🎯Ingrown hairs—these two little words conjure🎯
In our quest for smooth, stubble-free skin, ingrown hairs are an annoyance at best and cause for concern at worst (trust me- you don't want to see what they look like when they get infected)🤐 The cause of ingrown hairs isn't complicated. Simply put, when your hair starts to grow, sometimes it curls inward and gets trapped back under the surface of your skin. This can happen because dead skin cells clog up your hair follicle (so always, always exfoliate), but ingrowns also exist just because of your hair's natural growth pattern—so, unfortunately, those with curly hair may suffer the most!
Aspirin-Honey TreatmentThis recipe is a double whammy. Not only does aspirin naturally contain salicylic acid, but honey also has antibacterial properties, which can help reduce the possibility of inflammation and infection. 🔎Ingredients: 3 uncoated aspirin tablets 1 tsp. honey 1/2 to 1 tsp. water or oil Directions: Add warm water or oil to a bowl Add honey Crush aspirin tablets Mix together Leave mask on for 10 minutes Wipe off entirely with warm water
Coconut Oil Sugar ScrubCoconut oil, for example, is hydrating, keeps skin moisturized, and reduces inflammation.4 It's basically our winter skin savior. Mix it with raw sugar and you've got a winner. You can use this scrub daily until you see an improvement, and then you can switch to two to three times a week. Just be careful that the scrub isn't too abrasive. 🔎Ingredients: 1 cup of raw sugar 1/2 cup of coconut oil 10 drops of tea tree oil, or your preferred essential oil Directions: Combine sugar and coconut oil in a bowl Add in essential oil Mix together Apply and then rinse using warm water Dry with a clean towel
Baking Soda and Oatmeal TreatmentI am huge fan of baking soda and how amazing this ingredient is! And rediciliously cheap. Baking soda, which is a great exfoliator, helps reduce and prevent ingrown hairs. Oatmeal has a soothing effect, reducing redness and irritation caused by exfoliation. 🔎Ingredients: 1 tbsp. baking soda 1 cup of water 1 tbsp. ground oatmeal Directions: Mix baking soda and oatmeal together Add water to the bowl Stir until it has a paste-like texture Using a cotton pad, scoop up the mixture Apply to the affected area and let sit for 10 minutes Rinse with warm water
Oil-Based Serumif you're particularly sensitive, it's best to avoid overly harsh scrubs. Abrasive scrubs like sugar and salt scrubs do exfoliate the skin but often at the expense of causing excess skin irritation 🔎Ingredients: 1 tbsp. castor oil 1 tbsp. hemp oil (optional) 10 drops tea tree oil Directions: Find a reusable glass bottle Combine castor oil and hemp oil Add tea tree oil to mix Apply combination after shaving to prevent irritation alba BOTANICA - Acne Dote, Face & Body Scrub Oil-Free

Alba Botanica - Acnedote Face & Body Scrub
After experiencing some minor breakouts on my back I picked up this scrub at my local Target. I wasn’t expecting much for $6 but two years later it has a permanent spot in my shower. Despite its claims as being a body AND face scrub I recommend this for body rather than face. I’ve used it on my face in a pinch but it’s too rough for my liking. - Ingredients include 2% salicylic acid, willow bark, and ground walnut shell - Clears acne without over drying the skin - Invigorating, slightly minty scent with no artificial fragrance - Does contain witch hazel which I know is *not* for everyone I use this scrub whenever I get a body breakout and to keep ingrowns at bay in my bikini area. It keeps me soft and smooth. Good for the body, not for the face 😊 alba BOTANICA - Acne Dote, Face & Body Scrub Oil-Free
Month 1 Curology & Differin- The Purge Is Real
I’ve always had acne, but at 21 I started getting hormonal acne on my cheeks, chin and jaw- super painful and red! I am currently experiencing a lot of purging after a month exactly on Curology & Differin due to doctor and friend recommendation. I also got my hormonal IUD (Kyleena) out on Friday (10/09?) and I feel like my acne has been hormonally linked more than anything. I started taking Sprintec hormonal BC so we’ll see how it goes. My first derm appointment is Nov 1st- not soon enough! I wasn’t exactly informed til about two weeks in that my skin would be worse, which was pretty shitty, but it is what it is. I’m at about week 5 1/2 and have found some products work better or worse for me. I have very sensitive skin- parts of my body are prone to eczema but my face is combo (oily/dry) and prone to acne (hormonal mostly). My routine: AM- Curology cleanser Curology moisturizer (it’s very light/gel) but more often now I use the TO moisturizer lately (for dry/sensitive skin) I use Micellar cleansing water with cotton pads during the day if I sweat or wear my mask 😷 then apply moisturizer again if my skin barrier looks dry- it usually does nowadays.. PM- Double cleanse with Curology cleanser or Alba SA Cleanser (gently exfoliates) when I need to exfoliate Curology moisturizer or TO moisturizer (usually TO) Curology formula every other night / Differin every other night (I never use together even though at first I was🤧)- I might decrease the use of these but idk what to do Curology moisturizer or TO moisturizer (sway toward this) Please give me tips or reassurance that I’m doing okay! Best of luck to any girlies or others💜 struggling with maskcne, cystic acne and hormonal acne.... I feel ya! 💘
Are you dealing with butt acne? Read this!
-Hi! Thanks for reading me in advance. ✨- Buttne is a shorthand for butt acne. Which is a very common and uncomfortable skin condition so don’t feel bad about it. 😋 In addition of giving you a very bad bump in your butt it is also very painful and itchy as well. Butt acne is not usually the common acne, is a folliculitis. What is a folliculitis? Well, is a mild infection of the hair follicle that leads to pus pimples or red bumps. This non regular pimple are caused by a combination of your follicles getting blocked and a bacterial infection. Sometimes the causes are very gross, or they can be a “wait, really!?” 😳 If you keep your wet sweaty clothes after you hit the gym, then expect buttne. If you spend long hours sitting down, then this friction and irritation will cause those follicles to get clogged. If your case is wearing undies past their time, which is gross, but totally expect Buttne with this. Do not wear tight-fitting clothes too much either! This traps sweat and oil against your skin, which... you know what can happen. Let’s say you have these, well there is not problem with it. We got the solution! 😗 I suggest you to try these at home options to help your peach look better. 🙊 Try a salicylic acid body wash. This will help you to unclogged those pores by exfoliating your skin. You can also try to target your butt with a benzoyl peroxide body wash. This is very effective to treat acne and folliculitis because of its antimicrobial ingredients. You can also bright up acne marks with glycolic acid. Try to moisturize your butt with a lactic acid lotion whenever you get the chance. Don’t feel scare, this won’t clog your pores. If you shave, try to shave the right way. Don’t go against the grain of your hair. If these solutions or any other don’t work. Then a consultation with a dermatologist will help you more. :) I useful tip is to leave the acne medication sit on your skin for 8-10 minutes. This way it can penetrate the skin before washing it off. Maybe put the product before you step on the shower, shampoo your hair, condition your hair, maybe shave, sing some songs. And then wash it off :) Some good products for Buttne: PanOxyl - Acne Foaming Wash Benzoyl Peroxide 10% Maximum Strength Neutrogena - Rapid Clear Stubborn Acne Cream Cleanser PETER THOMAS ROTH - Max Complexion Salicylic Acid Pore Refining Pads skinfix - Resurface+ Glycolic Renewing Scrub Amlactin - Daily Moisturizing Body Lotion I hope this little info helps you out! Let me know if you try them, and which one worked for you! :) There is not shame on having Buttne. I myself have experience this and is totally normal! Enjoy your day! 🥰
Best Lotion for Body Hyperpigmentation/Marks‼️
Finally found it people! A lotion that does the job of clearing my hyperpigmentation without having to go and pay for treatment (although it would have been much faster, but in this economy... 😅) The pictures are different shoulders cut from pictures that I have in my gallery, but my hyperpigmentation was in both shoulders and back! In both areas, my skin has CLEARED so much‼️There’s still progress to be made... Amlactin - Daily Moisturizing Body Lotion I’ve gone through VARIOUS lotions and all of them either cause breakouts or just wasn’t showing results for the hyperpigmentation. This one does not cause me any breakout and has alpha hydroxy therapy at an AFFORDABLE PRICING (compared to others with this technology). They also recently started selling it on Walgreens, although I still buy it from Amazon, since it’s way cheaper. Would highly recommend, it’ll take some weeks to start seeing the results, but it worked and continuous to work for me! #CheriePartner
CERAVE keratosis Pilaris treatment
CeraVe - SA Moisturizing Cream For Rough & Bumpy Skin this is meant to treat keratosis Pilaris - also known as strawberry 🍓 skin or chicken skin because of the bumps and coloration of the bumps in some individuals. ( my bumps are generally flat but red ) CeraVe is a hit or miss from me - I’ve bought some stuff I never want to try again and other things I’ll keep repurchasing! 🌟 this ones a hit! It has helped get rid of the bumps and redness on my arms. I’ve tried the gold bond brand and amalactin for my strawberry arms and they haven’t helped much. CeraVe has helped clear up my arms. I’d buy again!
My New PM Hyperpigmentation Routine
Hey Everyone 🤎 I recently started my new PM routine at the end of October, and I am already starting to see changes. I started this routine because my hyperpigmentation started to get out of control, and I felt like I needed to change my PM routine so I can fight my PIH. I have started to see little changes in spots that were lighter, the darker spots have improved, but still have ways to go. I will share pictures of my improvements shortly. The routine is simple, however, I am excited for the day I can make my routine even more simpler. 1. Oil cleanse with #Cake - Gelato Cleansing Balm[products]#[FiveStars] 2. Cleanse with CeraVe - Foaming Facial Cleanser For Normal To Oily Skin 3. Apply THE inkey LIST - Tranexamic Acid Hyperpigmentation Treatment (my previous post reviews this product) 4. Apply The Ordinary - Alpha Arbutin 2% + HA 5. Moisturize with CeraVe - SA Moisturizing Cream For Rough & Bumpy Skin 6. Lastly, I applyThe Ordinary - 100% Organic Cold Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil
Possible Nighttime Routine? 🤷🏾♀️❓
I did some research AGAIN on a proper PM skincare regimen and I feel enlightened, AGAIN 🙄, on what I should be doing for my skin. Things learned: 1. PM skin regimens will have a few more added steps than your daytime routine 2. Use serums/face oils before cream or lotion moisturizer (depending on the oil) 3. Vitamin C must be my “go-to” for my acne prone skin🤷🏾♀️ 4. LAYERING IS CRUCIAL!!!!! Tonight I did the same thing I did earlier today with cleansing my face; African black soap, acne treatment with Clear Start by Dermalogica, CeraVe moisturizing cream, and misted my face with Mario Badescu. Now, upon doing my research I learned that layering your products is extremely vital to positive results ❤️, just like hair! (I looovvvveeeeeee hair care 😬) Here is exactly the order I LAYERED my products⬇️ 1. African black soap 2. Glycolic Toner 3. Eye cream 4. Acne treatment 5. Acne serum 6. Hydrating mist 7. Moisturizer 8. Face oil I am going to try this for 1 week and monitor the progress. I’ve never had a specific night routine. I typically do the same thing in the evening that I do in the mornings for my face. So, here’s to hoping for better results 🥂

Eczema & Dry Skin Products 💧
If you’re like me, you deal with dryness, patchiness, itchiness all over your body. This isn’t new to me - I’ve had eczema since I was 7 and it has flared up in many different ways and on different parts of my body since then. One of my major triggers for my flare ups is stress 😣 Unfortunately, once I get a flare-up, it can take me months before I’m able to get my skin calm and back to “normal” again. Two products that I started using religiously to help with my issues are the SkinFix Resurface+ Glycolic Renewing Scrub & Babo Botanicals Fragrance Free Shampoo and Wash (there is an adult version but they share the exact same formula and the adult version is $5+ more than the baby product.) skinfix - Resurface+ Glycolic Renewing Scrub I really love this scrub for getting the dry skin off my body and helping to renew my skin cells. It issues bamboo crystals and AHAs to bulldoze through that rough skin and helps it to feel smooth af 😆 One of the only hiccups with this product, though, is those bamboo crystals. I feel they are a bit too sharp & rough and they have actually cut my skin in the past 🤭 if they switched to pumice or a finer crystal, this scrub would be absolutely perfect! But for now, it’s the best body scrub/exfoliation I have used to date. babo BOTANICALS - Sensitive Baby Fragrance Free Shampoo & Wash For Sensitive & Eczema-Prone Skin, EWG Verified I really do love this body wash, and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND it for people with super sensitive skin. It is completely fragrance free and not harsh like other body washes can be (also can be used as a intimate wash for people with vulvas.) However, my one hiccup with this, is that I feel like I have to use A LOT of product to use on my entire body. But overall, is a great formula for those dealing with sensitivities, eczema, rosacea, sunburns, acne etc... A bit more on the pricey side ($20) but worth it IMO. What other products have you all used to combat body eczema and dryness? I would love other recommendations to try out! Let me know in the comments below 🖤🙌🏽

Check it out ⬇️ • wash my face with “Our Earth’s Secrets” African Black soap from Ghana (you can find this on Amazon) • moisturize with CeraVe Moisturizing cream. VOILLLLAAAA ✨ That’s it!

A Foolproof 7 Step Leg Care Guide
Here is a step by step guide that I have tried the past few times I’ve shaved and I have noticed a difference in how my hairs have grown back and the reducing pigmentation. For reference, I have thick coarse hairs against fair skin and had a lot of ingrown hairs before I started taking care of my legs. I start off the shaving process an hour before I actually shave. 1. Wash legs thoroughly and gently. I use: JĀSON - Pure Natural Body Wash, Soothing Aloe Vera This is a gentle and moisturizing body wash with aloe vera in its formula. I make sure my legs are clean of any dirt or dead skin that may have been trapped in its pores, and rinse with lukewarm water to minimize skin irritation. 2. Dry your legs and massage with jojoba oil. I use the Muji jojoba oil as it is the cheapest option I could find where I live. The formula is light and does not leave an oily residue on my skin. This step will ensure that you shave against moisturized skin. 3. Wash your legs again after an hour or more before you shower! The jojoba oil will also free any dirt or oils that may have been trapped in your pores. 4. Exfoliate your legs after taking a regular shower and washing your legs. And be gentle! I use a LUSH exfoliant that leaves my skin feeling so soft and nice after using it. LUSH - Rub Rub Rub 5. Lather your wet legs with a shaving cream. I use LUSH’s Prince shaving cream which not only conditions my leg hair before shaving, but also tones and tightens pores to prime them for shaving. The formula is infused with rose water which soothes and calms irritated skin. LUSH - Prince Shaving Cream 6. Shave with a good razor. I found that a lot of razors marketed towards women are often too expensive and are not sharp enough, so I switched to a men’s razor and have not looked back. I use Gillette Mach 3 Sensitive and it has given me amazing, close shaves unlike any feminine razor I have ever tried. I also rinse my legs again after shaving. 7. Dry your legs and moisturize! I use an aloe vera gel first to soothe my legs after shaving and to reduce any irritation, then use Cetaphil’s moisturizing lotion which has shea butter, vitamin E and B5 to maintain moisture and help reduce hyperpigmentation. The formula is lightweight and doesn’t leave a greasy residue on the skin. #DEWYTREE - Green Power Aloe Soothing Gel 98%[products]#[FourStars] Cetaphil - Cetaphil Moisturizing Lotion For maintenance in between shaves, I use jojoba oil and aloe gel to moisturize my legs in the morning, and Cetaphil moisturizing lotion at night. My skin is feeling a lot smoother and I don’t get strawberry legs and the bumpy and itchy ingrown hairs like I used to, and I won’t be changing this routine anytime soon since it is so effective for me!

key ingredients: Truly Unicorn CBD body butter
Hi! What a lovely texture right? I wish you could smells it. TRULY - Unicorn CBD Whipped Body Butter Key Ingredients: — acai berries have anti-aging properties that also help fight free radicals through antioxidants. This is great for all skin types! — matcha // matcha powder helps reduce inflammation and also gentle exfoliates (which I had no idea about). This is best for normal to redness prone skin! (Like mine - rosacea) — cbd promotes healthy skin, is relief from redness and irritation, and helps normalize the agents that make skin acne prone. Obviously this is good for all skin types, especially acne prone! Claims: — nourishing — hydrating — mostly organic — Fragrance is low on list of ingredients! My thoughts — I took a ton of photos of this texture before I dug in. How cute is that swirl! — I love the scent so much, just like candy — but the good candy, like the rainbow sour ribbons from candy shops. — this is very hydrating and calming, but takes a while to sink in. — the texture is thick, kind of frosting like consistency at first. — I don’t use this often, but I like using it on parts of my body that are irritated or inflamed, as it’s very calming and soothes my skin. — $35 for 6oz

So i’ve been using the CeraVe Moisturizing Cream as my body lotion and every time i’ve used it, it has broken me out! I bought it because of the CeraVe hype but i don’t want to use it anymore. Almost the same goes for the Daily Moisturizing Lotion. It doesn’t break me out on my face, but i can tell it not helping me solve my acne problem. Please leave some comments below as to what i should do. Let me know of some affordable body lotions that don’t break you out, or just any in general that don’t break you out. And i also would really appreciate it if you leave some recommendations for moisturizers for the face that are for combination to oily skin. I would be very grateful if you leave a comment because i really want to find my holy grail products once and for all. Thank you so much! :)
