Updated AM Routine

My first post was about my AM routine, and since it’s been 6 months, I thought it would be a good time to post an updated AM routine! For reference, I have dry, sensitive, and acne-prone skin. So here are the products I currently use- 1. VANICREAM - Gentle Facial Cleanser
I recently made the switch from CeraVe - Hydrating Facial Cleanser
, and I am absolutely loving it! It’s still gentle, but it provides an amazing deep clean! My skin is so soft and clean after using it. It’s the perfect first step for my routine. I use one pump with my Innerneed silicone face scrubber. ($8.99 for 8oz at Target.) 2. HADALABO - Gokujyun Premium Lotion
: This hyaluronic acid solution contains 5 different molecular weight of hyaluronic acid to penetrate deeply into the skin. It has a gel-like texture. I apply a small amount on damp skin. It leaves my skin feeling plump, hydrated, and glowing. ($15.89 for 5.75oz on Amazon.) 3. CeraVe - Moisturizing Cream For Normal To Dry Skin
: This is the moisturizer that I keep coming back to. I have yet to find one that I like better! It’s very thick and moisturizing. It absorbs best when I apply it while my skin is still damp from the hyaluronic acid lotion. It provides a matte finish and keeps my skin soft & hydrated throughout the day! ($9.99 for 8oz at Target.) 4. Krave - The Beet Shield
: This is my favorite sunscreen! It’s unlike any sunscreen I’ve ever tried. It’s so light, not sticky, and hydrates my skin! I can reapply it throughout the day without feeling like I have a ton of product on my face. This is my one “splurge” product! ($20 for 1.69oz at Kravebeauty.com) Total routine costs: $54.87 Stay tuned for my PM routine!

I don’t know what to do
The first photo to the left is my left side of my face on November 3rd of 2020, the second photo the right is the left side of my face today Janurary 10th 2021 November 2nd is the first day I started tretinoin 0.025% Around December 15th I believe I decided to switch to differin instead because I had lost my Health insurance so I couldn’t afford it. Since then my skin care routine has comepletely changed Im not sure why my skin just keeps getting worse. My cysts and spots will go down and as soon as they are looking good I get a bunch of cystic spots all over, every single one of my closed comedones are turning into big red cysts and pimples that take forever to go away, none of my acne goes away within a few days. I feel like it’s just spreading and I’m getting more and more closed comedones as well. This is my routine *i started with tretinoin Nov 2nd 2020, I used it every 3 nights for a few weeks and then went on to use it every other night up until around December 15th 2020 I started using Differin i started using that every 3 nights for the first week and some, then I used it every other night for a few weeks and now I’ve been using it every single night consistently the past few weeks* AM •DIFFERIN - Daily Deep Cleanser BPO 5% OR VANICREAM - Gentle Facial Cleanser •LA ROCHE-POSAY - Toleriane Double Repair Face Moisturizer UV SPF 30 PM •VANICREAM - Gentle Facial Cleanser •e.l.f. - Holy Hydration! Face Cream - Fragrance Free •DIFFERIN - DIFFERIN Acne Treatment Gel My routine as you can see is very simple, my face is just getting worse and I don’t know if it’s because I’m purging still, or something is making me breakout?! I’m feeling hopeless 😩 my PIH and scaring is so bad already and it’s just getting worse :,( please help I’ll take any advice I could get. I’m seeing a derm on the 18th of this month I finally saved some money for. I’m hoping they can help me :(

How I fixed my skin 😇
So I know my skin still isn’t perfect (is anyone’s skin perfect tho??) but it looks a lot better!!!! I went to many dermatologists who never told me I had fungal acne 😒 they always recommended creams and stuff that just dried out my skin more but didn’t help! So one day I googled “it feels like there are rocks in my skin” and I figured out that i had fungal acne 😝 I didn’t even know there were different types of acne!! Right away I started using Nizoral - Anti Dandruff Shampoo which helped a lot but didn’t solve the problem Then recently I learnt about a website you can use to test ingredients to see if they are fungal acne safe! Website: folliculitisscout.com I tested all my skin care and gave my mom any products that had triggers! I SWITCHED UP MY ENTIRE SKIN CARE ROUTINE and it was worth it 🙌🏼 I used that website ^ to help me find the right products for my skin which I posted in the photos! I’ve also reviewed them all in individual posts! 🥳 I hope this helps somebody 🥰 I’ve had bad skin since I was like 12 years old and now I’m 22 and just learnt how to fix it! Also my last post was about a homemade mask I made with just honey and oat flour and my skin has been feeling amazing because of it so I also recommend trying that 💖

Updated PM Routine
Hey guys! I recently posted my updated AM routine, so now it’s time for my updated PM routine! It’s mostly the same products, minus SPF and adding in actives. For reference, I have dry, sensitive, acne-prone skin! 1. *Not pictured* If I wore makeup that day (very rare) or used multiple layers of sunscreen, I use the DHC - Deep Cleansing Oil to double cleanse my skin. Double cleansing provides a deeper clean on days that I need it! ($28 for 6.7oz at Dermstore) 2. VANICREAM - Gentle Facial Cleanser : I recently made the switch from CeraVe hydrating cleanser, and I am absolutely loving it! It’s still gentle, but it provides an amazing deep clean! It foams up really well. My skin is so soft and clean after using it. It’s the perfect first step for my routine. I use one pump with my Innerneed silicone face scrubber. ($8.99 for 8oz at Target.) 3. HADALABO - Gokujyun Premium Lotion : This hyaluronic acid solution contains 5 different molecular weights of hyaluronic acid to penetrate deeply into the skin. It has a gel-like texture. I apply a small amount on damp skin. It leaves my skin feeling plump, hydrated, and glowing. ($15.89 for 8oz on Amazon.) 4. CeraVe - CeraVe Moisturising Cream : This is the moisturizer that I keep coming back to. I have yet to find one that I like better! It’s very thick and moisturizing. It absorbs best when I apply it while my skin is still damp from the hyaluronic acid lotion. It provides a matte finish and keeps my skin soft & hydrated throughout the day! ($9.99 for 8oz at Target.) 5. Tretinoin 0.1% or PAULA'S CHOICE - 10% Azelaic Acid Booster : I alternate these products every other night. The Tretinoin is my holy grail product! It was prescribed by my dermatologist for my acne. If you are interested to learn more about Tretinoin, check out my posts “My Tretinoin Journey” and “Derm Prescribed Acne Treatments”. ($10 with insurance) Azelaic acid was also prescribed by my dermatologist to help fade my post-inflammatory erythema (PIE), which is basically post-acne red marks. I already had this product at home, so I’m finishing it up before switching to prescription strength. ($36 for 1oz from Paula’s Choice) Both of these products have helped me so much. My skin is getting clearer and clearer each day!

Top 2020 Products
2020 was the year I officially got into skincare. These three skincare products that dramatically changed my skin for the better, and for that, I rate them my best products for 2020. 1. HADALABO - Gokujyun Premium Lotion : This milky essence contains 5 kinds of HA of different molecular weights along with nourishing algae extracts. The results? Incredibly plump, soft skin. Not only is this essence great for harsh winters that compromise the barrier, but it’s great for summer when skin dehydrated and producing more oil than usual. You can’t beat the price at 15.99!! 2. THE inkey LIST - Kaolin Clay Mask : A kaolin mask that effectively absorbs excess oil AND has nourishing plant extracts so it doesn’t dry out your skin. For only 6.99!! 3. DRUNK ELEPHANT - T.L.C. Framboos Glycolic Resurfacing Night Serum : It’s no secret that I am a huge Drunk Elephant fan. Yet out of all of their products, this is the one that to me is worth the hefty price tag of $90 for an ounce. This gel-based serum is a chemical exfoliator that contains 12% AHA and 2% BHA. It’s incredibly gentle yet super powerful as it zaps dry spots, uneven texture, whiteheads, blackheads, and major breakouts. It is the perfect spot treatment for any breakout. The immediate second I experience a breakout, I put this on and the next day my breakout is either completely done or dramatically reduced in size. While I would like to try cheaper exfoliators, this one is golden for me. What are your top 2020 products? My worst products of 2020 coming tomorrow!!

Help!
I have been trying to figure out the best way to take control of my skincare routine. My main concern is the texture of my skin, redness, blackheads on my nose, & large pores on my cheeks. I believe I have combination skin. It can’t often get oily or dry. I’d like any advice having to do with Cerave or The Ordinary. I currently am cleansing my face each morning & night with CeraVe - Hydrating Facial Cleanser I like this cleanser, but am wondering if I should try out some other Cerave facial cleansers for my skin. In the morning I use CeraVe - AM Facial Moisturizing Lotion SPF 30 In the evening I moisturize with CeraVe - PM Facial Moisturizing Lotion Occasionally, I use the The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution but I don’t think I have used it consistently enough & often enough to tell a difference. I’ve read that this is good for blackheads on your nose & to use it two nights a week. I have also used The Ordinary - Salicylic Acid 2% Masque but haven’t used it enough to notice a difference. I’d like to look into trying a few more products to help rejuvenate my skin & give my skin care routine a “facelift” 😉 Any advice or opinions would be wonderful. Thank you! Products I’d like to try include: CeraVe - Resurfacing Retinol Serum I would like to introduce a retinol into my routine. CeraVe - Eye Repair Cream I often get dry under eyes, eye lids, & puffiness. The Ordinary - Lactic Acid 10% + HA I read this was good for textured skin & blackheads. The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% Thank you in advance! ✨

Eczema flair ups
So after being home for what seems like forever, i’ve suddenly had a flair up of my eczema. It started off on my eyelids for a few months, then with quarantine, it started spreading in my left cheeks, my forehead was extremely dry and cracked, then all over my face. I used to not be sensitive with my acne skincare products, but the more my eczema got worst, the more sensitive my skin would get. Even a splash of water would irritate my skin. I stopped doing my regular skin care routine for a while, it was not doing me good with a compromised skin barrier (which is what eczema is). So this is what has been working for me, after trial and error, these two products together helped clear up my patches, and decrease my redness. Still a little flakey, but not as flakey as it was initially. I start off by cleansing my skin with CeraVe - Hydrating Facial Cleanser it’s the only gentle cleanser i have. It still irritates my skin a little sadly, but i try to cleanse less, so usually PM only. And I would rinse my face with just water in the AM. Don’t feel the need that i should spend on another cleanser, since it’s hopefully just temporary until my skin barrier gets stronger. - then i would slather CeraVe - CeraVe Moisturising Cream all over my face on damped skin, avoiding my eye area. Its so thick and perfect for my extremely dry skin. Its so soothing and the ingredients are the best. It’s very hydrating, but just not thick enough for my eczema prone skin. Which is why i follow up with a thin layer of Aquaphor - Aquaphor Healing Ointment prior to doing this, i would wake up with flakey dry skin in the morning, as if all the hydration has disappeared during my sleep. But this ointment helps lock in the cream and keeps my skin hydrated until the morning. Its great for everything tbh. I would also put this on my eyelids since i have redness there as well. (Side note: i’ve been using this for my cracked lips for years, it’s the absolute best for drugstore lip balm). But if you have those bad days where your lips gets extremely dry to the point that you don’t know what to do anymore and your regular lip balm that you’ve used for a lifetime does not work, i would recommend #La Roche-Posay - Cicaplast levres[products]#[FiveStars] you wake up the next day as if nothing has happened, you get completely healed lips. I swear by it!!! It’s very thick, with a mat finish, it’s nothing like other lip balms ive used before. It also contains great ingredients such as panthenol which is great for repairing. The less is better for eczema prone skin, and i hope these two holy grail products of mine works for you too. You really need patience, and so far i am loving the results. My patches has gone away and my redness is slowly calming down. I thought i would need a whole new routine but i will stick to this for now.

CeraVe - Moisturizing Cream For Normal To Dry Skin The rest of my face is fairly clear and i’m only struggling with forehead acne. I also haven’t explored many products in fear of a reaction. Thanks 😊😊

Empties + mini reviews
✨Empties✨ The Ordinary Ascorbic Acid 8% + Alpha Arbutin 2%. A holy grail for me. This has definitely made a big difference in the brightness and evenness of my skin. It is oil and water free. The low percentage of Vitamin C isn’t too strong for my skin to tolerate. I have already replaced this and am on my third bottle. ✅ Definitely Repurchase. CeraVe Hydrating Facial Cleanser is definitely a oldie but goodie. I do enjoy using this as a morning cleanse, however I never felt like it was quite enough to cleanse the day off in a P.M. routine. I like to use it in P.M. if I’m having a eczema flare or reaction, otherwise I stick to use in the A.M. If you saw my La Roche Posay Vs. CeraVe post, you’ll know my current stance on this product. ✅ Would repurchase (and have many times.) CeraVe Moisturizing Cream. I Can’t live without. My dry skin LOVES this moisturizer as my final step in my evening routine. It is thick, occlusive, and reparative. Probably not the best choice for oily skin or day time use.. but I will never go without it. $12 for this bottle that lasts MONTHS. Currently on my 100th bottle (estimated😜). ✅ Definitely repurchase. Purito Centella Green Level Unscented Sun. Despite the current controversy, I will still give this product a good review. It is comfortable, moisturizing, and beautiful on the skin. As far as protection... well you know, we will see what happens. 🤞🏼 ✅ Would repurchase (assuming we aren’t being outright deceived.) Sending hugs to you all.🌻 The Ordinary - Ascorbic Acid 8% + Alpha Arbutin 2% CeraVe - Hydrating Facial Cleanser CeraVe - Moisturizing Cream For Normal To Dry Skin PURITO - Centella Green Level Unscented Sun SPF50+

Review: the beet shield
People have been raving about this product, so I decided to give it a try!! What is the best shield? Well, on the krave beauty website it says the beet shield is a lightweight, soothing day fluid that protects skin from environmental aggressors. Whether it’s sun damage or harmful irritants, The Beet Shield keep pollutants to keep you from getting beet-red. You’re supposed to use this as the last step in your AM skincare routine. My review: This product is great! Before this I was using the CeraVe - AM Facial Moisturizing Lotion SPF 30 which would ball up on my face in small white chunks. My makeup underneath looked awful and it was because of this SPF. Having the beet shield underneath was a game changer for me. This product not only leaves your skin looking dewy and fresh, but my makeup underneath was so smooth. This product does not look like a normal sunscreen. It comes out in a pale color and goes on almost invisible. It’s a very unique formula! I really love this product and I recommend giving it a go! Krave - The Beet Shield

Krave - The Beet Shield Everyday, your skin is bombarded with environmental aggressors and can have a hard time fighting them off on its own. Time to call in The Beet Shield. Think of it as your own personal secret service; it will keep you protected from all sides and around the clock (no cool nickname included). It’s also loaded with beetroot extract to add antioxidants and reduce pigmentation from sunburn’s past. However, unlike other daytime fluids, The Beet Shield doesn’t irritate skin or leave a white cast you’ll avoid looking like you’re doing candy cane cosplay. I really love this gem .I Definitely Recommend and it worth the price!! Have u tried any krave products? Tell me ur experience. XoxO

Accutane skin care suggestions?
Accutane skin care suggestions?
Hello community! I’m currently in my 2nd week of my second cycle of Accutane. My skin got pretty bad with all this mask wearing (thanks covid). Since staring Accutane my skin has gotten SUUUUUUPER sensitive and dry. I don’t remember having this bad of a skin sensitivity during my first cycle 5 years ago. I am a nurse so at the end of my 12 hours shift my pimples get dry and irritated, especially in the jaw/chin where my mask rubs against. My current skincare routine products are DHC - Deep Cleansing Oil CeraVe - Foaming Facial Cleanser For Normal To Oily Skin CeraVe - Daily Moisturizing Lotion For Normal To Dry Skin LA ROCHE-POSAY - Anthelios Body and Face Gentle-Lotion Mineral Sunscreen SPF 50 And I reincorporated The Ordinary - "B" Oil to try and lock in more moisture. The skin sensitivity is what’s seriously bothering my. My skin constantly feels itchy and burns. I would GREATLY appreciate product recommendations to help make this more tolerable. Much appreciated!

Week 2 of Tretinoin and Spirinolactone Journey
Week 2 of Tretinoin and Spirinolactone Journey
This is the end of my second week on Spirinolactone (pills for hormonal acne that I take 1x a day) and Tretinoin. The first half is a repeat of last week’s post except for a cleanser switchout. All other new info will be profit below my posted routine. I purchased both treatments from Apostrophe, so they have been prescribed by a dermatologist. My Apostrophe cream formula is 0.025% and 4% Niacinimide. I’ve simplified my routine to only include a gentle cleanser, moisturizer, the tret cream, and a sunscreen. I have normal skin. I’m looking to add more products in as I adjust to treatment. My routine is as follows: AM CeraVe - Hydrating Face Cleanser For Normal To Dry Skin CeraVe - Daily Moisturizing Lotion For Normal To Dry Skin Aveeno - Ultra-Calming Daily Moisturizer SPF 30 PM CeraVe - Hydrating Face Cleanser For Normal To Dry Skin CeraVe - Daily Moisturizing Lotion For Normal To Dry Skin Apostrophe formula (using this after moisturizer so I can have a buffer between the tret and my skin) I changed cleansers because I’ve heard of some people having bad experiences with Cetaphil. Though this hasn’t been the car for me, I already had the Cerave cleanser in my house and thought it would be best to have a matching cleanser and moisturizer. I started using the Cerave moisturizer before The Aveeno moisturizer with sunscreen because I felt my skin has been drier lately. Ugh, I feel like my progress has been minimal so far. It’s even more discouraging when I’m looking at before and after pictures of people on tret for 2-3 months after and their skin is flawless. I’m worried if tret will get rid of my dark spots that fast. Dark spots are my main concern and have been something that bothered me the most. To bring me to reality, I read more and found out that many people have been using tret everyday, rather than working their way up to everyday usage. This might be why the results have been quicker for others. For one person, they posted a dramatic before and after pic though they have been using tret for only 3 weeks! Fortunately, I’ve seen that the amount of new acne has been reduced since I’ve tret. Since I’m all for numbers, I only had two new pimples this new week. The rest are healing or dark spots. I’ve been applying tret 3x a week. But I’m excited to move into using it every other day starting August 2nd and hopefully waiting for more dramatic progress. Using Spirinolactone, I’m realizing I need to drink way more water than I have before. I’ve been feeling a lot of fatigue and dizziness with the medication. However, the more water I’ve been drinking the less these symptoms have been occurring. I know I just have to be patient with my progress as everyone’s skin reacts differently to tret. Wishing everyone the best 🦋

Do you worry about acne after your workout
Do you worry about acne after your workout
Hey Everyone! So these are some products that helped me feel better after working out! So the first two products are really good for sensitive/dry skin. FIRST AID BEAUTY - Pure Skin Face Cleanser THE inkey LIST - Polyhydroxy Acid (PHA) Gentle Exfoliating Toner FIRST AID BEAUTY - Pure Skin Face Cleanser - I use this as a double cleanse in my nighttime routine, and a single cleanser after the gym. It cleans the dirt and sweat really well. THE inkey LIST - Polyhydroxy Acid (PHA) Gentle Exfoliating Toner - I then go in with this toner to get excess dirt off. SKYORGANICS - Vitamin E Oil - I finish up with Vitamin E oil because it’s light enough to last me until my night time shower. Now the next two products are for more acne prone skin PanOxyl - Acne Foaming Wash Benzoyl Peroxide 10% Maximum Strength - use this if you get back acne or just any acne after sweating. I bought it for my boyfriend who works out everyday so after the gym he will rinse off with this bad boy and everything is all good. THE inkey LIST - Salicylic Acid Acne + Pore Cleanser - this is the extra step to take to really make sure you get the excess dirt off. SKYORGANICS - Vitamin E Oil - Still follow up with a moisturizer because benzoyl peroxide can be very drying and you want to keep the good stuff in. Thank you if you have anything to add leave a comment below! Follow me as well to help me become more educated about all the different skin.

WANTED: New deep cleansing face wash!
WANTED: New deep cleansing face wash!
UPDATE: I since tried the Aveeno ultra calming cleanser and La Roche Posay hydrating cleanser and liked both, but ultimately fell in love with the Krave matcha hemp cleanser!! 😍 My skin type: Dry to Normal I used to use the 2 products on the left, they did the job as long as I was consistent with my routine. Recently I ran out of the face wash and wanted to switch up my routine, so browsed the Internet for other recommendations. The rosewater toner absolutely destroyed my skin and broke me out HORRIBLY, so I cut that out immediately. I continued using the Cerave hydrating cleanser and while my skin improved since I cut the Rosewater toner, I’m still having some breakouts. While it could be a number of things, I just don’t think this cleanser is working for me. What face wash have you used for Dry to Normal skin that you felt truly gave you a deep cleanse, after you’ve removed all makeup?? The one and only @youthtothepeople 🤪 First Impressions: 🌿 Superfood Antioxidant Cleanser: Having acne-prone is definitely a struggle, so many things make me break out... and I mean so many. I bought the mini size to try out first before I commit to the full size and I must say, so far so good. My skin feels clean after and it doesn’t dry me out like most cleansers I’ve used in the past and I love that. I haven’t noticed any new breakouts either. Full size purchase coming soon! 🌿 Superfood Air-Whip Moisture Cream I like this moisturizer a lot. It’s so lightweight and very hydrating. It does have a distinct smell, after all it does contain natural fragrance, but I don’t mind the smell at all. Once applied the smell disappears. Might have to purchase the full size.🤫 What is your favorite YTTP product for any of those with acne-prone skin?🤍YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Superfood Air-Whip Moisture Cream YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Superfood Antioxidant Cleanser

i love this face wash, it’s so underrated! if you have sensitive skin, dry skin, or use a prescription retinol this is a great option! the first ingredient is water & the second is glycerin so it’s super gentle but still leaves you feeling so clean :) there’s also a short list of ingredients (free of all the irritating stuff it says on the bottle) it really helped my dryness/redness (i use a prescription retinol 3x/week) it’s also only $10.99 at CVS. stop paying for expensive packaging 🤯VANICREAM - Gentle Facial Cleanser
