The brown and gold mani I’m bringing into 2021
BASE COAT OPI - Nail Envy Original : I used one coat of this on each nail as a base coat. BROWN POLISH I have been searching for the perfect brown nail polish and while I almost bought one from Essie’s Expressie line, I decided to get a $15, four-piece Zoya set from Amazon instead. (Zoya polishes usually cost $10 each. On the Zoya website, the same quad costs $30.) The “Tis The Season” quad had two cream polishes and two shimmers. The brown polish is called “Debbie” and is a plum brown. On the thumbs and the pinkies, I used the Zoya polish “Tasha,” which is described as a “sensual brunette brown metallic.” It is perfect. Zoya polishes has Big-10 free breathable formula free of: • Formaldehyde • Formaldehyde Resin • Dibutl • Toluene • Camphor • TPHP • Parabens • Xylene • Ethyl • Tosylamide • Lead GOLD POLISH AND NAIL STAMPING PLATE For the gold design, I went with Maniology’s Gold Rush polish, a metallic champagne gold, and the MxM041 plate. Maniology is 5-free and doesn’t use: • Formaldehyde • Formaldehyde Resin • Dibutl Phthalate • Toluene • Camphor TOP COAT To seal in all of my work, I chose an old reliable, the Sally Hansen - Big Kwik Dry Top Coat . It doesn’t smudge the stamp, dries quickly is leaves a glossy smooth surface. I did this mani Saturday and the first picture was taken on Wednesday. As of New Year’s Eve, there hasn’t been a chip. LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU THINK.

DON’T SLEEP ON THE SEPHORA SAMPLER SETS
Christmas almost here, which means Sephora has been dropping their holiday gift sets to get all us in the mood for a while now. And, boy, am I in the mood. My favorite sets — beside skin care — are the perfume ones. (The makeup ones tend to be terrible for people at my end of the shade spectrum.) If you are struggling to give a gift, then consider giving a perfume. The person will remember you whenever they spray it. There are several types of Sephora perfume sets: • brand specific sets • Sephora Favorites with voucher for a “full-size travel spray or rollerball” at no extra cost • Sephora Favorites with voucher for a “full-size perfume” at no extra cost NOTE: Each voucher only pertains to a perfume IN the box you have. Some of my Sephora perfume sampler favorites: • Mini Holiday Perfume Set: 6 mini samples. Voucher for full-size travel spray and rollerball. $25. • Mini Favorites Perfume Sampler: 6 mini samples. Voucher for full-size travel spray and rollerball. $25. • Perfume Travel Sampler Set: 5 mini samples. Voucher for full-size travel spray and rollerball. $25. • Holiday Perfume Sampler Set: 13 mini samples. Voucher for full-size bottle. $68. • Newness Perfume Sampler Set: 7 mini samples. Voucher for full-size bottle. $68. • Men’s Cologne Sampler Set: 9 mini samples. Voucher for full-size bottle. $68. • Mini Deluxe Perfume Sampler Set: 8 deluxe samples. Voucher for full-size bottle. $75.** • Scent the Look Mini Perfume Sampler Set: 5 deluxe samples plus SEPHORA COLLECTION - Cream Lip Stain Liquid Lipstick. Voucher for full-size bottle. $75. (This is the set I have been waiting for. Daisy Eau So Fresh is the perfume I have waiting to be in a set.) What set would you have your eye on? **the one I purchased. (The perfume I redeemed it for was the 2.5 fl. oz. MARC JACOBS BEAUTY - Daisy Eau So Fresh Eau de Toilette .)

Indie BOMB spotlight: Range Beauty
I have oily, combination skin. I have spent my life doing the calculated chin raise whenever I hug someone so I won’t have the embarrassing moment of realizing I have also left part of my foundation as a sign of affection. Transfer-proof foundation seemed like a myth. Think the tube system in the Jetsons. Enter Range Beauty. The brainchild of Alicia Elaine, who has eczema. She searched for a foundation that would work for her skin and since she didn’t find one, she formulated one herself. QUEEN. The liquid foundation is perfect for not only people with eczema, but for people with acne. Something else great about RB — besides the great shade range — is their sample program. They will allow you to get sample of up to four of the 21 RANGE BEAUTY - Coconut Milk Foundation for $2. If you find a foundation match, then you can enjoy a $5 discount from the originally $21 foundation. ($16 is definitely better than $21.) SHIPPING EXPERIENCE 📦 I placed my order on a Thursday, the label was made the following Monday and I received it 7 days after that. They are an indie brand and they said it would take longer since we are in a pandemic. SAMPLE CONTAINERS I do wish the samples were in smaller vials and not the screw-top containers. WHICH SHADE DO YOU THINK WILL MATCH ME? UP NEXT: SWATCH TEST and WEAR TEST

5 things I’ll leave to the pros—NMW YouTube says
Quarantine has highlighted how creative people are. Oops. By creative, I meant crazy. Crazy and willing to risk it all. Part of me wants to blame these companies selling professional grade products to spontaneous consumers to just get their money. But people are really diving into the DIY attitude that was spawned by this pandemic. It is a little inspiring, but people are taking it a little far. So here are 5 things I would never attempt to do by myself: 1. CHEMICAL PEELS I never thought that I would watch videos of people doing professional-level chemicals in the comfort of their own homes. Like, what? 🤯😳🤦🏾♀️ This is so dangerous and can compromise the overall health of your skin — especially, if you don’t follow up with the necessary aftercare. If I am going to do a procedure that I know will require downtime and result in my skin peeling off, then I am going to a licensed person. Call me crazy. 2. MICROBLADING I USED TO WATCH SO MANY OF THESE VIDEOS. They would go in start microblading and say it didn’t hurt as much as they thought. (Numbing cream was usually applied.) A lot of the time, it would look good. Then it would go through the normal healing and peeling and there would NOTHING of substance left behind because they hadn’t deposited the color deep enough. A lot of time and money wasted just to do nothing, but maybe damage your skin. 3. ACRYLIC/GEL NAILS Acrylic and gel nails can be messed up by people who are licensed and have been doing them for years so I am not going to do them by myself. The soak-off process? Not for me. Buffing & scuffing? Hard pass. The use of UV lamps also freak me out. How will it impact your health overtime? 🤷🏾♀️ Most of my friends who regularly get acrylic/gel nails say that their nails are weak from the process and they had to stop for periods of time. One of my friends who had to stop said she could feel her nails throbbing and how thin her natural nail actually was. 4. LASH PERMS This is one that made me light a candle and say a prayer. One thing that freaks me out is when people out their eyesight in jeopardy. For what? For why? For how come? I am a horror movie connoisseur. I can watch a lot of the gory scenes but when anything goes near the eyes or mouth, I have to go somewhere else. So seeing people just take a crack at lash perming on themselves while not being able to keep the eye completely shut BOTHERS me. 5. DERMAROLLING/MICRODERMABRASION Along the same vein as chemical peels, this just seems too dangerous to me. And seeing videos of professionals reacting to the DIY videos just drives that point home. People tend to go back and forth and not in the recommended same direction. They also stay in one spot to much. I should have said this during my chemical peel reasoning, but being of a darker skin tone, the risk of hyperpigmentation is just too big for me. Honorable mentions: Lash extensions, dermablading, hair bleaching and dyeing. Do you do any of things I listed?
REPOSTING: Manicure in 45 minutes.
(Originally uploaded on Aug. 15, 2020. I am posting because the video isn’t working anymore.) One of the hobbies I picked up during quarantine is doing my nails. While staying with friends for the first three months we all got into nail-stamping since we needed something to keep our minds off of not leaving the house — sans the occasional walk and grocery store run. For about 5 years (I am not joking), a polish had not touched my nail. Why? 1. I am the type of person who would rather to let the nail polish chip off than use nail polish remover. 2. I have worked from home for 3 of those 5 years and thought my painted nails were meant to be seen and admired by other people. 3. I would always be struck with the need to paint my nails at time. And if there is something I hate more than having to use remover, it is having to want for the nail polish to dry. What was used: • #Pink Armour - Pink Armour Nail Gel[products]#[FiveStars] : One of my favorite standalone polishes. It gives a light pink tint. Great as a base coat. It also promotes nail growth. • #OPI - Worth a Pretty Penne[products]#[FiveStars] • #Maniology - Essentials Primary Collection: Bam! White Stamping Polish[products]#[FourStars] • Sally Hansen - Big Kwik Dry Top Coat I loved choosing how to put the stars on my nails. #CheriePartner

I hate the cold, but love this mani 🥶💅🏾❄️
I ordered a few nail stamping plates from AliExpress and they are slowly trickling in. And my Nicole Diary snowflake plate arrived at just the right time. Texas went from 90 degrees to 40 overnight and I am suffering ... and inspired. I grabbed the snowflake plate and got to work. I was able to play with stamp layering and colors. WHAT YOU NEED • Silver polish as the base color: #OPI - Ornament To Be Together[products]#[FourStars] (I did one coat because two made it harder to see some of the stamped colors.) • Dark blue stamping: Maniology’s Winter Kiss • White stamping polish:Maniology - Black & White Duo Bam! White + Straight Up Black Nail Stamping Lacquers • Black stamping polish: #Pueen - Black Jack[products]#[FiveStars] • Glittery topper: ILNP BOUTIQUE COSMETICS - Compass in Imagine That. Is this slowly becoming a nail account? Nope. I have a lot of other things lined up. Stay tuned!

Truly beginner🙌🏿 Invisible lace wig install with 8 steps
Dealing with my messy natural hair after waking up can take me ages until I cracked the code and found an easy way to have a gorgeous hairstyle effortlessly: Applying a lace wig! I love lace wigs as they look quite natural and comfortable to wear. Here is my easiest eight-step tutorial to apply a lace wig without glues: ✨Step 1: Cornrow the hair. I want to get my natural hair as flat as possible before applying my wig, so I usually cornrow my hair in the very beginning. ✨Step 2: Cut little pieces of the extra lace around the hairline for a more natural look. I love lace wigs the most because lace is so delicate and perfect for wearing that I can part anywhere I want. ✨Step 3: Put on my wig cap, then push a little back to expose about 1 inch of my natural scalp. ✨Step 4: Gently apply the wig, and match the wig part to my part. ✨Step 5: Comb the front hair and apply some mouses like ALTERNA - Caviar Anti-Aging Clinical Densifying Styling Mousseto the hair for a better shape. ✨Step 6: Secure the clips and strap to make the wig fit my head well. ✨Step 7: Spray some hair spray such as OUAI - OUAI Volume Spray to make the root lift. Then apply a scarf and tie it down for about 10 mins to make sure that the wig set in steadily. ✨Step 8: Put my lightweight and full coverage foundation to the parting line, followed by rubbing it with the comb's tail. After that, Dab some dark eyeshadows to the knot, making the gap between my natural hairline and the wig undetectable. I recommend FENTY BEAUTY - Pro Filt'r Soft Matte Longwear Foundation for foundation and NATASHA DENONA - Blackest Black Eyeshadow Matte for eyeshadow. If you guys find my tutorial helpful, please go ahead and show your love girls xx!
