self care is everything!!! beauty is my name 💕☺️ velvetbeautybrand!!!!
First impression!!! The ordinary salicylic mask.
Well today was my first time using and it went on smooth. I’m working on clearing up my hormonal acne and it was non irritating. The directions said to keep on 10 minutes max so that what I did. It didn’t strip my skin after rinsing. After that I went in with my vitamin c, moisturizer, then my spf. After I apply it a few times I will give you guys my thoughts on the product but so far I think I’m going to like it. Also this product was recommended by a doctor v that specializes in hyperpigmentation for skin of color. She is very popular. Y’all should check her out on you tube she go over different brands and what the ingredients do for your skin.
This is very stressful!!! I’ve been to a dermatologist and it was diagnosed as hormonal and yeast. Since I’m still breastfeeding there not a lot I can do. She did tell me use sulfur soap and at night I’m targeting my acne with azelaic acid by the ordinary and a few other actives. I’ve switched up my routine a few times but I think I’ve finally found one that going to get this under control. I’m staying positive and I’m currently on day 5 and my skin is looking so better so patience is key. Once I get this under control I will be posting my acne routine. I’ve been taking taking pictures daily to record my progress. Again my fave has never been out of control like this so it’s a little difficult for me. My skin is everything!!!
Makeup in 45 minutes!!! 💃🏼💃🏼💃🏼
Yes I do have a filter on this picture but even without my skin had natural look. I got this free sample for my birthday at Sephora. So i watch a lot of dermatologist on you tube and my favorite is Doctor V. I love how she really break down the ingredients in products and explain why we shouldn’t be using them and what they do to our skin. She had one on makeup which I found a lot of makeups we wear have the ingredient talc I think I spelled it right. She explains why it’s not good so I will definitely be paying attention to ingredients more with makeup. I didn’t keep this foundation on long but I didn’t get oily normally I see a shine like after two hours but this time it didn’t happen. It very light weight and gives you a natural look. Also it an spf 50, uav and uvb. The lipstick I have is by maybelline and I think it’s scarlet red but this been my go to red lip because it’s very vibrant.
Wigs are fun too!!!
I love wearing wigs because you can just get up and go. Tou can do a lot with them. So if you’re having a lazy day throw on a wig. Also this is my first time coloring a wig.
Moisturize for days!!!

My 4 week skin journey fight acne
* I hate sharing photos of myself especially without makeup. But I wanted to share my story and show you the progress. It doesn’t look like much, but I can see and feel the difference. So maybe my skincare routine can help someone like me (aging skin and hormonal acne) I am 44 years old and still fighting this battle. Funny thing is, I didn’t have skin issues when I was a teen. I’d get pimple here and there but nothing like this. I seen a change in my skin mid summer. The breakouts just kept on coming. Which is frustrating because the old ones were still lingering. By summers end, I decided I need to change up my entire skincare regimen. Thanks to TikTok, Instagram and Cherie, I was able to do some research. I took notes and literally did a lot of reading. (I tried to make a dermatologist appointment but unfortunately I wouldn’t be able to be seen until next year.) One thing I learned was about layering products correctly. I had no idea that some products didn’t mix well with others which can cause the products to cancel one another out. Leading to more breakouts. I began researching all my ingredients in all my products. To say the least, I threw out a lot of junk and started over. Here are two websites I use to check ingredients and makup http://cosdna.com/eng/ingredients http://m.checkcosmetic.net My Extras: I use the Ordinary peeling solution twice a week (waiting at least 4 days in between) and wow what an amazing product. You really can see results overnight. I use the peeling solution in the pm. When I do this, I change up my pm routine. I still double cleanse to remove all makeup. I apply the solution for 10 minutes, rinse and hydrate with hydro boost. I keep it super simple so my skin isn’t overwhelmed. Acne patches are the bomb. They are great for pimples that are very surfaced. These patches will do the rest. They suck out all that junk leaving you with a flat healing pimple. When I removed the patch’s the next morning, I apply the rescue balm. I don’t even cleanse first. I just apply it and let it sit for a few hours before I begin my am routine. I also will use Mario badescu drying solution on those big pimples that hurt. I only use this when I’m desperate. Usually the pimple patches do the job. But sometimes I need to change it up to get a better result. HUM daily cleanse: I seen this advertised and decided to look into it and give it a try. Take two pills once daily and that’s it. I only took one pill for the first two weeks. It recommends this if your body purges. I didn’t want to take any chances and have another purge. I am now on two pills daily and so far so good. This supplement is supposed to cleanse you from the inside out. I will give another update once I finish this bottle. Zinc Sulfate: it’s an acne life changer. Read about it! To my surprise, zinc Sulfate was a bit hard to find. There are many products out there that contain zinc, but not zinc sulfate. So make sure you look at the ingredient
🧪𝐅𝐚𝐯𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐀𝐧𝐭𝐢-𝐀𝐜𝐧𝐞 𝐈𝐧𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬🧪 𝐓𝐫𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐨𝐢𝐧 - patience is what you need if you want this ingredient to do wonders for your skin. great for acne and anti-aging - surely will be my bestfriend for a long time. although I think it doesn’t do much for my pigmentations, this has improved the texture of my skin tremendously. ~ 𝐫𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐨-𝐀, 𝐜𝐮𝐫𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐲 𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐮𝐥𝐚, 𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐥𝐮𝐦𝐚 𝟎.𝟓% 𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐭 𝐙𝐢𝐧𝐜 - the underrated one. I’ve always loved zinc for my scalp. I use it for my hairline, it’s an awesome ingredient for seborrheic dermatitis (self diagnosed😅) When I learned about malassezia folliculitis (fungal acne) and I was positive I had it, I tried Zinc for my face and it totally got rid of the pustules/whiteheads. I use it in the morning while in the shower, lather and leave it for 5-10mins on the face then rinse off. Give it a week of two to do its magic. ~ 𝐕𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐦 𝐙 𝐁𝐚𝐫, 𝐓𝐎 𝐍𝐢𝐚𝐜𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐝𝐞+𝐙𝐢𝐧𝐜 𝐒𝐮𝐥𝐟𝐮𝐫 - I don’t see this a lot in cosmeceutical products but it’s one amazing ingredient. Just found my lost ointment not long ago. Sulfur is antibacterial and anti-inflammatory. It’s great on absorbing excess oil too. Leave it on affected area and rinse off after 10mins. I usually use it once, but if the acne is stubborn I would use it again the next day. Sulfur speeds up the process of healing the skin. ❗️sulfur can burn the skin and you can end up with dark marks, never leave it on for more than 10mins. ~ 𝐬𝐮𝐥𝐟𝐮𝐫 𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 (𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐳𝐢𝐧𝐜 𝐨𝐱𝐢𝐝𝐞, 𝐒𝐀) 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘨𝘰𝘰𝘥 𝘰𝘭𝘥 𝘰𝘯𝘦𝘴: 𝐒𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐲𝐥𝐢𝐜 𝐀𝐜𝐢𝐝 - excellent pore-clearing/exfoliant especially for acne prone skin 𝐍𝐢𝐚𝐜𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐝𝐞 - reduces inflammation 𝘮𝘺 𝘤𝘶𝘳𝘰𝘭𝘰𝘨𝘺 𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘮𝘶𝘭𝘢: tretinoin 0.018% 𝐂𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐦𝐲𝐜𝐢𝐧 -antibiotic, reduces bacteria and swelling (not for long term use) 𝐀𝐳𝐞𝐥𝐚𝐢𝐜 𝐀𝐜𝐢𝐝 - anti-inflammatory , also great for rosacea sufferers

How I fixed my skin 😇
So I know my skin still isn’t perfect (is anyone’s skin perfect tho??) but it looks a lot better!!!! I went to many dermatologists who never told me I had fungal acne 😒 they always recommended creams and stuff that just dried out my skin more but didn’t help! So one day I googled “it feels like there are rocks in my skin” and I figured out that i had fungal acne 😝 I didn’t even know there were different types of acne!! Right away I started using Nizoral - Anti Dandruff Shampoo which helped a lot but didn’t solve the problem Then recently I learnt about a website you can use to test ingredients to see if they are fungal acne safe! Website: folliculitisscout.com I tested all my skin care and gave my mom any products that had triggers! I SWITCHED UP MY ENTIRE SKIN CARE ROUTINE and it was worth it 🙌🏼 I used that website ^ to help me find the right products for my skin which I posted in the photos! I’ve also reviewed them all in individual posts! 🥳 I hope this helps somebody 🥰 I’ve had bad skin since I was like 12 years old and now I’m 22 and just learnt how to fix it! Also my last post was about a homemade mask I made with just honey and oat flour and my skin has been feeling amazing because of it so I also recommend trying that 💖

EASY changes to improve acne!!
Treating acne can be quite complex and confusing wondering what products to use for your skin, however there are some simple changes a person can make to help improve their acne. Just these simple adjustments in a routine can make a difference in inflammation and irritation in your acne. The first change to help improve acne is to keep your routine simple. It is super tempting to want to add all the products targeted towards treating acne and try to get rid of it overnight. Sadly many of these products do more harm than good to your skin, can irritate it or cause more acne in the process. What does keeping your routine simple mean? This means cleansing, using a toner, moisturizer, sunscreen and a targeted treatment to help treat any acne on the face. Less is more when it comes to treating acne, because topical ingredients can be irritating to the skin causing dryness or flaking. Pimple patches also known as hydrocolloid bandages have been used for years in the medical field, for injuries and to help aid in wound healing. Acne is a type of wound which is a great reason to use the bandages on them, specifically on white heads, pustules and cysts. Patches come in a variety of shapes and sizes. Some patches now include micro points with targeted ingredients for brightening and acne too. One of the more common BHAs to treat acne is Salicylic acid or Willow Bark Extract. There are some other star ingredients that work to treat acne like sulphur, zinc oxide, benzoyl peroxide and azealic acid. Sulphur is not a common ingredient due to the smell, but it treats acne by absorbing excess sebum (oil), exfoliates and antibacterial properties. Zinc oxide is an antioxidant most commonly found in mineral/physical sunscreens but has anti-inflammatory properties, making it perfect to use for inflamed or acneic skin. Benzoyl Peroxide works by killing bacteria, increases cell turnover in the skin, absorbing excess sebum in the skin, and making it perfect for all the types of acne (whiteheads, blackheads, cysts, pustules and papules). While benzoyl peroxide is amazing for treating acne it can be drying and/or irritating on the skin if overused so it is important to remember this. Lastly azelaic acid, an ingredient that isn’t quite as popular but packs a punch, by reducing inflammation in the skin, as well as it exfoliates and helps with uneven skin tone. The highest percentage you can find without a prescription is 10%, which is just as effective in treatment of acne. #CheriePartner

Bluelight glasses and 5 other at-home-work tips
I have been working from home for about three years and I love it. I realize some people will have to take time to adjust, but I wanted to give a few tips on how to get the most from working at home. 1. Carve out a work area so your home doesn’t feel like your workplace is infiltrating your safe space. 2. Get up and walk around much as you can. Stretching is a must. Yoga is a bonus. Humans aren’t meant to sit in one position for 8 to 10 hours. My chiropractor tells me that all of the time. 4. Invest in a pair of blue light glasses. I purchased #Sojos - Cat Eye Blue Light Blocking Glasses Hipster Metal Frame[products]#from Amazon for about $20. Blue light is emitted from your TV, smartphone, laptop, desktop, tablet and video games. THAT IS A LOT. Blue light causes eye strain, dry eyes, blurred vision, headaches, and neck, shoulder and back pain. The blue light exposure we get from our devices is a part of the same “visible light spectrum and is emitted by the sun.” Call me crazy, but maybe we combat all of that. 5. TAKE YOUR BREAK. It can be easy to forget to do it, but you need to. 6. When you clock out, clock out! I hope this helped. Let me know, what you have done to make yourself more productive while working at home.
Over-The-Counter Acne Treatment 101: Esthetician's Guide
Many of us have found ourselves in the same position: It’s time to revamp your skincare routine or simply replace one of your holy grails. You watch a couple of youtube videos, read some product reviews, and you feel ready to take on the drugstore. But as soon as you arrive, you find yourself overwhelmed by all of the choices in the skincare aisle. Suddenly, the acne cream you were set on is being overshadowed by the appeal of a similar product from a different brand. The only concern? They have two very different active ingredients.
