Week 1 of Tretinoin and Spironolactone
For 1 week, I’ve been taking spironolactone every morning and applying .025% tretinoin every other night. Starting today, I will apply tretinoin every night. Regarding the spironolactone, I haven’t been experiencing any serious side effects. So far, I’ve been peeing more often and every once in a while I would get cramps that are similar to period cramps (I’m expecting my period to come at the end of this month). Regarding the tretinoin, I’ve been experiencing lots of purging. So many pimples have surfaced. I’ve also had some dryness, especially around my mouth and nostrils. I recently started using the CeraVe - Hydrating Face Cleanser For Normal To Dry Skin
‼️PSA: CEREVE CREAM TO FOAM CLEANSER‼️
I had so much hope for this cleanser. It literally went into my hand looking like shampoo, foamed up and lathered beautifully. The experience was 12/10! However. My cheeks had the WORST reaction. My face has never felt this burnt, flaky and dehydrated ever. Only my cheeks and under my nose had a reaction, aka my dry areas. My oiler areas (t-zone) didnt react at all. I’m soooo sad. I’m currently using the cereve hydrating cleanser in the morning & inkey list SA cleanser in the evening. I do was my fave twice a day because if I don’t by skin doesn’t feel as soft and nourished. So, that’s why I went with a super gentle cleanser for morning. Maybe even needing to use the SA cleanser 2-3x/week. I’m looking for something gentle, but will get my sunscreen off. Any recommendations would be extremely appreciated 💗💗💗💗 CeraVe - Hydrating Face Cleanser For Normal To Dry Skin
Hormonal Acne Journey (part 3)
Hello, lovelies! I am a day behind on posting and I am so sorry, but check out the difference in my skin! This is my second week using "Biologique Recherche" products and I am LOVING them! If this is the first post you have seen please go to my profile to get a full background on my journey and see my week to week progress! This is the clearest my skin has been in a YEAR. I am so thankful for these products. I am still using the same routine! IF I have worn makeup I will use the BIOLOGIQUE RECHERCHE - Lait Vip O2 Oxygenating Milk Cleanser , which is a facial cleanser. I do NOT double cleanse with this item. I use the CeraVe - Hydrating Face Cleanser For Normal To Dry Skin to cleanse my face first and get all of my makeup off. Then I use the toner suggested for acne prone skin, "Biologique Recherche P50V 1970". (I cannot find a link to this product). After that I use the BIOLOGIQUE RECHERCHE - Serum Placenta , which has been a huge game changer in my scars and the rate my acne heals after I... pick at it 🥴😶. I follow that up with the BIOLOGIQUE RECHERCHE - Creme Placenta facial lotion. It has similar properties to the serum. I use all of these twice daily with the exception of the cleanser. I also used the facial mask again, but only once this week. swipe the picture to see me with BIOLOGIQUE RECHERCHE - MASQUE VIVANT on my face! I seriously can't wait to see my results NEXT WEEK! 😱 Thank you all so much for following my journey! like I said please check out my previous posts for more details and progress pictures! I will update you all next week! I hope everyone has a blessed week! ❤ Be sure to check out my page for hair education as well! 😘 Instagrams: chey_bug hair.by.chey_ Tiktok: chey_bug97

Skin Concerns: sensitive skin
Skin type: fair to light Skin issues: rosacea, eczema, dry skin and oily t-zones I’ve been suffering with rosacea, eczema for the last six years. If you don’t know much about rosacea it’s when your skin is red and causes visble blood vessels around the central part of your face, nose and cheeks. It also causes bumps that look like acne but are actually a form of rash that is itchy, irritating and can leave scars. If you get a flare up it can last for a week to months. The flare ups (redness, rashes) can be so bad you have to take a round of antibiotics for a month to calm it down😭. Flare ups of Redness and rosacea rash can come from eating certain foods that are spicy, sunlight exposure, alcohol 🍺 and various cosmetic products especially those that contain alcohol, Witch hazel, Menthol, Camphor, Peppermint, Eucalyptus oil, Fragrances, and Propylene glycol. Even though I have done a lot of research web trying to find out what ingredients cause flare ups it’s different for each person. So what I do is when I get a new product I test a small section of my face before i apply the product all over, to see if I have a reaction or not. Cetaphil cleanser is actually one of the products that my Dermatologist recommended for me. It says it’s for all skin types, on the back it even says for even the most sensitive skin. Unfortunately, knowing what I know now I look at the ingredients of products even if they are recommended for me by a dermatologist. Cetaphil contains alcohol which is horrible for people with dry skin or rosacea. I used Cetaphil cleanser for a few weeks I should have stopped after the first week. Being naïve I thought that the The dermatologist wouldn’t recommend a product if she didn’t believe in it and she also wouldn’t recommend something that cause me any more issues. It was one of the worse products I have tried. It felt like it stripped my face from all moisture, it caused dry patches and also caused a bad rosacea flare up.It was so bad I didn’t want to leave my house and putting on foundation or any product to cover it up just made it worse. I made my final appointment with that dermatologist and she then prescribe me doxycycline 100 milligrams twice a day, for a month. My face did clear up after a month of taking doxycycline, and I found a new dermatologist. I gave this product a 1/5 star because I feel like it’s very misleading and not meant for people with sensitive skin as it claims. I would not recommend Cetaphil for people with sensitive skin, dry skin or people with rosacea. If you are suffering with rosacea I would love to know some products that have worked for you. Week 1 of Tretinoin and Spirinolactone Journey
This is the end of my first week going on Spirinolactone (pills for hormonal acne that I take 1x a day) and Tretinoin. This first half is a repeat of last week’s post. The new info will be right below my posted routine. I purchased both treatments from Apostrophe, so they have been prescribed by a dermatologist. My Apostrophe cream formula is 0.025% Tretinoin and 4% Niacinimide. I’ve simplified my routine to only include a gentle cleanser, moisturizer, the tret cream and a sunscreen. I have normal skin. I’m looking to add more in as I adjust to treatment. My routine is as follows: AM Cetaphil - Gentle Skin Cleanser Aveeno - Ultra-Calming Daily Moisturizer SPF 30 PM Cetaphil - Gentle Skin Cleanser CeraVe - Daily Moisturizing Lotion For Normal To Dry Skin Apostrophe formula (using this after moisturizer so I can have a buffer between the tret and my skin) So the morning after my first night of using tret, I experienced a bit of dryness in my forehead and on my nose. The quick fix for me was applying my moisturizer on slightly damp skin, rather than waiting until my skin was completely dry. I started breaking out two nights ago. I woke up with like 8 new friends on my face overnight😫. But this could also have been due to the food I was eating over the past couple of days. I happily enjoyed my tofu scramble with sriracha knowing darn well my dermatologist told me to avoid spicy foods and soy. 🥴 So, I’m cutting off soy, spicy foods, and dairy to see whether the food led to a flare up or if this was an early start to my purge. I’ve got these painful, hard bumps on my forehead and the pimples on my cheeks feel a bit sensitive. But, I’m going to wait it out and see how I feel before I apply tret in a couple of days. I’m still applying tret 3x a week, but plan to move to every other day at the start of August. As for the Spirinolactone, I’ve had to pee waaay more often than I usually do, but so glad I’m confined to my house during time. More updates next week 😊
CeraVe-Daily Moisturizing Lotion For Normal To Dry Skin
opinions on CeraVe ??
So as soon as i started using CeraVe i noticed that a few days after using it i had gotten a few pimples. my best friend's mom said that her brother used to use CeraVe bc he had badddd acne and it'll do that bc it's taking out all of the impurities first. is this true? i really love how moisturizing it is for my dry skin but i also don't want to make my skin worse. i might think that it might've been just my skin adjusting to the new face wash bc i am changing from Biore to CeraVe. so lmk you're honest, down to earth opinions on this product !! :)
