Why to Add HA Serum to your Routine
The Ordinary’s Hyaluronic Acid serum is a cult favourite. It has won an Allure Beauty Award in 2019. It retails for only $6.80 CAD. When winter came and I was noticing that my skin was feeling dry by midday it was an easy decision to add it to my routine! Claims It is a pure vegan hyaluronic acid that includes low, medium and high molecular weight hyaluronic acid, at a concentration of 2%. It is supported by Vitamin B5 for enhanced hydration. It targets dryness. Good for all skin types. Hyaluronic Acid (HA) Hyaluronic Acid helps plump fine lines and improves elasticity and dryness. It’s a great addition to your skincare routine once you are in your 30s to help with hydration, as the amount of HA in our skin decreases as we get older. HA is sugar that is found naturally in our skin. It can hold 1000x its weight in water. Eating a diet with lots of fruits & vegetables with antioxidants can also help us retain HA. HA can we found in HA serums, an addition to serums with other actives, and creams. HA plays well with most other ingredients. A cream or serum with HA in different molecular weights allows it to seep into different layers of skin. HA are typically less expensive than other serums such as Vit C. It works best when applied to a damp face or before a water-based serum or moisturizer because it pulls the water into your skin. Otherwise it could pull the water out of your skin. Dry, redness prone, sensitive skin
Hi everyone :) Since I can remember I’ve dealt with dry and sensitive skin. My skin is always red to some level. I’ve been to dermatologists in the past and they always said it was something I would grow out of. I’m 27 and while my skin has improved over time, I still have a lot of redness. I was never told that I have rosacea, but I’m pretty that’s what I’m dealing with! Wondering if anyone has any suggestions for products that might help? While my current routine works well for my skin, I’m curious to see if there’s anything else I could incorporate to help with my redness. Thanks in advance!

You’re new best friend HYALURONIC ACID
Hyaluronic acid? Who is she? She’s your new best friend also called “hyaluronan” hyaluronic acid is found naturally in your body, it’s in your eyes, skin, and connective tissue (she does it all.) hyaluronic acid main function is to retain moisture, it can hold up to 1000x times it weight in moisture! So what is it gonna do? It is going to trap that moisture from the air suck it in and slap it right onto your pretty perfect face And keep your skin hydrated, smooth, plump, and cute! Once it does that it’s actually going to tell your sebaceous gland to slow down on the production of sebum, so if you have oily dehydrated skin this will work the wonders you’ve been looking for. Hyaluronic has plentiful of Benefits, it helps wounds especially from acne so it will help heal instead of scar. Sense your body produces hyaluronic acid it’s actually very rare for someone to have allergic reaction to this ingredient! What I’ve done is put together 3 products ranging from $5 to $100 let’s say hi and talk about them! The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 the ordinary brand has been making its way across social media and I have to say for around $5 you can’t beat it, it has 15 forms of hyaluronic acid & B5 that enhances hydration but one of the negatives is that it has a PH level of 6-7.5 your skin needs to stay between 4.5-5.5 so after using this product you will need a nice toner to bring your skin balance back down to the proper PH. PAULA'S CHOICE - Hyaluronic Acid Booster Paulas choice has been around for A long time! She knows what she’s doing out there 💋 after water hyaluronic is the 3rd ingredient in this product and has been apart of 7 RESEARCH STUDYS SENSE 2003! For a whopping $36 I think if you have the extra coin to try it! Now with this product there are more Pro reviews than there are CONS but on the CON side the main issue seems to be people are having reactions to other ingredients in this product. SKINCEUTICALS - Hyaluronic Acid Intensifier Serum THIS RIGHT HERE! She is one of the top products recommended by dermatologist out on the market she goes for a hefty $100 but lets dive a little deeper, 10% proxy lane which helps the hyaluronic acid levels on your skin stay balanced for a longer time 0.2% purple rice extract, helps preserve hyaluronic acid 1.3% hyaluronic acid (this is the golden number of how much hyaluronic acid you would want in a product) With these ingredients it’s amplifies hyaluronic acid by 30%! Hope this helped you beautiful people out just a little, please follow me for more product knowledge and next time we will dig deeper into KNOWING YOUR CORRECT SKIN TYPE! Stay beautiful stay sexy, you all are perfect the way you are💋❤️
HELP: STARTING A NEW ROUTINE?! 🤪
Hey all!! I’m newer to the skin scare space and looking for AM/PM routine suggestions. My skin is normal/combo and recently I’ve been having frequent dehydration which may be due to extra exercise in my daily routine. I’m looking for products to keep my skin CLEAN, HYDRATED, PROTECTED, PLUMP and GLOWY. I do have acne scars on my forehead, sides of my face, and chin. My most acne prone area is around my chin and it has been like this for the past few months- breakouts in that area every other day. I’ve been looking into the following products to help my skin: Cleanser: CeraVe - Hydrating Facial Cleanser Possible along with the CeraVe - Renewing SA Cleanser For Normal Skinfor my acne problem area hydration: PAULA'S CHOICE - Hyaluronic Acid Booster Or The Ordinary - Marine Hyaluronics Or DRUNK ELEPHANT - B-Hydra Intensive Hydration Serum For hydration Evening skin tone: PAULA'S CHOICE - 10% Niacinamide Boosterfor evening skin tone For additional serums/essences to make the skin appear more glowy/youthful I was thinking of trying: Krave - Great Barrier Relief Or TATCHA - Luminous Deep Hydration Firming Serum Exfoliation: PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliator Moisturizer: Open to suggestions. Heard good things about CeraVe and Youth to the People The products I’m using now are Okay but I would like to step it up and have clear glowy skin without needing to use makeup :) I appreciate any suggestions/tips from more experienced skin care lovers 💖💖

PORE WARRIOR : first impressions
PACIfICA - Pore Warrior Oil Fighter Booster Serum i hesitantly give this a rating of 4 stars for multiple reasons. i had the pleasure of using this serum for about a week before i unfortunately accidentally spilled it on my floor. from what i understand, products strong in niacinamide can often take up to three months to take full effect so my short experience with this serum is in no way indicative of the results of someone who had used this product for much longer. THAT ALL BEING SAID... this was my experience with this product! the texture is very slippery and similar to the PACIfICA - Water Bounce Moisture Shot Booster Serumthat i have also used. i would maybe also compare it to the VICHY - Minéral 89 Face Serumbut less gel-like. the scent is light and kale-like, but far lighter in fragrance than any other pacifica serum i have used. it felt very nice and seeped into the skin well and adding a moisturizer or wearing makeup on top did not cause any issues. i did not experience any irritation using it. i wish i could have continued to use it and see if there were any long-term benefits :( hope you guys enjoyed! feel free to follow here and on my IG @chloebrk.mua

Hi lovelies 💕 Here is what I’ve been using for the past few months and I just want to say - a very simple routine goes a long way. Cleanser: your skin should feel clean after you wash your face, but it shouldn’t feel ‘squeaky’. I think there are no need to use cleanser with active ingredients and acids as they strip your skin of your natural oils & pretty much leave your skin irritated. Gentle cleanser works best for me. I normally cleanse 1 time in the morning, and 2 times at night. Serum: I always apply serums while my skin is still wet. I don’t dry my face with a towel all the way, better yet, let your skin dry on its own and apply your serums while the skin it a bit wet. I warm up my serum in my hands for 2 seconds before I apply it to my face. This specific serum from Vichy is great, and it is safe to use on your eyes so I apply it everywhere. Moisturizer: something I did not know when I was younger - no matter what your skin type is, moisturize. Find a moisturizer that works for you and apply it every.single.day. I had a bit of an oily skin growing up and thought a moisturizer would make it more oily and would clog pores, so I skipped that step completely. After trying a bunch of creams/moisturizers/lotions, I am now using the most simple one you can find in any store, and it does it’s job perfectly for me and does not clog my precious pores. I highly recommend a simple moisturizer during the day, no active ingredients needed. SPF: simply a must. Don’t skip it. I wear SPF even when I’m at home as the sun could still get it. Another mistake that I made when I was younger is not wearing SPF which made my PIH worse. I use this ultra light SPF which is non-comedogenic and creates a very good base for makeup. This combo of lotion + SPF is my favourite as they feel light on the skin and they don’t ‘roll’ on the surface. PM: this is where these active ingredients come in handy. Choosing your night treatment is very important as this is when you can address what concerns you the most and the treatment will soak right into your skin and will sit there overnight while you sleep 😴 making your $ count as PM treatments get pricey and you want to get the most of using them. My concerns are PIH and dark spots, niacinimide works very well for me. This very simple PM lotion from Cerave is very effective if you struggle from PIH, I highly recommend it 👍🏼 Don’t forget to drop your suggestions for me in the comments ❤️

My Morning Routine
I haven’t shared a routine for awhile and I’m constantly testing new products out so I wanted to give you a peek into what my typical morning routine looks like these days. I start off with a very small gentle wash with fresh - Soy Face Cleanser Jumbo I received this a long while ago and Fresh is a very popular brand. Unfortunately they are highly fragranced so I never rushed to try this out. I was going to re-gift it but in the end decided to give it a try. It has a light cucumber scent and is very easy to work with. I don’t wear makeup (these days) so I’m not sure how easy it is to remove. I don’t mind it but will not be purchasing any Fresh products. PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliator next I exfoliate every other day with this. I’m a huge fan of hydration products and depending on my mood, and my skins mood, will go in with 2-4 products at this point (essences and hydrating toners). I like to use products versus water to lock in hydration. First I apply with my hands I'm from - Rice Toner and while still damp, (THIS IS IMPORTANT) I add 2-3 drops off GLOW RECIPE - Plum Plump Hyaluronic Acid Serum I am really liking this HA serum and only took a ⭐️ away for added fragrance. Next is my treatment step which in the am is Vitamin c. CAUDALIE - Vinoperfect Radiance Serum The Brightening Solution is said to be 62x’s more effective than vitamin c so I like to trade off using this and any other vitamin c serums I have. I just recently added PAULA'S CHOICE - Resist C15 Super Boosteras at my age I really want to prevent those wrinkles and stop any signs of aging I can! PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Restoring Moisturizer With SPF 50 is the final step. I like having a moisturizer and SPF in one. I like this as my mind is immediately taken to the beach. It has that lovely scent that reminds me of my youth. Upon first application it left a slight white cast that quickly went away and I couldn’t tell I was wearing any sunscreen at all. No heavy, tacky, greasy feeling. There you have it! If you are not a twice a day cleanser and just use water in the am this routine could be simplified even a few more steps. You could skip the rice toner and just use water to dampen before adding HA. Also just using one vitamin c. This would leave you with four steps. I personally like to do a light cleanse in the am as I’m using retinol and heavy moisturizers at night and want to wash them away before coming in with any new products. Otherwise I feel like I am just layering my am products on top of my previous pm ones. Hope my skinnies are staying healthy both mentally and physically. Keep wearing your masks and let’s keep everyone healthy and safe! ❤️🍒😷
Banana Bliss 🍌
I am a sucker for bananas! So when I heard about Glow Recipes Banana Moisturizer I definitely wanted to try it. It only took me forever to do so!!! I personally like this one because it feels lightweight but you get a rich feeling moisturizer. It’s packed with amazing ingredients like banana, chia seed, magnesium, turmeric, and cica all to help keep your skin balanced and hydrated. It does have a banana scent, reminiscent of a banana laffy taffy (which happens to be one of my top favorite candies). The added fragrance is listed as last where as banana is listed in the top 15 so the fragrance is very minimal and can be from the banana BUT although this is listed as non-comedogenic and non-acnegenic there are reviews stating the opposite. If you are prone to breakouts you definitely want to patch test and be aware this has caused breakouts. I’ve had no issues with this and use it both as an am and pm moisturizer. For me that says a lot. I typically use a lighter moisturizer for the am and a heavier for the pm but this is balanced enough for both. I’ve tested a handful of moisturizers over the last few months and I’d put this in the top 3. 1- PAULA'S CHOICE - Resist Barrier Repair Moisturizer, 50ml 2- Milk MAKEUP - Vegan Milk Moisturizer 3- GLOW RECIPE - Banana Soufflé Moisture Cream I’ll have reviews to come on more moisturizers (Kate Somerville, Farmacy Beauty, Paula’s Choice) $39 is pretty average for a moisturizer and I’d say with daily use it would last around two months. The amount shown is all needed to cover face, neck and chest. I’ve actually not been a big Glow Recipe fan. I feel for a K-Beauty brand they are very gimmicky and overpriced but I was pleasantly surprised by this one. And they seem to be coming out with a few more hits that I’d like to try before making a final decision on the brand itself. Hoping to try soon: GLOW RECIPE - Avocado Melt Retinol Eye Sleeping Mask GLOW RECIPE - Blueberry Bounce Gentle Cleanser GLOW RECIPE - Watermelon Glow Pink Juice Moisturizer What I do like of theirs: GLOW RECIPE - Watermelon Glow Jelly Sheet Mask(no longer made 😢 best hydration boost. Next best thing... GLOW RECIPE - Watermelon + AHA Glow Sleeping Mask GLOW RECIPE - Plum Plump Hyaluronic Acid Serum(review coming soon) Have you tried anything from Glow Recipe? What’s been a hit? What’s been a miss? Thanks for reading. Hit the 👏 and follow if you enjoy ❤️ you my skinnies 🍒
Antioxidants are a great addition to sunscreen! EUK 134 by the ordinary is an amazing antioxidant that self-regenerates and calms your skin! Unfortunately my facial skin isn’t the biggest fan of propanediol, which is the main ingredient of the serum. My hands love it though (and let’s face it, I often forget sunprotection on my hands): it even helps preventing my light sun allergy issues!

Product Review - The Ordinary Hyralonic Acid
The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 My Take - As a lover of *hydration* this is the product I didn’t know I needed. So simple. So effective. SUCH a good price. Add to any routine to give a serious hydration boost + glow. Usage- -use AM and/or PM -use after cleansing and applying toner -I use 2 drops on damp skin -I spread around face then use patting motions to really get it everywhere -I follow with other serums then a moisturizer Expect to see- - unlike someone Vitamin Cs or retinol, this product works instantly to plump and hydrate - after a few days of consistent use I notice patches of dry skin disappearing Notes- - a heads up : this product is highly viscous, a little sticky and very gloopy - some reviews I’ve read note pilling when you attempt to apply makeup after use, but I haven’t encountered this issue For anyone with any form of dryness, this product is a no-brainer add to a regime!

Sea Kelp by The Inky List
Hey, it’s Tuesday and once again I’ve failed to create a texture! I’m just not feeling creative lately! . So let’s talk about The Inky List Sea Kelp. I picked up this after hearing @thattzone rave about it. She’s got some of the best reviews so if you’re not following her, I suggest you do so, now! ———- The INKEY List Sea Kelp Serum. What it is: An innovative INKEY lab-edition serum that uses sea kelp and malachite mineral to help to reduce pollution on the skin and strengthen skin's barrier. Highlighted Ingredients: - Sea Kelp Extract 1%: Helps to protect, strengthen, and reduce pollutants from the skin. This serum will help prevent the signs of premature aging as well as improve skins brightness and hydration levels. LIMITED EDITION through Sephora for $9.99 ——— I can say that my skin loves this stuff! It just drinks it up. I’d place it right there with my favorite Hyaluronic acid from The Ordinary but I feel this actually goes on better, just sinks right into my skin. I typically add it into my routine after cleansing, toner, HA, treatments, then serums and followed up by moisturizers. Not sure if I am doing this correctly. If anyone has any suggestions I try differently, let me know. But so far this is working and I’m loving it. I’m not sure how long this serum will be available as it is limited edition so if you’re interested in trying this one out, I suggest you get your hands on it soon! 💚 . I hope you’re all having a great start to your week. I don’t know about you but January has been a tough month for me. I’m ready for February and plan to hit it hard! Put this crappy month behind me

The best Affordable Hyaluronic Acid!
This is a hydrating serum which is mainly recommended for dry/dehydrated skin (I have combination skin) that uses vegan hyaluronic acid and combines three types of moleculer weight hyaluronic acid (low, medium and high). It also includes Vitamin B5 that works as an anti-inflammatory for reducing blemishes, stabilize skin barrier and increasing the amount of water the skin holds on to. This serum has a thick viscosity and at the start feels sticky (which turned me off in the beginning) but give it a few seconds and then it absorbs into the skin completely with no feeling of tackiness. It layers well with other skincare products and sunscreen. I use it am/pm after I cleanse my skin. I fell in love with this serum because it helped so much with my skins texture it’s more smooth, my skin is less congested since I started using this serum in conjunction with my other skincare products and treatments I use like, my favorite apple cider vinegar acid peel from The Inkeylist (is a must try). Even though my skin is combination it’s perfect for it because it keeps my skin hydrated without feeling I have a layer of product just sitting on my skin especially in the summer, my face sweats a lot and I can’t use heavy products. I highly recommend this I’m almost done with this 1oz bottle and just ordered the 2oz for $12!! I can’t stop using it I’ve tried a decent amounts of products from The Ordinary but this is a stand out! One of my favorite, its perfection in a bottle!!

PAULA'S CHOICE - Resist C15 Super Booster 🧪After I raved about the @paulaschoice VitC booster, my product started to oxidize!! It started to transition from a clear solution to a light orange solution, but remained useable. Then, as the orange colour became more prominent, a smell started to develop, and the solution started to dry very sticky on my face - it was no longer useable at this state. I was so sad that it had oxidized in just around 3 months. I even stored it in a dark bag and kept it in my closet where the temperature does not really fluctuate. I have about half a bottle left so I am really heartbroken about the wasted product. I would love to repurchase this only if it is sold in half of its current volume. But for now, I’ll play with my oxidized vitC for #texturetuesday 🤪!

I love this retinol
. I started using this retinol every other night after getting recommendations from @theinkeylist and o boy this stuff is working amazingly well on my skin! . . The texture is so light weight and absorbs into skin beautifully also my skin was visibly brighter and I was focusing more into my smile line ( as I am v expressive 🙈) and I feel they looks minimized . Also this retinol is super gentle and I think it’s great for my age skin to use and get maximum benefit me! . Love it! I recommend it! 🖤🤍 . THE inkey LIST - Retinol Serum
