Quarantine hobby: Nail stamping 💅🏾
I spent the first three months of quarantine staying with friends so I wouldn’t go stir crazy from isolation. During that time, one of my friends introduced me to nail-stamping and I was hooked. Before this, it had been years since I’d painted my nails because I hated using nail polish remover. (I am more of a let the polish chip away person.) Soon enough, I got the Maniology - Forever Young: Nail Stamping Starter Kit Plates, Polishes, Scraper, & Stamper
100 percent acetone or bust: Use 100 percent acetone to clean your plates properly. Regular nail polish remover has oils that will prevent your polish from settling in the groves, which will result in the stamped not picking up the images.
Not all polish is created equal: There are specific polishes that are meant for stamping. Stamping polishes tend to have opacity in the first stamp. You can use stamping polishes for your base color, but you might not be able to use regular polish to stamp. It can be a trial-and-error process. Favorite stamping polishes: Maniology, Painted Polish and Pueen.
A clean plate is a happy plate: Be sure to clean the image on the plate your are stamping after each use. You can’t layer polish over dried polish that is trapped in the wells.
Lint roller or tape: To get your stamper clean after each stamp swipe the stamper face over the sticky side of the tape or roller. It will pull any remaining polish or lint from it.
Can see clearly now: I love the clear ice cube stampers from Maniology because you can see through to the nail to see where you are placing the imagine.
THE CLAW: To combat damage, I got cotton claws so I wouldn’t have to hold the acetone-soaked cotton round while cleaning a plate.
POBC: Peel-off base coats are your friends. I use them when I know I am going to want to do more than one set in a certain time. Favorite one: Unt’s POBC is the one I used. What are some of the hobbies you’ve picked up during quarantine?

Easy Halloween/Fall Nails 💅🏻
I love this color combination for fall or Halloween. The burnt Orange glitter color is by China Glaze and called Payback’s A Witch. The Black color is by OPI and is called Black Onyx. It took 2 coats of each polish to achieve full coverage. Since neither polish is gel, I used a Gel Top coat by Sally Hansen to achieve the longest lasting look possible. I got both of these at CVS for $9.99 each OPI - OPI Nail Lacquer china glaze - china glaze Nail Lacquer
When did OPI become so lame????
When I was growing up and would go near a place that gave many and peddles, they used OPI products. I tended to avoid it because it is more expensive. But I really wanted some olive green nail polish because I wear that color a lot and decided to buy this. First, this color is not blue; it appears in the photo. Its a dark, iridescent teal green. Still pretty, but not at all the light blue as depicted. But its a pretty color. The purple one is nice, too. However!! 2 coats flaked off after less than a day!! I don't know if it's because it was baking in a warehouse for too long or the actual polish isn't made well. I have never been so disappointed in nail polish before. After three coats of barely-there coverage, it finally started to look like my nails were painted. I put on a topcoat, as I always do, and one day later, the polish had already started chipping. I applied a few more coats, and again, one day later, chipping and wear on the tips. And the polish was not of quality whatsoever. I thought OPI was a high-quality nail polish. This was not. I purchased the third color with the same problem—the polish streaks. There was no smooth application period. What I did get on my nails looked terrible. It was blotchy & I removed it. I was disappointed in light of what I paid. I don't recommend OPI & will not purchase their brand again. I think I'll stick with my much cheaper and more reliable Sally Hansen Miracle Gel or Insta Dry from now on. Just goes to show you that price does not always mean better quality. I will not buy any product from OPI anymore.
Coolest French manicure🔹Liquid glass nail polish meets Klein blue
I love blue because it's the color of the ocean and the sky. It has tremendous power to make me feel calm, quiet, reflective, and strong. 💙 International Klein Blue (IKB) is a deep blue hue first mixed by the French artist Yves Klein. As someone who is always obsessed with blue and French art, I announce that the color of this summer is Klein blue! But it seems too monotonous that only one color on my fingernail, so I choose another bold color, silver, to curate a French art exhibition on my finger! Products used: Klein blue nail polish from Chanel Liquid glass nail polish from OPI Hope you would love my "artwork"!💙

Another abstract Manicure
I just got a ton of floss gloss polish and wanted to play with multiple colors! I have a really good command of the brush when doing these kind of abstract shapes, so don’t be surprised if I do a variation of this nail look ALL SUMMER! Impressions of FLOSS GLOSS - Grapefruit Duo colors are so cute; the brand has an amazing range of trendy and unique colors application is somewhat chunky. The brush seems a bit outdated to me formula is super clean, but the smell is still strong dries pretty fast, but not as fast as other polishes in the market after second coat, polish looks a lot less chunky I don’t mind the cons of this polish, like the application, because the colors are so cute and the formula is clean. Let’s see how this lets after 7 days!

Press-on Nails! Are they worth it?
💅 Visiting the nail salon seems like a far dream for me right now as I try to shun hair and nail salons for as long as I can. Besides, I want to try more DIY beauty processes for myself as I have more time at home anyway. My nails have been bare for almost six months now and I thought that I will give them a fresh look and pop of color. My choice of nail product is imPRESS Press-on Manicure in So Unexpected. I thought of using a nail polish or gel nail polish but I wasn’t willing to invest in more tools, plus, this is my first time using press on products. My nails are naturally squarish oval in shape and these press on nails look similarly close enough in terms of shape and size. No more garishly long and fake looking acrylic nails as what we’re known! The style I picked is also trendy featuring a solid deep mauve color with accent nails in a silver metallic geometric shape for a hint of style and fun. There are lots of other styles to choose from for variety. To apply, first clean natural nail with prep pad that is provided in the package. Align tab side with cuticle and press on firmly. With its ULTRA-FIT Design and patented SuperHold adhesive, the fake nails are relatively slimmer and also allow nails to say put and stay perfect. No glue is needed, so the nails are relatively safe on natural nails and easy to remove. For $5.99, each set contains 30 nails including 6 accent nails, prep pad, file and a wood stick. They generally last for about a week and here’s a tip to make them last longer – avoid water! When doing dishes or in the shower, wear rubber gloves (which you can reuse) so that nails stay dry. When applying, push back your cuticles and cleanse your nail bed of oils before applying them. Also, ensure that the fit is right. The nails should be slightly smaller than bigger as they will bend when you press them down. Make sure that the fake nails are completely on your nail bed and not touching any skin or hanging off. the nail salon seems like a far dream f

y’all asked- full how-to for my rose nails! 🌹🌹
hey y’all! a while ago I posted a video of my rose nails but didn’t attach a tutorial... well, ask and you shall receive! read on for the full tutorial! 🌹step one- start with your base color! •for this manicure, I chose a nude color close to my skin tone; however, you could choose any color that would compliment the color of the roses. •start painting your nails with the color of your choosing. the brush should start just above your cuticle. push the brush towards your cuticle, then pull back across the rest of the nail. repeat this process to cover the sides of the nail. 🌹step two- paint the roses •for the roses, I used two shades of red, one darker than the other. •start with your lighter shade. paint slightly irregular circles on your nails in varying sizes- you want the circles to have a bit of a wavy edge to mimic petals. •once the first color has dried completely, outline the roses in the darker color, and make little half circles inside the roses to look like petals. 🌹step three- add some leaves •i used two shades of green for the leaves. •start by painting little leaf shapes in the empty spaces around the roses. •once the first color has dried completely, outline your leaves in a darker shade of green. 🌹lastly- some finishing touches! •use some acetone to clean up your fingers and finish with a glossy top coat. enjoy! happy painting! xoxo abra
The story of shell and diamond🐚💍
The story of shell and diamonds was inspired by the ocean. This is the name I gave to my nails. 🥰 The design of the nails reminded me of my childhood. I always play in the beach with young friends. Though I made this style in nail salon, the pattern is designed by me. The highlight is the shells, which have been polished under the seal glue. Many people thought they were silver paper, actually they were real shells. 🐚 Shell design is very time consuming. Putting real shells on your nails and then polish them one layer by one layer. Because shells are relatively thick, this kind of gel nails is thicker than ordinary gel nails. Rhombic diamonds and shells are so shine under the sun. However, I will never try them again… It's too painful to take off the diamond and shells. Thick shell nails and diamonds sealed with too much glue can break me down. One time pretty is enough :)
Essie - Honest Nail Polish Review 🦋
Hello lovies! I am back with another nail polish review because I want to share with y’all my honest feedback on this essie - Enamel Nail Polish ! Let’s begin with the fact that the first time I came across this specific shade was YEARS ago! I have a spot in my town with a massive Essie collection and this color spoke to me. I ended up moving two years ago and misplaced tons of my nail polish collection 😕. Then, last year I had my grad school graduation where my department color was teal! So I bought Bikini So Teeny (review done as well) and it was fantastic, which then lead me to buy another Essie color... Mint Candy Apple! It’s been a year since I’ve had this baby in my collection and it’s still going strong! This Essie product retails for $8.99. Its a light pea minty green shade that would look fantastic on all skin tones 👏🏼! The texture of the color is light but very easy to build up to get a full coverage nail. I usually do 2-3 coats of nail polish before applying a top coat. I’ve never had a problem with an Essie brand nail polish brush and that makes for a nice smooth application 💅🏼. The amazing thing about Essie is that they have such a vast collection of various shades. You’ll find the shade you want - I can guarantee that for sure! I think it’s super easy to apply because the nail polish consistency isn’t too watery and it gives you the perfect consistency from bottle to nail. I’ve come across nail polished that are so watery they fall off the brush before I make it to my nail. It’s definitely not a sheer color and the color pay off is 100% amazing. It also has a shiny glossy finish to it where you could leave it just like that or use a top coat for extra shine. The brush is perfect in that additionally it does not leave streaks on the nail. When I apply a top coat on all 10 fingers, I go back and apply a second coat. I wait 10 mins and apply a third coat for extra coverage! And then 15 mins after that I apply a clear shiny top coat! I’m usually not in a hurry so I take my time to let them dry and haven’t done those neat ice cold water tricks! When I do my nails I watch an hour long show on my iPad and by the time the show is done so are my nails 👏🏼. Essie claims that this is a chip resistant formula and for the most part like 90% I agree with that statement. I usually find one or two nails with chips on them but it’s also the fingers I use for opening mail, picking off stickers, etc so I don’t blame the nail polish - it’s me hahaha! When I apply the nail polish I say it can last from 7-10 days before I see it looking off and no longer perfect! Since I am home now all the time I find myself constantly changing my nail color after 10 days and this shade is among my top three nail polish colors! This is a top notch nail polish color and I 100% recommend it to all of my friends and family! 👍🏼
