šWhy I multi-mask š
Mrs_S_Denunzio
First let me say, not all areas of your face need the same type of care, and attention. For me, my chin has broke out bad this week thanks to Aunt Flo. Anyway I needed a detox for my chin, while the rest of my face didnāt really need much, but I have dark spots Iām targeting with The Ordinary chemical peel. If I felt like my T-zone was oily or a little dry, I would have used 3 masks. The key is to listen to your skin! Normally Iād just use one mask, but my chin really needed something targeted for detox. Since I donāt have sensitive skin I left them on for 10 minutes before washing off. If you have sensitive skin use for 5 minutes, and always so a small patch test to make sure you wonāt react. Also they make an acid neutralizer, that would be handy to have as a just Incase.
Second, I use a calming face serum after. It really helps with any redness that might occurs from the masks (mind you redness is normal, just make sure that you use sunscreen because your skin will be more sensitive to sun) then i follow up with a vitamin C serum then I finish off with sunscreen. When I do a mask like this I really try to keep the after care simple, yet replenishing, and protecting.
These are the products I used and why I choose them.
First I wash, I double cleansed this time. I used youthificarion face wash, then the CeraVe - Acne Foaming Cream Cleanser

Reviewing My Followers Skincare Routines pt. 4
Hey yaāll! In part 4 of Reviewing My Followers Skincare Routines weāre reviewing @Raks and @juliachristineās skincare routines.
Starting with @Rakswho reached out to me via Cherie message because she started skincare about a year ago because of her upcoming wedding.
She starts by cleansing with theThursday Plantation - Tea Tree Face Wash Foam which costs $8.99 for 5.1 fl oz. This cleanser is very basic. It has tea tree oil, and eucalyptus oil. My issue is with the eucalyptus oil, which is a very irritating essential oil right up there with lemon oil and peppermint oil. If this doesnāt irritate your skin then itās a great cleanser, but I canāt recommend it to those with sensitive skin.
Then she goes in with 4 serums. First is thepura d'or - 20% Vitamin C Serum which costs $14.99 for 4 fl oz. This is a really good serum. It has aloe vera juice, glycerin, jojoba oil, and argan oil which are hydrating ingredients, and then it has hylaronic acid, retinol, and Vitamin C. I love it!
Then she uses#The Ordinary - Nicinamide Serum[products]#[FiveStars] which costs $5.90 for 1 fl oz. Weāve talked a lot about this serum, itās very good. Next is the#Tree Of Life - Hylaronic acid serum[products]#[TwoStars] which costs $10.95 for 1 fl oz. I donāt like this serum. It started off good with hylaronic acid, aloe vera juice, Vitamin E, and Vitamin C, but it contains way too many Essential oils and irritating extracts.
And her final serum is theSkinMedica - LYTERA 2.0 Pigment Correcting Serum which costs $130.90 for 2 fl oz, which is very expensive. This is not worth the price. It has nicinamide and glycerin, and then some not very researched acids. I donāt recommend continuing use of this serum.
Then to moisturize she goes in with theOLAY - Regenerist Regenerating Day Cream which costs $29.99 for 1.7 fl oz. I donāt like this moisturizer. Letās start with some positives. It has nicinamide, glycerin, and Vitamin B3. Now it has a lot of bad ingredients also. It has Sodium Laureth Sulfate, which is a harsh cleansing agent, as well as fragrance being the 6th ingredient.
The she uses a Neutrogena sunscreen, and occasionally usesThe Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution which costs $7.20 for 1 fl oz. This is a great exfoliant.
I think @Raks is using too many serums. I would stick to only the Pura Dāor and The Ordinary serum, and ditch the other two. Keep the cleanser, and maybe try a different moisturizer.
You asked for mineral sunscreen reccomendations for dark skin tones that donāt have a white cast, so I got you girl! I have light skin, but I did some research and Iād recommend the#First Aid Beauty - Weightless Mineral SPF 30[products]#[FiveStars] which costs $34 for 1.5 fl oz, and the #Biossance - Squalane Zinc Sheer SPF 30[products]#[FiveStars] which costs $30 for 1.7 fl oz. Both of these have minimal white cast, and Skincare by Hyram recommends them.
Next is @juliachristineās night routine. She starts off by cleansing with the #Vanicream - Unscented Gentle Cleanser[products]#[ThreeStars] witch costs $8.99 for 8 fl oz. This a nice basic cleanser with glycerin.
Next she uses the#OBAGI - Tretinoin 0.025% Cream[products]#[TwoStars] which costs $84 for .7 fl oz. This cream has tretinoin which is a Vitamin A derivative which can treat acne, as well as retinol which also Vitamin A. I donāt think itās worth the price, but itās okay.
Next she uses the #The Ordinary - Azelaic Acid Suspension 10%[products]#[FourStars] which costs $7.99 for 1 fl oz. Along with azelaic acid, it has dimethicone which is a great moisturizer for dry skin.
Next she uses theCeraVe - Daily Moisturizing Lotion For Normal To Dry Skin which costs $17.99 for 15 fl oz. Yāall know I love this product!
Finally she finishes off with theVERSED - ZERO-G Smoothing Eye Cream witch costs $17.99 for .5 fl oz. Eye cream is definitely not necessary but this one is great! It has glycerin, algae extract, and olive oil which are hydrating, along with shea butter and a blend of peptides which can help firm the skin and increase collagen production which can help reduce fine lines around the eyes.
Overall @juliachristine your routine looks great! Thatās it for this post please cheer for this post if you liked it, comment your opinions on these products, and follow me for similar content. Upcoming posts include a 1 month Curology review and unnecessary skincare steps you donāt need.

Tips from a derm for exercise induced acne
With a new year comes resolutions, many involving healthier lifestyles and exercise. So why let exercise induced acne hold you back from achieving these healthier choices. Exercising can cause excessive sweating-leading to increased oils, dirt, friction, and even bacteria on your skin leading to acne.
This can manifest as facial or truncal acne (think backne), often known as acne mechanica or folliculitis.
Cleansing properly is incredibly important for preventing exercise induced acne. Itās important to remove all makeup prior to working out. Gently shower with lukewarm water immediately after sweating. If a shower is not available, reach for a cleansing wipe.
Clean, loose-fitting moisture wicking attire is key. This helps prevent friction and additional bacteria and sweat from dirty clothing. In addition to wiping down all gym equipment, donāt forget about the stuff that hits your skin regularly such as headphones, watches, and headbands.
Most importantly, donāt forget sunscreen and gentle moisturizers.

One empty one newbie
Got my new YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - 15% Vitamin C + Clean Caffeine Energy Serum the other day and just in time- my OLE HENRIKSEN - Banana Bright Vitamin C Serum just finished.
So far Iām LOVING YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - 15% Vitamin C + Clean Caffeine Energy Serum I think moreso than the OLE HENRIKSEN - Banana Bright Vitamin C Serum .
I like the formula of the YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - 15% Vitamin C + Clean Caffeine Energy Serum more and the iverall experience. It has a ginger scent in it which is highly invigorating, so great for my mornings. I love the watery texture it comes in and love the caffeine in it too. Caffeine is known to be great for de-puffing and overall smoothing and skin-texture improving, and I love my first impressions of the depuffing/decongestion with the caffeine. Totally feel like this was made for my mornings.
OLE HENRIKSEN - Banana Bright Vitamin C Serum has a creamier formula, which I dont prefer, but it does smooth out to a flawless, non-tacky finish. The banana bright formula has a banana powder that instantly brightens the skin, but its like coloured skincare rather than longterm skincare. It does work, but its not long lasting. I do really love that formula in eye cream though š my eyes can always use a wake up call.
All in all I think Iām definitely gonna like the YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - 15% Vitamin C + Clean Caffeine Energy Serum more!

Current morning & night routine āļøš
Hey beauties! I wanted to share my current skin routine for morning & night, since I've updated it with some new products that I'm enjoying and it's been working for me. Hope it works for you too! :)
āļøMorning:
1. I typically don't wash my face since all I did was sleep and I do this routine pretty soon after I wake up. So the first step is really to use almost a whole pump of OLE HENRIKSEN - Banana Bright Vitamin C Serum on my whole face
2. Then I use about a dime sized amount of myKiehl's - Ultra Facial Cream
3. Glossier. - Balm Dotcom goes on my lips - I prefer either fig, birthday, berry or coconut
4. Volia! That's easy :)
šEvening:
1. Cleanse my face in the shower using a half pump of YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Superfood Antioxidant Cleanser
2. After my shower, I sometimes use my facial roller (it's SEPHORA COLLECTION - Rose Quartz Facial Rollerand Idk what to rate it as since it's the only one I have)
3. Next is the serum - depending on what's the issue; if it's acne:Glossier. - Solution Exfoliating Skin Perfector, redness and/or irritation: Glossier. - Super Pure Niacinamide + Zinc Serum, or just feels ok / needs a little something to smooth out or be more hydrated: TATCHA - The Dewy Serum Resurfacing and Plumping Treatment
4. If I want to use an eye cream, I go with the Ole Henriksen banana bright eye creme from this set: OLE HENRIKSEN - Let's Get Luminous Brightening Essentials Set it's a half size one and the set is only $40
5. Glossier. - Balm Dotcom again because it's hydrating enough for me (yes my lips do get dry since they're a little chapped when I wake up, but I don't think I necessarily need a lip mask)
6. Of course, the last step is a facial spray, and it's always my AvĆØne - Thermal Spring Water Spraybc I can't live without it.
In case you're curious, the total price for my routine is $363!! (that includes all the products I mentioned) š¤Æ

THE ORDINARY HAUL UPDATE
the products I have purchased have been amazing, I'm absolutely in love
my morning routine now is
cleanse with squalaneThe Ordinary - Squalane Cleanser
apply TO The Ordinary - Amino Acids + B5
then moisturize with CeraVe - CeraVe Moisturising Cream
and what I forgot to put in my first post, I finish off with sun bum - Face Lotion SPF 50
before my makeup
evening, cleanse again, use the The Ordinary - Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution(please don't use if you have sensitive skin) my skin is used to retinoids from previous attempts at fixing my skin, and this product leaves me feeling clean, but sensitive skin can have a very different reaction
then I mix together The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5withThe Ordinary - 100% Niacinamide Powder
it comes with a little scoop and I use the recommended 1/4 scoop mixed with the hyaluronic acid.
then I use the same moisturizer
Now let's talk about my thoughts! I love the cleanser, it leaves me smooth, not dry, not right, but I feel super clean like the days dirt is just gone which is fantastic. the purge process has definitely started, but I just use acne patches and the purge so far isn't that bad.
mixing the niacinamide with hyaluronic has been fantastic for me! I never liked the niacinamide with zinc, the zinc irritated my skin and I would get these pustules along my jaw bone which haven't made an appearance since I switched, so it was definitely the zinc.
the amino acid serum, this one I'm conflicted. it has helped in preventing breakouts while wearing makeup, but it's so watery I would've preferred if it came in a spray bottle for easier application. not sure if I'd repurchase the hyaluronic could probably do what it's been doing to my skin.
and the toner! arguably the most controversial of these products. this has helped brighten my skin so far, and my pores look so much smaller! that's probably the hydrating products I've been using, but I also haven't gotten blackheads clogging said pores either so I think it's a bit of both!
I'm curious to see how effective this routine will be during my more hormonal days, I will continue to update!

Clay Hair Mask
HOW TO MAKE:
ļæ¼2 Tbs of Aztec clay powder and 2 Tbs of Organic Apple Cider Vinegar
AZTEC SECRET - Indian Healing Clay
HOW TO PUT ON:
ļæ¼Wet hair
ļæ¼Divide hair into sections
ļæ¼Comb clay mixture into hair with fingers
ļæ¼Leave on for 30 minutes
HOW TO WASH OUT:
ļæ¼Start off with cold water then transition to slightly warmer water
MY THOUGHTS:
ļæ¼My hair definitely felt clean and my curls felt soft; however, I didnāt get as much curl definition as I was hoping for.
Any tips for more curl definitions? What other ingredients have you added to hair clay mixtures?

oily skin & donāt know how to manage? I got you
this post is for all the people who have oily skin and sometimes just donāt know how to deal with it! well iām here for some tips!
I have oily/combo skin and Iāve learnt some important info during my skincare journey that I would love to share with you all š¤
1. still moisturise
ļæ¼it is super important for people with oily skin to keep up with moisturising ! you may think that your skin is hydrated and doesnāt need any extra moisture, but it still really does. if you donāt moisturise, or use products to keep your skin hydrated, your skin can overcompensate with releasing itās natural oils, which in hand, can make your skin more oily
2. donāt be afraid of oils
ļæ¼whether this is oil cleansing or any certain type of oil (rosehip, squalane etc), donāt be hesitant to use these products just because of your skin type. for me, oils have made a huge difference to my skin, especially oil cleansing! one thing to remember with oil cleansing, is that oils attract oils, and therefore are oil soluble. products like this help to get rid of grease, blackheads etc and can be great for oily skin!
3. use products targeted for oily skin
ļæ¼I know that this one is quite self explanatory, but here are some products that helped my oily skin become more manageable!
- niacinamide. this ingredient is amazing for oily skin ! it helps to decrease oil production from within the skin. my fav product is NATURIUM - Niacinamide Serum 12% Plus Zinc 2% , but I also donāt mind The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%
-exfoliation. now with this I donāt mean physical exfoliation, but chemical exfoliation! my favourite exfoliant has to be PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliator this one is my HOLY GRAIL product of them all ! I have many posts on this product so be sure to check those out for an in depth description.
- clay face masks. these are good for absorbing oil and giving your face a matte finish. some of my favs are PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Balancing Oil-Absorbing Mask
AZTEC SECRET - Indian Healing Clay
I hope this helps and if you have any questions, feel free to comment šš„°

Please help!
Hi everyone! Iāve been trying to work on my skin for the last year but I havenāt seen many results. Iāll share my current routine and I would love any advice you have to offer. Thank you!!
In the morning I just wash my face with water and at night I use the Simple - Kind to Skin Moisturizing Facial Wash. Iāve used the Cerave SA cleanser in the past but it dried out and irritated my skin to the point where it was painful, which is why I switched to this one.
I use The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%morning and night right after rinsing my face.
I use The Ordinary - Azelaic Acid Suspension 10%at night, right after the niacinamide.
I use theCetaphil - Cetaphil Moisturizing Lotionmorning and night.
I use the The Ordinary - 100% Plant-Derived Hemi-Squalaneat night for added moisture
I use theAveeno - Sensitive Skin Mineral Sunscreen SPF 50in the mornings- but it leaves a white cast so if anyone has any POC-friendly mineral sunscreen recs send them my way š„ŗ
I use The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solutiononce a week for five minutes- I used to use it every 5 days for ten minutes but I heard that can worsen hyperpigmentation for POC so I cut back.
I own The Ordinary Lactic Acid in 5% but I havenāt used it yet since Iām waiting to see whether or not I feel the Azelaic Acid is helping.
This is my current routine- I am open to any and all advice as I am desperate at this point.

NIGHT ROUTINE š

The Ordinary - 100% Plant-Derived Squalane
BURTāS BEES - Lip Balm with Vitamin E & Peppermint
WEEKLY MASK
The Ordinary - Salicylic Acid 2% Masque
I have been using PCA skin - BPO 5% Cleanser for over a year and have been absolutely loving it for keeping my skin clear. I recently added The Ordinaryās products into my routine as well as a daily spf and my skin has truly never looked better. If you suffer from acne, dark spots and dull skin- I highly suggest this routine ā¤ļø
** Also, when using Vitamin C (such as The Ordinary - Ascorbic Acid 8% + Alpha Arbutin 2% ) I chose to moisturize with the Squalane because any water in products will neutralize the Vitamin C and stop it from working on your skin, so always make sure to use a moisturizer/ oil / serum with no form of water on the ingredient list while using a vitamin C product! :)

A decade of struggle
I have struggled with my acne for a decade now and have have been up and down the rollercoaster of good and bad skin. I never was able to find something to keep the acne away. I tried every product, every wash, every zit cream, and medication; to no avail.
Today I woke up with out a single pimple and that hasnāt happened in years!
I know my skin still has a long way to go but I am so happy with where it is today. The bottom pictures are my face this morning with no filtering or facetune and I am thrilled! I think I am finally on the road to figuring out what is right for my face!
I just wanted to share in my happiness today and document it, in case it doesnāt last š
These are some of the products I use but everyoneās face is different so it may not work for everyone! Also I donāt use all these products everyday so read directions and be careful!

My skincare routine for clogged pores
Growing up Iāve struggled a lot with my skin. Even when I finally stopped getting pimples I struggled with clogged pores which I was worse because every time I used makeup it was very visible. I kept using a LOT of skincare products hoping something would help but it just made things worse. SO I completely got rid of everything I was using and just started with Kiehlās Kiehl's - Midnight Recovery Concentrate Kiehl's - Ultra Facial Cream Kiehl's - Calendula Deep Clean Foaming Face Wash and Kiehl's - Ultra Facial Overnight Hydrating Mask which completely changed my skin for the better. I really struggled to find a moisturizer that didnāt give me clogged pores and this one really made a dramatic difference to my skin. I also use the KYPRIS - ANTIOXIDANT DEW as my serum sometimes and it leave my skin really soft and glowing. Now I started adding the ordinary skincare products to my routine and itās been helping my skin a lot. I use the The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% for my pores and I also lovee The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 and use it everyday to keep my skin healthy looking. Sometimes I use The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution or The Ordinary - Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution I donāt use it too often (twice a week) because these products a little too strong for me. I also started adding The Ordinary - Alpha Arbutin 2% + HA to my skincare routine to help with my pigmentations. I use The Ordinary - Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG sometimes under my eyes but I didnāt see any difference. And since I have darker skin tone most sunscreen leave a very bad white cast on my skin and Iāve been loving PURITO - Centella Green Level Unscented Sun SPF50+ it feels like a moisturizer and the ingredients are really good!! Hope this helps anyone thatās struggling with clogged pores like me.

Blemishes + Dry Skin
Hi! My main concerns are blemishes and dark spots, I have very dry skin so my breakouts are worse in the winter. I have large pores and I usually get pimples on my cheeks and forehead. I noticed that my forehead is also drier and my chin is darker than the rest of my face. Right now, my skincare routine only consists of cleanser, moisturizer, and micellar water. I only wash my face once a day (at night) since it gets flaky when I wash it twice, I use the Cetaphil Gentle Cleanser which is effective for my skin. In the morning, I only use the Garnier Rose Micellar Water.
I am looking for an alternative to my Pondās dry skin cream since itās oily and clogs my face. I am also thinking of trying The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% + Zinc and The Ordinary Squalane Oil. Any thoughts? Thanks!!
