HELP: STARTING A NEW ROUTINE?! 🤪
Hey all!! I’m newer to the skin scare space and looking for AM/PM routine suggestions. My skin is normal/combo and recently I’ve been having frequent dehydration which may be due to extra exercise in my daily routine. I’m looking for products to keep my skin CLEAN, HYDRATED, PROTECTED, PLUMP and GLOWY. I do have acne scars on my forehead, sides of my face, and chin. My most acne prone area is around my chin and it has been like this for the past few months- breakouts in that area every other day. I’ve been looking into the following products to help my skin: Cleanser: CeraVe - Hydrating Facial Cleanser Possible along with the CeraVe - Renewing SA Cleanser For Normal Skinfor my acne problem area hydration: PAULA'S CHOICE - Hyaluronic Acid Booster Or The Ordinary - Marine Hyaluronics Or DRUNK ELEPHANT - B-Hydra Intensive Hydration Serum For hydration Evening skin tone: PAULA'S CHOICE - 10% Niacinamide Boosterfor evening skin tone For additional serums/essences to make the skin appear more glowy/youthful I was thinking of trying: Krave - Great Barrier Relief Or TATCHA - Luminous Deep Hydration Firming Serum Exfoliation: PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliator Moisturizer: Open to suggestions. Heard good things about CeraVe and Youth to the People The products I’m using now are Okay but I would like to step it up and have clear glowy skin without needing to use makeup :) I appreciate any suggestions/tips from more experienced skin care lovers 💖💖

VeraRThose are great cleansers that will definitely help. If you use one in the morning and one at night that might work. Or just use water in the morning and one at night. For hydration, I wouldn’t recommend The Ordinary Marine Hyaluronic for you but instead the Hyaluronic Acid + B5. The Marine one is more for oily skin and you have normal to combo. Both the Paula’s Choice and Drunk Elephant ones have other ingredients that help more with acne + oil control while hydrating which is why they are more expensive. I would either choose The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid + B5 or Drunk Elephant B-Hydra Serum. Sometimes The Ordinary makes moisturizers pill and Drunk Elephant usually doesn’t cause pilling. I would definitely recommend the Niacinamide. I also recommend the Great Barrier Relief because it will help with redness and soothing your skin while rebuilding your barriers. That’s a great exfoliater but for your skin type and issue you don’t need to use it everyday. Maybe instead only 2-3 times a week. For moisturizer I recommend the Youth to the People SuperFood Air-Whip. Also make sure you’re putting on sunscreen in the day if you’re moisturizer doesn’t have SPF! I recommend Supergoop Unseen. Sry this was long and if u have any questions feel free to ask!

NevenaAndjeIkovicWow!! Thank you so much for your reply, I will definitely take your advice into consideration 🥰 I do have some questions though. For a product like a toner, if I were to use it in my routine, would I be able to apply B-Hydra after it? (I’ve heard that HA’s are good to apply when the skin is still wet and that wouldn’t really be the case after using a toner), or should I skip the toner in general (for now at least). Also, would you recommend using vitamin c? I’ve heard it’s amazing for dark spots and evening skin tone, but it seems like it does similar things to niacinamide.. for example the sskinceuticals vitamin c serum (I know it costs an arm and a leg but I’ve had it recommended to me) lastly, there are some serums out there with retinol. I’m 23 years old and was thinking of adding retinol into my routine in the future, would you recommend this? And yeah, there’s no way I can exfoliate that much!! 2 (sometimes 3) times per week really works for me, but I found a gentler exfoliator ; advanced soothing treatment 10% AHA by Paula’s choice that might be better. The cleansing advice is good though, I currently only cleanse at night and I don’t exfoliate that often (2-3x/week), so Maybe double cleansing at night and day and keeping the same exfoliation routine would help with the acne. 🙏🏼🙏🏼🥰🥰

Which Niacinamide would you choose?
This is definitely not a dupe situation. These two formulas are only similar in the fact that they contain the same amount of niacinamide (as well as some texture and preservative agents). I’ve been a longtime user of The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% and it does work, but I felt after my first bottle I wasn’t getting any continued results. I was also left unimpressed and looking for a different option due to the fact that this is a very tacky formula that can be difficult to work with. TO includes zinc in their formula which they state can reduce acne and can be anti-inflammatory. At $6 you’re getting your 2 active ingredients; niacinamide and zinc. PAULA'S CHOICE - 10% Niacinamide Booster includes the same 10% of niacinamide but doesn’t stop there. They also add vitamin C and a BUNCH of calming, hydrating and restoring products that your skin needs (see attached ingredient list). It’s been a controversy whether or not vitamin C and Niacinamide can be used together, even The Ordinary suggests that their Niacinamide not be used at the same time as vitamin C. Many brands and consumers have disagreed. Paula’s Choice adds the protective ingredients to ensure you’ll have less of a chance of irritation. Paula’s Choice serum is a lightweight watery formula that leaves no residue and I find easy to work into my routine. I wasn’t quite prepared for the thin formula as The Ordinary has more of a tacky texture. I found it best to add it directly from the dropper to my face, versus my hands then face. When it comes to the price difference it does seem that The Ordinary would be the obvious choice. I’m not one that believes that quality skincare has to cost more. But Paula’s Choice formula offers much more than Niacinamide. You’re getting several ingredients that are not found in The Ordinary, hence the price difference. Once I’ve emptied my bottle I’ll be better able to determine if spending 4x’s the amount is worth it. I could choose to use a less expensive option and add the antioxidants and other skin-replenishing ingredients found in Paula’s Choices formula, but I have to admit, I do like the simplicity of fewer steps in my skincare routine. 😉 There are also several other options available that I’ve not yet tried. I have tried The Inkey List and it is just a tad bit less tacky than The Ordinary. Other brand options I’d be open to try are: Good Molecules $6 - formula looks similar to TO and TIL with the only active ingredient being niacinamide Naturium $16 - 10% niacinamide and 2% zinc Good Molecules $14 - similar again to TO and TIL I LOVE how Paula’s Choice lists their ingredients. Behind each one you’ll find out how it benefits the skin. This saves me a TON of time and effort when doing my reviews! Individual reviews on The Ordinary and The Inkey List Niacinamide can be found on my page. What’s your favorite Niacinamide to use? ❤️🍒
FINALLY! It’s mine!
This is one brand I’ve been stalking and I’ve finally got my hands on the highly raved, much talked about PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliator I’d say what really draws me to this particular brand is its commitment to highly effective, well tested products. I feel they really listen to their customers and value their feedback. Well, imagine my surprise when in pops an email from a Paula’s Choice social media team member asking for my address to send me some products just for being me?!? I couldn’t respond fast enough with a...., “YES!” I’m not sure why I’ve been sleeping on this brand for so long. I follow so many diehard fans that swear and have visual proof of the changes their products have made. I have a feeling it’s all going to change after this... Just a little about PC if you haven’t heard of the brand (taken from the website) : Did you know that the founder, Paula was actually fired from her job working at a cosmetic counter for explaining to a customer what products could and couldn’t do for their skin? (This is what we need more of!! I was immediately drawn to the brand when I first heard about that!) Our Philosophy Science & Truth Highly Effective Formulary Excellence Non-irritating & Fragrance Free Multi-faceted Formulas Cruelty Free Packaged for Potency Environmentally Conscious On the website you can find Skincare Quizzes that can help you develop a Instant Routine or develop a more in-depth Routine at no cost! You can also find Expert Advice Articles on just about any subject you’re curious about. Have a question about ingredients? They have every ingredient known in the beauty industry—-a go-to resource for everyone! Everyone needs to use this! With Paula’s Choice you can choose individual skincare products or you can have an entire skincare routine developed from start to finish! I’ve had on my wishlist, along with the exfoliator I just received, their PAULA'S CHOICE - Resist C15 Super Booster PAULA'S CHOICE - 10% Azelaic Acid Booster PAULA'S CHOICE - 10% Niacinamide Booster PAULA'S CHOICE - Peptide Booster PAULA'S CHOICE - Anti-Aging Eye Gel Honestly, I want to try it all! I’d probably start swapping out some of the products I currently use for similar items. For instance, I am looking for a replacement vitamin c so I’d trade mine out for theirs. Then the Niacinamide and Hyaluronic and so on. I’m definitely going to do the skincare quiz and see what’s recommended for me! Do you use any Paula’s Choice products? What’s your favorite? Please share! 😘 I’ll be back in a few weeks to tell you what I think of this exfoliator! ❤️🍒

Drunk Elephant- The Littles 🐘
I won this cute little kit in a raffle & I couldn’t be more thankful! I have always wanted to try these products but never wanted to spend the money on all of them incase I didn’t like them! Inside this kit are the following products: DRUNK ELEPHANT - Beste No. 9 Jelly Cleanser Deluxe Sample DRUNK ELEPHANT - B-Hydra Intensive Hydration Serum DRUNK ELEPHANT - Protini Polypeptide Cream DRUNK ELEPHANT - C-Tango Multivitamin Eye Cream DRUNK ELEPHANT - T.L.C. Framboos Glycolic Resurfacing Night Serum DRUNK ELEPHANT - C-Firma Vitamin C Day Serum DRUNK ELEPHANT - Virgin Marula Luxury Facial Oil DRUNK ELEPHANT - Umbra Tinte Physical Daily Defense Broad Spectrum Sunscreen SPF 30 That’s literally a whole skincare routine! So far I started out my day with one of Drunk Elephants infamous “Face Smoothies” I washed my face with Beste No. 9 Jelly Cleanser & then combined C-Firma Day Serum, Virgin Marula Luxury Facial Oil, & Protini Polypeptide Cream together on my mixing trey with a disposable skincare spatula! I applied it all over my face & neck. Once that absorbed, I applied Umbra Tinte Daily Defense SPF 30 over my face & neck & was done! I love how the kit comes with steps to walk you through different routines you can use in the morning or at night! I will do a follow up review after I have used all the products for a few weeks! But so far, my skin feels & looks great! I have been breaking out lately & haven’t felt the best about my skin so I really needed this pick me up!! Thank you for reading! Products Getting Me Through Winter! ❄
Since I can remember I've had oily to combination skin, until this winter. It's been a rough one! My skin has been SO dry, and it's hard to keep up with it. Especially since I'm prone to acne and clogged pores, so I can't use a lot of heavy creams and pore clogging products. These I wouldn't be able to live without this winter! COSRX - Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence 🐌 I love this essence! This is a Korean product (Korean skin care will always be a hit). And it's made with Snail Mucin, weird right? This contains 96% snail mucin, which has incredible healing and antimicrobial properties. It promotes collagen production and aids in skin regeneration. And it's a top pick for dry skin types because of its amazing ability to hydrate. This has a jelly-like texture and I find myself ALWAYS reaching for this. Most of the claimed benefits do come with time. Another product I'm loving is the DRUNK ELEPHANT - B-Hydra Intensive Hydration Serum 💧This is a serum that came in a DE kit and I really want the full size! This seriously feels like a cold drink of water for your skin. It's lightweight and spreads nicely. It not only has Sodium Hyaluronate, (which is like hyarulonic Acid on steroids) but also Pineapple Ceramide and provitamin B5, an amazing humectant. As well as a lentil/apple/watermelon complex. It's not crazy different from other Hyarulonic Acid serums I've tried, but it's great! I finally got to try the cult favorite DRUNK ELEPHANT - Protini Polypeptide Cream . And wow I'm glad I did! This cream does have a few possible pore clogging ingredients so I was afraid to use it, but It's helped my dryness so much! It feels sooo moisturizing and soothing. I love that this is a protein moisturizer that has peptides, growth factors, amino acids, and pygmy waterlily to improve your overall skin health. This is an amazing anti-aging and skin strengthening moisturizer. I love using this it's a great experience. I already reviewed this incredible product, the Glossier. - Balm Dotcom 👄 It's become a staple lip balm for me. It's extremely hydrating and packed with antioxidants and natural emollients. It has Castor Oil, Beeswax, and Lanolin to seal in moisture. It leaves my lips looking sooo hydrated and smooth. It's THE perfect lip balm and I am obsessed. Feel free to comment or ask any questions below 💗
cream cleansers VS gel cleansers!
Okay so I think there’s definitely some debate between cream cleansers and gel cleansers and here’s my opinion: I believe that cream cleansers are a lot better than gel cleansers and are overall more beneficial for your skin! Additionally, if you have dry or sensitive skin cream cleansers are definitely up your ally! Personally I find that gel cleansers can dry out your face and can take away some of the essential oils that your face needs, whereas cream cleansers not only cleanse your face, but nourish and replenish your skin, giving it back the moisture and hydration it needs. Overall, cream cleansers have more benefits in comparison to gel cleansers however everyone’s skin reacts differently to certain formulas and products so obviously finding what works for you is very important! But if you are new to skin care and are a little confused on what’s good for your skin I do believe that cream cleansers are a safer option. Let me know what you guys want to see more of in the comments, share your thoughts or send in some products skin care or makeup related that you’d like me to try out!
I don’t recommend!!
NIVEA - Essentials 24h Moisture Boost + Matte Day Cream SPF15 I used this product a few months ago and my acne really started to take a turn. It was starting to be in deeper layers of my skin, cystic, my skin was also a lot more oily through out the day. I bought this product at a time where my skincare knowledge was not focused on ingredients. This product may or may not be the cause of my acne worsening, or maybe it’s just a case of bad timing. This product has alcohol denat way too high up the ingredients list, fourth to be exact. As I have previously mentioned alcohol denat can be very striping to the skin, which is how this cream was mattifying, despite the matte feeling at first as time goes on your skin will be so stripped it will need to produce even more oil to compensate. Alcohol denat is also very irritating and can also sometimes lead to breakouts. Overall a big no no in high concentration. Next on the Ingredients list after alcohol denat is cyclomethicone. A siloxane, another controversial ingredient in beauty products. Siloxanes do not break down so it is easy for them to contaminate the environment, and eventually reach us through our food (note that cyclomethicone May be an endocrine destruptor). Cyclomethicone is also a volatile silicon, so it evaporates into air, problem solved! WRONG, apparently it is toxic if inhaled. It is hard to know the truth with so much information on the internet. And though regulations of ingredients take the “not guilty, till proven” approach, I prefer to be safe than sorry. One of the reasons I bought this creme was the fact that it had SPF, but the sunscreen ingredients are also controversial ones, either environmental toxins, irritants or causing cellular damage. This product also has good ingredients (in much lower percentages), such as zinc oxide to help with acne and irritated skin (the percentage is probably so low it couldn’t be considered as a sunscreen ingredient). It also contains plant extracts. I personally believe you should do your own research and decide whether you’ll use a certain product or have a certain ingredient in your skincare. It is very confusing that we have to live in a world where we are worried if we are being slowly poisoned by what we use or eat, but that is the truth of it. I also can’t through this product out cause it may or may not be bad for the environment, I also can’t use it for the same reason and also the fact that it may or may not be bad for me. So I would NOT RECOMMEND this product to anyone, but the decision to buy this product and use it is in your hands, remember I’m no professional, just passionate.

Krave Beauty; My Review
Over I wasn’t very impressed. These products are pricey and although I appreciate their mission the products don’t speak for themselves. I tried everything for a little over a month so I could really see how their products work with my skin and over all I didn’t notice much difference besides an increase in acne along my chin line and more texture on my forehead. I did have one day during the month where my skin was flawless and I thought these products were amazing but it quickly faded. Krave - Kale-Lalu-yAHA I don’t hate this toner. I just did not notice a positive difference in my skin with it. Krave - Great Barrier Relief Good texture, a little oily but that goes away somewhat quickly Krave - The Beet Shield Best sunscreen I’ve tried so far. It does not leave a white cast and does not have a strong scent. It is on the oilier side but my skin tends to be dry so it works well for me. I included a picture of what it looks like on my hand before absorbing for reference. The main reason I only gave it 4 stars is the price for how much you get. It is a small container. I am going to continue to use this sunscreen until I run out and then will be looking for a cheaper option.
Shelfie vs Reality 🪞🤳🤔
Happy Presidents Day!! I was playing around trying to take my first ever shelfie and was struck by two things: 1) styling a shelfie is HARD!!! I am so impressed with the gorgeous, inspirational pictures you all take where a boring medicine cabinet seemingly effortlessly highlights all your best products. I think I have a ways to go. 2) this is soooooo not what my medicine cabinet looks like every day!! I took a step back once the cabinet was full of all my beautiful skincare and just laughed at how far it is from normal. Instead, all my goodies are hidden away in a cabinet. So I restored my shelves to their usual glory to avoid my husbands confusion about where on earth his toothbrush went and thought I’d share our reality. ➡️ swipe to see what the cabinet really looks like around here 🤪 Are there any products in here you want me to review? Asking for tips/suggestions!!!
The Ordinary - Retinol 1% in Squalane haven’t used it for a long period of time to give a review. But there are times i would apply this at night and my skin is feeling soft like a baby’s butt. The way i integrate this product in my routine, is that i would use this only as my active and the rest of my skincare is gentle and basic. Cerave hydratjng cleanser, kiehls calendula toner, then this serum, and finish it with a nourishing cream such as drunk elephant lalaretro whipped cream! I know retinol can be very drying which is why i used the moisturizer that has the most beneficial ingredients. I got myself two bottles thinking i would go through this quick, but i thought wrong. Which is why i started using it on my neck every day, i have some noticeable lines that i would like to get rid of. i would buff it with the cerave lotion, and apply a few drops on the palm of my hands and apply it on my neck and chest. I only use this once a week, ive learned it the hard way and used so much actives at once that my skin became hella sensitive. Any suggestions as to how i could benefit more to this serum? YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Kombucha + 11% AHA Exfoliation Power Tonerno ratings, because i haven’t used it yet! I ended up buying the smaller bottle of it, because for now i’m finishing up the drunk elephant aha/bha serum before i could try this product out. Please give me tips on how to use it, how i can incorporate it in my routine, should i just not have bought it at all? Lol 🆘
Sweeping in the fall season
Sweeping in the fall season with my favorite green trio from @farmacybeauty ⠀ 🍂 Deep Sweep: I love when I say love I mean I can’t go without my deep sweep bha toner! This stuff has helped so much with my mascne and I am forever thankful for it! Definitely a staple in my collection. FARMACY - Deep Sweep 2% BHA Pore Cleaning Toner With Moringa + Papaya ⠀ 🍂 Daily Greens: you guys know how much I love my daily greens. I can’t wait until the day that I can be reunited with my full size again! (On my Christmas wish list!) as for now this mini will do. FARMACY - Daily Greens Oil-Free Gel Moisturizer with Moringa and Papaya ⠀ 🍂 Green Clean: The best makeup melt ever! I makes my skin so clean and nourished but it does leave a film on my lashes sometimes that’s the only downfall. FARMACY - Green Clean Makeup Removing Cleansing Balm ⠀ Have you tried any of these green beauties? Which is your favorite?!
Why to Add HA Serum to your Routine
The Ordinary’s Hyaluronic Acid serum is a cult favourite. It has won an Allure Beauty Award in 2019. It retails for only $6.80 CAD. When winter came and I was noticing that my skin was feeling dry by midday it was an easy decision to add it to my routine! Claims It is a pure vegan hyaluronic acid that includes low, medium and high molecular weight hyaluronic acid, at a concentration of 2%. It is supported by Vitamin B5 for enhanced hydration. It targets dryness. Good for all skin types. Hyaluronic Acid (HA) Hyaluronic Acid helps plump fine lines and improves elasticity and dryness. It’s a great addition to your skincare routine once you are in your 30s to help with hydration, as the amount of HA in our skin decreases as we get older. HA is sugar that is found naturally in our skin. It can hold 1000x its weight in water. Eating a diet with lots of fruits & vegetables with antioxidants can also help us retain HA. HA can we found in HA serums, an addition to serums with other actives, and creams. HA plays well with most other ingredients. A cream or serum with HA in different molecular weights allows it to seep into different layers of skin. HA are typically less expensive than other serums such as Vit C. It works best when applied to a damp face or before a water-based serum or moisturizer because it pulls the water into your skin. Otherwise it could pull the water out of your skin. My Experience The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 The serum is clear and easily applies. I don’t experience any tackiness. When I first introduced this product to my routine I was using it AM & PM as it recommends, but I started noticing some irritation, red cheeks. I read some people can experience irritation from HA. I scaled back to only using in the AM. I put it on directly after my cleanser and before my Vit C serum. No more irritation. I have noticed that the dryness I was experiencing by midday is gone but I can’t say that I’ve noticed any difference in fine lines or wrinkles. A HA serum with more molecular weights and a higher percentage might have better results. But for $7 I can’t complain. Other HA to try include: VICHY - Minéral 89 Face Serum GLOW RECIPE - Plum Plump Hyaluronic Acid SerumPAULA'S CHOICE - Hyaluronic Acid Booster
You’re new best friend HYALURONIC ACID
Hyaluronic acid? Who is she? She’s your new best friend also called “hyaluronan” hyaluronic acid is found naturally in your body, it’s in your eyes, skin, and connective tissue (she does it all.) hyaluronic acid main function is to retain moisture, it can hold up to 1000x times it weight in moisture! So what is it gonna do? It is going to trap that moisture from the air suck it in and slap it right onto your pretty perfect face And keep your skin hydrated, smooth, plump, and cute! Once it does that it’s actually going to tell your sebaceous gland to slow down on the production of sebum, so if you have oily dehydrated skin this will work the wonders you’ve been looking for. Hyaluronic has plentiful of Benefits, it helps wounds especially from acne so it will help heal instead of scar. Sense your body produces hyaluronic acid it’s actually very rare for someone to have allergic reaction to this ingredient! What I’ve done is put together 3 products ranging from $5 to $100 let’s say hi and talk about them! The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 the ordinary brand has been making its way across social media and I have to say for around $5 you can’t beat it, it has 15 forms of hyaluronic acid & B5 that enhances hydration but one of the negatives is that it has a PH level of 6-7.5 your skin needs to stay between 4.5-5.5 so after using this product you will need a nice toner to bring your skin balance back down to the proper PH. PAULA'S CHOICE - Hyaluronic Acid Booster Paulas choice has been around for A long time! She knows what she’s doing out there 💋 after water hyaluronic is the 3rd ingredient in this product and has been apart of 7 RESEARCH STUDYS SENSE 2003! For a whopping $36 I think if you have the extra coin to try it! Now with this product there are more Pro reviews than there are CONS but on the CON side the main issue seems to be people are having reactions to other ingredients in this product. SKINCEUTICALS - Hyaluronic Acid Intensifier Serum THIS RIGHT HERE! She is one of the top products recommended by dermatologist out on the market she goes for a hefty $100 but lets dive a little deeper, 10% proxy lane which helps the hyaluronic acid levels on your skin stay balanced for a longer time 0.2% purple rice extract, helps preserve hyaluronic acid 1.3% hyaluronic acid (this is the golden number of how much hyaluronic acid you would want in a product) With these ingredients it’s amplifies hyaluronic acid by 30%! Hope this helped you beautiful people out just a little, please follow me for more product knowledge and next time we will dig deeper into KNOWING YOUR CORRECT SKIN TYPE! CERAVE HYDRATING GEL CLEANSER REVIEW! 💚
Hi! 👋 I am going to be talking about my overall experience with this cleanser from Cerave! CeraVe - Hydrating Facial Cleanser INFO: This is recommended for Normal to dry skin! Though, I would recommend it for all skin types. For reference, I have combination skin! I have areas of dry patches and oily areas on my skin! This cleanser can be found at Target, Ulta, Walmart, and Amazon! The cleanser is $14 USD for 12oz! They offer a trail size of 3oz which is great if you want to try it out! REVIEW: This was recommended by my dermatologist, when I had severe acne. My overall experience with this product is great, it left my skin hydrated after washing it off (does not strip the skin). This is a gel cleanser, so it does not foam (create bubbles). Some people say that the product did not cleanse their skin well enough or that it caused them to get breakouts. I use it also as a double cleanser, so I use it twice in a row to get off makeup. This didn’t happen to me, but just another reason to try the trial size! Highly recommend! thanks for reading! Comment your experience with this product! Follow me for more! :)
Differin progress... is this a purge or what?
Sorry this is gross.. I know my skin isn’t pretty right now. Today marks the 4th week I’ve been on DIFFERIN - 0.1% Adapalene Acne Treatment Gel Pump and also my new birth control (yaz). I have literally never, EVER seen my skin this awful and angry. Should I stick it out until the and of 12 weeks? Does this look like a purge or just a flat out breakout?! I’m freaking out.. I don’t even want to go outside looking like this. I’m also using Cetaphil - Cetaphil Moisturizing Cream am and pm, and cleansing with CeraVe - Hydrating Facial Cleanser . Not looking to add any more products. Sometimes I use a hydrating toner. The dryness and peeling has subsided but the pimples do hurt, my cheeks are tender to the touch and sometimes itchy but that has gotten better over time also. Please help!!!!! EDIT: i just bought the DIFFERIN - Daily Deep Cleanser BPO 5%, Neutrogena - On-the-Spot Acne Treatmentand HERO COSMETICS - Mighty Patch Original for Madewellto hopefully combat the horrible breakouts pictured above. just praying it doesnt over dry my skin.
I have combination to dry skin so hydration is really the most important thing in my skincare routine. After years of testing different products, I finally found that these products from TATCHA really work best for me. 💦💦 TATCHA - The Essence Plumping Skin Softener- It is absorbed quickly and leaves skin feeling/looking smooth and hydrated all day. TATCHA - Luminous Deep Hydration Firming Serum- The texture is a half translucent fluid gel. When it's applied to the face, the dry spots on the sides of the nose feel a little prickly. After it's absorbed, my skin feels supple and plump. TATCHA - The Water Cream- Don't just assume all dewy creams are refreshing. I was originally using the La Mer's moisturizing gel cream, but after washing my face in the morning, my skin felt slippery and greasy as if the cream had just stayed on top of my skin. Whereas, when I got up and washed my face the next day after using Tatcha (the third step), my face felt fresh and without any residue!
Favorite Eye Serum!!
TATCHA Luminous Deep Hydration Firming Eye Serum is my favorite eye serum. This weightless serum is marketed and used to help improve dryness, fine line and wrinkles under the eye. This product helps build hydration under the eye. The serum feels really light in texture, almost like a gel. It feels a lot more hydrating compared to other gel eye cream. It simply just glides effortlessly onto skin and is super hydrating. The way I use this product is simply by massaging it under my eye with the cooling ceramic applicator. I have been using this for about 5 months now and I decided to try it because of the way it is made. It’s has caffeine from green tree and extract of Japanese rice bran and red algae. It is not time consuming at all and just feels like your giving yourself a massage. I really needed some hydration under my eye and this has worked wonders for me. It’s is so hydrating and feels smooth on my skin. I would definitely recommend this product to all because you will really see a difference. This is an expensive product but it is definitely worth it hands down. It cost $85 and can be bought at all the makeup stores around you. This brand has some of the best products and so far with all the ones I have tried I have loved them all.

My nighttime and morning cream/serum routine
I’m not sure if it makes a difference, but I pretty much have the same routine for both night and morning. The only thing I do differently at night then in the morning is deep clean more.😊 The Ordinary - Marine Hyaluronics since using I’ve seen my skin look a lot brighter PALMER'S - Cocoa Butter Formula, Perfecting Facial Oil my skin is actually oily so I try not to use this too much. PALMER'S - Eventone® Fade Cream Really fading my dark spots. I will be posting a before and after picture The liquid in the jar that says clarity is AC. Apple cider vinegar. I use it as my toner. So far my skin is looking brighter and healthier.❣️❤️🌸
The Ordinary Marine Hyaluronics Review
[PRODUCT REVIEW] Serum/Hydrator The Ordinary - Marine Hyaluronics Vegan Cruelty free Gluten free Fragrance free Texture: A very lightweight liquid serum, feels basically like water on hand, leaves a little bit of sticky feelings on my face after spreading/ patting it out. In my opinion this can be used as a toner. What It Is: Essentially an alternative to hyaluronic acid. It’s a hydrator that attracts and holds water. Retails for $6.8/30mL. My Experience: It’s one of those products that I will empty but don’t feel excited to buy again. Pros: Although I have combo/oily skin, winter air in NYC still gives me dry patches and the heater at home makes it worse. It does a decent job of hydrating my skin and it feels super light. But it doesn’t make a dramatic difference. Cons: This product’s texture is super runny that it can sometimes be messy.

Hi lovelies 💕 Here is what I’ve been using for the past few months and I just want to say - a very simple routine goes a long way. Cleanser: your skin should feel clean after you wash your face, but it shouldn’t feel ‘squeaky’. I think there are no need to use cleanser with active ingredients and acids as they strip your skin of your natural oils & pretty much leave your skin irritated. Gentle cleanser works best for me. I normally cleanse 1 time in the morning, and 2 times at night. Serum: I always apply serums while my skin is still wet. I don’t dry my face with a towel all the way, better yet, let your skin dry on its own and apply your serums while the skin it a bit wet. I warm up my serum in my hands for 2 seconds before I apply it to my face. This specific serum from Vichy is great, and it is safe to use on your eyes so I apply it everywhere. Moisturizer: something I did not know when I was younger - no matter what your skin type is, moisturize. Find a moisturizer that works for you and apply it every.single.day. I had a bit of an oily skin growing up and thought a moisturizer would make it more oily and would clog pores, so I skipped that step completely. After trying a bunch of creams/moisturizers/lotions, I am now using the most simple one you can find in any store, and it does it’s job perfectly for me and does not clog my precious pores. I highly recommend a simple moisturizer during the day, no active ingredients needed. SPF: simply a must. Don’t skip it. I wear SPF even when I’m at home as the sun could still get it. Another mistake that I made when I was younger is not wearing SPF which made my PIH worse. I use this ultra light SPF which is non-comedogenic and creates a very good base for makeup. This combo of lotion + SPF is my favourite as they feel light on the skin and they don’t ‘roll’ on the surface. PM: this is where these active ingredients come in handy. Choosing your night treatment is very important as this is when you can address what concerns you the most and the treatment will soak right into your skin and will sit there overnight while you sleep 😴 making your $ count as PM treatments get pricey and you want to get the most of using them. My concerns are PIH and dark spots, niacinimide works very well for me. This very simple PM lotion from Cerave is very effective if you struggle from PIH, I highly recommend it 👍🏼 Don’t forget to drop your suggestions for me in the comments ❤️
Worth the hype? Best hyaluronic serum?
VICHY - Minéral 89 Face Serum It seems that everyone has been raving about this product and rightfully so. It is light weight and can easily incorporate into your day/ night skincare routine. This serum’s base is mineral rich volcanic water—89% to be exact, and contains “15 skin-loving minerals including iron, potassium, calcium, and manganese that work to moisturize skin, re-balance its pH, and protect against pollutants.” — Vichy Another bragging point, is that this product contains only 11 ingredients — clean, allergy tested, dermatologist tested , and Vegan. We all know what an amazing ingredient hyaluronic acid is for our skin—plumps and retain moisture. And this product does just that. It’s so simple and I would definitely recommend this for friends that have very sensitive skin. The only set back about this brand (in general) is that I’m not 100% sure of their cruelty free status. According to their site they do not test on animals but it seems that they currently sell/ market their products in China — which requires animal testing. Maybe this is old news? And if not, hopefully one day that’ll change. So I use it and love it with hesitation and I’m not sure if I would repurchase after I finish the bottle. Maybe I’ll change my mind- who knows. If that (cruelty-free status) is not a factor when you buy/ use cosmetics than go for it! It is $30 and it’s super accessible- available on Ulta*, CVS, Walgreens, Vichy.com, Skinstore.com. If you find yourself on a budget, get it at CVS. There’s always a sale and of course coupons. ** Ulta has them in 3 sizes. Here are some hyaluronic acid serums that are confirmed 🐰cruelty-free: THE inkey LIST - Hyaluronic Acid Hydrating Serum GOOD MOLECULES - Hyaluronic Acid Serum The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 Please share your favorites below. Thank you. Be Kind, Stay Beautiful
Chemical vs. Physical Exfoliants
Why exfoliate? The dead skin cells on your face dull your complexion, clog your pores, and cause breakouts—and sloughing them away is the first step to brighter and smoother skin. Exfoliating is basically a part of the basic skincare regimen. The most common exfoliating products are topical scrubs—physical exfoliants. But if you are feeling more serious than ever about your skincare regimen, then consider switching over to a chemical exfoliant. These work much deeper and far more effectively than a superficial scrub. Some of my favorite physical and chemical Exfoliants are: PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliator The Ordinary - Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution PETER THOMAS ROTH - Peptide 21 Amino Acid Exfoliating Peel Pads GOOD MOLECULES - Pineapple Exfoliating Powder TATCHA - The Rice Polish Foaming Enzyme Powder pixi - Peel & Polish Let me know your fav exfoliant in the comments. Would love to know!
Dupe for your soul
✨ I got Kate somervilles exfolikate in a fabfitfun box and fell in love! I fell less in love when I went to buy more and saw it was 85$ for 2 oz!!! 😱😱😱 ✨ Exfolikate features enzyme, chemical and physical exfoliation. It uses papaya enzymes, lactic acid and silica beads. (I would not have used this if I had known from the beginning it used silica beads) ✨ I’ve been trying to get out every last drop while trying to find a product that could give me the same results but for way less! ✨ In comes pixi peel and polish you get 2.75 oz for 25$ ✨ Pixi features enzymes, chemical and physical exfoliation! It uses papaya extract, lactic acid and sugar cane as it’s physical exfoliation. (Thank goodness for no silica beads) ✨ I just started using pixi it uses the same directions as exfolikate rub on moistened skin for 30 seconds and leave on for no more then 2 minutes! I love it just as much and it’s so much cheaper!! ✨

CeraVe Renewing SA cleanser - Review
CeraVe - Renewing SA Cleanser For Normal Skin Hey guys I’m going to be reviewing one of the newer cleansers from CeraVe. I’m going to be giving some background information on it, and of course my personal experience. Leave a like if you enjoyed! Background information: One of the main ingredients of this product is Salicylic Acid. (If you couldn’t tell y the products name) Salicylic Acid is an ingredient commonly used in products that want to deal with blackheads, pore problems, and any sort of irritation. The ingredient is very soothing to the skin, and is good at digging deep into your pores and getting all the gunk out. It is also a form of chemical exfoliation which is really healthy for your skin if you do it not too often. Other ingredients in this product include Niacinamide, and glycerin. Glycerin is a hydrating ingredient while Niacinamide focuses more on oil production and pore problems. My personal experience: I started using this product late August 2020. I was super excited to use this light chemical exfoliant cleanser for such a long time, and I was happy I finally had gotten my hands on it. The first time I had washed my face with it i could feel the texture of my skin smoothen. This cleanser is very gentle, and even though the ingredient list is super simple, it’s very effective and does a good job with your skin concerns. Over time blackheads seemed to fade away more, and the texture of my skin continued to get smoother. I’d recommend this product to anyone who had blackhead problems or pore problems, or anyone with acne in general. It’s super light and gets rid of excess makeup if your micellar water or makeup balm didn’t clean off all your makeup. I love this and will be repurchasing in the future. Salicylic acid is a life saver ingredient, and I’m sure it will work for others as good as it worked for me! They sell this on Ulta, Sephora, and at Target! Try it out guys and let me know what you think!
My Winter 2021 Skincare Routine
Hey guys, I’m going to be reviewing my 2021 winter skincare routine! PURITO - Comfy Water Sun Block This sunscreen is my go to. It’s so light and amazing, and really does the job. Keeping those UV rays without even being able to tell I have a sunscreen on. This sunscreen leaves no white cast either. Amazing! Mineral sunscreens are very sustainable as well. CeraVe - Renewing SA Cleanser For Normal Skin I’ve been using this Salicylic Acid based cleanser for a couple months now, and can for sure tell the difference of the texture of my skin, and my pores. I’ll be also posting a full review of this product as well. No fragrance, and gets all the dirt and excess makeup off my skin. Amazing and no bad reactions! The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 I’ve already reviewed this serum, so you can scroll down my account to see my opinion, but it is amazing. Super hydrating, light, a little tacky feel at first (takes a second to absorb into my skin) but afterwards I have a plump and hydrated feeling throughout my skin! The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% I started using this serum late July 2020. So far, no bad thoughts about it. This serum is super light, and really makes a difference. I’ll also be posting a full review on this product. A big difference in my pores since before I started using it. Less clogged pores, and a much smoother texture skin in problematic areas. CeraVe - CeraVe Moisturising Cream This is my favorite winter moisturizer. It’s super thick, and absorbs well into my skin. It leaves me skin with a nice and soft feel to it. Using this moisturizer during the winter is amazing because it leaves my skin very hydrated throughout the whole day without any dry patches! CeraVe - Eye Repair Cream I’ve been using this since the summer of 2020, and I haven’t noticed much of a difference. You could probably just use your moisturizer as an eye cream, because I can’t tell a difference in my skin. I’m not going to waste it though and I’ll finish it off. Otherwise just use moisturizer as an eye cream. Aquaphor - Healing Ointment Skin Protectant Lastly, my favorite lip balm. The best way to keep your lips moisturized all year long is to use this product. I haven’t had any cracked lips or lip problems in years since I started using this product. Amazing and will never stop using Aquaphor!

Hello everybody who has hearted my posts to see my skin care journey (: This is what my skin has been looking like still using all of the same products! The only thing I’ve added is a jade roller just because it’s sooooo relaxing lol. I do have acne scars and rosacea, but I’ve noticed my rosacea is reduced when I treat my skin well. Now remember I’m also 9 months Preggo and haven’t been eating the best 😬 Guilty I know, but my skin is looking so much healthier and glowier! I don’t have perfect skin, but I do see a huge improvement from what I’ve dealt with in the past. First I still use the THE inkey LIST - Oat Cleansing Balm balm to remove my makeup. Oats are very calming for your skin and reduce redness so I love the way this feels when I double cleanse. Next I rinse that off well and go in with my LA ROCHE-POSAY - Toleriane Hydrating Gentle Face Cleanser This stuff hasn’t broken me out once and I have very sensitive skin so I definitely recommend just trying it out for yourself. After I cleanse my skin I go in with my PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliator as a toner. (Only use at night) This stuff is strong, but I find using it only at night helps more because I’m not adding so much to my face. This has helped reduce my pores and also clear some mild breakouts and redness on my face. Next I go in with my amazing oil I got of amazon Cos De BAHA - Azelaic Acid 10% Serum with Niacinamide Acne Scar Removal + Redness Relief Face Now this stuff is AMAZING. I apply this with the dropper every morning and night and it is a miracle worker!! I would rate this more than 5 stars. It helps calm your skin and also helps with breakouts, hyperpigmentation and so much more. After this step I use my Neutrogena - Neutrogena Hydroboost Water Gel Moisturizer The reason I give it three stars is because it’s just your average basic moisturizer to me.. it works, but I’m sure there’s better moisturizers out there. For the price though it’s worth it if you want something easy. Next step after is always sunscreen in the morning! Never at night for me and I use GARNIER - Green Labs Pinea-C Brightening Serum Cream SPF 30 I only have been using this since December so I won’t give it five stars yet, but this is a good 3-1 face serum with spf! One thing I like is it doesn’t leave a white cast on me. Things I don’t like is how it has a lot of fragrance and it also can burn my eyes sometimes. If anyone has a better spf to try let me know (: That’s all I do for the morning and night time and then of course use my jade roller to feel relaxed. I do use my THE inkey LIST - Caffeine Eye Cream but I don’t see a difference on my under eyes. I’ll keep you all updated again soon ! ❤️
Update: my acne has reduced A LOT
I’ve been a bit MIA since my last post but here is the progress of my acne. If I were to pinpoint the main reasons why, then it’s these reasons: What I did wrong: - experimenting and using alot of different products. I was in a phase where I loved trying new products and my skin did not like that I was switching products all the time. - I did not spot test new products - overloaded my skin with many products. I don’t know who needs to hear this but a 10 step routine is NOT for acne prone skin. - drank little water each day - used harsh products without re-balancing my skin with soothing products - masked almost everyday What I did to improve it: - reduce the number of products going on my skin. I now use only a max of 3 products in the morning and 5 products at night. - drank 2 litres of water every day - used a soothing pH-balanced toner - used a GENTLE chemical exfoliant - used retinol regularly - masked only every 2-3 days Some products I use in my daily routine that really helped my skin: PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliator as an all-over exfoliant PAULA'S CHOICE - BHA 9 Treatment as a spot treatment The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% to fade acne scars Products that I use every 2-3 days that helped my skin: AZCLEAR - Medicated Lotion (mixed with Niacinamide) to fade acne scars DRUNK ELEPHANT - A-Passioni Retinol Cream to bring out new baby skin ANDALOU NATURALS - CannaCell Glow Mask as a gentle exfoliating mask If you are going through something similar just know to take it SLOWLY. The skin is going through trauma and it is not an overnight success. If you have any questions I’m happy to answer.
Week 2 of Barrier Repair
After doing some more research I changed my routine to the following in Week 2: AM CLEANSE: washed face with water TREATMENT: The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 MOISTURISER: DRUNK ELEPHANT - Lala Retro Whipped Cream EYE CREAM: CeraVe - Eye Repair Cream SUNSCREEN: PAULA'S CHOICE - Calm Mineral Moisturizer Broad Spectrum SPF 30 PM PRE-CLEANSE: GARNIER - Micellar Milk Cleansing Water for dry and sensitive skin, this has been amazing and so gentle on my skin CLEANSE: CeraVe - Hydrating Face Cleanser For Normal To Dry Skin this is a nice gentle cleanser, as of yet I am not sure of the long term benefits but it doesn’t leave my skin dry/tight after washing. Will continue to see how it goes. TREATMENT: The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 this definitely leaves my skin feeling soft and hydrated after use. But unsure if hydrating enough. EYE CREAM: CeraVe - Eye Repair Cream still haven’t seen any improvements with this. MOISTURISER: DRUNK ELEPHANT - Lala Retro Whipped Cream as soon as I started using this my skin improved dramatically over night, I no longer had red rashy-looking bumps on my upper cheek. Even my husband noticed and complimented how my skin looked in the morning after just one use !! So this is a winner. Although, I am thinking as I get closer to summer I will go back to The Ordinary - Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA as I tend to get oily in the tzone and it is lighter than the DE moisturiser. Please tell me what you think of my routine. I am also looking at adding a chemical exfoliator, as I have deep black heads and visible pores across my cheeks and nose. And I get hormonal acne along my jawline. Suggestions on where to take my routine next are welcome. We have come out of winter and going into spring. The sun is out but the air outside is still quite nippy so havent started getting oily just yet.
PAULA'S CHOICE-Calm Mineral Moisturizer Broad Spectrum SPF 30
⚡️EXFOLIATION NIGHT ROUTINE⚡️
On Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays I exfoliate!! Monday nights are the days I apply my retinol, while Thursday and Saturday I use my regular chemical exfoliant ✨ 🌿CLEANSER- Krave - Matcha Hemp Hydrating Cleanser I LOVE this cleanser! I have combination-oily skin, but recently I’ve been trying to hydrate my skin more and it’s done WONDERS for my oil production! This cleanser is not stripping at all and leaves my skin soft and hydrated! ⚡️EXFOLIATOR- 💙RETINOL (Monday’s)- DIFFERIN - DIFFERIN Acne Treatment Gel I’ve been prescribed this by my doctor about a year ago and saw a huge difference with my acne. I just started using it again, and I forgot how much it helps. The only con is that I forget how drying and irritating it can be. Once a week is a good spot for me right now at this dosage. ☕️CHEMICAL- YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Kombucha + 11% AHA Exfoliation Power Toner This is my first chemical exfoliator and it’s lasting me a longgg time. I enjoy using this as it’s very good at deep cleansing my pores and getting extra dirt out of them. It has a ‘natural’ smell, aka not an amazing one. But still gets the job done! 💧SERUMS- ☁️The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% I LOVE THIS it’s absolutely amazing at controlling my oil production and evening out my skin!!! I will say though, I haven’t noticed it help with my acne, but I don’t believe niacinamide is supposed to treat acne. 🌊The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5Just started using this, so can’t really rate it. But I love hyaluronic acid serums so I’m sure it’ll be great :) 💦FIRST AID BEAUTY - Ultra Repair Hydrating Serum this could be so good, but I’ve noticed that it burns my face, especially my cheeks when I apply it. Shame. 👀 EYE SERUM- The Ordinary - Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG I’ve struggled my whole teenage life with bags under my eyes. It seemed as if it didn’t matter how much sleep I got, I was always puffy and baggy. This is helping reduce the bags so much!! Bless the ordinary 🐘MOISTURIZER- DRUNK ELEPHANT - Protini Polypeptide Cream I have been using this for about 2.5 weeks, and i just love the look and feel of my skin after I use it and when I wake up in the morning. It’s plump and hydrated 👄LIPS- LANEIGE - LANEIGE Lip Sleeping Mask this is only 3 stars because honestly I get the same results if I put on carmex before bed. It’s a nice experience with the spatula applicator and everything, but it’s not worth the money.
The Ordinary-Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG
Review my routine!
Hello everyone, I am going to show you my routine every night, I hope you can read it and my thoughts will help you! remember each product works differently depending on your skin type. 〰️ 〰️ 〰️ 1️⃣ I start by washing my face with fresh - Soy Makeup Removing Face Wash I really enjoy using this cleanser, It is my favorite since it leaves my skin super clean and refreshing, it has a cucumber smell that I love. 〰️ 〰️ 2️⃣ my next step is to spray YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Adaptogen Soothe + Hydrate Activated Mist with Reishi + Ashwagandha , I use this once I get my face clean and let it dry, also this is wonderful as a last step in my skin care routine in case I do a chemical peel or an enzyme powder to exfoliate. 〰️ 〰️ 〰️ 3️⃣ my third step I only do it when I have dark spots ( thanks to my hormonal acne) on my skin, and I really like Kiehl's - Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Solution It feels super light, dries very quickly and I have noticed a difference in the area of my cheek where I have had dark spots. 〰️ 〰️ 〰️ 4️⃣ my fourth step is to apply my moisturizer GLOW RECIPE - Watermelon Glow Pink Juice Moisturizer This is my favorite light weight moisturizer. It doesn’t feel heavy on the skin, it doesn’t freak out my oily T zone but still leaves my dry skin feeling nourished. 〰️ 〰️ 〰️ 5️⃣ don't forget to hydrate your lips 👄 so lastly I use LANEIGE - LANEIGE Lip Sleeping Mask Leaves my lips super hydrated, soft, I am so happy with this product, since I started using it the skin on my lips does not break like Before. if you got to last part, I hope it helps you some of my routine. 👏🏻 Thank you!
YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE-Adaptogen Soothe + Hydrate Activated Mist with Reishi + Ashwagandha
Hello Cherie community! I started being interested into skincare a few months ago and I’m curious to get some advice from people who have experienced similar issues with their skin. This is my current skincare routine. I’m wondering if I need to make some changes or just add some patience to it 😅 Let me know your thoughts. Much love, Nadia FARMACY - Green Clean Makeup Removing Cleansing BalmI use this cleansing balm at night when I’ve worn sunscreen and/or makeup. I absolutely love the feeling, the scent, all to it but I’m starting to wonder if it’s part of the problem. BIODERMA - Sensibio Soothing Mild Cleansing Gel My morning cleanser and double cleanser at night. I’m giving it a try and I like it so far. SUMMER FRIDAYS - CC Me Vitamin C SerumNew addition to my morning routine. I was told niacinamide and vitamin C could help with my dark spots so, I decided to give this serum a try. My skin is much smoother texture wise but I haven’t seen a difference in my spots so far. CeraVe - Moisturizing Cream For Normal To Dry SkinDay & night moisturizer. I wasn’t sure at the beginning since the texture is quite thick but my skin absorb it quite fast. REN CLEAN SKINCARE - Ready Steady Glow Daily AHA TonerI use this toner every other night to exfoliate. BIOSSANCE - Squalane + Phyto-Retinol SerumI use this serum every other night when I’m not exfoliating and my skin feel super plum the next morning.

Routine for Combo to Oily Skin
This is for the user@jlynn! Just remember these products might not work for you because everyone has different skin! I might give you two options for a skincare step/product. It takes 8-12 weeks to see the full results of this routine. This the order you should apply it in. Ask any questions in the comments! Morning Routine: CeraVe - SA Smoothing Cleanser- this is a salicylic cleanser that will help with acne! The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% OR PAULA'S CHOICE - 10% Niacinamide Booster- this reduces oils and helps with acne, blackheads, pores, dullness, etc. put 1-4 drops on your fingers and pat/rub in. patch test before use. both of these products do the same thing but some people are sensitive to the zinc in The Ordinary serum so I just wanted to give two options! i personally use The Ordinary Niacinamide because it works for me. CeraVe - Ultra-Light Moisturizing Lotion SPF 30 For Normal To Oily Skin OR YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Superfood Air-Whip Moisture Cream- the CeraVe Cream is inexpensive and has spf in it so you don’t have to buy sunscreen separately. also has niacinamide and zinc in it which helps with acne. this version is extra light but they do have the same thing except slightly thicker. the only thing is that it isn’t vegan or cruelty-free (all the other products are). then the Superfood Air-Whip Cream. this is formulated specifically for combo to oily skin! it hydrates but isn’t super thick. it is also formulated with hyaluronic acid which is a great ingredient that hydrates without making your skin oily. Supergoop! - Unseen Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 40- this is if you choose a moisturizer that doesn’t already have spf in it!! this sunscreen is lightweight and won’t leave you feeling greasy. Night Time Routine: YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Superfood Antioxidant Cleanser- this goes deep into your pores so it is great for acne! i absolutely love it PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliator- great for acne, blackheads, and pores. patch test before use. YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Superfood Air-Whip Moisture Cream OR CeraVe - PM Facial Moisturizing Lotion- same two options as before except the CeraVe one does not have SPF in it now and isn’t as lightweight. Other: The Ordinary - Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution- this is great for oily skin, acne, blackheads, texture, etc. you can use this every night but since it is very strong I would recommend only using about 2-3 times a week. when you use it, use it at night and not in the morning! use it after cleansing but before serums. patch test before use Krave - Great Barrier Relief- use this whenever your skin is feeling irritated or is red! it will give you relief and restore your barriers. you can use this as a light moisturizer or you can apply it like a serum with moisturizer on top. Note: If you use this routine for three months or so and literally nothing changes then I recommend just washing your face once a day with the SuperFood Cleanser and then after using the Krave Great Barrier Relief and a light moisturizer and that’s it. Because sometimes your face just needs a bit of a break and you need to restore your barriers. But that’s if it’s been months and nothing seems to work! I hope this routine will work for you and you will end up liking some of these products!
PAULA'S CHOICE-10% Niacinamide Booster
Review My PM Skincare Routine 🌙
I’m beginning my first week of a structured nighttime skin routine! I’ve been playing around a few weeks now and doing a LOT of research before deciding on the plan. So here it is! Areas to address: -Large pores -Flares of cystic acne -Scars from previous cystic acne -Mascne DRUNK ELEPHANT - E-Rase Milki Micellar Water First I always start by removing the day’s makeup. It’s a rare day where I don’t wear at least foundation and mascara. I just received this sample from Drunk Elephant and have used a few days now and it has been working VERY well for me. I plan to do a post on makeup removers in the future, but I am purchasing the full size of this one ASAP! TULA SKINCARE - The Cult Classic Purifying Face Cleanser After removing the makeup, I move onto cleansing. My skin loves probiotics in a cleanser, so I decided to try Tula’s cleanser since the brand touts probiotics. This cleanser has a gel consistency and a strange smell I don’t care for, but my face does feel clean after using. I don’t love this as much as I had hoped and probably won’t repurchase, but it hasn’t caused anything bad to happen. COSRX - Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence The Ordinary - Marine Hyaluronics After cleansing, I apply Cosrx snail mucin or marine Hyaluronics. Yes, at first it seemed pretty weird to use snail mucin, but my face LOVES this stuff. It definitely helps tone down redness and is super hydrating. Cosrx is a thicker, kind of stretchy consistency that seems more hydrating than the marine Hyaluronics. I like both products and alternate based on how dry my skin feels. The Ordinary - Lactic Acid 10% + HA After adding hydration I will use lactic acid or a retinol serum or will skip this step altogether if using a mask treatment that day. Right now I’m using lactic acid just twice a week but love the way my skin feels the next morning after use. OR Kate Somerville - +Retinol Vita C Power Serum Since I’m just starting to add a retinol Serum into my routine I’m only using this twice a week also and not on the same nights I use lactic acid to avoid irritation. This product has a pretty strong citrus smell which I don’t mind and goes smoothly. So far so good! After finishing with the serums, I finish with a moisturizer! On nights I don’t use a retinol serum I’ve been using OLAY - Regenerist Retinol24 Night Moisturizer My skin feels amazing after putting it on and I have not had any dryness or irritation from it and I’m about a month in using it. I noticed a difference in redness the morning after I started using it! On nights I’ve used a retinol serum (stronger retinol than the moisturizer) I use my standby moisturizer Neutrogena - Neutrogena Hydroboost Water Gel Moisturizer Questions, comments, tips? Lmk!
