My Acne Journey (Long Story)
Hi there! My name is Chelle, and like I’m sure many of you have dealt with, I have been in a battle with acne since I was a teenager. It’s been the bane of my existence and a constant thwart to my self-confidence. About 4 years ago, I started using Curology - Curology formula

BELIEVE THE HYPE? Personalized acne care.
You’ve seen the ads and the YouTube videos right? You were skeptical too? YUP, me too. Is Curology worth the investment? We’ve all seen the ads and videos. I caved in 6 months ago and decided to try curology . Last fall my skin started to break out and I had a hard time getting it under control, so I said why not and ordered my first bottle of curology . My first bottle was a really, in my opinion, generic formula. My formula was Niacinamide, Azelaic Acid, and Clindamycin. From working in a dermatology office, I knew my formula wasn’t anything special. I noticed other reviews that had the same formula, so my guess is that is the “go to” formula for basically everyone. The first formula didn’t do much for me so I reached out to my curology Dr. and she changed my formula for me. My new formula added Zinc into it and I instantly started to see a difference in my skin. Curology - Curology formula I apply this pretty much every night unless I forget. I apply it as my last serum and then lay my moisturizer and face oil over it. + it’s very hydrating. + after adjusting, the formula is just right for me. + it keeps a lot of little breakouts at bay. + when my skin needs a break from my routine, I just use this. + I pay $40 every 2 months for the bigger size bottle. This an experience catered just for my skin, so I can’t speak for everyone, but I have really enjoyed it. It’s part of my routine and I don’t plan on taking it out. If you are looking for something new to try, curology may be for you. The first bottle is free with just $5 shipping. My best advice is to give it at least 3 months to see signs of improvement and have your formula adjusted if needed! I don’t regret this and will continue to keep my subscription! . Who else has tried curology ?
CUROLOGY TO THE RESCUE !!!
So my bff had really bad acne. Hormonal/oily combo + cystic. The worst.... 😭😭 I noticed in February her skin was looking really clear and I asked her what she was using/doing differently. She told me she uses the Curology 3 step system. I was not too thrilled when I heard 3 step system because I had tried other brands like that and it hasn’t worked out for my acne. But I gave it a shot. I signed up for there $5 “trial box” and took really in depth pictures of my acne for the dermatologists down at Curology to concoct me my very own serum to pair with their cleanser + moisturizer. After about 3 days I noticed my skin was clearer. So I was hooked and sad after the trial was over. For about $50 every 2 months they send you your 3 FULL SIZE PRODUCTS! That’s a pretty good deal knowing I’m getting customized skincare to my door ;) also I am from San Diego and this is a San Diego based company !!!! CUROLOGY IS DEF MAKING MY HOMETOWN PROUD 🙏🏻🤩💚 I would try this out if your loosing hope and have tried EVERYTHING. I incorporate the cleanser + moisturizer + acne serum with my toners, serums & face essences and they pair all beautifully! I will be uploading a video tomorrow 5/22 for my DAYTIME ROUTINE showing you my steps with Curology !! ❤️💕❤️💕
baby’s first skincare routine
taking advantage of quarantine to finally put together a grown-up skincare routine! i have oily skin and recurring acne, so i’m still trying to figure out how to curb breakouts. anybody else like these products? or have any other recommendations? 💕 • CLEANSER • CeraVe - Hydrating Facial Cleanser this just feels good to put on. silky smooth, clean, refreshing. GARNIER - SkinActive Micellar Cleansing Water All-in-1 Cleanser & Waterproof Makeup Remover i only use this when i’ve been wearing makeup, which hasn’t been much lately, but it does the trick. it’s also good for when i feel like double cleansing at night. • TONER • THAYERS - Alcohol-Free Witch Hazel Facial Toner love this for helping minimize my pores. sometimes i swab it on mid-day if my skin is feeling extra oily. • ACNE TREATMENT • Neutrogena - On-the-Spot, Acne Treatment i’ve been using this for a million years and it’s great for getting acne to disappear as quickly as possible. just an awesome little spot treatment. Clearasil - Rapid Rescue Deep Treatment Wash this is a nighttime acne wash and it seems to work pretty well. it does have an intense chemical smell, which isn’t my favorite. • MOISTURIZER • Neutrogena - Neutrogena Hydroboost Water Gel Moisturizer 50ml i love this stuff. my roommate thinks it’s an alien serum since it’s so pretty and blue. putting this on at night just makes my skin feel so hydrated and fancy. plus, it’s super light, which is a godsend for oily skin. Neutrogena - Oil Free Facial Moisturizer SPF 15 Sunscreen & Glycerin i put this on in the morning because i know i need some spf, but it still leaves me feeling oily even though there’s no oil in it! still hunting for an spf moisturizer that doesn’t smell so sunscreen-y and feel heavy in my skin.
My holy grail!
I first got this as a sample in my Ipsy bag, but now I have the full size. This moisturizer is super lightweight and hydrating! This is great for oily skin year round or dry skin during the summer. It feel similar to the Neutrogena - Neutrogena Hydroboost Water Gel Moisturizer 50ml , so if you love that moisturizer but want to splurge, I would recommend this. It does contain dye and fragrance though, so if you are sensitive to either of those this may not be the product for you. It also contains denatured alcohol, which is a very drying ingredient, but most people haven’t had a problem with it. Love love LOVE this product!
My Acne Saviors 🤩🤩🤩
These two products have been staples for me in trying to address my hormonal acne!! La Roche-Posay Purifying Foaming Gel Every time I’ve tried to switch to another cleanser I keep returning to this one. The texture is great, a thick gel that foams up nicely with water. My skin feels so soft and clean after. It does leave my skin a little tight after washing so I would be hesitant if you have combination/dry skin. If your skin likes niacinamide THIS IS THE CLEANSER FOR YOU. Peach Slices Acne Spot Dots Similar to the above facial cleanser, I have tried many acne stickers but none work like these little hydrocolloid dots. I have tested them on deep cysts and budding whiteheads alike and have come to the same result— quickly fading acne with little scarring. Highly, highly recommend, especially for those with stubborn, lasting pimples.

Mario Badescu Drying Lotion
I have typically oily skin with the occasional breakout and dry spot, but have been dealing with dryness due to the weather and hormonal acne. According to the Ulta website, this product is formulated with salicylic acid, calamine, and other quick-drying ingredients to quickly shrink whiteheads overnight. I got this in a set with a mini facial mist whenever I was interested in trying the brand. I’ve used this many times, you only need the smallest dab on the pimple for it to work, so this product last forever. At first I wasn’t using this correctly because I was shaking the product and just dipping a q-tip in there and putting that on the blemish. This didn’t have as good of results as whenever I looked at the directions on the package (maybe I shoulda done that in the first place 🤦🏻♀️😂) However, the correct way to use it is not shaking the bottle and just sticking the q-tip the pink paste on the bottom and dotting that on the pimple. I had the best luck with this whenever I used it on popped blemishes (I know, I know, don’t come for me), I would immediately use this on top of it and not use any skincare around that area and by morning the pimple was mostly gone!! I was so amazed. I used to love this stuff, but now I’m meh about it and hardly reach for it now that I have pimple patches. I would recommend this to those who are more environmentally friendly since pimple patches can create extra waste, but you do need a q-tip to apply this or some similar device and this is cheaper than pimple patches (depending on brand you buy for those). I do think this is worth the price because it actually does shrink pimple overnight and it hardly takes any time to use! MARIO BADESCU - Plastic Bottle Drying Lotion Price: $17 for 1.0 oz Rating: 5/5

Cetaphil - DermaControl Oil Control Moisturizer SPF 30 This is 100% my favourite moisturizer for my skin and the only one I’ve ever used that’s been good for my acne! Finding a good moisturizer has always been a challenge for me, for a couple months a just settled with not using one, but if you have acne and can’t find a moisturizer, I would highly recommend 💖

Hi this is my first post here. And I just want to show you guys my journey. The 1st-3rd pics were the days my face looked really bad. Because I had so many acnes everywhere. I got really sad and my self esteem was really low. I didn’t wanna go out anymore. Because I was embarrassed. The 4th picture was when I had makeup on. As you could see the makeup didn’t help at all. Btw I used the clinique 123 acne set and I tried proactive too. But my acnes got worst. My boyfriend’s sister told me to try beauche set out. She said it really helped her with her acnes. And I did tried it. And finally I’ve seen the difference when days go by. My acnes were vanishing little by little. Until it was really gone. The 5th pic is when my face was finally acne free. The last pic is when I put makeup on. You could see the differences from my 4th pic with makeup on. Anyways you can buy beuche from ebay or amazon. Trust me I was scared at first. But now I don’t regret trying it out. I’m very thankful that I finally found a skincare that really works. Feel free to ask me any questions. Differin gel is a retinoid formula that was previously only available by prescription. It’s specifically formulated to help with stubborn acne, and it was a saving grace for me for several years. I started using the gel on the recommendation of a friend in pharmacy school. I was warned that my acne would probably get worse before it got better, which it did. But when it got better, it was way better! Before using Differin, I had used Proactiv for years, and while it made a dent in my acne, I still had a lot. Differin was drying for a while, but once I found a good moisturizer, the dryness wasn’t an issue. The texture is a thin gel that absorbs very quickly. You’re supposed to apply it once a day on dry skin, and I used it at night. It’s not cosmetically elegant or fancy, because it’s not supposed to be—but it does work. The only reason I stopped using Differin is because while my inflamed acne was pretty much gone, I was still getting a lot of closed comedones and I had some scarring I wanted to clear up. I got a Curology prescription for tretinoin, which can’t be used with Differin. I still have a lot left in this tube, so I’ve been using it as an occasional spot treatment and on my occasional chest acne. I would recommend this to anyone dealing with mild or moderate acne. Since it was previously only by prescription, the main ingredient is very effective for clearing up acne. The larger tube (seen here) is about $30, but it lasted me around 4 months every time I used it. I would recommend buying the large tube if you’re just starting out with it, as it will take at least 3 months of consistent use to see the effects. Just remember to get a good moisturizer—Differin sells several good basic ones for very reasonable prices.
DIFFERIN-Acne Treatment Gel
CeraVe for the WIN!
This gentle salicylic acid lotion has almost eliminated my chest and back acne. I’ve been using this for weeks now and have no plans on stopping. I need to purchase the tub soon. If you suffer from chest or back acne, give this lotion a try. It’s affordable and so effective. Best drugstore purchase I’ve made regarding body care. I highly recommend it.
