Review my AM routine for acne-prone skin
My current AM routine consists of a mix of products I’ve used for a long time and products I recently started using. I’m noticing improvements with the addition of the new products already, and it’s only been 4-5 days. Here’s the breakdown on each product: Cleanser: Cetaphil - Gentle Skin Cleanser In a previous post I had rated this cleanser a 5/5; however, I recently learned that this product contains several ingredients that are irritants, allergens, hormone disrupters and/or carcinogens. This has knocked my rating down. I have not experienced any negative effects using this cleanser in the past and I have been using it for over 1 year. I am considering looking for an alternative product after what I found in my research. Toner: VERSED - WEEKEND GLOW I recently started using this product and I am happy with the results so far. I am on day 5 currently and I feel like I am seeing brighter skin. I am skeptical of toners and this is the first one I have used in years. So far, so good! Acne treatment: #CVS Health - Targeted acne spot treatment 2.5 % benzoyl peroxide acne medication[products]#[FiveStars] this is a generic version of a product I’ve posted about previously. It’s perfect for spot treatment or all over use in acne-prone areas due to the lower percentage of benzoyl peroxide. This product was recommended by my current dermatologist to treat my acne. It works just as well as the name brand and is less expensive. Serum: The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% I am loving this serum so far! I’m on day 4 and I am noticing improvements in oil production and the appearance of my pores and acne marks already. It can feel a smidge sticky going on but otherwise I have zero complaints with this product! Eye Cream: OLAY - Total Effects Anti-Aging Eye Treatment Eye Transforming Cream I really like this eye cream. I feel like it always brightens up my under eye area and I have relatively few wrinkles and puffiness in the area thanks to this cream. My only complaint is that I wish it was cheaper. Moisturizer: Cetaphil - Facial Hydrating Lotion This is another product that I had rated higher in a previous post. I have been using this moisturizer for over a year and was disappointed when I found out that it contains ingredients that are allergens, irritants and/or hormone disrupters. I’ve never experienced negative effects with this product;however, I’m now considering looking for an affordable alternative. Otherwise, I have always loved this light yet ultra hydrating lotion. Lip moisturizer: Aquaphor - Lip Repair, Stick, Immediate Relief, Fragrance Free, 1 Stick, .17 oz (4.8 g) I love aquaphor! It’s been keeping my lips smooth and moisturized for years. I recently switched from using the ointment to the lip stick and I’m loving it so far. Both work great at keeping my lips hydrated!
Dermatologist recommended acne regimen
Since I hit puberty I have suffered from acne. After years of seeing dermatologists and trying countless prescription and over the counter treatments and products I have settled on the current regimen which keeps my skin 90-95% clear most of the time. Morning Routine Cetaphil - Gentle Skin Cleanser this cleanser has been recommended by the majority of the dermatologists I have seen over the years. It works well, cleaning without over-drying skin. Neutrogena - On-the-Spot Acne Treatment this has a lower percentage of benzoyl peroxide than most other gels and creams which is recommended if you are using other stronger acne treatments in your regimen. Over treating can irritate the skin and end up causing or worsening breakouts. Cetaphil - Facial Hydrating Lotion I love this lotion. It feels lightweight but works really well. It is noncomedogenic and contains hyluronic acid. Aquaphor - Lip Repair, Stick, Immediate Relief, Fragrance Free, 1 Stick, .17 oz (4.8 g) my lips split on the sides from dryness sometimes and aquaphor has always been my go to lip treatment. I apply it in the morning and evening to keep my lips smooth and prevent splitting. Evening Routine Cetaphil - Gentle Skin Cleanser DIFFERIN - Acne Treatment Gel this gel works almost as well as the prescription cream I used to use when I was younger. I wish it was less expensive but it’s worth the cost to have clear skin.
Want Soft Skin? Try Clinique Moisture Surge
Okay, this is my holy grail facial moisturizer that I love using. The consistency is so gel and water-like that it just sinks into the skin right away and does not leave a greasy feeling (which I hate). It’s very light and not super heavy which I personally prefer. My favorite thing is that it works for my sensitive skin, and does not feel harsh or irritating at all. It has a very light fresh scent, nothing overbearing. It leaves a very pleasant cooling feeling on the face and is the perfect item for my dry skin, especially in the Winter time. You can even use it as a face mask if you wanted to and take it off after five minutes. I tend to use it at night, or even before I put on my makeup and it helps in creating a smooth base for me to work with. Love this! CLINIQUE - Moisture Surge 72-Hour Auto-Replenishing Hydrator

This is my second jar of Clinique moisture surge. I am not an expert by any means but I have used many different facial care products. I even used Meaningful Beauty for a while but the systems was quite complex for a busy mom. Any way back to this gel cream! A sample was given to me a while ago and by far this is my go to moisturizer period. It’s so light and quenching. It lasts quite a while because a little goes a long way. Most moisturizers break my skin out but this one is my perfect blend. Obviously not everyone’s skin is the same and it is possible that some have tried this and it didn’t work for them. But I am in my thirties and have LOTS of hormonal changes going on in my skin and I have dry to normal skin as well. This gel cream really does the trick for me. It is a little pricey at 78$ for the full size jar, but most beauty stores that carry the brand like Ulta and Sephora, CLINIQUE - Moisture Surge 72-Hour Auto-Replenishing Hydrator have multiple size options and even the trial size lasts a good while for its size. This product gets 5 stars from me because I don’t see myself changing any time soon!

Goat milk moisturizer?! 🐐💓
This moisturizer is the perfect moisturizer for people with dry skin in the summertime. It is lightweight but has the moisturizing power of a cream. I have normal-dry skin and this moisturizer is perfect! It is moisturizing enough for my dry areas but not too heavy for the hot weather. It absorbs so well into skin and the container is just a beautiful color! It is around $50, so a normal price for a higher end moisturizer. It works really well with my skin and does not clog my pores, I absolutely recommend this moisturizer!!

Jade roller and Neutrogena Bright Boost 🙌🏾
Jade roller and Neutrogena Bright Boost if you like 5 minutes of luxury in the morning #momlife I can’t say enough good things about these Neutrogena moisturizers! They make my skin so supple and bright, who doesn’t want that?! Trust me on this, you’ll love them!
Dramatically Different JELLY 🍇🍯
I have always been a fan of Clinique’s “Dramatically Different” line of skincare, so I was very excited to try out this jelly from the same line! My skin is normal to dry and can be a bit sensitive. I like the texture of this a lot more than Clinique’s other moisturizers from the same line! I find it to be lighter and better absorbed into my skin. While I do like it, this is a pretty run-of-the-mill moisturizer in my opinion. It’s not too heavy, not too light. I tend to lean toward brands with more of an aesthetic, so I probably will not purchase this product again. But if you think you want to try it, definitely give it a go!
