Banila Co. Clean It Zero Cleansing Balm: Amazing
This is a very popular cleansing balm that works amazingly well. Personally, I prefer cleansing balms over cleansing oils since they’re less messy. This one has a very buttery consistency melts down very easily and glides over skin. This helps reduce the possibility of irritation since there’s no need for tugging and aggressive rubbing. This balm leaves the skin feeling soft and moisturized opposed to dry and stripped. There is fragrance in the product, however, it’s a wash off treatment so it’s not in contact with the skin for very long. My skin is very sensitive to fragrant ingredients and essential oils but I haven’t noticed any irritation or sensitivity. It’s best to avoid fragrance regardless of skin type since it can cause sensitivity for all. In a post about Fresh products, I went more in depth on this subject. Overall, I still think this is very good cleansing balm. It’s very effective and it’s not too expensive. However, I’m still going to try out more cleansing oils and balms especially more affordable ones from drugstores. BANILA CO - Clean It Zero Cleansing Balm Original

A $22 Product That I Bought For $15
This product is $22 on the Laneige website, Sephora, and other retailers as far as I know, but I was able to purchase it for $15. Recently I went to Marshalls and for the first time I decided to look at their beauty section. I was shocked by how many products they had and how cheap it was. The store carried everything from Murad and Clinique to drugstore brands like Simple. The best part was that each product was cheaper there than what you would have payed for at Sephora or Ulta. I encourage everyone to check stores like Marshalls and TJ Maxx because you never know what you may find. LANEIGE - LANEIGE Lip Sleeping Mask Normally I would rate a product with fragrance like this lower, however, the lips get exposed to all sorts of things when we eat so I don’t have a problem with fragrance in this instance. The consistency of the product is buttery smooth and melts onto the lips without a sticky or heavy feeling. -There’s many skin conditioning waxes as well as murumuru seed and shea butter which help to seal the moisture in. -There are also some berry extracts which provide the benefits of antioxidants. -The formula also contains hyaluronic acid which is a good hydrator even though it’s lower on the ingredient list. -I also think this is just a very cool and unique product as a sleeping mask for your lips. Thanks for reading and definitely check out the beauty aisles at Marshalls and TJ Maxx!!

Skincare on a Budget: Best Drugstore Eye Creams
Eye creams are always pretty pricey, but for some of us they can be a necessity. They can be good for students like me that pull all-nighters studying or doing homework often then wake up with dark circles and tired eyes. They can also be good for puffiness. These are the best drugstore eye creams that are very effective. e.l.f. - CBD Eye Cream This product has a lightweight creamy gel texture that absorbs very quickly and leaves the under eye area feeling soft. The under eye area is very delicate so it’s really good that this product is fragrance-free. This product’s star ingredient cannabidiol (CBD) soothes skin and reduces inflammation. -Formula includes three forms of peptides which stimulates the skin to produce collagen for more firm and younger looking skin. -Contains allantoin and aloe, very soothing ingredients. -Also contains hyaluronic acid for plumping and panthenol which is a humectant. CeraVe - Eye Repair Cream CeraVe comes through once again, but this time with their eye cream. Like their other products, this one contains three ceramides which are great anti-aging ingredients. It also contains plumping hyaluronic acid along with niacinamide to brighten skin and smooth fine lines and wrinkles. -It also contains soothing and hydrating ingredients such as aloe, almond oil, jojoba esters, and glycerin. -It is very inexpensive seeing as it retails for $12.99. VERSED - THE FIX Emergency Eye Mask The texture of this product has a slightly thick gel consistency that applies easily. It dries somewhat quickly, but since it has a thick texture, it’s better to use at night. The gel has a cooling effect but this isn’t due to any potentially irritating, cooling ingredients like menthol. -This is also very different from other products since it is a mask that is meant for the eye area. -Contains cucumber which is great for its hydrating and antioxidant abilities. -Includes two peptides which is helpful for fine lines around the eyes and such. -Non-fragrant rosehip oil, moisturizing pantheol, vitamin C, and two forms of Vitamin E are included which help strengthen the eye area. -Caffeine is included which can help soothe redness, but there isn’t much research that proves it can help puffy eyes. bliss - Eye Do All Things Eye Gel This is a great product from bliss that has a lightweight gel texture. The gel is very moisturizing but not too heavy and it absorbs very quickly with a light dewy finish. The formula has great skin replenishing ingredients such as squalane, glycerin, and panthenol. -The formula also contains three forms of peptides for its anti-aging benefits. -Antioxidants in the forms of vitamin E and C work to protect skin and aid in brightening the under eye area. -Caffeine is included which can help soothe redness, but there isn’t much research that proves it can help puffy eyes. Always apply SPF!!!

The Ordinary Azelaic Acid: A New Favorite
Azelaic Acid is a very good ingredient for a wide variety of skin concerns. This acid is an amazing antibacterial antioxidant that has the ability to decongest clogged pores. It is a very gentle form of exfoliation when compared to other AHAs which includes lactic, glycolic, mandelic acids. Since it’s a form of exfoliation, it does well to smooth out skin texture and it’s gentle so it doesn’t leave skin really sensitive to the sun. It is still important to wear sunscreen at all times. Azelaic Acid is a tyrosinase inhibitor, this means that it can actually prevent hyperpigmentation since it interferes with the production of melanin. It’s anti-inflammatory properties is great for acne. If you’re prone to getting dark spots after a pimple, then this ingredient would be great for you since it blocks tyrosinase (as mentioned above). This ingredient is also quite soothing which helps to reduce redness. It also has skin-brightening properties which is amazing for dullness! Unfortunately, there are not many products with azelaic acid in concentrations lower than 10%. Concentrations of 10% are the most common. The two products I have found are from Paula’s Choice and The Ordinary. I recommend starting off with the one from The Ordinary since it’s only $8. That way if it doesn’t work for you, you’re not spending a lot of money on it. Although there is a travel size of the 10% Azelaic Acid Booster by Paula’s Choice, it’s $10 for 5 ml while The Ordinary is $8 for 30ml. The Ordinary - Azelaic Acid Suspension 10% This product has all benefits as mentioned above such as helping with acne, textural irregularities, and hyperpigmentation. -It has a lightweight cream texture. -This product is inexpensive, effective, and fragrance-free. PAULA'S CHOICE - 10% Azelaic Acid Booster This product has all benefits as mentioned above such as helping with acne, textural irregularities, and hyperpigmentation. -It had a lightweight creamy gel texture. -The star ingredient of azelaic acid is supported by licorice which is a very soothing ingredient. -The product also contains salicylic acid for its pore refining abilities. -In addition, it also contains adenosine, an ingredient which helps to restore skin. -Fragrance-free. I definitely recommend trying these products out since they work wonders!

The Best Soothing Ingredients
Knowing ingredients and doing research is very important when it comes to skincare. This can be especially helpful for those who are less knowledgeable or new in the matter and they need something for a specific skin issue. This post is going to focus on soothing ingredients that are great for all skin types! This includes extra sensitive, breakout prone, reddened skin. These skin soothing ingredients are amazing for over exfoliated skin as well and even those who have rosacea. ~~Allantoin~~ This is an ingredient that can be extracted from the chamomile plant or made synthetically. It’s a very good ingredient for soothing and protecting the skin. It’s a very well rounded ingredient with its abilities to stimulate skin cell regeneration and heal skin. ~~Bisabolol~~ This is another soothing ingredient that can be extracted from chamomile plants. It’s a very common ingredient that is found in many products because of its amazing anti-inflammatory properties. This ingredient also has some skin-brightening abilities. ~~Burdock Root~~ This ingredient is great for acne, eczema, and psoriasis. Its anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties contribute to this. ~~Colloidal Oatmeal~~ There are potent antioxidants in this ingredient that can really help to smooth and soothe skin. It is classified as a skin-protectant. It does really well for repairing the skin and is great for over exfoliated, irritated skin. ~~Licorice Root~~ This plant extract has potent antioxidant and skin soothing abilities which is why it is often included in products meant for sensitive skin. This ingredient also has the capabilities to even skin tone as well. ~~Green Tea~~ Green tea contains many antioxidants that are great for the skin and soothing it. Research shows that it can improve the appearance of sun damaged skin. In addition it has anti-inflammatory and anti-carcinogenic properties which means it has the ability to prevent the development of cancer and the activity of carcinogens. Remember, it’s important to do your own research as well and just try things to find what works for you.
The FAB Four Travel Set
This is probably my favorite brand, but it’s not perfect. There are some products that are really amazing and then some that just flopped. I want to focus on these four which are some of their most popular products from the brand. FIRST AID BEAUTY - Pure Skin Face Cleanser This is definitely one of my favorite cleansers especially because of how well it cleanses. It’s best for combination to drier skin types. This product has amazing hydrating ingredients such as glycerin and aloe extract. -Fragrance-free. -Contains soothing ingredients such as feverfew and licorice extract. -Rinses without leaving any residue. FIRST AID BEAUTY - Facial Radiance Pads This product has a very interesting formula containing very soothing and beneficial ingredients, however, it also contains some irritating ones. This product contains some citrus extracts which are very irritating ingredients and it also means that it has fragrance. -It also contains aloe and cucumber extract which are very soothing ingredients. -The exfoliating aspect of this product is characterized by lactic and glycolic acid. -In addition to aloe and cucumber extract, this product also contains glycerin and hyaluronic acid. FIRST AID BEAUTY - Ultra Repair Cream This is a very good moisturizing cream especially for those with dry skin. It contains great ingredients for this such as shea butter, glycerin, and squalane. The formula also contains soothing ingredients such as allantoin, feverfew extract, and licorice extract. -Product also contains colloidal oatmeal which is good for irritation, rashes, eczema, and other skin conditions. -This formula also has one form of ceramides. -Unfortunately, it contains a fragrant oil, eucalyptus, it is the very last thing on the ingredient list. When I used this product, I couldn’t even tell that there was eucalyptus oil in it. Which I’m going to assume that there is a very small amount. FIRST AID BEAUTY - Weightless Liquid Mineral Sunscreen SPF 30 This is definitely going to be based on ingredients since my experience wasn’t very good. Maybe it was just a bad batch, but the product had a very sandy texture. I personally don’t agree with just reviewing products based on personal experience since everyone’s skin is different. What works for me may not work for someone else. -Fragrance-free. -This sunscreen does have a tint which counteracts the white cast. -The product contains feverfew and licorice extracts, amazing soothing ingredients. -It also includes green tea, vitamin C, and E which are great antioxidants. FIRST AID BEAUTY - FAB Four Travel Faves Kit Overall, I think this is a very good travel set especially if you want to try out some products from First Aid Beauty. I would recommend the cleanser which I actually have been using for a while now. The cream moisturizer is also a good pick, but be careful with the fragrance.
