Before and after
Hi guys!! I'm not sure how long it's been, but I've spent a loooot of time just figuring out what works for my skin over time. Also I'm going to the derm today so I'll let you guys know what they think and say!! But anyways the first pic was my skin a few months ago and then the second is my skin rn. The only difference in my routine is how much more strict I am and how I've simplified my routine. I still completely realize I have acne, breakouts and all that but my skin is definitely more calm and clean! I don't use any fragrance products I wash my face every day I never keep makeup on over night I use a moisturizer BECAUSE ITS IMPORTANT EVEN WITH ACNE!! And I don't pick my face These are just some tips I have that have made a difference for me. Ill post my full routine that has helped to calm my skin sometime this week!
Opinions on new Dove Trend?
I want to try this product out. I have combination but mainly oily skin and acne. Would you recommend this? Also do you prefer the sensitive skin one or just the normal one? Let me know if you have used this product!
Share some great and some not so great products!
Let's use this post as a place to comment our experiences with different popular products or products that worked well for us! For example, for oily skin, what are some products that you use or recommend to help achieve a more normal skin type? For dry skin, what product is very moisturizing and rich? I personally have combination skin, and acne prone skin, and would love recommendations of moisturizers! Sometimes the best way to find what works for you is experimenting! But keep in mind the following:‼️‼️ -give your products time before you switch to something else -do your research and look at ingredients - only change one product from your routine at a time in case of irritation -learn about what your skin needs, and what irritates your skin Let's help each other out! Tips for Stubborn Acne
The first pic is me maybe a few months ago and the second one is me today. I still have breakouts, my skin still has acne, but I also have it definitely more under control. (In the second pic the dark spots are acne scars) My biggest tip is consistency!! I cant always recommend products because some things just doesn't work for everyone. But once you find products that you like, be consistent. Changing up your routine too much could aggravate your skin. Test a product for a month, and then stick with it! My routine is AM LA ROCHE-POSAY - Anthelios 60 Clear Skin Dry Touch Sunscreen SPF 60 PM PanOxyl - Acne Foaming Wash Benzoyl Peroxide 10% Maximum Strength CeraVe - PM Facial Moisturizing Lotion DIFFERIN - DIFFERIN Acne Treatment Gel
PanOxyl-Acne Foaming Wash Benzoyl Peroxide 10% Maximum Strength
If anyone is to ask me for an acne treatment recommendation, most of the time I will say DIFFERIN GEL !! The only reason I wouldn't recommend it would be dependent on their lifestyle Let's talk about differin gel: - Don't plan on being in the sun unless you have a LOT of sunscreen on - you will experience purging and it does NOOOT work right away - you could have dry skin or peeling so wear a lot of moisturizer as well - this is great for scarring or acne breakouts! - I find that it also helps to control my oil! Some cons: - dryness - you have to give this product time - you can still experience hormonal breakouts and breakouts in general but don't give up on this treatment - sun burning and irrational easily But the cons can easily be overlooked because I definitely think this product has done an incredible amount for me and I've been using it for so long DIFFERIN - DIFFERIN Acne Treatment Gel

My skincare journey - learn from my mistakes
I’m the first to admit I took for granted my skin for a long time. I only had minor breakouts in my teens & was never one to wear much for makeup. My routine consisted of a makeup wipe to cleanse & then the occasional OTC acne treatment when I’d have breakouts. One day while browsing the isles of Ulta I was approached by a female worker for help. I told her I was looking for a new foundation because my favorite was no longer working. She asked what my skincare routine was & I told her I used the occasional moisturizer & that’s it. Well, she need not explain as I knew what she was going to say, I needed to take care of my skin first! Well, off to IG I went. I followed many major influencers, you know, the ones who have like 100K & are getting all their products free. 🙄 I didn’t even take that into consideration & just started purchasing everything they recommended. Enter slide 2-3-4 as my skin reacted! I started having more breakouts than I’ve had combined in my life. I destroyed my skin barrier to the point it hurt to even put water on it! 🙈 What did I do wrong? I threw everything on my face without: 1. Researching 2. Starting slow 3. Choosing options that best suited my skin type After around three months of doing it wrong, I wised up and started over: 1. Found a gentle cleanser 2. Added Hyaluronic Acid for hydration 3. Picked one treatment product and stuck to it without adding any others 4. Found a gentle moisturizer 5. WORE SUNSCREEN- ALWAYS Slowly my face started to respond. I had less irritation. I realized I didn’t have sensitive skin but that I was sensitizing my skin by overkill on products. 🎯 Once I had my skin back in balance I was able to start working with other products; toners, Niacinamide, vitamin C, AHA/BHA’s, and most recently a retinol. If I had come out of the gate with this basic routine I know I would have saved my face from all the damage & scarring I’m left with now. I also know I am blessed with having genetically good skin as a woman in her mid 40’s. 🙈 My focus now on my skin is brightening, balancing my skin tone, lifting dark spots & scars & preventing wrinkles. I never go a day without doing my routine (am/pm) & that says a lot for a girl who used to just use a makeup wipe. I’ve tried A LOT of products and the one piece of advice I’d give you is: Purchase products that are meant for YOUR specific skin type. Don’t get caught up in the hype. Take the time to research, review, read comments from Several sources. It’s worth the time as you’ll save money. And ALWAYS TEST PATCH. Understand the difference between your skin having a reaction to it PURGING . I have A LOT to learn still. I will never stop so I can share with with others. I’m also so very thankful for a community like Cherie as it has given me a one stop source for information. I no longer have to look up a product on the internet. All info I need is in one handy app. Thanks for reading my journey 😘 #cheriecontentcreator
