVe - Hydrating Facial Cleanser because i was seeing no progress at all and thought i needed something with a bit more strength. does anyone have any suggestions? i’ve gotten better about not picking, but some days it’s very hard and i’ve lose a lot of confidence this year due to my acne. i’ve also been on 100 mg of Spironolactone for 3-4 years now, but in september i upped it to 150 because of how bad my skin got. i do my best to not eat any dairy and i’ve worked on having a better diet, to really flush my system, but i don’t know what’s right or wrong for me anymore.
My Go To Sunscreen All Year Round
This sunscreen is called Sun Bum Mineral with SPF of 50. This sunscreen is made of Zinc Oxide as its active ingredient. That is indeed what will be protecting your skin all year. The sun rays in which seem invisible during the cold months are indeed still beaming through the sky. You need to take precaution all year to decrease your chances of developing skin cancer as the most important reason, and also if you indeed care about the health of your skin and look of your skin you will decrease your signs of aging by wearing it all year. I choose to wear mineral based sunscreen versus chemical based. The less chemicals I can choose to put onto my face I will. This will be your saving grace when it comes to aging and hyperpigmentation. This sunscreen will minimize the amount of freckles or aging spots you develop. When you don’t wear SPF the UV rays can cause premature aging and lead to wrinkles. This is great for all year because some other ingredients are coconut oil and sodium hyaluronate (which is a concentrated form of hyaluronic acid) This will draw in moisture to your skin. The coconut oil will help with hydration and create smoother hydrated skin. During the cold winter months when most people’s skin experiences dry spells this will help to protect the barrier of your skin from dryness. Sunscreen should be the number one product you cannot go without and the most important step of your skincare routine. It's easy to forget and not apply especially if you're someone who’s always in a rush or for someone who wears makeup you can easily skip by accident. This can easily be added to your routine everyday. Just a pea sized amount will do to spread all over and if you do wear makeup always still apply underneath your foundation. With that being said, please don’t skip it! It is important all year round. You will thank your older self.
My New Beauty Buys! 🌤
Now that summer is over, it’s finally time to start going outside (safely). Summer’s sun is too intense and too hot, so I do my best to avoid going outside. As cooler weather approaches, I’m looking forward to outdoor activities! I believed when I was younger that winter and cloudy weather meant it was safe to go without sunscreen, but then I got burnt on a cloudy day. Did you know up to 80% of UV rays pass through clouds? I sure didn’t. As I look forward to going outside, I knew I needed some sunscreen to keep me safe! First off, Neutrogena - Hydro Boost Sunscreen SPF 50This is a chemical sunscreen, meaning it relies more heavily on chemical sun protection. The active ingredients are: Avobenzone (2.7%), homosalate (9%), octisalate (5%), octocrylene (9%), and oxybenzone (4.5%). The plus side to chemical sunscreens is they likely won’t leave behind a white cast. I will be using this one on my face. Neutrogena is unfortunately NOT my first pick, as they are not cruelty free, vegan, or reef friendly. The ULTA I visited had a small stock of sunscreens ): This sunscreen was $14.99. Second is the sun bum - Mineral Sunscreen Lotion SPF 50. This is a mineral sunscreen. Mineral sunscreens tend to rely on either zinc oxide or titanium oxide. It’s recommended, when using a mineral sunscreen, to find one that uses zinc oxide as opposed to titanium oxide. Titanium oxide is slightly less effective. The only active ingredient in this sunscreen is zinc oxide (20%). So far I have not noticed a white cast when applied, however it has a very strong coconut scent. I will be using this one on my body. Sun Bum is cruelty free, vegan, and this sun screen is reef friendly! Sounds like this one is a better find than the Neutrogena one! This sunscreen was also $14.99. Lastly, the sun bum - Original SPF 30 Sunscreen Lip Balm Watermelon. I forget a lot that my lips are also exposed to the sun, but I haven’t done anything to counteract sun damage! So when I saw an spf 30 broad spectrum lip balm, I knew that I had to get it! It smells and tastes just like watermelon candy! The downside to this is if you get any in your mouth, you’re definitely going to taste the SPF. If you’ve accidentally gotten sunscreen in your mouth, you know the taste I’m talking about. This cost $3.99. I’m so excited for cool weather! I can’t wait to go places (as much as we can right now) and feel protected while doing it!
Does Versed works for darker skin tones or not?
-thanks for reading me in advance.✨- I am reviewing today the Versed daily mineral sunscreen SPF 35. This product has been one of my favorites new finds. It blends to my skin very well, though it does not blends quite well in darker skin tones, it does not feel sticky at all. How does it works for darker skin tones? Mineral sunscreen tends to leave a white or purplish cast on darker skin tones. This is because they usually contain titanium dioxide or/and zinc dioxide. Versed tried to develop their formula for all skin tones they had in mind, but their product hasn’t necessary work in everyone... The YouTube video by the beauty blogger Simply Ijé shows us how the Versed sunscreen didn’t work quite well as it said it would in her skin tone. It left a mild white cast on her skin. She mentioned, that it wasn’t as bad as other mineral sunscreen, but it definitely wasn’t the best one. About Versed sunscreen: Even thought it is not an expensive sunscreen, it is not quite cheap either. I bought this 1.7 oz of product for $22.00 dollars at target. I know there are better sunscreens to take in consideration. Some of the ones that I believe it won’t leave a white cast are: LA ROCHE-POSAY - Anthelios Melt-in Milk Body & Face Sunscreen Lotion SPF 100 Neutrogena - Sheer Zinc Dry-Touch Sunscreen Lotion with SPF 30 innisfree - Daily UV Defense Sunscreen SPF 36 elta md SKINCARE - UV Clear Broad Spectrum SPF 46 The versed sunscreen will work better in light to medium skin tones. However, I think the re application will be kind of tricky since it is a mild tinted sunscreen. Investing on a spray sunscreen or in a powder will be very helpful for the ladies who apply make up in a daily basis. -I hope you enjoyed my review for today- 🥰 Have a nice day, and don’t forget to always check the product ingredients. 👀
Sunscreen is a must!
Hi guys today I’m gonna talk about sunscreen. What is a sunscreen? 1 : a screen to protect against sun. 2 : a preparation (such as a lotion) applied to the skin to prevent sunburn (as by chemically absorbing ultraviolet radiation) also : its active ingredient (as benzophenone) — compare sunblock https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/sunscreen. • Why wear a sunscreen? You can find out more here https://www.ehe.health/blog/always-wear-sunscreen Neutrogena - Clear Face Oil-Free Sunscreen SPF 55 I love this sunscreen this for acne prone it is very ultra light weight and doesn’t leave a white cast looking it also doesn’t have that heavy sunscreen smell. You can use this for beach or hiking etc. Neutrogena - Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch Sunblock SPF 100 Love love this very light weight and easy to apply on face, and etc. doesn’t have a heavy smell either use for beach. Neutrogena - Sheer Zinc Dry-Touch Sunscreen Lotion with SPF 30 I rated this one a three cause it is very thick doesn’t had a heavy sunscreen smell but is will leave a white cast . This product is approved by the national eczema association and pure screen. innisfree - Daily UV Defense Sunscreen SPF 36 Last but not least innisfree. I love this doesn’t smell like sunscreen at all! Smell like a lime sebert to me. It is very lightweight unlike American sunscreen this felt like a primer or water cream for example. I like to use this like driving in my car or going or to a park etc.
My 2 Favorite Skincare Items Under $20
I have combo skin that is sensitive and acne prone. Because of this, it can be hard to find good products that are effective and cheap but I have found two more recently that I ADORE. 💙Healing Ointment by CeraVe This product is about $12 for 5oz and it is amazing. It’s a thicker, clear texture and I generally use it at nighttime as a moisturizer, especially after something like using my retinol because that can be really drying for my skin. I wasn’t fully convinced at first but the next morning after my first use, my skin looked way better. It looked healthier and clearer too. I was shocked! A little goes a long way too and I’ve been using it nightly ever since! This product contains Hyaluronic Acid and ceramides which are of course great for skin hydration. This product can really be used anywhere too so I’ll use it on my body and lips when needed. I highly recommend checking this out, even if you’re acne prone and especially if you need help with your moisture barrier from using other products! 💚 Centella Green Level Unscented Sunscreen This product is $15.90 on Amazon for 2oz. It is a physical screen that is SPF 50 and makes my skin feel hydrated and smooth. I use this on my face after my morning routine and love it. There is no sticky feeling to this product or white cast. It is free of essential oils, suitable for all skin types and has organic UV filters. It’s also of course fragrance free. Sunscreen is so important for your skin and really helps with all of my skin concerns. This doesn’t break me out even after wearing for 12 hours straight and I would definitely repurchase. I discovered both of these products from skincare bloggers and figured why not? I’m SO glad I went for it! I got both of mine from Amazon and you can find them in my Amazon link in my Insta bio if you want to learn more too! CeraVe - Healing Ointment PURITO - Centella Green Level Unscented Sun SPF50+

Why are we not talking about this one more?!
Okay - this is one of the best drugstore SPF’s I’ve tried! This is targeted for any skin type and no specific concerns. This sunscreen has broad spectrum UVA and UVB protection and hyaluronic acid all in one. It has a thin water like liquid texture and rubs right in with little to no white cast. I originally purchased this to start being more diligent about applying spf on my hands. Come summer and beach time, I began using this on my face since it was constantly in my purse. This layers well under makeup with no pilling, and no irritation or breakouts! It has a pretty gentle formula as well. I absolutely love this product and will forever repurchase. I purchase this at Walmart and it’s under $10 making it sooo affordable! I can’t recommend this enough 💘 5/5 stars Neutrogena - Hydro Boost Water Gel Sunscreen Lotion SPF 30
Neutrogena-Hydro Boost Water Gel Sunscreen Lotion SPF 30
Moisturizer with SPF
The elta md Spf moisturizer is my go to product in the morning. It is meant to protect you from the sun, while keeping your skin moisturized throughout the day. It goes on smooth and doesn’t feel thick or sticky like most SPF’s do. I have been using this product for about 5 years now. One of my family members is a dermatologist and she recommends this to all of her patients, and of course her family! This is one of the only products containing sunscreen that doesn’t break me out. It is the best! I would recommend this product to everybody. The product is definitely worth the $28.50. elta md SKINCARE - UV Clear Broad Spectrum SPF 46

An amazing and affordable sunscreen!
Neutrogena - Hydro Boost Water Gel Sunscreen Lotion SPF 30 The sunscreen obsession continues... part 2. I love the Neutrogena Hydro Boost moisturizer and body lotions. I find that the light, gel-like consistency works super well with my acne-prone skin and since it’s oil-free, I know it probably won’t clog up my pores. I’ve been on the lookout for this for a while because I swear it wasn’t available in Canadian drugstores until recently but maybe I just completely missed it.... The good: It’s oil-free and non-comedogenic and I haven’t had any breakouts since trying this out. This sunscreen helps block UVA and UVB rays. It has the same consistency as their hydro boost moisturizer so it glides on so easily and doesn’t leave even a bit of white cast, you don’t even need to rub it in to avoid white residue. It absorbs quickly into the skin. It doesn’t leave your skin feeling greasy. Since this glides on easily and you don’t need to run it in, it’s ideal for re-applying throughout the day, even if you have makeup on. As long as you’re not wearing too much powder, I don’t think you’ll have any issues layering this on. Its super accessible! It was $10.99 CAD and you can find it at several drugstores. This is such a plus for me because being in Canada I usually need to order my other favourite sunscreens online and wait at least two weeks. The not so good: I really wish they had a fragrance free option. Not that it makes a big deal for me everyday, but if my skin is ever feeling sensitive, I know I will probably reach for a different sunscreen for that reason. I noticed that in one area of my face I had some very minor pilling. Not a big deal and it didn’t mess up my makeup, but I do just want to point it out in case this is really important to other people. Is it worth it? Yes. It’s super affordable and you get a pretty good big bottle compared to my other favourite k beauty sunscreens. Even if you don’t even up using this on your face. I think you’ll definitely be able to use this on your hands and body throughout the summer. Will I repurchase? I might hold out to see if they make a fragrance-free version before purchasing another. But even if they don’t I can see myself making this my go-to body sunscreen for the summer time. But if anyone has any other drugstore suggestions, I’d love to hear them! Ps my skin is combination and acne prone :)
Neutrogena-Hydro Boost Water Gel Sunscreen Lotion SPF 30
The Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel Lotion Sunscreen is one of my favorite drugstore products! This is a sun protectant with an SPF of 50. It is also water resistant for 80 minutes. This sunscreen is perfect for people who have concerns with dry skin. The texture is a watery gel like lotion that is very hydrating. It leaves your skin soft to the touch and doesn’t have a terrible sunscreen scent. I purchased this because it was on sale at Ulta and the “Hydro Boost” line caught my eye. I actually love this sunscreen for the summer time because it feels so hydrating on my skin and also cooling because it is a water gel lotion. I didn’t get any breakouts from this, and my skin felt well protected. I would definitely recommend this product! It is a necessity in everyday life and this particular one is very affordable! I think it would be great for all skin types, but if you are very oily it might just make you look extra shiny. If you have dry skin I think this is amazing all year long, especially in the winter. If you are like me you get the most dry in the winter and sometimes nothing works! This will help! This one is $10 for 3 oz but you can always find this on sale!
Neutrogena-Hydro Boost Sunscreen SPF 50
Battle of the Hyped Sunscreens
My skin type is combo oily that can lean more dry during the weather changes or just randomly. My skin concerns are acne, oiliness throughout the day and also dehydration. I’ve ranked these popular hyped sunscreens based on how they worked for me personally (going from favorite to least favorite). My favorite is Unseen because it’s a primer and sunscreen in one, is lightweight and I haven’t had an issue with pilling. I prefer SPF 40 or higher. . Supergoop! - Unseen Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 40 Key Ingredients: Complex Derived from Meadowfoam Seed (increases hydration levels), and Red Algae (helps protect against blue light emitted by electronic devices). Texture/Consistency: Gel Scent: None Price: $34 for 1.7 oz / 50 mL Experience: Is designed to be used as a primer, makes it quicker to get ready. It feels so lightweight, I can’t even tell that I’m wearing it throughout the day, doesn’t pill or make me oily. Repurchase/Recommend?: Yes, I definitely am going to purchase the full size of this! It simplifies my routine and lightweight. . Supergoop! - Play Everyday Lotion 50 Default Title Key Ingredients: Sunflower Extract (protects your skin from external environmental elements) and Rosemary Leaf Extract (has a calming effect on the skin and is rich in antioxidants). Texture/Consistency: Lotion Scent: None Price: $32 for 5.5 oz / 162 mL OR $58 for 18 oz / 532 mL Experience: It was too heavy on top of a moisturizer and made me look greasy, but applied by itself it was lovely (have a glow, but wasn’t too heavy). It also doesn’t pill when I put my makeup on. Repurchase/Recommend?: Yes, it would be more for people with dry skin, but it’s moisturizing enough to act as my moisturizer too so I apply it by itself (or on top of serum). . FIRST AID BEAUTY - Weightless Liquid Mineral Sunscreen SPF 30 Key Ingredients: Zinc Oxide (physical sunscreen that helps filter harmful UV rays) and Alteromonas Ferment Filtrate and Vitamin E (both help protect against environmental aggressors). Scent: None Texture/Consistency: Liquidy Price: $34 for 1.5 oz / 44 mL Experience: I love that this is tinted, it doesn’t leave a white cast at all! It is lightweight, easily sinks in, and doesn’t make me oily throughout the day. It also doesn’t pill at all, so easy to put makeup on after. Repurchase/Recommend?: Maybe, I just wish it was a higher SPF. . DRUNK ELEPHANT - Umbra Tinte Physical Daily Defense Broad Spectrum Sunscreen SPF 30 Key Ingredients: Zinc Oxide (physical sunscreen that protects from harmful rays) and Algae Extract and Sunflower Sprout Extract (both protect against free radical damage). Scent: None Texture/Consistency: Lightweight Cream Price: $36 for 2 oz / 60 mL Experience: It feels heavy and doesn’t sink in all the way, plus pilled and made my CC Cream look cakey and terrible. Repurchase/Recommend?: No, it pilled badly and doesn’t work well with makeup on me.
