Morning Routine for GLOWING Skin

PrettyCare
After 3 months, I perfected my routine for: ✨GLOWING SKIN✨ My concerns: mild acne, moderate cystic acne, large pores, redness, uneven skin tone, prevent aging proactiv - MD Essentials System Value Set
I’m allergic to benzoyl peroxide, so I had to find alternatives for my acne prone skin. When Proactiv came out with a formula that was benzoyl peroxide free, I jumped on it! On this routine, I have seen huge improvements in my breakouts, pore size, skin tone and texture. Each step in the kit and other: Step 1 Cleanse and Rinse proactiv - Deep Cleansing Face Wash
This wash is gentile and leaves my face feeling smooth and soft. It has micro exfoliating beads that remove impurities and help keep skin clear. Step 2 Toner proactiv - Balancing Toner
After breaking up with witch hazel, there’s no going back! I love this toner because I don’t feel dry at all like I usually do with toners. Leaves skin feeling clean and refreshed. Step 3 Serum (formerly my spot treatment step) #Apostrophe - Azelaic Acid Formula (Azelaic Acid 15% + Niacinamide 4%)[products]# Although Proactiv MD cleared up most of my breakouts and reduced pore size, I still struggled with dark spots and jawline cystic acne. I knew I needed something a little stronger that was also compatible when using retinoids (night routine.) Apostrophe’s formula reduced my dark post-acne marks and evened my skin tone and texture. It also has anti-aging properties. No need for spot treatment, it’s designed to be used all over face. Pea size amount recommended. Step 4 Serum timeless SKIN CARE - 20% Vitamin C + E Ferulic Acid Serum
BEST dupe for SkinCeuticals CE Ferulic Serum. Brightens skin after just a few weeks and helps with my uneven skin tone. Protects against environmental pollutants. 1-1.5 pumps for entire face. Step 5 Eye Cream proactiv - Eye Brightening Serum
Eye creams can be scary, as the skin around the eyes is so sensitive! This eye cream is packed with peptides, vitamins C and E. While I noticed reduced puffiness, I hadn’t noticed an anti-aging difference until my boyfriend pointed out how “smooth it looks” under my eyes 😂 Step 6 Moisturizer/Step 7 SPF proactiv - Daily Oil Control Moisturizer SPF 30
🔑 Hydration is key when treating acne prone skin! I love that this moisturizer is lightweight, non-greasy and soft. Since it already has SPF 30, no need to use a separate sunscreen unless you will have prolonged direct sun exposure. Any skin type can use this gentle product. 1-1.5 pumps is all you need. Dries quickly. Step 8 Face Oil eve hansen - Golden Rosehip Face Oil
I don’t use face oil everyday, more like 3-4x per week, when I feel like I need extra hydration. Helps reduce redness and locks in moisture! Has skin regenerative properties. Only 3-5 drops needed.

The best vitamin C serum, for a great price 👆🏻
Give me some of that vitamin C🍊. @timelesshaskin. . . A new favourite in my morning skincare routine! Do you use vitamin C in your skincare routine? - - This serum contains vitamin C; also has Ferulic acid and vitamin E which help stabilize and enhance the function of the vitamin C. - - Benefits of the use of vitamin C in you’re routine: - antioxidant: helping protect from sun damage and air pollution. - helps build collagen. - can help with discolouration and hyperpigmentation. - helps with acne and acne prevention - because vitamin c has strong anti-inflammatory properties. . . My thoughts on the product so far: I really love how it makes my skin feel. The consistency is more watery of a serum which feels refreshing on my face. It is not irritating to my skin at all. I apply 2-3 drops and use my fingertips to massage into my face. I’ve noticed it’s helped with my discolouration around my mouth which I’ve mentioned before I really wanted to try and fix! So I am extremely happy about that. My skin appears to be smoother, radiant and no blemishes since I’ve added it into my skincare routine. I will be testing it out more but I truly have been enjoying it!

Let’s talk Vitamin C 🍊🍊
Okay so everyone knows that Vitamin C is a staple in the dermatology/skin care community (if you don’t you know now). Toted as an anti-aging antioxidant it has been used forever. When picking a product though, do you know what you’re getting? There are many forms of vitamin C. The main two I’m going to compare is it L-Ascorbic Acid and Sodium Ascorblyl Phsosphate. Okay quick grab your Vitamin C serum and look for the vitamin C ingredient they used, then look up the concentration (i.e 10%, 20%) Okay so ASCORBIC ACID, is the most powerful version of vitamin C there is. I’ve seen a lot of articles that say it’s what you need for “effectiveness” but honestly it’s unstable. (There is research suggesting this as well).. with that being said it’s not the worse thing ever, just make sure your product is formulated correctly. When looking for L-ascorbic acid, it’s has to be 8-20% to make it effective and below a 3.5 pH . If you have acne or sensitive skin this also isn’t recommended, it’s toted by dermatologist as the strongest and while that is true it’s not necessarily needed for skin. SODIUM ASCORBLY PHOSPHATE (SAP), it has a salt molecule attached to it allowing it to easily penetrate the skins lipid barrier. It’s not not associated with the irritation caused by L-Ascorbic acid and it’s more stable and allows longer shelf life. Comparing to L-Ascorbic acid it has be said to have a lower “effectiveness” which I find to be highly doubtful based on published medical studies and personal results. When looking for the best Vitamin C product it should be mixed with -Tocopherol (vitamin E) -Ferulic Acid -& Hyaluronic Acid I currently use (Korean beauty)Seoul Ceuticals - 20% Vitamin C Hyaluronic Acid Serum and I love it .. i find that sodium ascorbly phosphate (SAP) works better on my current sensitive, acne prone skin. If you’re into something harder such as C E Ferulic by Skinceurtical (which I find EXTREMELY OVERPRICED @ $166) the dupe for that is Dr. Brenner C serum (can be found on amazon for $17.99 & timeless SKIN CARE - 20% Vitamin C + E Ferulic Acid Serum. (Which I have not tried but am tempted to). I also have used and loved Mad Hippie - Vitamin C Serum (SAP) and TruSkin - Vitamin C Serum .. Just make sure to wear sunscreen after this product ☺️

Step 3 Daily Sheet Mask and Eye Mask #Well Skincare - Radiance Daily Sheet Mask[products]#[FiveStars] This is a great sheet mask that I use to every other night. It really helps boost my skin's hydration levels and counteract the mild drying effects from the retinoid I use. JAYJUN - Lavender Tea Eye Gel Patch Jar JAYJUN - Green Tea Eye Gel Patch Jar Perfect eye masks! I alternate between both depending on the day. The green tea helps my under eye puffiness and the lavender for anti-aging. Perfect for people who want to treat acne and prevent aging. It takes 8-12 weeks to see acne clearing results. However I noticed my skin clearing up in about 4 weeks and my only breakouts became hormonal, cystic jawline acne. I didn’t want to use a stronger retinoid due to drying side effects, which did take some time for my skin the get use to. I LOVE this formula specifically; the texture is lightweight and dries quickly. Step 6 Eye Cream and Spot Treatment proactiv - Eye Brightening Serum This eye cream is packed with peptides, vitamins C and E. ORIGINS - Super Spot Remover Acne Treatment Gel It has it name for a reason. Noticeable improvement in pimple size within 24 hours! Better than drugstore spot treatment. proactiv - Deep Cleansing Face Wash is described as a gentle liquid cleanser to help "clear dirt and debris from deep within the pores.” It is intended for acne prone skin to clean and exfoliate the skin, preps the skin for treatment, smooths and brightens the skin, and helps unclog the pores. However, it is suitable for all skin types. The product claims to be non-greasy, non-comedogenic, and dermatologist tested. The product has a clean and fresh scent which has small exfoliating beads to help clean the skin for a smoother, softer-looking complexion. It has a think consistency but easily spreads throughout the face with very little product needed. I used to use Proactive a long time ago and always loved what it did for my face. My mom was actually the one that would get it for me. As I grew up and started buying my own skin care products, there were just so many other new products out there to try. I still have this product though since my mom got it for me last year. It came in a set with a cute Hello Kitty brush. I do like the tiny beads in the product which really helped make my face feel fresh and clean. Having the tiny beads in the products really makes it feel like the dirt and dead skin is being lifted up and out of my face, leaving it smooth and soft. It is retailed for $30 for the full size at Ulta Beauty. I give this product a 4/5 stars.

eve hansen vs good molecules
Hi guys! Today I am going to be comparing these two Rosehip oils on a variety of topics! My skin type: normal to oily, acne prone, rosacea Scent: Eve Hansen- kind of light and natural, not overly heavy and doesn’t irritate or linger Good Molecules- no fragrance! Texture: Eve Hansen- 6/10 on the thickness scale Good Molecules- 2/10 on the thickness scale Claims: Eve Hansen- firm & restore “youthfulness,” reverse age related damage, hydrate Good Molecules- brighten and plump skin, hydrate & nourish Function: Eve Hansen- best used as a final step in a routine (to me) because of thickness and inability to work well with other products. I use this at night only. Good Molecules- can be used as a final step or mixed in with a moisturizer, doesn’t make me oily in the day time if used! Price: Eve Hansen- $25 for 1.75oz Good Molecules- $10 for .44oz Overall: Eve Hansen- this is a fine final step, but it doesn’t always get along with my skin or skin type. I can’t use this in the day time without looking oily or it pilling. I wish it was more hydrating! eve hansen - Golden Rosehip Face Oil Good Molecules- small bottle but lasts so long, only takes a few drops to make a difference. Very hydrating and affordable for someone who wants to try out different oils! GOOD MOLECULES - Pure Cold-Pressed Rosehip Seed Oil I prefer the good molecules oil over the eve hansen one, mostly because it’s much more hydrating and can be used day or night!

Current rotation spotlight
Some products in current rotation Youth To The People Adaptogen deep moisture cream What can I say? Yet another stellar formulation from YTTP. This applies as a heavy cream but melts into the skin like a dream whilst delivering a blanket of hydration. Eve Hansen Beauty Golden rosehip facial oil Such a beautiful, lightweight oil that’s been so easy to incorporate into my routine. This is packed full of anti-inflammatory fatty acids as well as vitamin A & C to help with redness. Btw, this only has 4 ingredients in it. 4! Le Dew Beauty Baby smooth serum It started snowing heavily again 2 days ago so this baby is back in my routine. Still one of the best HA serums I’ve ever used and always leaves my skin soft and hydrated. Mahina Beaute Turn on the light vit C serum This is still in testing phases for me but so far, I like it. It’s lightweight, absorbs beautifully and layers well underneath my other products.

proactiv week 3
proactiv - MD Essentials System Value Set I’ve been struggling with acne for many years. Last year, my freshman year of college, I started developing very painful cysts. At one point, I even had five of them on my face (about the size of grapes). They would last about 2 weeks, but another would soon pop up in its place. 3 weeks ago I decided I’d had enough. They’re super painful and there’s nothing i’ve found that ever helped besides otc pain meds. I went into ulta and just bought this value kit and decided to try it. I’ve tried just about everything else in the book: with hazel, salicylic acid, charcoal, scrubs, etc. So far, I’ve had a lot less cysts - i’ve only had 2 since I started. The redness is a pain, but not physically at least lol. I’m going to use this for at least 8 weeks to really see how it’s working!! Side notes: I’m getting severe mask acne from working all day that I believe is contributing to my chin acne. The first picture is most recent, last picture being when I first bought the kit

an amazing line for dull skin + pigmentation
Georgette Klinger and Cherie gifted these products to me so I could review them honestly! I have been using them for ten days now, and I have thoughts to share! I supplemented this routine with a moisturizer, spf, and eye cream, as well as hydrating masks every three days. Pre-Information — I’ve used many vitamin c products in the past, and my skin likes the ingredient! I have combo skin, which is sensitive and acne prone. I also have rosacea, which makes my skin red, especially when using actives. Every product here has fragrance and all the products smell like an orchard (it’s strong!). If you are sensitive to fragrance, keep that in mind. GEORGETTE KLINGER - Vitamin C Cleansing Gel I like this cleanser, and I don’t usually reach for gel cleansers because they tend to be fairly stripping. This one is gentle and doesn’t dehydrate my skin on impact; I use it as a second cleanse at night following an oil based cleanser. It doesn’t irritate my skin, but kind of soothes it instead — which is a lot to ask for from a cleanser. Not the best for daytime use for me, I find that in the mornings my skin is better off with water + toner. Three stars because it smells like dollar store hand soap and I cannot ignore it. GEORGETTE KLINGER - Vitamin C Toner I think it’s an okay toner! I don’t like the dispenser at all, because product comes out fast and it’s hard to control. The viscosity of the toner is pretty thin, but my skin feels smooth after application. It sinks in fast and isn’t sticky! I use this with a reusable cotton round and it preps my skin nicely for the rest of my routine. It’s not really a “special” product for me, and I’m the kind of person who wants skincare routines to be ritualistic and also make me feel good on the inside, so I’ll have to pass on repurchasing. GEORGETTE KLINGER - Vitamin C Complex This might be one of my favorite vitamin c serums! It’s a little tacky, but sinks in faster than some serums I’ve used, and once you apply a moisturizer, the tackiness disappears. It’s pretty gentle and I didn’t experience any discomfort, tingling, or excess redness after application. I really like the packaging on this, and it’s an easy product to slip into your routine. GEORGETTE KLINGER - Vitamin C Mask This is my favorite product out of the four! I LOVE the packaging — pump top for a mask? Revolutionary. The pump makes getting product so easy, and you can control it easily. The texture of this mask is like a thick smoothie, and it smells good, too. I noticed my skin becoming brighter when I use this for a midday pick-me-up. I can guarantee that I’ll run out of this one first. Overall, my skin looks GOOD. I can’t tell if it’s just because of my cycle, or if these products did wonders for me (ten days is a short time to tell I think). I did notice some dehydration towards the five day mark, but overall my skin looks better!

My routine for coming spring❤️
My routine for coming spring❤️
My skin is dry in autumn and winter, and mixed in summer. The main skin concerns are acne marks and scars. So every time I do the skin care, the most concerned is how to do well in moisturizing and how to fade acne marks. My routine usually first use cleansing cream, then toner and cream, the last essence. Following I will share my personal routine. It has been spring recently, so the skin is not so dry as the winter, so I changed my cleansing foam to the Estee lauder. The name is super-pomegranate radiant energy cleansing foam. This kind of facial cleanser is very durable, and can cover the whole face with a little squeeze at a time. Its bubble is very rich, I use it with Luna face cleanser. After foaming, gently massage the whole face with the cleanser. Then wash the water with clean water. Your skin will feel fine and smooth, even brightening up. ESTĒE LAUDER - Nutritious Super-Pomegranate Radiant Energy 2-in-1 Cleansing Foam But it should be noted that this product is especially suitable for people with oily skin. For dry skin, it is best to use it only in spring and summer. Because of its powerful cleaning effect, if it is used in the case of particularly dry skin, it may cause skin sensitivity and redness. The next step is to use SK-II facial treatment essence. I'm a big fan of this essence. I've been using it in all seasons. Although it is essence, I have always used it as lotions. After cleansing the face, pour out a little on the cotton pad, pat the skin gently, it is very easy to be absorbed by skin. It can help skin lock moisture, and can add other functional essence. SK-II - Facial Treatment Essence (Pitera Essence) After using SK-II essence, I will use Guerlain abeille royale youth watery oil. This step is the key to my moisturizing. The rich glycerin ingredients in the oil make my skin very moist. Finally, I use La Mer the concentrate to solve the acne mark problem of the skin. Its function is to smooth the redness of the skin and promote the self-healing of the skin. It is more suitable for season change or acne scar removal, there is not much need to use every day. But it does a good job on fade acne marks and scars. Generally, the newly born red acne can be faded after one night's application. GUERLAIN - Bee Glow Youth Moisturizer LA MER - LA MER The Concentrate I usually use this routine all year round. The biggest difference is that I may change the parts of facial cleanser and moisturizer. But for SK-II and La Mer, I will not change. I've been doing this for about three years before making up in the morning and skin care at night.

Post Accutane Night Time Skin Care Routine
Post Accutane Night Time Skin Care Routine
While on accutane I had a very simple skincare routine to allow the medication to do its thing. I’m 7 months post Accutane, and my face is still pimple free. Yay! My skin care concerns at this time is discoloration/dark spots and minimal scarring on one of my cheeks. In this routine I am using the Fresh Soy cleanser to cleanse. It’s so important to make sure you’re thoroughly cleansing your face so that the remaining products can properly penetrate the skin. I use esthetician Nayamka Roberts-Smith (@LABeautyologist)’s 60 second rule when cleansing. Cleansing your face with your fingers for 60 sec allows the cleanser ingredients to do their job. This method helps to soften the skin & dissolve sebum blockages a lot better. I then follow up with applying a hydrating toner (Laniege Cream Skin toner and moisturizer) to my face with my hands. Then 2-3x a week I go in with the exfoliating serum ( The Ordinary’s Mandelic Acid 10% + HA serum) to minimize texture and uneven skin tone. Mandelic acid is gentle and works great on hyperpigmentation on people with deeper skin tones. To end it all off, I use the Kate Somerville recovery cream. Skincare Ingredients 101 ✅
Skincare Ingredients 101 ✅
I have sensitive combination skin that is acne-prone and these are ingredients that my skin LOVES! We see them a lot on labels but what do they do and how should we use them? 🍊 Vitamin C 🍊 Vitamin C is awesome for brightening skin and helping with acne scars. Vitamin C also is great for its ability to even out skin tone and diminish the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Research shows this ingredient can shield skin from visible impacts of environmental stressors, including free radical damage. 🔑 The key to using Vitamin C is making sure you use an SPF with it as the last step in your morning routine. Vitamin C can make your skin more prone to the sun’s rays so I’ve heard of people using it at night but for me because it fights free radicals, I love it for the daytime. Additionally, it’s important to note that some Vitamin C products have very short shelf lives. My favorite is currently the very stable Vitamin C found in the Leah Skin Rose + Glow Oil. It’s a clean and cruelty-free facial oil with a Vitamin C that lasts! Some expire as quickly as 3 months due to oxidation which makes the product less effective but the type in this product is good for a year! I also love Farmacy’s Vitamin C Serum. ❤️ Retinol ❤️ Retinol is a product that comes in many forms but is essentially great for skin cell turnover. This can help with fine lines because of this but is essentially a wonderful ingredient for acne because it speeds up that turnover process. For me, this means my breakouts heal faster and it prevents them too. 🔑 Retinol should be slowly incorporated into your skincare routine. I started with it once per week to start. It can initially cause purging, or seemingly more breakouts, which can last up to a few weeks depending on your skin and that’s ok. Stick with it as your skin cleans itself out because eventually it will be once of your favorites for preventing breakouts. You’ll gradually build up use with retinol. I personally like to pair with a heavier moisturizer like Healing Ointment by CeraVe and they’re an awesome pair. I recommend using retinol at night because the sun’s rays can make this less effective. I try to not mix too many actives on my face at once and Vitamin C and retinols do not always mix well and can irritate the skin. By having them applied at different times of day, you give your skin multiple perks over a long period of time. ✨Ceramides✨ Ceramides are fats found in high concentrations in the upper layers of skin. Aging and sun damage reduce the effectiveness of your skin’s natural ceramides which weakens your skin’s barrier. This can result in redness, irritation and dryness. Adding them helps your skin’s barrier and increases hydration which gives you plumper skin with less visible lines and fewer signs of sensitivity. 🔑 I love to have these in my moisturizers. After I cleanse, while my skin is still wet, I use a serum and then a moisturizer with Ceramides. It’s THE best. LEAH - ROSE+GLOW FACIAL OIL CeraVe - Healing Ointment

Skincare routine for my sensitive skin!!
Skincare routine for my sensitive skin!!
My skin type: sensitive & acne-prone skin · STEP1: FIRST AID BEAUTY - Gentle Foaming Face Cleanser I have used it for a month, and I seriously love this stuff, super gentle on my sensitive skin! It's a silky formula that leaves my skin very soft. I only had a few minor breakouts, but nothing like I had before. The bottle is pretty big, so it'll last me a while, but I'll be repurchasing this once I run out! · STEP2: Darphin - INTRAL Toner I have sensitive skin and have always had adverse reactions to toners, so I skip them. However, I love the intral cleansing milk, so I was curious about this toner and saw such good reviews about it helping others with their redness, so I asked for a trial size of it from a store. After using it each day, I had to buy it. It's easily the most gentle and soothing toner I've ever used. It reduces my redness and feels calming to put on. · STEP3: CAUDALIE - Vinosource SOS Deep Hydration Serum I love this serum! Whenever my face is irritated, I apply it before bed, and by the next day, my skin is smooth, and the serum helps to calm the breakout or tired skin. It is gentle, hydrates, and works well for sensitive skin. It did not fix my dark spots altogether, but it does even out the skin a little. Give it a try :)
