P.m. skincare routine. Suggestions ?

Here is my pm skincare routine. Started to care about my skin couple months ago only. Never had major issues but fine lines are starting to appear and let’s face it, I was bored during quarantine. I wanted to give double cleanse a try but had trouble finding a drugstore cleansing balm. I came across cocokind - Oil to milk cleanser
and was pleasantly surprised. Works okay on make up and is gentle with nice ingredients. I wish the gliding would be a bit more smooth though. I can sometimes feel some pulling and tugging. 🌾 I follow with sioris - Cleanse Me Softly Milk Cleanser
as I like milky cleansers. This one is fine especially in colder weather but I sometimes feel like its a bit heavy and not deep cleansing enough. I prefer LA ROCHE-POSAY - Toleriane Hydrating Gentle Face Cleanser
but have run out. 🥛 I then follow with a first essence and a toner. People always say they are not essential in your routine but they’re actually my fave step. Adding soothing and hydrating ingredients without any heavy/greasy texture (I damaged my skin barrier after over exfoliating). I'm from - Mugwort Essence
& COSRX - Propolis Synergy Toner
are the ones I’m using right now. My skin agrees with both and it calms down any redness or tight feeling after cleansing. 🐝 I wanted to try snail mucin and was missing a small amount for free shipping (I know you feel me) so opted for MIZON - Snail Repair Eye Cream
. Haven’t seen any results on the fine lines around my eyes yet as its only been a couple weeks but the texture is amazing and light and silky. 🐌 Once a week I will use THE inkey LIST - Retinol Serum
. Will step up to two times a week very soon. Just started my retinol journey and almost made the mistake to go with a 1% OTC retinol. Boy am I glad I did some research. This one is 0,05% retinol. Would really like your recommendations for a next step retinol for my next purchase :). I end the routine with CeraVe - PM Facial Moisturizing Lotion
. Really love this. It has niacinamide which is nice because I don’t use it in serum form. I have it in my am toner as well and its just enough for me. Would maybe wanna switch up for a heavier moisturizer for winter if you have any suggestions. Cerave is always sold out in drugstores so wanted to try something else when I run out. Please feel free to recommend products you like. I will mention I use I'm from - Honey Mask
and dear, klairs - Midnight Blue Calming Cream
on nights my skin feel really bothered (like the night after I used the retinol) I adore the mask but will not be repurchasing the klairs cream. Its a bit overpriced and overrated in my opinion. I will gladly pay less for a similar white “less instagramable” cream. Any suggestion for this one as well? 🍯💙

theskincaregeekomg I’m jealous! I wish I started off with k beauty when I got into skincare 😭 I can’t rlly find any good drugstore cleansing balms either, but I love the DHC cleansing oil which is available at Target, Ulta or Costco (cheapest at Costco) For a moisturizer I love the Cocokind Matcha Cream and I’ve also heard that Vanicream’s cream is a great option at the drugstore.

MelissaTringleHey :) I live in canada so we don’t have the same shop/brands. I think coco kind carries that moisturizer here though I’ll check it ou! K beauty is really amazing. It’s sad that people here don’t really use these products. I grabbed the indeedlabs water melon balm to replace the cocokind. The best ones still are k beauty imo :)

Gentle Am routine ✨
Alright, so this is my routine in the morning. Didn’t change it for winter weather yet and I don’t know if I will honestly. My morning routine contains a few actives but mostly trying to take care of my dehydrated combination skin. I only rinse my face with lukewarm water in the morning except if I “slugged” the night before. I will use sioris - Cleanse Me Softly Milk Cleanser as this is my current pm second cleanser. 🥛 Like my pm routine, I use both a first essence and a toner. My favorite steps even if they’re not 🌈 essentials 🌈 . In the am I use NEOGENLAB - Real Rerment Micro Essence (thx james welsh) and I have to say I love it. My skin drinks it right up and automatically calms any tightness I might feel on my skin. I then follow with I'm from - Rice Toner (again, james). I love that it contains niacinamide as I don’t like using it in high amounts (like in a serum) it’s also quite moisturizing for my combination skin. Really makes your skin glow. 🍚 I will then alternate the use of the The Ordinary - Ascorbyl Glucoside Solution 12% and PAULA'S CHOICE - 10% Azelaic Acid Booster as my actives. On days I use the Vit C, I will use right after the toner and will follow with The Ordinary - Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG . The caffeine solution was really working the first months but now my under eye doesnt seem to react as much to it... will probably not buy it again but the bottle last ages so I will finish it. ☕️ For the ascorbyl solution, it’s a really nice and gentle option. Will switch to straight L ascorbic acid serum when the ascorbyl is done though :) 🍋 If I use the azelaic acid, I will skip the vit C and apply the caffeine solution straight after toner. I will then put on the VERSED - DEW POINT Moisturizing Gel-Cream which is a super nice soothing gel moisturizer with really impressive ingredient list for a drugstore product. I will THEN apply the azelaic acid over it to prevent any irritation. 🌿 I will end the routine with the famous PURITO - Centella Green Level Unscented Sun SPF50+ . Do I really need to explain how awesome this product is ? 🌞**will discontinue use after I’m done with it. Any recommendations for a cruelty free spf available in Canada?*** If you have any recommendations to make it more “cold weather friendly” your suggestions are appreciated ❄️

Mask obsessed 😍
I really love masks, they are my favourite part of my routine which is why I have soooo many.... the other reason is I have dry but acne prone skin so I like to chose a mask based of my skins current condition. VERSED - PHOTOS, PLEASE BRIGHTENING TIGHTENING MASK I love this mask it is turmeric and Kaolin clay so it brightens my skin but it never dries my skin out. VERSED - FIND CLARITY Purifying Mask this is bentonite clay so I use it when my skin is breaking out, it can dry out my skin. #Versed - Look alive hydrating plumping mask[products]#[FourStars] this is a very hydrating mask that is great if kept cold. COSRX - Ultimate Moisturizing Honey, Overnight Mask I love honey for my skin, it hydrates and creates a barrier over your skin so you don’t lose any moisture. COSRX - Ultimate Nourishing Rice Overnight Spa Mask I love this cream mask overnight to nourish and brighten my skin. I'm from - Honey Mask this is a lush honey mask that super charges hydration. THE BODY SHOP - British Rose Fresh Plumping Mask this is a spa like hydrating mask that is great cold. THE BODY SHOP - Chinese Ginseng & Rice Clarifying Polishing Mask I love this as the rice is brightening and nourishing and the ginseng is anti-aging. THE BODY SHOP - Tea Tree Face Mask this is a clay and tea tree mask that is a powerhouse. I use this when I have a breakout and it immediate reduces the redness and the next morning my breakout is diminished. Aveeno - Positively Radiant, MaxGlow No-Mess Sleep Mask this is a good drug store sleeping mask that creates a barrier to ensure no lose of moisture. LANEIGE - Water Sleeping Mask this is a light sleeping mask that is a gel. VERSED - Doctor's Visit I love this exfoliating mask that includes AHAs, bhas and enzymes to resurface the skin. Aveeno - Glow Oat Mask With Pomegranate Seed Extract my skin loves oats as they are very soothing and pomegranate is a good antioxidant. 👜 Mearosa - collagen essence facial sheet masks | ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I love sheet masks as they are such a spa experience, I love using these cold and then relaxing for 20mins

My Favorite Korean Skincare Products
🇰🇷 Korean Skincare has been gaining traction in the U.S. over the last several years and rightfully so. Korean skincare is typically affordable, effective, focused on hydration and sun protection, and several years ahead of the U.S. in trending ingredients. My combo dry skin LOVES the focus on hydration and I personally really enjoy a longer multi step k beauty routine. I typically et my k beauty products on YesStyle, Wishtrend, Amazon, or Sephora if it’s something like Laneige or Glow a Recipe. Here’s some of my favorite K Beauty products I currently have on rotation: (From top left to bottom right) 🇰🇷 Dr. Jart Ceramidin Cream: A very rich, barrier replenishing moisturizer for when my skin is dry or irritated. 🇰🇷 Glow Recipe Plum Plump Serum: An antioxidant rich gel texture hyaluronic serum. I use this daily. 🇰🇷 Mauve Fantastic Ever Cool Kids Never Sleep Cream: A water cream with some loud 80s packaging that I am LIVING FOR. This is a good dupe for the Tatcha Water Cream. 🇰🇷 Then I Met You Living Cleansing Balm: A barrier replenishing cleansing balm rich in sea buckthorn oil. 🇰🇷 Dear Klairs Midnight Blue Calming Cream: A cream gel consistency moisturizer with blue tansy. Great for calming any inflammation. 🇰🇷 Krave Oat So Simple Water Cream: A very lightweight water cream with soothing oats. 🇰🇷 Purito Centella Green Level Safe Sun: Get 👏🏻 Hip 👏🏻 To 👏🏻 This 👏🏻 Sunscreen 👏🏻 it’s like $8 and completely invisible and weightless. This is like my fourth bottle. 🇰🇷 Then I Met You Soothing Tea Cleansing Gel: An antioxidant rich mildly exfoliating gel cleanser. I feel very so so about this. It’s fine but I wouldn’t buy again. 🇰🇷 Laneige Cream Skin Toner: A milky hydrating toner with meadow foam seed oil. 🇰🇷 Dear Klairs Supple Preparation Toner: An incredibly hydrating and plumping watery gel consistency toner. 🇰🇷 Amore Pacific Treatment Enzyme Peel: A richly foaming powder enzyme cleanser gentle enough for every day use.

A beautiful mistake
Do you ever look at all your skincare products and just obsess over the colors and textures?!? 🌈 I sure do 🙋‍♀️ BUT...I’ve learned quickly that while yes, this is one of my favorite pictures I’ve taken, I also made a BIG MISTAKE!! 🚫 I used to get so excited (well, still do) when a new product arrived in my possession that I opened it immediately. I wanted to see and feel the beauty inside, and get it on my face!!! Well, every single product has a little thing called an EXPIRATION DATE! In opening up a new jar I am literally setting a clock which is usually 6-12 months before I have to use it up. And when you have so many moisturizers or masks open there is no possible way to use them all up in that time frame. I’d have to be masking several times a day! 🤦‍♀️ Every product you receive will have TWO DATES: * The expiration date without opening the package & * The expiration of the product once it’s been opened —————— What I do now is: 1) show some SELF-CONTROL 😂 2) Date each package as it arrives - I take a black marker and date the box so I don’t forget how long it’s possibly been in my possession. This was usually the case when I was getting so many subscription boxes as there would be so many, let’s say cleansers, that were adding up that I knew it would be some time before getting to them. 3) Date the product when opened - I usually find a discreet place to mark the day I opened it as I will probably be photographing it several times and don’t want the date showing ————— This seems simple and obvious but I urge you to really pay attention to your expiration dates. I’ve already had some I’ve had to sideline as they’ve expired. Also cutting back on my purchases and cancelling my sub boxes has made a difference. It’s exciting getting new products but there can be a level of overabundance! I’m definitely trying to be more conscious of my ‘needs’ and not my ‘wants’. 😉 Do you spot any favorites? All products should be reviewed individually in previous posts but let me know if there is one you’d like to hear about. Peace and health to all ❤️my @cheriefamily 🍒😘 #CherieCreator

KBEAUTY SAVED MY SKIN🥰
I know tons of people now use Korean skincare products, however it’s been part of my routine for almost 4 years now and I haven’t looked back!☺️ SWIPE 👉🏽 for my raw skin!! Kbeauty is the one line of skincare I think everyone at least needs to try because not only is it affordable but the ingredients are insanely good and formulation is everything ✊🏽 it’s stuff you won’t get here from western brands, and if you do, it’s extremely overly priced When I first got into skincare to help with my acne, on a whim I decided to try a whole Korean line without even knowing. When my skin calmed down from using a line that had nothing to do with claiming to help you acne, I knew I had to do more research! 🥳 this is where I found out more about the kbeauty world and overtime, my collection has grown and these are some of my favourites💕 COSRX - Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence an amazingly hydrating essence/serum gel that works wonderfully on damp skin kind of like a HA which has helped overall hydrate my skin, keep it plump and not dry it out + helps with any hyperpigmentation (it’s slow but effective) I'm from - Rice Toner another amazing toner that has rice extract and niacinamide added to really help hydrate and soothe the skin and immediately brighten my skin!! This is my go to morning toner and my second bottle because I’m in love!!❤️ THE FACE SHOP - Chia Seed Hydrating Lotion my pm toner snd the line that really started my kbeauty journey and helped completely clear my skin in a couple months! Chia seed is such a powerful ingredient in skincare and in food and my gosh is this hydrating and instantly soothing. I will forever to continue to buy from this line (especially the moisturizer) because I know it works for me all the time! I'm from - Mugwort Essence second bottle and I can never stop talking about it! After hearing about tea tree and it working sometimes for me, I found out about mugwort and how it’s referred to as the Korean tea tree but soothing and way less irritating and my gosh they got this right! One of my all time favourite products! I apply two layers am and pm and my skin instantly feels soothed and relaxed and also helps with any irritation or acne ☺️ COSRX - Ultimate Nourishing Rice Overnight Spa Mask I use this as a moisturizer during the night and even sometimes in the day! It’s super hydrating without being heavy. It also has some niacinamide for that brightening affect. It sinks right in and leaves your skin feeling moisturized and not greasy and my gosh, this is also wonderful under makeup! Again, kbeauty really knows what they are doing and my gosh, I don’t think I’ll ever be able to just stop using Korean skincare! #cheriepartner

Thou shall hydrate thy skin.
Learning how to properly hydrate my skin was a game changer in improving my hormonal acne. Not only does it provide instant relief and skin plumping abilities, but overtime it has helped balance my oily skin and improved my overall skin health. It is like adding milk to a cupcake mix, you need it to complete the recipe. This is what's currently on my rotation: I'm from - Mugwort Essence - The hype is real - this is a beautiful essence that feels instantly soothing on first application. It is a viscous texture that leaves the skin plump, juicy, and glowy and slowly evens out minor bouts of redness. I never thought anything would be more effective at calming my skin than centella, but this proved me wrong. It plays nicely with other products, is easy to layer and packs a good punch of hydration. I did notice that overtime my skin became less reactive and has been helpful for keeping my skin healthy and happy. I went on a short trip last month and didn't use this for a few days (the glass bottle is not ideal to travel with), my skin was definitely more reactive and irritated. I may repurchase in the future, but I have other mugwort/artemisia first essences on my list. Benton - Deep Green Tea Toner - A refreshing toner that is weightless but has a good amount of hydration after 2-3 layers. I prefer this over the Isntree green tea toner (which I found too astringent for my skin). It did somewhat calm redness and breakouts (not as drastically as the mugwort essence) and helped to balance out oil production. I prefer this in the summertime, but anyone living in the more humid climate will likely enjoy this toner. Since it's colder in Canada, I pair this with I'm From Mugwort Essence for a more comforting balance. NIOD - Superoxide Dismutase Saccharide Mist - I was the most excited about this due to its cult following. It's touted as a dermal treatment mist with potent antioxidant properties and fights inflammation while delivering high levels of hydration. I must admit I didn't get off to a good start with this mist - my barrier was slightly sensitized from retinoid treatment and this stung upon application. After my barrier healed, this felt comfortable, plumping and hydrating on the skin. This didn’t exactly help in terms of calming my skin or reducing redness, especially compared to the mugwort essence. I think this would be more suitable for people concerned with photoaging. That said, it is still a nice hydrating mist and great way to incorporate reliable antioxidants into your routine. What are some of your favourite hydrators?

This is the best skincare routine ever! You do not need any more than this to have great skin. I’ll list some of my favorite picks under $20. Moisture here I come!!! 🐝
This toner goes in with my evening routine as my first step after I cleanse. It’s very moisturizing and has no scent, it has a slightly more viscous texture than water. Honestly it did what it was supposed to do and didn’t wow me, so it’s not a repurchase for me. Pros 🐝❤️: -works well with basically everything, great base -moisturizing can give off a glowy vibe if you use it with the right products -has antioxidants and great humectants. -propolis is anti-inflammatory and antibacterial so that’s pretty nice for people who struggle with acne like I do! We also know honey can be soothing. Cons 🐝❌: -I don’t think it does anything super special it is pretty replaceable in my opinion it is just a good added moisture with a tiny bit of extra glow, which was enough for me to knock off a star. -Honestly didn’t see any effects on acne but I wasn’t really expecting to see that anyway even though the propolis supposedly helps with that. It retails at about $23 I believe which doesn’t make it a bad purchase at all! Hope this helps everyone!! COSRX - Propolis Synergy Toner

My skincare journey
The 1st 2 photos were from summer of 2020 & the 3rd photo was taken today. I’ve come such a long way with my skincare journey and I am honestly so proud of myself. The pandemic has been so tough for everyone especially on their mental health. I am usually very quiet about my mental health issues but I had to speak up about it and how it affected everything in my life. Staying cooped up at home every day took a toll on my mental health all together & it hit an all time low when I was sexually assaulted last yr in May. I let myself go and lost control of everything such as my sleep, skincare, diet & social life. It got to a point where I started losing clumps of my hair in the shower & I want everyone out there to know that it gets better. Im nowhere close to feeling my best but looking back, I’ve made such a huge difference. My skin got so bad to a point where I hated seeing people and applying makeup just made it worse and cakey. I researched a bunch of products & used everything on my face at the same time which caused my skin to react poorly and flare up. It was red & covered in pimples & whiteheads. At this point I believed that, okay I do not feel beautiful and compared myself to every other woman. Its so important to know that a few pimples or marks doesn’t make you any less beautiful. Everyone’s journey is so different and patience and time can fix it. I can explain and link the products I used, Retinol THE inkey LIST - Retinol Serum So I initially used this every single night along with Niacinamide and oh man, I wish I hadn’t. I didn’t know that you were supposed to build tolerance to it. So I started using it once a week & then slowly switched to using it every other day. My skin actually started feeling a bit better. Niacinamide The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% So I read a couple of articles about WOC talking about how this product didn’t exactly suit their skin & once I started using it I noticed it never really made any difference to my skin & found it to sting a little. I still want to give it a chance so I use a tiny bit & I noticed there’s no stinging. So I might’ve been using too much for it to do that. Facial cleanser CeraVe - Foaming Facial Cleanser For Normal To Oily Skin I switched from cetaphil to CeraVe and I am so happy that I did. Whats weird is this cleanser made me realize that I don’t have oily skin (I’m not sure how this happened but if anyone knows, please help me out here) Moisturizer LANEIGE - Water Bank Moisture Cream Okay so I know a lot of people might not be too happy with this product since it contains fragrance but after trying so many different types of moisturizers, this is the only one that really made a difference on my skin 🥺 I am not trying to get you to buy these products. These are just things that worked for me and it took a lot of time. Listen to your skin & do what works best for you. You are so so beautiful 💕

My small skin journey, please help me!
Usually skin journeys are to show the improvement of your skin when you use certain products, however my skin has been getting worse. My first picture was August 10th, I don’t remember what face wash I was using, but I was using The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% and The Ordinary - Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG . I rated the Niacinamide 5 out of 5 because it really helped with my dark spots, at the time I was at the beach a lot and even though I put on sunscreen, dark spots would appear on my nose. That’s where I would notice them the most. Whenever I used the Niacinamide, I really noticed that it would help fade the dark spots and I really liked that. I’ve been using the Caffeine Solution for a while because I have pretty bad dark circles, I can’t tell if it’s been helping or not but I think it has a little. In the second picture which was today November 2nd, my skin is freaking out. You might not be able to tell in the picture but I have two cystic acne pimples, one on my forehead and one on my left cheek. Usually I don’t really get cystic acne but I have been getting them a lot more often. I believe this is the most I have been breaking out throughout the months. Let me give a quick background, I was on vacation June-August 19th and that’s why I only had few products. When I got home I bought more products, these products were from The Ordinary. These products included The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5, The Ordinary - Alpha Arbutin 2% + HA. The Ordinary - Azelaic Acid Suspension 10%and since I ran out of the Niacinamide I had before I bought the 60 mL bottle because they were out of the 30mL on Sephora. I used The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% and The Ordinary - Azelaic Acid Suspension 10%in the morning. Then The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% and The Ordinary - Alpha Arbutin 2% + HA in the night. At first everything was fine, I had a few pimples but I didn’t think much of it, however my skin became very irritated, it dried out, which was weird because I have oily skin. I stopped using all of those products for a bit and used The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5and The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% together since I knew Hyaluronic Acid helps with moisture and I knew Niacinamide worked for me already, that’s why I used them together. Even when I used those two and stopped using the others, my skin didn’t get much better, it was still very dry, it hurt to put products on it. Even the niacinamide I felt like it wasn’t working for me and I’m not sure why because it worked before. In the second pic, I recently started to use COSRX - Salicylic Acid Daily Gentle Cleanser, íUNIK - Calendula Complete Cleansing Oil,MIZON - Snail Repair Eye Creamas well as The Ordinary - Retinol 1% in Squalane

My Current AM Routine
I feel like my routine is always changing due to purchasing new products to try and review, however here is my current AM routine. HOLI FROG - Tashmoo Water Lily Nourishing Milky Wash (fragrence free) I've only just recently started using this, but I will say I like this one. I find it similar to LA ROCHE-POSAY - Toleriane Hydrating Gentle Face Cleanser Holifrog is a little more hydrating since it feels like a lotion than a cleanser. The La Roche cleanser is a good dupe if you need something a little cheaper and at the convince stores. If you have dry skin I highly recommend Holifrog, but if you have normal to oily skin and are just experiencing some sensitivity (like your skin barrier) then I would go with La Roche. COSRX - Hyaluronic Acid Hydra Power Essence (fragrence free) I really enjoy this product because I feel like I am getting a good size value for the price. It also doesn't feel any different than any other HA essence or serum that I've tried (one being a very expensive one). Krave - Great Barrier Relief (fragrence free) This guy is definitely my holy Grail and I have reviewed it before. I use it daily due to my dry skin, but if you have normal to oily skin I definitely recommend having this on hand especially if you like to try new products and if it possibly irritates you or if you over do actives. PETER THOMAS ROTH - Potent-C Vitamin C Power Serum (fragrence free) I've also done a review already on this one. It is very potent and has a stable form of vit C, however unless you are trying to severely even out skin tone or remove dark spots, I would not spend the money. It is definitely pricey (almost $100). If you really need the potency of this product, then go ahead. Otherwise if you are just looking to fix minor issues/use it to go along with your spf, I'd go with a cheaper (still stable) product likeTHE inkey LIST - Vitamin C Serum 30ml(I have not personally tried this inkey list product, but have heard good things about it's ingredients as well as being a reasonable price) FIRST AID BEAUTY - Ultra Repair Cream (fragrence free) I am really enjoying this new product. It is a step up fromCeraVe - CeraVe Moisturising Cream which I also love for the simplicity and price value, but this one has even more soothing ingredients such as colloidal oatmeal. I like to use this in the morning because it doesn't make my face overly shiny before I head out the door and it also goes well under make up (with a primer of course) #Deoproce - Hyaluronic Cooling Sun Gel spf 50[products]#[FourStars] (NOT fragrence free) I just recently bought this sunscreen and it is my first Korean spf. I love how easily it goes on and it gives me enough glow without looking greasy. My complaint would be that it's not fragrence free, but I'm happy it got me started. Next I'll likely try Krave - The Beet ShieldorTHANK YOU FARMER - Sun Project Water Sun Cream

Dry, redness prone, sensitive skin
Hi everyone :) Since I can remember I’ve dealt with dry and sensitive skin. My skin is always red to some level. I’ve been to dermatologists in the past and they always said it was something I would grow out of. I’m 27 and while my skin has improved over time, I still have a lot of redness. I was never told that I have rosacea, but I’m pretty that’s what I’m dealing with! Wondering if anyone has any suggestions for products that might help? While my current routine works well for my skin, I’m curious to see if there’s anything else I could incorporate to help with my redness. Thanks in advance!

NEW Naturium & Farmacy BHA comparison
NEW Naturium & Farmacy BHA comparison
Naturium and Farmacy were both gifted in PR. I have oily, dehydrated, acne prone sensitive skin at the moment. For full review on Farmacy’s BHA, check out my page. Here’s a comparison to Naturium’s new BHA ($20/4 oz) and which one I prefer! I have been using Naturium for nearly two weeks. The product is marketed toward all skin types, and claims to do exactly what a BHA does: exfoliates/clears pores, even tone, and smooth fine lines. My experience with this product so far is nice. It’s a more hydrating product, so my dehydrated skin loves it. It’s also alcohol free, oil free, and fragrance free, making this perfect for sensitive skin. The formula is relatively basic, which isn’t bad at all, considering the price! Since my skin is used to salicylic acid, I’ve used this daily since receiving it with no issues. I love to use SA in the morning after I cleanse, and this is the perfect toner step. If you normally tone after cleansing, I definitely recommend using this. My skin is left feeling balanced and it leaves no residue. My pores are noticeably better and I am less oily overall, thanks to the SA. Comparing this to Farmacy’s: Overall, both formulas work similarly, however for oily skin I am leaning more toward Farmacy. I find myself gravitating toward the formula more because it absorbs quicker, has more added benefits and feels more refreshing on my oily skin. If you prefer using SA at night or have drier skin, Naturium is a great option for the added moisture, plus it is more wallet friendly. I just prefer SA in the am, so I prefer what feels best for me during the day.

Week 5 of Tretinoin + BIG STORYTIME
Week 5 of Tretinoin + BIG STORYTIME
The dreaded purging period! Sorry for the late post—this is my progress form last week—- This is the end of my fifth week going on Spirinolactone (pills for hormonal acne that I take 1x a day) and Tretinoin. Since last week, I have made some significant changes to my routine, for reasons to be told at the end of the post. I purchased both treatments from Apostrophe, so they have been prescribed by a dermatologist. My Apostrophe cream formula is 0.025% Tretinoin and 4% Niacinimide. I have normal, but dehydrated skin. I’m looking to add more in as I adjust to treatment. My routine is as follows: AM HONEST - Gentle Gel Cleanser dear, klairs - Supple Preparation Unscented Facial Toner COSRX - Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence HONEST - Hydrogel Cream PURITO - Centella Green Level Unscented Sun SPF50+ Supergoop! - Glow Stick SPF 50 (I reapply with this spf every 2 hours) PM DHC - Deep Cleansing Oil HONEST - Gentle Gel Cleanser dear, klairs - Supple Preparation Unscented Facial Toner COSRX - Hydrium Centella Aqua Soothing Ampoule 40ml (for added hydration!) HONEST - Hydrogel Cream Apostrophe formula (using this after moisturizer so I can have a buffer between the tret and my skin) CeraVe - Healing Ointment The purging period, yeah that’s still happening 😩 Ok, so I was previously using the Aveeno spf. The white cast on this was horrendous, so I have been finding myself harshly rubbing the sunscreen in to get rid of the cast. And since I would reapply every two hours, I’d repeat this process frequently throughout the day. After a while, the consequences of harshly rubbing my face became obvious. For the past two weeks, my skin was ultra sensitive. My face stung while touching it. The Cerave hydrating cleanser and Cerave moisturizer for normal to dry skin would BURN. However, none of the other products I used burned. So, I ditched the Aveeno SPF, thanks to a very helpful commenter, and bought the Purito Centella Unscented Sunscreen and... white cast begone! I love to use the Supergoop glow stick to reapply because it leaves my face with a fresh glow. I no longer needed to rub my face so harshly. Yet only the Cerave cleanser and moisturizer still continued to sting. So, I switched my cleanser and moisturizer to Honest Beauty. I have used these products in the past, and loved them. I’ve never had a problem. So I used them, and no sting! I still have no idea why the Cerave cleanser and moisturizer continues to sting now. But for now, I’m halting use.

Restarting my Acne Journey
Restarting my Acne Journey
Hi all! This is a little vulnerable for me: I usually never post or go outside without at least a bit of makeup. BUT! I’m restarting my efforts to fix my acne with a new routine, and I know there’s a lot of people who struggle with this. So, here’s my face! I’ve been using DIFFERIN - DIFFERIN Acne Treatment Gel for two weeks now and the purging is starting, so hopefully this is the worst it will get. I’m hoping with continued use to see some progress and to track it here! I have experienced stinging and some severe sensitivity while my skin gets used to it, but after two weeks the stinging is dying down. I’ve been dealing with hormonal/cystic acne for 10 years now, and believe it or not this is the best it’s been in years. I’ve slowly figured out what works for me, and wanted to share those tips. BUT, if I’ve learned anything in the past ten years about acne it’s that you need to listen to your own face: even if 1000% swear by something, if it doesn’t work for you, it doesn’t work for you. I have super oily skin, so if you have dry or combo, the listed routine will most likely not work. But for my oily pals, here’s the routine that’s improved my skin so far: Morning: FARMACY - Clean Bee Ultra Gentle Facial Cleanser I love how calming and non-stripping this cleanser is, but it still manages to reduce my oil FARMACY - Very Cherry Bright 15% Clean Vitamin C Serum with Acerola Cherry to target acne scarring Neutrogena - Hydro Boost Water Gel Sunscreen Lotion SPF 30 to protect from sun damage and irritation. I HAVE TO use a gel formula for moisturizers/sunscreens, or else I break out like crazy. That’s the number one issue I’ve figured out with my face. This one has a nice gel cream texture and is lightly moisturizing, but doesn’t turn me into an oil slick. Night: First cleanse/makeup removal with GOOD MOLECULES - Instant Cleansing Balm Second cleanse with FARMACY - Clean Bee Ultra Gentle Facial Cleanser Apply pea sized drop of DIFFERIN - DIFFERIN Acne Treatment Gel If my skin is feeling good and non-irritated, I use LANEIGE - Special Care Water Sleeping Mask for just a bit of moisture overnight If my skin is feeling irritated/tight, I’ll use GOOD MOLECULES - Squalane Oil for a heavier hit of moisture. If my skin is REALLY irritated, I follow with Dr. Jart+ - Cicapair Tiger Grass Calming Mist to try and calm my skin down So here we go! Hoping to see some improvements next month. Trying my best to be patient and consistent this time, which is the hardest but most important part. Thanks for reading, and good luck on your acne journey! #CherieCreator #acne #pimples #acnecare #cysticacne #hormonalacne

New Skincare routine burning (help!!!)
New Skincare routine burning (help!!!)
This is a rundown of my evening skincare routine (for the morning one I just leave out the differin and sunscreen) Boscia Exfoliating Peel Gel-I think it’s an effective physical exfoliator thought it’s EXTREMELY sensitive to moisture, and it will make your skin feel weird if it experiences moisture. Cerave Hydrating Cleanser-At first it was a good gentle cleanser but recently it started to burn around my upper cheeks and lower forehead for some reason. I am definitely going to switch this out once I am finished with this product. The Ordinary Niacinamide and Zinc Serum-I’ve used this product in the past before and had zero problems with it but I’ve been experiencing some SERIOUS burning from it. I’m not sure whether I am using too much of it but I have been experiencing redness in certain areas Differin Gel-So far I am on week one and a half on this product. I feel like my skin is definitely purging from this product though it does not irritate my skin as much as the serum does. Versed Dew Point Moisturizing Gel Cream-This moisturizer is REALLY light. My skin absorbs it in a flash, and so I wish it came with a bigger size for the price but it works. One thing noted is that it makes the burning slightly worse when I put it over my face after the serum in the morning Neutrogena Clear Face Sunscreen SPF 55-HORRIBLE PRODUCT. It is WAY too strong on my face, it leaves way too many white streaks, and it BURNS BURNS BURNSSSSS my face. I definitely need to find a new sunscreen but I’m not sure where to start. All in all my primary concern would have to be the niacinamide serum and the differin gel. I see so much potential in the serum but it is not working out for me like it did before. I did not read anyone with issues using both the serum and the gel though I still suspect there might be troubleshooting involved.
