My Favourite Hair Oil for Colour Treated Hair
Happy Self-Care Sunday 😊 I had my hair lightened 👱🏽♀️ last month because it’s spring here in Australia 🇦🇺 and let’s face it we all like to get out and about during the hotter parts of the year and maintain that sun kissed look. 😉 I started using JOICO - K-Pak Color Therapy Luster Lock Glossing Oil after every wash because I bleached my hair in October and damaged it. I was using The Ordinary - 100% Plant-Derived Hemi-Squalane as a hair oil but it made my hair oily. It’s a much better eye moisturiser. 😉 I use the JOICO - K-Pak Color Therapy Luster Lock Glossing Oil on damp hair after every wash. So, every second day. I thought my colour would fade considerably because of how frequently I’ve been washing my hair. I usually wash my hair every 4 days. But my #nofilter photo shows my hair after 4 weeks.👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 I admit 🙋🏽♀️ I shampooed and conditioned 🧖🏽♀️ with: 🧚♀️ JOICO - K-Pak Color Therapy Color-Protecting Shampoo and 🧚♀️ JOICO - K-Pak Color Therapy Color-Protecting Conditioner 🧚♀️ Blow dried my hair and used a curling iron to highlight the colour. But considering it’s been four weeks since I had my dark brown hair lightened, I think my colours holding and looks pretty good. 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 Would love to know what you think? Comment yes 👍 or No 👎 below 😉 Have a great day! Jade 😊

My Auquest 5 Second Wrinkle Cream 3 Month Trial
Hey Beauty’s 🙋🏽♀️ I hope everyone had a safe and happy New Years Day! I’ve been trying to get this post up for a few days but I’ve been a bit lazy. I won’t lie 😂😂😂 I started using Auquest 5 Second Wrinkle Cream as my day cream October 12. I did a review and although it didn’t have results i. 5 seconds the ingredients had me intrigued. 🧐 it contains 21 peptides, fish carp, silk peptide, placental tissue and hydrolysed elastin. It’s a powerful antioxidant and it’s meant to promote the skins resilience against ageing. It’s meant to effectively reduce fine lines and wrinkles, lift, firm and improve loose skin. My thoughts 💭 I really wanted to love this cream but after 3 months I haven’t seen any noticeable results. 😞 I did a 4 week update and had improvement in my wrinkles but I also use a lot of other serums so it may not have been the moisturiser. I see why peeps do a full trial before giving reviews. ☺️ I added Neutrogena - Neutrogena Hydroboost Water Gel Moisturizer for additional hydration last month and continued to apply the Auquest Cream daily so I did expect some sort of result. An improvement at the very least. Unfortunately this product didn’t work for me and I purchased another one for trial purposes. I’ll add it to my collection of giveaway products. 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 it didn’t work for me but it may work for another beauty. 😉 I have mature skin with deep wrinkles, I’m 45, didn’t take care of my skin in my younger years and am now on my journey to try and repair the damage. 😃 I use The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 daily and have seen an immediate improvement when applying so when measuring the moisturisers efficacy it didn’t stand out. Have a wonderful day and hit me up by commenting below if you have any questions. Have you used Auquests 5 second Wrinkle Cream, yes or no? And did it work for you? Cheers 🥂 Jade
Inspired by Caroline Hirons
Happy New Year! In December I read Caroline Hiron’s book “Skincare a No NonSense Guide”. See earlier post for a review (I definitely recommend the read!). In her book she lays out the basics for creating a skincare routine. I am 35 with dry, normal skin. My concerns are preventing fine lines & wrinkles, dullness, dark circles, and hyperpigmentation. Here’s her basics for an AM Routine: 1. Cleanse A recent trend has been that you don’t need to wash your face in the morning. Instead you should look for a gentle cleanser. She also suggests staying away from foaming cleanser (these contain Sulfates) CLINIQUE - CLINIQUE Liquid Facial Soap I bought this Jumbo Clinique Facial Soap on sale in the summer and I’m still slowly working through it. It is gentle. However, after starting my clean skincare journey I found it has sulfates (second ingredient), TEA, and PEGs. I will swap for a “clean” soap when I finish it. (See my clean skincare posts for more info) 2. Exfoliate Caroline recommends using toners to exfoliate. Buy two acids a gentler and a stronger and rotate them. I’ve learned I like serums better for exfoliating, but I have started rotating two Pixi toners (see post for longer review) pixi - Glow Tonic pixi - Milky Tonic 3. Spray Mist She suggests to look for a mist with glyercin or hyalonic acid or rose water. Or use a hydrating toner I’ve been using The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 for this step. A very affordable hyaluronic acid that won an Allure Beauty Award. Do you use a facial mist? What do you recommend? 4. Eye cream Many people say eye cream should be after serums & moisturizer, but says it should be first to act as a barrier for the eye area. The Ordinary - Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG See my previous post for full review. I’ve been using this to target my dark circles, but haven’t noticed much difference. 5. Serums / oils This step is where you should target your concerns (i.e., hyperpigmentation). I love Vitamin C serum for the AM. VERSED - STROKE OF BRILLIANCE Brightening Serum This is a great drugstore Vitamin C serum. I’ve noticed my skin is brighter and more radiant! See earlier post for more info. 6. Moisturize CLINIQUE - Moisture Surge Hydrating Lotion I got this as a reward from Clinique and really like it for a daytime moisturizer. If you are a fan of their Moisture Surge line you will like this. It leaves my skin feeling very hydrated. With this concentrate you use less and it absorbs easily quicker. But from a “clean” beauty perspective it contains dyes. 7. SPF And finally always SPF. ICLINIQUE - Moisture Surge Sheertint Hydrator Broad Spectrum SPF 25 This is a great BB cream with SPF, light coverage, and moisturizing This routine leaves me feeling great even without putting on anymore make-up

Heyyy so a few months ago my skin exploded in breakouts. I had relatively clear skin before I started taking birth control (I’m like 79% sure that’s what caused my breakouts not 100% tho) Anyways I am still getting the occasional few pimples but I am mostly left with a bunch of scars and some texture. I still do get some pimples and zits as well. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on what I should do to help my skin. Thank you so much! My current routine is Am CeraVe - Hydrating Face Cleanser For Normal To Dry Skin I have been using apple cider vinegar as toner #Pearl essence - Vitamin c[products]# CeraVe - AM Facial Moisturizing Lotion SPF 30 Pm The same cleanser as am CeraVe - PM Facial Moisturizing Lotion I also just started The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solutionwhich I will do once a week!
Good skn w/ some frizzy hair, how’s Quarantini?
Basically me everyday wash routine morning and night is Step 1: Cleanse with average Hydrating cleanser (the one that doesn’t foam) *MAKE SURE YOURE CLEANSER YOUR SKN FOR 60 SECS LADIES/GENTS) We want all that dirt and debris off ur skin. Step 2: I used persa gel which is 10% benzoyl peroxide to fight acne. I use it morning and night, but make sure in the morning to really use a hydrating moisturizer since it can dry out the skin. Step 3: MOISTUREEEEEEEE with whatever works for your skin sometimes i use two moisturizers idk I’m weird like that 🤣🤣 Last but not least in the morning I use sunscreen ALWAYS WEAR YA SUNSCREEN LADIES/GENTS I can’t stress this enough BTW: your skincare routine does not have to include 30 different products, I’ll give you guys a break down if your new or just want some insight on a super easy and effective routine without spending 30 mins in the bathroom. Merry Christmas to Me
So here's my Christmas haul, normally I wouldn't be posting on Christmas Day, but Ontario begins lockdown tomorrow so I am unable to spend it with my partner this year (Long distance relationships am I right? 😭) I've been after a PML palette for a little while but they are so expensive, so I decided I'd purchase the #Pat McGrath Labs - Eye Ecstasy Kit First Edition Limited Release[products]# because it was way cheaper than anything else available on Sephora Canada, and it comes with #Pat McGrath Labs - Crystalline Prismatic Pigment[products]#in Angel Dust and a PAT McGRATH LABS - Fetisheyes Lengthening Mascaramini. I also bought PAT McGRATH LABS - Eyedols Eye Shadowin Gold Standard because it was on sale for $13CAD. I also purchased KVD VEGAN BEAUTY - Alchemist Holographic Palettewhich I have been eyeing for YEARS and it was also on sale for $13CAD so I snatched that up as soon as I saw it. The shimmer doesn't show very well in my image but I want you all to know "holographic" is not an exaggeration. I've been experiencing a lot of issues with my skin lately, so I purchased The Ordinary - Lactic Acid 10% + HAand The Ordinary - Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solutionbecause there's a lot of hype around these products and I'm confident they will help with my specific issues, and I already have The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% and The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 which both work well for me. I am excited to try all these products and I will review each of them at some point. P.S. does anyone else collect all the sequins that come in your PML packaging or is it just me?
My Skincare Routine- 5 Months Later!
Long time no post! Since my first post regarding my skincare routine received quite a bit of attention, I decided to update and let you know what I’ve learned to do within the past few months. I still am using the same CeraVe - Foaming Facial Cleanser For Normal To Oily Skin cleanser, which will remain a long time favorite of mine. I am considering trying the SA cleanser once this runs out! My routine has simplified, as I really only moisturize and use The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% in the morning and at night. I love how my once oily skin is now more manageable! I have come to learn that my skin really doesn’t agree with the The Ordinary - Lactic Acid 10% + HA serum. I was away at college and left it home, as I’ve been back for about a month I decided to try it again and my skin has NOT been happy. I could be wrong, but I believe this can be to blame. I have really switched over from my The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution to the The Ordinary - Salicylic Acid 2% Masque once a week, as I feel the latter is less harsh on my skin. I could possibly be allergic to the peeling solution, as again at school I left it out of my routine and saw better results. My holy grail product used to be the MARIO BADESCU - Mario Badescu Drying Lotion , which worked great but dried my skin out around the pimple over time. Now, acne patches are the way to go! I got these ones from Amazon, and at ~$10 for 125 patches, I see it as a complete win! Now I turn to you guys, as I still struggle with hormonal acne and now dry skin that the weather has changed. If there are any products you recommend (with a college students budget in mind!), don’t hesitate to comment below! I hope you all had safe and wonderful holidays with your loved ones! ❤️

Updated AM Routine
My first post was about my AM routine, and since it’s been 6 months, I thought it would be a good time to post an updated AM routine! For reference, I have dry, sensitive, and acne-prone skin. So here are the products I currently use- 1. VANICREAM - Gentle Facial Cleanser I recently made the switch from CeraVe - Hydrating Facial Cleanser , and I am absolutely loving it! It’s still gentle, but it provides an amazing deep clean! My skin is so soft and clean after using it. It’s the perfect first step for my routine. I use one pump with my Innerneed silicone face scrubber. ($8.99 for 8oz at Target.) 2. HADALABO - Gokujyun Premium Lotion : This hyaluronic acid solution contains 5 different molecular weight of hyaluronic acid to penetrate deeply into the skin. It has a gel-like texture. I apply a small amount on damp skin. It leaves my skin feeling plump, hydrated, and glowing. ($15.89 for 5.75oz on Amazon.) 3. CeraVe - Moisturizing Cream For Normal To Dry Skin : This is the moisturizer that I keep coming back to. I have yet to find one that I like better! It’s very thick and moisturizing. It absorbs best when I apply it while my skin is still damp from the hyaluronic acid lotion. It provides a matte finish and keeps my skin soft & hydrated throughout the day! ($9.99 for 8oz at Target.) 4. Krave - The Beet Shield : This is my favorite sunscreen! It’s unlike any sunscreen I’ve ever tried. It’s so light, not sticky, and hydrates my skin! I can reapply it throughout the day without feeling like I have a ton of product on my face. This is my one “splurge” product! ($20 for 1.69oz at Kravebeauty.com) Total routine costs: $54.87 Stay tuned for my PM routine!
Hi could you please give some product suggestions My skin gets easily irritated and is quite dry. I’m currently using 1. Simple - Kind to Skin Moisturizing Facial Wash 2. CeraVe - Moisturizing Cream For Normal To Dry Skin The rest of my face is fairly clear and i’m only struggling with forehead acne. I also haven’t explored many products in fear of a reaction. Thanks 😊😊
NightTime Routine - Dry Sensitive Skin ✨
Hi y’all! I just posted my morning skincare routine, now here’s my night time routine! Reminder, I have combo, but more on the dry side skin that is acne prone and sensitive! I’m also dealing with some maskne right now, which is obnoxious but better than getting COVID ! I start by cleansing with CeraVe - SA Smoothing Cleanser I really love this product as it is good for my acne yet not stripping at all. It’s been a great addition to my routine. *If I need to double cleanse I’ll use CeraVe Hydrating cleanser before it. The Ordinary - 100% Niacinamide Powder mixed with The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 I mix these two together if I haven’t done so in the morning and have seen really good results so far, although there was a purging period. If I feel like my skin needs a break, I will skip the niacinamide and just use the hyalauronic acid instead. Krave - Great Barrier Relief This is a new addition so I can’t really write about the results yet, but might post an update in a few weeks. It feels nice on the skin though, and I have high hopes for it! I don’t use it along with the niacinamide powder because its not suggested to use more than one product with niacinamide in one routine according to the Krave Beauty page. The Ordinary - 100% Organic Cold Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil Not sure if I should be using this along with the Great Barrier Relief since it might be redundant, but this has been an incredible addition to my routine. I love this product as it has really calmed down my acne, faded scars, and feels really nice on the skin. CeraVe - Moisturizing Cream For Normal To Dry Skin Love this moisturizer, especially at night since it makes me feel like everything has been locked in. It feels nice and I wake up with no dryness in the mornings. The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution I have loved this product for a long time! I use it once a week for ten minutes max and my skin always feels super smooth and clean after I do. This product has been one that I’ve seen the most results with in a while! The Ordinary - Granactive Retinoid 2% Emulsion I use this once or twice a week although I’ve been cutting down on it recently since I’ve started using a retin-a gel as a spot treatment some nights. Because it can be drying and sensitizing, I’ve been using rose hip oil more often since it has similar effects as retinol. If you have any suggestions or thoughts feel free to comment below! Stay safe y’all! 🦋✨
The Ordinary-100% Niacinamide Powder
A.M. Routine ✨
After seeing a dermatologist, I have started using clindamycin gel in the AM and tretinoin cream in the PM for my persistent acne. I also have dry, sensitive skin so I am taking things slow. For 2-4 weeks, I’ll be using the clindamycin gel every other day, and then every day as prescribed. My P.M. post details how I use the tretinoin cream. Here is my A.M. routine! CeraVe - Hydrating Facial Cleanser This is a gentle, creamy cleanser that’s perfect for dry, sensitive skin. It leaves my skin feeling soft & hydrated, not stripped. PAULA'S CHOICE - Enriched Calming Toner This is a new addition to my routine, and I absolutely love it! It has a milky texture and leaves my skin feeling soft & less irritated. I apply it with a reusable fabric pad. PAULA'S CHOICE - Omega + Complex Serum This is also a new addition to my routine. I like this product, but I don’t love it. I will be trying out the Krave Great Barrier Relief serum when I’m out of this. Clindamycin Gel- I apply a pea-size amount of the gel every other day. I apply dots of the gel on my cheeks, chin, nose, and forehead before gently rubbing it in. CeraVe - Moisturizing Cream For Normal To Dry Skin After letting everything dry, I apply this moisturizing cream. It’s very thick, but for the most part absorbs into the skin. There is some left on top to form a protective barrier. I re-apply throughout the day on extra dry & irritated areas. I will be trying out First Aid Beauty’s Ultra Relief Cream to see if I like it better. Rodan and Fields Soothe Sunscreen- This is a mineral, broad spectrum sunscreen with 30 SPF. I have been using it for over a year, and I really love it. It leaves my skin feeling soft & less red/irritated. I will be trying the Purito Centella Unscented sunscreen to see if I like it better than this one.
PAULA'S CHOICE-Enriched Calming Toner
simple PM routine for sensitive, dry, & acne
PM skincare routine: 1. Cleansing oil applied to dry skin 2. Wash off oil and apply cream cleanser in shower 3. Apply toner with cotton round 4. Dispense two drops of niacinamide & zinc serum into hand and smooth into face 5. Apply moisturizing cream 6. Finish with hemi-squalane I use the Ordinary’s lactic acid 5% + HA between steps 3&4 2-3 times a week and sometimes I’ll do a moisturizing sheet mask between steps 4&5 about once a week 😊
The Ordinary-100% Plant-Derived Hemi-Squalane
Hyaluronic acid + Niacinamide a powerhouse combination!
When you are a skincare fan like me, it’s common and possible to make the big mistake of combining products with ingredients that shouldn’t be combined (I’m guilty of it!) that’s why it’s important that we do some basic research on whether the products we combine are a good or bad idea. It’s a lesson I had to learn the hard way. If you combine the wrong ingredients, there is a chance they cancel each other out along with their benefits, or worst-case scenario, you cause some damage to your skin. No one wants that, so a simple google search will do the job. Or simply keep a list on a notebook or your phone for easy access before buying skincare products. A combination I personally like to use is hyaluronic acid and niacinamide since I started to notice more aging signs in my combination skin and I wanted to get rid of dark spots as well. I’m sure you’ve heard about these ingredients but what do they actually do? Hyaluronic acid: Is a substance that is found in a natural way on different tissues and organs in our body, it has the ability to attract and retain water, which makes these tissues stay in healthy condition. Sadly, as we get older this substance decreases in our body over time, and as a consequence skin loses hydration, elasticity and become saggy and flaccid, it is then when wrinkles start to become more noticeable. For all these reasons, hyaluronic acid is one of the most popular ingredients in skincare product and cosmetic procedures. Niacinamide: Also known as Vitamin B3, it’s an antioxidant with a lot of great benefits. It reduces acne thanks to its Anti-inflammatory properties that calm irritated skin and also regulate sebum. It makes the skin texture better overall and reduces pores size. One of the main reason people use this ingredient is to fight hyperpigmentation and diminish acne scars, evening out skin tone. It’s ideal for sensitive skin and dry. I’ve been using 2 products in particular that have hyaluronic acid and niacinamide as their main ingredient respectively. Although there isn’t an established rule with these 2 on which one you should use first, in this case I use the cleanser first and the cream at the end of my skincare routine. (Hyaluronic Acid) Cerave – Hydrating Facial Cleanser: I particularly like this facial cleanser because it never leaves my skin dry like other cleansers I've used. It’s also non-comedogenic, and if you suffer from acne, it’s something you need for sure. It also helps restore our skin’s natural barrier that protects it from pollution and environmental hazards. It barely has any fragrance and leaves the skin really soft after using it thanks to the hyaluronic acid in it. CeraVe - Hydrating Facial Cleanser (Niacinamide) Tony Moly - Panda's Dream White Magic Cream: If you take packaging into consideration when it comes to choosing a product you will love this one! It’s one of the cutest looking products I’ve ever seen. This cream comes in the shape of a lovely panda and I love using it especially when I plan on going out because it gives my skin a natural luminous appearance whenever it feels dull. The Niacinamide in it is in charge of reducing dark spots and brightening the skin. I really recommend this one! TONYMOLY - Panda's Dream White Magic Cream

My night time skincare routine (:
✨ Hey guys! I know I haven’t really been active on here, but tonight I decided to finally show you my night time skincare routine! A night time skincare regimen is very important for beautiful skin. I think after a lot of trial and error I’ve finally perfected my night time skincare regimen to the point where I don’t have to or need to add in new products or get rid of products! I know this probably looks like a lot, but compared to my morning skincare, (literally moisturizer and sunscreen) a night skincare should be all about regenerating, prepping, and hydrating the skin for the next day! ✨- It isn’t shown in this picture, but for cleansing the skin I like to cleanse my skin with the Cerave Foaming Facial Cleanser! Now I’ve been using this product along with the moisturizing cream long before the hype! I’ve been using Cerave since I was 15 and now I’m about to be 18!! (Lolll shocker) Anyways, I love Cerave, I love how gentle and kind it is to the skin, a good night time skincare regimen does not have to be expensive, it just needs to be safe and good on the skin! Your skin needs love and it needs it especially at night! ✨- I love hydration! It’s KEY to amazing and glowing skin, I recently have been using the Heritage Rose Water Spray as my toner after I cleanse, this spray is simple the ingredients are simply purified water, and Hydroessential Rose (Rosa Damascena), it’s very soothing and hydrating especially after chemical exfoliating although it has a little fragrance to it, I don’t mind it it isn’t strong at all. ✨- After cleansing and toning, I like to go in with my Cos De Baha Nicinamide + Zinc serum, now if you haven’t read my post about this stuff, please go check it out. This serum is amazing for my oily skin, it’s helped reduce my oil production to the point where I am no longer oily during the day, it’s also helped with my hyperpigmentation and dark spots around my mouth and nose area. It’s very soothing and I just love it so much in my opinion it is better than the Ordinary’s. ✨- Last but not least, is moisturizing, I love using a thick moisturizer morning and night, even oily skin needs moisture. I like to use Squalane oil and my Cerave cream, I mix a drop into the cream and smother it all over my face, afterwards I like to add a little drop of the oil into my palms of my hand and pat that all over my face as well, and lastly I like to spray the rose water spray again just for that extra moisture and glow!

Morning Skin Care Routine
CeraVe - Hydrating Face Cleanser For Normal To Dry Skin This hydrating facial cleanser is a MUST in your skincare routine! with 3 ceramides and hyaluronic acid, it’s gentle enough to use on the face. unlike the Cerave foaming facial cleanser, the hydrating cleanser doesn’t strip your skin of the essential oils it needs, but hydrates. the consistency of this cleanser feels water based and goes onto the face feeling very hydrating. I usually leave the cleanser on my face for about 1 min and then rinse with lukewarm water. Neutrogena - Hydro Boost Smoothing Gel Exfoliator 150ml This hydro boost exfoliator has given my skin new perceptions. This exfoliator has helped my acne scars and textured skin to become very minimal. The consistency of this exfoliator is gel like with micro beads to help the exfoliating process. this product is gentle enough to wear it doesn’t leave micro tears in your skin, but I can still feel the beads exfoliating! I usually place a pea size ( a little goes a long way) in my hand and rub it together to create more product to place on my face. I rub the product into my face for about 30 seconds and let it set for the other 30 seconds, then rinse with luke warm water. I use the exfoliator about 2-3 times a week. DERMA•E - Vitamin C Concentrated Serum I have just recently started using the Derma-E vitamin C concentrated serum, but by the looks of it, I think it has really brightened up my skin. I use about 2 pumps of the product every morning and apply evenly to my face ( it smells like fruit loops!). Don’t forget to apply sunscreen before going out! COSRX - BHA Blackhead Power Liquid I have struggled with black heads, especially on my nose, my entire life. I tried pretty much ANYTHING (even pore strips; yuk!) to try and remove my blackheads. I came across this product on my favorite estheticians page and decided to try it out. I was amazed after just a couple days of using that my nose looked as clear as the rest of my skin! it’s recommended to use 1-2 a week, but I use it every day. I apply with a cotton round pad to the areas affected (usually just my nose) and let it sit and continue my skin care routine after it dries! CeraVe - Daily Moisturizing Lotion For Normal To Dry Skin Not much has to be said about this moisturizing lotion because it simply is the best! my heart will always go with Cerave products and this is the best lotion I have found for my face! I apply it evenly on my face and neck once in the morning and once at night.
