Jane Gee Beauty Oil
#JaneGee - Beauty Oil[products]#[FiveStars] Over the weekend, I was getting a facial and the esthetician noticed that my face was really red, dry, and inflamed. I told her I have rosacea and just generally dry perky skin and she told me I needed to do a few things: 1. Don’t use anything with citrus in it 2. Don’t use any sort of scrub or exfoliants for a while 3. Don’t use Vitamin C for a while 4. Rose hip oil is my friend (anti inflammatory properties) 5. Use an oil or milky cleanser rather than a foam, cream, or gel cleanser 6. Simplify my skincare routine for the time being And finally 7. Use this Jane Gee Beauty Oil as my moisturizer, which she gave me a pretty generous sized free sample of to take home and try out. My face has been significantly less red and irritated since I started using this, and she taught me I need to be a lot more careful of ingredients in my skin care until I can see a dermatologist to find out if I’m allergic or sensitive to any specific ingredients. I normally don’t like the feeling of oils on my face but this one absorbs quickly and doesn’t leave my skin feeling dry even though I’m not putting on a traditional cream or gel moisturizer. This is amazing and I 100% recommend for people with a similar skin type as me. Jane Gee is a small company based in my hometown so this is also a great way for me to support my local business! Here is what the website says about this product: “This beautiful blend of natural oils and herbs soothes, hydrates, and repairs the skin. It is readily absorbed, leaving your skin feeling soft and silky smooth. This multi purpose body oil can be used all over the body for hydration and on your face as a daily moisturizer. Great for sensitive skin, and skin with acne or congestion. Tip: Use on sun-kissed skin to relieve sunburn. Directions: For your face, massage in a small amount of Beauty Oil after cleansing. Repeat morning and night. For your body, apply Beauty Oil to dry areas, pay particular attention to elbows and heels. Repeat as needed. Size: 4 fl oz (118 ml) Ingredients: Shea Nut (Butyrospermum Parkii) Oil*, Coconut Medium Chain Triglyceride (Caprylic/ Capric Triglyceride) Oil*, Jojoba (Simmondsia Chinensis) Seed Oil*, Sunflower (Helianthus Annus) Seed Oil*, Calendula (Calendula Officinalis) Flower, Hemp (Cannabis Sativa) Seed Oil*, White Turmeric (Curcuma Zedoaria), Devil’s Claw (Harpagophytum Procumbens) Root, Vitamin E (Tocopherol).”
Help! I’m allergic to something in my skincare!
Hi! So I have very sensitive skin and I’ve been trying the CeraVe - CeraVe Moisturising Cream for a few months now, and at first my skin was fine with it but now it burns whenever I use it. So I went out and I got the #It’s Skin - Hydra Routine Moisturizer[products]#which I’ve also been reacting to. So then I picked up the It°S SKIN - Tiger Cica Gel Cream which I don’t react to and absolutely love (highlighted in blue). I don’t think I’m allergic to water or glycerin or any of the blue highlighter products, and I’m terrible at knowing which ingredients are good or bad. Does anyone recognize any of the ones that could be irritating? All my serums have been fine but when I put on those two moisturizers it burns. Any help would be awesome! I also have very dry sensitive skin (very mild rosacea but I need to go back to my dermatologist to see if that’s true or not, I don’t think that’s what I have but when I was 19 a doctor told me I had it).

It’s Skin Tiger Cica Calming Line
It°S SKIN - Tiger Cica Calming Water It°S SKIN - Tiger Cica Calming Serum It°S SKIN - Tiger Cica Gel Cream I’m not sure what I did over the weekend but my skin has been bright red all week until I tried the It’s Skin Tiger Cica Gel Cream. This stuff brought my redness down a toooooon, and it was $7 on sale at Bed Bath and Beyone, so obviously I had to try more from the line! The only reason I didn’t get the cleanser is because I have so many right now that I need to go through. These brought my redness down in a couple days, which is awesome! I used the calming water at night because that’s when my skin is most irritated and the cream in the mornings. The serum I used both morning and night. I definitely recommend these products and if you live near a Bed Bath and Beyond, definitely go to the skincare cleanse section! I’m going to buy more of this brand hopefully soon.

Slugging with Aquaphor Healing Ointment!
Aquaphor - Aquaphor Healing Ointment Ok guys, I’ve heard about this a lot and my skin is so darn dry that no moisturizer lasts overnight. My skin ends up extremely dry and flaky and red the next morning and nothing is helping me heal or improve my skin. Everything I’ve tried kind of just helps short term and is good in the moment, bust still wears over time, so I’m going to try slugging! What is slugging? I wasn’t sure, so I googled what it really was and Byrdie said, “Slugging is a K-Beauty skincare trend which includes coating your face in petrolatum or Vaseline. This prevents transepidermal water loss and keeps moisture in your skin.“ This sounds like it would be worth a try, I am a side and tummy sleeper so I’m hoping that it doesn’t get all over my pillow. I’m only putting the Aquaphor on my chin area because that’s the only area where I feel I need it. I’ll keep updating as I keep doing it, but I’m really hoping this saves my skin! *morning of day 1: it worked! I just woke up and looked in the mirror and I didn’t see any flakiness!!!! I’m gonna keep trying it for a few days to see if I can really get that patch permanently fixed, I’m so excited! I’ve had that darn thing for years in the winter. *morning of day 3: WOW MY SKIN IS SMOOOOOOOTH AND SO NOT DRY! The only annoying thing is trying not to get it on my pillow since I’m a side/tummy sleeper but this is really working for me! And this is great because I meant to purchase hand cream, got this instead, and had no idea what to do with it until I heard about slugging.

COSRX Advance Snail 96 Music Power Essence
COSRX - Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence This stuff is UNREAL! I’m not sure how to explain it, but it’s got that slimy snail texture, like the product wants to stick together. It’s almost like picking up a slice of pizza and the cheese stretches. I’ll post a boomerang or something of it later. I have such crazy dry skin and this helped a whooooole lot. I layered it over my Peach and Lily Glass Skin Serum and it’s the best combo! I used to be really into Korean skin care and I kind of stopped for a while but I forgot how nice it kept my skin! I feel like they really focus on having a glow but it’s natural. Anyways, this is a very lightweight essence, but it packs a punch! I’ll update if there are Andy changes, but so far I love this.

Living Proof PFD Shampoo and Conditioner
Living proof. - Perfect Hair Day Conditioner Living proof. - Perfect Hair Day Shampoo If I could use one shampoo and conditioner for the rest of my life, it would be this one! This makes my hair feel so nice and healthy and there’s just nothing like it! The only downside is that it’s really expensive, ($28 per bottle) which I can’t do all the time. I got it this time because I had a gift card for Christmas and jumped at the chance. I have a couple old shampoos and condition that I’m trying to use up before I use this. I know I like this because I used a sample the day before I was going on a ship for a née contract and was absolutely shocked at how good it was, I called my mom and everything 😂 I gave it 4 stars because of the price.

Works the same as Krave Beauty
I bought this when I ran out of my Krave - Great Barrier Relief and needed something that was easily accessible. I love the Great Barrier Relief and how it keeps my skin hydrated and soothed, but I can’t always spend the $34 and wait for it to get delivered. So instead, I bought the Aveeno - Calm + Restore Triple Oat Serum The aveeno works just the same in keeping you hydrated and soothed. There are differences. The texture is more runny and sticky and I felt like I ran out of it much faster. The packaging sucks. You’re supposed to use 3-4 drops but you only get one drop in the dispenser, so you have to go in and do it 3-4 times. It’s a good product, just isn’t very “easy” to use. I got mine at Walmart for like $18

Barrier Relief Review
Raise your hand of you’ve wrecked your skin barrier more than once 🙋🏾♀️ We all know how it happens, we get a lil overzealous with new products, or apply too many actives at once, or forget we exfoliated and apply an acid, whatever it may be — WE BEEN THERE. And the resulting inflammation, flakiness, dryness, breakouts, STRESS- that comes from a damaged skin barrier is quite an experience. So how to fix it? MOISTURE,HYDRATION,CERAMIDES,PEPTIDES, HYALURONIC ACID. Typically when my skin barrier is messed up, I strip out everything especially any actives and acids and go to my more natural products, incorporating rosehip oil and pure hyaluronic acid and heavier creams. I have been reading rave reviews of the Krave - Great Barrier Relief as several peoples holy grail for skin barrier repair so I bought it! I like it so far as a thicker serum than most of what I have, I also read that it isn’t an overnight results type of product but something you have to use for a while to see results. So I wouldn’t call it holy grail yet but I definitely like it, I don’t have any other products with ceramides or a targeted barrier repair function so I am excited to have this in my rotation! I have read that the greatest benefit of this is that it makes it easier to apply other actives and more intense products without fear of irritation or disruption of the skin barrier so I’ll definitely be pairing it with my retinol. Oh and girl lemme not forget to mention the smell, it smells weird lol. Not bad and it disappears quickly, but its an odd smell that i really can’t describe but its from the natural ingredients because its fragrance free so who cares! ___ Purpose - treat irritation, discoloration and breakouts caused by a damaged skin barrier Key Ingredients- -Niacinamide (reduces pore size, regulates sebum, protects and improves skintone) -Safflower Seed Oil(prevents dryness and roughness) -Tamanu Oil (rich in fatty acids and antioxidants for deep moisture)

Grow your eyelashes!!!
🌿Now when it comes to growing your lashes you have to have patience and the right oils. 💚First things first, make sure you have a small container or mascara tube you can use to put your mixed oils. Personally I prefer using the mascara tube because it's far more convenient than dipping a single wand over and over. You can find them on Amazon or other websites that may sell them. 💚I did have single mascara wands which can also be found on Amazon but they can be reused as much as you like. Just make sure to clean them properly each use!! 💚I then mixed together both Joboba and Castor oil which are great for stimulating hair growth. 💚Joboba oil is great for moisturizing your hair follicles. It protects your hair follicles and helps your eyelashes grow longer and thicker before they can fall out. Which is great so you won't need to worry about losing alot of eyelashes. 💚Castor oil is an absolute favorite of probably everyone especially when it comes to healhty hair. It also moisturizes your hair. This oil helps to strengthen and thicken lashes. Since it isn't proven that this helps to grow your hair it does stimulate hair growth. Especially if you use it daily. 💚I actually don't use this overnight since it can go into your eyes which is not great. So instead I've been leaving it on my eyelashes and brows for 3 hours before going to bed. Once the time is up I just wash it off and go to bed without the worry of waking up with blurry vision. Doing this has actually worked well for me so far. 🌿Remember that this takes time to work and alot of patience but it did work for me. I've noticed my eyelashes were longer and darker. And my eyebrows were also darker and fuller.

Two Additions to my Autumn Routine 🍂
🌻 Hello to the cuties of Cherie 🌻 This year is my very first time living in a city with a real deal Autumn !! I moved to Manhattan in the middle of July and the heat was no joke! I kept my routine light and focused on barrier repair. But now it’s finally beginning to cool off and my combination skin is going to need a bit more TLC to get me through the coming months! 🍁 It was past time to add an oil cleanser to my routine and after doing quite a bit of research I went with DHC - Deep Cleansing Oil I’ve used this the past two nights so this review is just first impressions. Because I’m acne prone I wanted to find a cleanser with oils low down on the comedogenic scale. The main oil in this is Olive Oil (which is a two on a scale of one to five). This has no added fragrance which I love and it felt lovely on my skin. I used CeraVe - Foaming Facial Cleanser For Normal To Oily Skin after this which sometimes feels a bit stripping, but since adding the Deep Cleansing Oil it has left me feeling clean bit still hydrated, which is a MUST for the cooler months!! 🍄 After spending so much time repairing my moisture barrier I realized that some of my methods of exfoliation in the past have just been too harsh for my skin. I’m going to be repurposing them; specifically The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution and replacing with The Ordinary - Mandelic Acid 10% + HA Mandelic acid is a much more gentle form of chemical exfoliation. The molecules are bigger so they don’t penetrate as deeply! It’s also great for treating hyperpigmentation. I have only used this once since receiving it, so I’ll post an update in a month on how it’s been working for me! I plan to use it 3x a week. Do any of you guys use these products ? 🍂 Happy Fall Equinox 🍂
