Post acne scarring🥴 Ultimately, “less is more” is why my skin isn’t breaking out daily. No more painful, cystic acne.
I got my skin adjusted to the bare minimum.👍🏼
I slowly introduce new products.
No acids (Salicylic, Lactic, etc…), no exfoliating, no topicals.
This stage of my skin journey is to allow my skin to heal & do what it’s supposed to do without disrupting the healing process. I still provide my skin with the necessary ingredients needed to assist with barrier repair & a healthy biome.
Ceramides, Probiotics, Hyaluronic Acid, Colloidal Oatmeal, Niacinamide, Green Tea.
* If anybody could recommend any more barrier repair products &/or ingredients i’m all 👂🏼 Self Luv/ Self CareWith consistency, comes results💋

SPF Please
I live where the sun shines virtually every day! Therefore, my routine is photo protective. From my morning Vitamin C + antioxidant serums, to my evening gentle acid exfoliants, I have built my skincare routine around anti-aging preventatives. I recently began working topical retinol at low % into my routine and get monthly Y:ag laser facials to stimulate and encourage collagen production. I’m about to turn 26, and I am very lucky to have plenty of collagen and few wrinkles. I spent a lot of my early 20s breaking the cardinal rules of anti-aging including smoking cigarettes (I’ve been nicotine free for over a year now!) and skipping SPF most days. I even had a brief bout of tanning booth addiction 😟 Now I use spf products as a daily routine. I was committed to Supergoop! - Unseen Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 40 until a girl at Ulta recommended StriVectin - Full Screen SPF 30 Clear Finish which has a lower SPF and similar consistency as Unseen. I’ve also tried the Supergoop! - 100% Mineral Smooth & Poreless Matte Screen SPF 40AND Supergoop! - Glowscreen Sunscreen SPF 40, neither of which I was really crazy about. The gel/primer consistency of both Unseen Sunscreen and the Strivectin spf are more conducive to my skincare routine and they both sink into my skin without leaving a greasy feeling. Now that I have an office job and wfh, I’m spending about 10 hours/day staring at two huge computer monitors, so I think I’ll stick with the Strivectin screen that also includes Vitamins A, B, C, and Pro-Vitamin D (?) and claims for protect against UVA/UVB, Blue Light (computer screens), and pollution. It’s affordable, comfortable to wear, a little goes a long way, and performs well under makeup when I’m wearing it. The lower spf isn’t a problem for me because I’m not standing in direct sunlight or anything. I think if I had my previous job working outside everyday I’d want a higher spf. Another line of defense I like to fall back on are SPF tinted moisturizers. A while back I had tried the PÜR - 4-in-1 Tinted Moisturizer Broad Spectrum SPF 20 which is honestly such a dream. This is a photo of me wearing it on a midday walk. It’s low to medium coverage, buildable, hydrating, and stays put! I don’t have very oily skin or especially dry skin so I feel it is a happy medium for those with normal or combo skin types. By no means is it full coverage. I slap this on (using my fingers to apply) if I’m planning to go for a walk in the sunshine or on a hike, in addition to my base layer of SPF. Of course, the best preventative is keeping the sun off your face at all costs, so you’ll usually see me on the trails with one of my favorite floppy hats, or sometimes if I’m feeling jazzy - my Bluestone Sunshield (see a few posts back). Do you wear SPF every day? Have you made any lifestyle changes for the sake of beauty/anti-aging? Share your tips or thoughts below!

Top 5 sunscreen - especially for acne-prone skin
Top 5 sunscreen - especially for acne-prone skin
Supergoop! - Unseen Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 40 I will be the first to admit that I was not serious about sun protection in my youth, but now I’m on the sunscreen train and never coming off. One of the reasons why I never wanted to wear face sunscreen was because it would leave me with inevitable breakouts. It took me a long time to find formulas that work with my skin and Supergoop’s Unseen Sunscreen is now my go-to. 💛💛💛 What I really love about it is that it’s oil-free and doubles as a makeup primer. It literally glides across the skin with its velvety formula and leaves it prepped for makeup, so you don’t have to worry about layering anything on top of it and potentially overwhelming your pores. (I do, however, add a little bit of a glowing on top of it to my high points for a dewier glow but Unseen Sunscreen has the rest of your skin covered!) 💛💛💛 The only thing I cannot vouch for is it’s shine controlling properties. My skin is oily enough to begin with and if it’s a stressful or sweaty day, there’s nothing that can stop my shine (this low-key sounds inspirational?? Lol) 💛💛💛 I would definitely recommend to a friend, especially if they have acne-prone skin. It's a little expensive ($32) compared to other sunscreens, but it really works and a little goes a loooong way.

Purito Comfy Water Sunblock -Review-
Purito Comfy Water Sunblock -Review-
PURITO - Comfy Water Sun Block ♥︎ Zinc Oxide - blocks damaging UV rays; its soothing properties is great for sensitive skin ♥︎ Titanium Oxide - protects skin from UVA/UVB rays and a stronger protection from UVB rays ♥︎ Niacinamide - strengthen skin barrier by preventing moisture loss - I’ve used this for approximately a month and 60ml is definitely enough! - ★ Doesn’t go in my pores ★ Good for my rosacea cheeks ★ My appearance looks younger b/c of the matte finish ☆ Has a minimal white cast ☆ Time consuming b/c it pills if you don’t apply little by little ☆ Does not go well on my dry areas and pills a lot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! - • Recommend for lighter skin tones, oily skin and acne prone skin ~ Would I purchase this again? Nope.

I S-cream for Suncreen!
I S-cream for Suncreen!
I always had trouble finding a sunscreen that will work for my skin without leaving a white-residue on my face. I was never a fan of creamy sunscreens however I decided to try it and now I have been using this Supergoop Everyday Sunscreen 50spf for almost a year now. Besides liking the no white- residue it does not leave my skin oily and no breakouts which is great because my skin is sensitive and acne prone. This is also great not just for the face but the body too. In fact this sunscreen also hydrates my skin. It is a creamy sunscreen but lightweight and fast-absorbing. I use this everyday under my makeup and what i like is that my makeup looks smooth underneath the layers of makeup I wear. Even wearing this sunscreen alone gives my skin a glowy look. I recommend this product to all skin types but if you’re more on the oily side I recommend to go with their matte sunscreen. You can get this sunscreen in 3 sizes 2.4oz- $22 7.5oz- $32 18oz- $48 Supergoop! - Everyday Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 50 PA ++++

Has anyone else experienced this?? 🤨

⭐️The SMELL oh my goodness. I have a very sensitive nose and this gives me headaches, smells like straight up chemicals to me. My sister tried it and she didnt mind the scent at all, so I guess it just depends. FOR THIS REASON, I use this mostly when I’m at the beach or on a day I know Im going to sweat a lot. Yikes. ⭐️I’m not sure if I would recommend this for people with darker skin tones unless you want to rub your face away and wait for the white cast to leave. It leaves a slight cast on my skin, but I dont really mind because like I said, I use this sunscreen on my ‘whatever’ days. ⭐️This is IDEAL for sensitive skin prone to acne, rosacea and hyperpigmentation. It contains niacinamide (vitamin B3), hyaluronic acid and lactic acid. It is lightweight BUT I feel like it never fully dries out for me and it leaves me a bit oily throughout. ♥️CONCLUSION. THIS IS A GREAT SUNSCREEN that even has niacinamide. I would recommend this product to anyone. I’ll probably repurchase it, but do want to try other sunscreens first to not have to deal with my aversion to this smell. IF YOU ARE A SUNSCREEN NEWBIE, I think you should try this out. There’s absolutely no harm (maybe a headache if you’re like me) lol. What do you think of this product? -J

In this image i’m wearing only COOLA - Classic Full Spectrum 360 Sun Silk Drops SPF 30 on my skin. The biggest con is price per OZ, hence the rating of four. However, SPF is so important and the coola silk sun drops makes it fabulously easy to do the two finger rule (it’s two droppers full). It’s effortless to rub in with no white cast and sets fairly quickly. It has UVA/UVB and blue light protection, as well as protection from pollution. Sun silk drops are full of antioxidants, which I love to help combat sun damage and environmental stressors like smog. This picture is about two hours after application and i look dewy and glowing, but it never feels greasy or like i need to blot. Likewise, when i sweat or swim it doesn’t burn my eyes. My skin stays supple while i have this product on. Its important to note I haven’t gotten a sunburn while wearing this product outside, so for me it’s one of the best chemical sunscreens. This product doesn’t irritate my sensitive skin and isn’t formulated with Gluten or fragrance— for me, that means less painful breakouts. Though it can get expensive when applying the correct amount every day, for me it’s worth it and I haven’t found anything comparable that doesn’t irritate my skin. It’s a great alternative to Glossier. - Invisible Shield Daily Sunscreen for those who are allergic to fragrance and or gluten/wheat. It’s a very similar scent and end result, the only differences are formulation, price, and texture. While invisible shield is not GF or fragrance free, sun silk drops are safe for every skin type.

Tatcha Silken Sunscreen
Tatcha Silken Sunscreen
My love for all things Tatcha is pretty strong! Their Silken Sunscreen is used to protect your skin from the sun. It also has ingredients that work to help with anti-aging and truly leaves your skin silky after application. It almost feels like a nice matte primer. It is silky and smooth in texture and applies beautifully. This is my second bottle of this sunscreen. I've been using it for about a year now. I was intrigued by its claims to leave you with a matte silky finish as most sunscreens tend to leave me greasy after an hour or so. I absolutely love this product. It works so well with my skin and doesnt break me out. It doesnt leave any white cast after it dries. It's priced pretty high at $65 for 2 ounces, so I can't say that I'd recommend it to everyone. Tatcha does sell a smaller deluxe sample size, so if you cant commit to the full price, that would be a great opportunity. I read that there may be other matte sunscreens out there, so I may purchase a different brand once this bottle runs out! 4.5/5 stars!TATCHA - Silken Pore Perfecting Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 35 PA+++
