The best face serum to transform your skin
I have combination skin. My t-zone is oily while the rest part of my face is very dry. it is also easy for my skin to occur acne around the forehead. I have the different serum to use for different skin problems. SkinCeuticals’s Hydrating B5 Gel SKINCEUTICALS - Hydrating B5 Gel This is an expensive serum but I think the price worth it. it is a very hydrating gel and it helps to lock the moisture in my skin, leaves skin soft and smooth. The texture is lightweight, a little bit thick but not greasy. It absorbs quickly, a little amount of this goes a long way. It is gentle and comfortable for sensitive skin. I also use it before makeup to avoid using premier in summer. In summer I use it as a moisturizer. I only apply thermal water and then this serum. It makes my skin cool and refreshed. In winter I use it before moisturizer to keep my skin hydrated and soft. Drunk Elephant’s B-Hydra Intensive Hydration Serum DRUNK ELEPHANT - B-Hydra Intensive Hydration Serum When I added this to my daily skincare routine I noticed there was a huge difference in terms of hydration. It helps me to reduce redness and dryness, especially in winter there was no crack anymore. The texture is lightweight and feels gentle and hydrating, sinks into the skin fast. It can also be used before making up Aēsop’s Parsley Seed Anti-Oxidant Serum Aesop - Parsley Seed Anti-Oxidant Serum This one is an anti-aging serum that can hydrate and soften my combination/sensitive skin. I use this one for anti-aging and smooth the fine wrinkles around my face. It contains natural ingredients, makes the serum very gentle and it has a strong scent. The texture is lightweight but it needs a long time to absorb it. I feel this one is sticky. only one drop goes a long way. my skin feels like silk and soft after applying this. However, in winter, I found this can only provide limited-time hydration during the day. it does not have long term effects in a very dry place. in the cold season, I have to apply moisturizer for extra hydration. In conclusion, I like B5 the best from its texture and effectiveness and then a drunk elephant. Aesop is a good serum but I don’t really like its texture.
Empties - Rapid Fire Reviews 🔥
Let’s try something different, shall we? I usually go on IG stories to share my empties, but I figured I’d just post them & do a rapid fire review on the products since there are some really good ones here! 🌸 Innisfree Volcanic Clusters Pore Clearing Facial Foam $12 - This is a GREAT cleanser - I received this product from @octoly for review & I’m glad I did because I probably wouldn’t have tried this cleanser or products from this brand otherwise. This cleanser has Jeju volcanic clusters in the formula that help exfoliate & clear your pores. This cleanser feels so luxurious as it lathers into a silky foam and it never left my skin feeling stripped. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Sol de Janiero Coco Cabana Moisturizing Body Cream Cleanser $25 - I’m genuinely sad that this is empty; I’ll definitely be repurchasing this ASAP! This is a bit runny for a cream cleanser, but a little goes a long way - it lathers beautifully; leaves your skin clean, hydrated, soft & smells amazing! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Not Pot Elderberry CBD + Immunity Gummies $39.99 - I’ve been loving Not Pot gummies for a year now, and the Elderberry Immunity flavor take the cake! As someone who has an autoimmune illness, I can confidently say that these have helped with sleep, anxiety and my chronic pain. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Kopari Beauty Coconut Oil Deodorant $14 - This was my first go at trying a natural deodorant since the deodorant cream that I tried from another brand, which was a complete failure. I was able to get two of these for the price of one during a sale at Sephora - I use deodorant morning & night, and this has lasted SO long! This deodorant is great for anyone who wants to transition to a natural deodorant; I didn’t experience any purging and leaves me sweat free / stink free all day! 🌟🌟🌟🌟 Youth to the People Adaptogen Deep Moisture Cream $58 (for full size) - This was the first product that I tried from YTTP that made me fall in love with their brand & products! I love this moisturizer for my nighttime routine as it is super hydrating. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Grande Cosmetics Lash Enhancing Serum $65 (for full size) - I will definitely be repurchasing this as soon as I have the extra money to do so, consider it’s pretty expensive! I honestly put off using this product for so long because I was convinced without trying that it was a gimmicky product. Boy, was I wrong! My lashes have never looked so long & full! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Drunk Elephant Shaba Eye Complex $60 (for full size) - This is without a doubt my favorite eye cream to use during my nighttime routine. It keeps my under eye area so smooth & hydrated. I have seen a major difference in the appearance of fine lines, baggy eyes and dullness. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Drunk Elephant B-Hydra Serum $48 (for full size) - This is hands down my most used DE product! I use this everyday morning & night as part of my routines. This product single handedly saves my skin in the winter from the dry air. My skin never feels dry since using this! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
My Favourite AHA Serum is $29
$29.50 USD to be exact- even less if you catch it during one of the many 15-20% off sales Paula’s Choice does frequently. I’ve tried everything from SUNDAY RILEY - Good Genes All-In-One Lactic Acid Treatment to FARMACY - Honeymoon Glow Serum and DRUNK ELEPHANT - T.L.C. Framboos Glycolic Resurfacing Night Serum but this gentle yet effective gel-lotion wins the coveted AHA slot in my PM routine. I have combination skin and a love of scientifically-satisfactory skincare thanks to having “sensitive skin”- quotations because fragrance and essential oils are bad for all skin in the long run. PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Perfecting 8% AHA Lotion is a light lotion that soaks in quickly with an almost gel-like consistency, packaged in a convenient and hygienic pump. I refrigerate it (it’s like 90°F outside) and it still hasn’t clogged so I love the container! The formula is, full stop, amazing. 8% glycolic acid is suspended in a variety of non-irritating humectants and emollients, offering hydration as well as sealing that hydration in, nourishing skin even as it unglued the dead skin cells to allow them to be sloughed off the next time you cleanse. Allantoin, vitamin e, bisabolol, and a licorice root derivative soothe skin, combatting redness and sensitivity- a wonderful bonus considering it’s an exfoliant! This never sensitizes my delicate skin, even when I forget my schedule and use it a couple days in a row. I always wake up to such a glow and smooth, supple texture. So soft. I’m a huge fan and recommend it for any skin type considering its light yet hydrating texture 🙌🏽

Retinol is AMAZING!
✨I have sensitive combination skin and my biggest and constant skin concern is hormonal acne. It’s a tough cycle because by the time you get it clear again, it feels like it comes back but one thing I’ve added a few months ago that has helped tremendously is retinol! ✨Retinol is a product that helps increase skin cell turnover so for me that ends up looking like breakouts healing faster and less breakouts overall. It can also help with fine lines! ✨Lately, I’ve been using A-Passioni by Drunk Elephant after double cleansing at night. It is a fairly strong retinol and I am really enjoying it. ✨When using a retinol, you want to do a patch test on your hand to make sure it works well with your skin. Then you want to slowly incorporate it in small amounts into your routine. I use it at night so I can use my vitamin C during the day personally. Tips- -Incorporate slowly -You may experience some skin purging and the amount of time for this varies per person but it can be a few weeks. -It can help using it with a heavier moisturizer or something like the CeraVe Healing Ointment. -I occasionally use a gentle exfoliant like the new Sand and Sky Enzyme Powder Polish to remove any dry skin or peeling that occurs from it. This has decreased for me over time. DRUNK ELEPHANT - A-Passioni Retinol Cream

Drunk elephant 🐘: worth the hype?
Skin type: combination. Skin concerns: fine lines, wrinkles, dullnes, pores. Drunk elephant 🐘 is a brand that you can see all over the internet, most beauty bloggers have something of this brand and don’t hesitate to take a picture since their packaging is very colorful. But... are these two DE products really worth the hype? DRUNK ELEPHANT - Virgin Marula Antioxidant Face Oil Key ingredients: Virgin Marula oil. Price: $72 for 1 oz. Worth the hype?: No. The first time I saw this bottle (full size), I fell in love with it 😍. The truth is that it took a long time to try this product and when I finally had it in my hands... meh 😑 it's like any other Virgin Marula oil and the truth is that there are thousands on the market at cheaper prices. I'm glad I bought “the littles” pack. DRUNK ELEPHANT - B-Hydra Intensive Hydration Serum Key ingredients: pro-vitamin B5, pineapple ceramide, sodium hyaluronate. Texture: lightweight serum. Price: $48 for 1.69 oz. Worth the hype?: Yes. I like the versatility of this hydrating serum, it can be used alone or in combination with other products. It’s quickly absorbed leaving the skin hydrated and fresh, a little goes a long way. I combine it with Virgin Marula oil and vitamin C. I think the price is reasonable for the amount of product you receive. What do you think of them? 🔎
DRUNK ELEPHANT-B-Hydra Intensive Hydration Serum
So this mini comparison has been a long time coming. Pictured here are the current Vitamin C serums I have tried. There have been others but these are the current ones, and the ones that seem to fit into this comparison. My skin type is combination. Slightly sensitive at times but can handle most. Main concern is pigmentation. First is the famous drunkelephant C-Firma. I first tried this a when meccamaxima first came to NZ. Its star ingredients 15% L-absorbic Acid, Ferulic Acid and Pumpkin Ferment. Has a host other good ingredients (please slide through pics). I have really enjoyed using this but I saw some brightening but not much fading of pigmentation which is what I hope for. It’s a great serum with great antioxidants but the price point always got me searching for other on the market. Retails $138NZD I then found the wishtrend Pure Vitamin C 21.5% Advanced serum. Having a high percentage of 21.5% in a base of Sea Buckthorn Water. This one was a bit to strong for me, I kept in the fridge to keep it stable as I couldn’t use it all the time. I would dilute it with other serums to make it work. Not quite right for me at the time but might explore again at a later date. $42NZD. Next bottle is the klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin Drop. I wasn’t sure why I originally got this 5% L-Asorbic Acid, so low was it going to do anything????!!!. This gem came in handy when I over exfoliate or when I get a Retinol rash!!! I found a new love for this serum, I don’t like skipping on the Vit c but sometimes my skin has been sensitised so this gem comes in!! Does have some essential oils in it but doesn’t have a fragrance. Soooooo I have saved the best (imo) for last. maelove Glow Maker Serum. I started doing some research and this serum fit my requirements. Has 15% L-Asorbic acid and Ferulic Acid. Plus Vitamin E and Hyaluronic Acid. So I have been using this serum for about 5 weeks and absolutely love it!! Really light consistency sinks in after about 2 minutes, I use a generous amount and use on the back of my hands and décolletage. I don’t plan on using past 3 months because of oxidation.
DRUNK ELEPHANT-C-Firma Vitamin C Day Serum
I love vitamin c in my skincare! I use a vitamin C serum daily. I have dry skin. I also have some sun damage from skin and mild scarring from pimples I couldn’t leave alone. Vitamin C have so many benefits. It’s a powerful antioxidant and neutralizes free radicals. It aids in the regeneration and turnover in cells. It brightens skin and fades dark spots. DRUNK ELEPHANT - C-Firma Vitamin C Day Serum this serum is one of the most potent on the market. Unfortunately because it is so potent it is also fairly unstable, meaning it has a very short shelf life. This product oxidizes quickly which is unfortunate for such a pricy serum. It works extremely well but it also has a mildly unpleasant scent which I like to describe as “beef sticks” aside from those downsides this really is still a great serum!

Ingredient Highlight: HYALURONIC ACID
Ingredient: Hyaluronic Acid Treats: Dehydrated skin What it does: Acts like a magnet to attract and hold on to moisture on the skin Regulates the hydration in the skin Plumps skin (which then diminishes the look of lines and wrinkles!) Favorite Hyaluronic Acid Products: SKINCEUTICALS - Hydrating B5 Gel The #1 essential face serum for night and day! It’s my favorite hydrating product because the Hyaluronic Acid seriously plumps up the skin and brings hydration to the surface of the skin. I apply a few drops of this on my palms and press into the skin. It’s super lightweight and watery feeling but does amazing things for my skin! LA ROCHE-POSAY - Hydraphase Intense Hyaluronic Acid Mask This mask is so unique to other hydrating masks in the market. Unlike most other masks, this mask feels lightweight and not too heavy on the skin but still extremely hydrating. It’s perfect for everyone from dry to oily skin because it adds so much hydration into the skin without clogging pores! I use this whenever my skin is feeling particularly parched, during travel, before/after a long flight, etc.
