The most crucial step in our everyday morning routine is sunscreen. It should be worn daily to protect our skin from harmful UV rays and help slow down signs of aging. It doesn’t have to cost you a fortune. In fact, I think the best ones out there are from the drugstore. Most sunscreens I have tried are all below $35. In this post, let me share my thoughts on some of them. ⁣ ⁣ ⁣Eucerin - Daily Protection Moisturizing Face Lotion Sunscreen SPF 30
combination, spf 30 | A staple product. One of my top favorites. This is a moisturizer + sunscreen. I especially like using this alone on hotter days. It’s very moisturizing. Skin may look a lil shiny after applying but fades as it settles. May leave white streaks if not blended properly. It is lightweight so it’s perfect for oily skin. ⁣ ⁣ ⁣sun bum - Face Lotion SPF 50
chemical spf 50 | this sunscreen is oil-free and water-resistant. Very lightweight and I think has the thinnest consistency among all sunscreens I have tried. Sinks in beautifully and leaves no white cast. ⁣ ⁣ ⁣DIFFERIN - Oil Absorbing Moisturizer SPF 30
chemical spf 30 | affordable moisturizer + sunscreen. Good for oily skin. It moisturizes well but dries down matte. It doesn’t leave white cast. You get 118ml of product for its price $10.49 which I think is a great deal. ⁣ ⁣ ⁣CeraVe - InVisibleZinc Sunscreen Face Lotion SPF 30
mineral spf 30 | Overall a good sunscreen. Has ceramides and niacinamide to provide additional benefits. If you don’t mind a lil white cast, this would still work well for you. It is non-comedogenic, oil-free so would work well with oily skin. It may pill slightly throughout the day. Does not work well for very dry skin or with dry patches. ⁣ ⁣ ⁣CeraVe - Ultra-Light Moisturizing Lotion SPF 30 For Normal To Oily Skin
chemical spf 30 | compared to the InvisibleZinc, this would work better for most skin types. It dries down to a matte finish while still being moisturizing enough. It also is very lightweight - as the name implies. It comes in a 50ml pump bottle which is not much. If you’re applying enough sunscreen daily, you’easily go through it in 2-3 weeks. ⁣ ⁣ ⁣CeraVe - AM Facial Moisturizing Lotion SPF 30
combination spf 30 | good sunscreen but my least favorite of all Cerave sunscreens. It feels heavy on my oily skin and leaves me feeling a lil sticky. This is great for dry skin but may leave white cast - especially if not blended well. ⁣ ⁣ ⁣CLINIQUE - Pep-Start Daily UV Protector Broad Spectrum SPF 50
mineral spf 50 | this has been my most favorite lately. It is a tinted sunscreen and I think would work well even for darker skin tone. Formula feels weightless and blends so easily. Honestly, you could barely feel it. It’s perfect for no-makeup days. It is oil-free and non-comedogenic. It comes in a small bottle of 30ml for $20, which is the only catch. But overall, awesome sunscreen. I highly recommend. ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣PAULA'S CHOICE - Resist Smoothing Primer Serum SPF30
chemical spf 30 | Wonderful primer + sunscreen. I have to say I liked this better than I expected. I initially underestimated it but I eventually found myself reaching for it on days I have to wear foundation. This gives a flawless finish and even works well with powder foundation. Gives you extra sun protection plus makes your makeup last longer. It retails for $30 but I think it’s worth the price. The 30ml tube lasts a long time. ⁣ ⁣ ⁣elta md SKINCARE - UV Physical Broad-Spectrum SPF 41
mineral spf 41 | has to be one of my top favorite mineral sunscreens. It comes in a tinted formula so slightly helps hide imperfections. It’s oil-free, great for post-procedure, and never irritated my sensitized skin. This is a lil heavier compared to the Clinique one but definitely still light enough for oily skin. Great for all skin types and dermatologists’ no. 1 brand recommendation, you can never go wrong with this sunscreen. ⁣ ⁣ ⁣elta md SKINCARE - UV Shield Full-Body Sunscreen Broad-Spectrum SPF 45
combination spf 45 | sheer, oil-free facial sunscreen. This goes on smoothly and sinks in quickly. Works well under makeup and does not leave a greasy residue. Oil-free and safe for sensitive skin. This may leave a slight white cast for deeper skin tone. ⁣ ⁣ I have also previously used korean sunscreens from Neogen, Cosrx and Purito.⁣ The NEOGENLAB - Day-Light Protection Sun Screen SPF 50 PA+++
has heavy fragrance so overall not a fan of it. ⁣ The PURITO - Centella Green Level Unscented Sun SPF50+
has a great consistency but left me with red irritated skin. ⁣ The COSRX - Aloe Soothing Sun Cream SPF50 PA+++
worked better but the PURITO - Comfy Water Sun Block
is one I really loved.

Routine Suggestions? 🤪
As you can see, I have normal acne, though sometimes it can be cystic / nodule acne that has no whitehead, its just inflamed and hurts a lot. I also [obviously] have pretty enlarged pores and skin texture problems with some dark spots and uneven tone. My skin type is combination / dehydrated / acne-prone My current routine (in order) is this: AM: - CeraVe - Hydrating Face Cleanser For Normal To Dry Skin I enjoy how this makes my skin feel because my skin can be really dehydrated, though I don’t know if this is the best cleanser for my skin? Its just something I’ve used with some luck. - J.R. WATKINS - Heritage Store Rosewater & Glycerin Spray I enjoy how this toner feels since its light and semi-hydrating, it doesn’t bother my skin and its calming - The Ordinary - Marine Hyaluronics - The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 both because I have dehydrated skin, so hydration is key 🔑 for me - The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% for the pores ⚔️ - SKINFOOD - Royal Honey Propolis Enrich Essence I looove this essence for the hydration - COSRX - Advanced Snail 92 All in One Cream I do love this moisturizer because its the only one I’ve found that actually hydrates my skin - DESERT ESSENCE - Organic Jojoba Oil I use just about two drops of jojoba to seal in the moisture by patting my face - Eucerin - Daily Protection Moisturizing Face Lotion Sunscreen SPF 30 lastly, SPF, I don’t really like this one because it leaves a horrible whitecast (even on my fair skin!) but it does keep my face moisturized too PM: - GARNIER - SkinActive Micellar Cleansing Water All-in-1 Cleanser & Makeup Remover I am thinking to switch to the rosewater version, but maybe a probiotic / hydrating toner would be better? 🤔 - CeraVe - Hydrating Face Cleanser For Normal To Dry Skin - J.R. WATKINS - Heritage Store Rosewater & Glycerin Spray - The Ordinary - Marine Hyaluronics - The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 - The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% - SKINFOOD - Royal Honey Propolis Enrich Essence - COSRX - Advanced Snail 92 All in One Cream - DESERT ESSENCE - Organic Jojoba Oil I also use The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution every TUE and SAT for exfoliation I’m mostly posting this to expand my skincare trials and see what you guys think for combating acne / dehydration / large pores / uneven tone / texture! I love seeing everyone’s comment on other posts about things to try. So since my routine is still fairly new (3 weeks) I want to see what you guys suggest from your experience! 🙂

FIRST POST/ONE WEEK RESULTS ✨
Hi there! I’m so excited to share my skincare journey with all of you and hopefully we can learn from each other’s experiences. I’ve already learned a lot from Cherie and that’s why I decided to purchase some products from The Ordinary and give them a try to save my skin. I have oily skin and as you can see I’m struggling with acne, dark spots, and dark circles. Not sure what type of acne I have, but it seems hormonal to me. I started to break out like this about two months ago. Before that, I’d break out once in a while during my period or when eating too much junk food. A week ago (Oct. 10th), I started the following skincare routine: AM - Cleanse Cetaphil - Cetaphil Gentle Foaming Cleanser - Treat The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% and The Ordinary - Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG (I think I had a reaction to caffeine solution - my right eye started itching so I discontinued it from now) - Moisturize CeraVe - AM Facial Moisturizing Lotion SPF 30 PM - Remove makeup CeraVe - Makeup Removing Cleanser Cloths - Cleanse Cetaphil - Cetaphil Gentle Foaming Cleanser - Treat The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% - Moisturize CeraVe - Daily Moisturizing Lotion For Normal To Dry Skin Please swipe to see the results so far! I’m really happy with The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% since it’s clearing out the acne. My face feels and looks better and I think there’s a small improvement. I’d love to hear your advice and suggestions! Also, I’d like to implement The Ordinary - Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solutionand The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solutionto my skincare routine. Any suggestions on how/when to use them? Thank you in advance!

Morning Routine ☀️
I’ve been trying to incorporate more products into my morning routine so I can try out more and also take more time to self care before I start the day! 💕 What are you morning skincare favourites? Mini Review of each product @isntree Green Tea fresh Toner: I’ve been using this for a week now and I have been really enjoying it! It’s super lightweight so I like to use more hydrating products after for my dry skin. I find that this calms my skin and really preps it for the other products I layer over it. I think all skin types can benefit from this product but I think those with acne prone or oily skin will love this toner! I can’t wait to keep using this to see how my skin likes it. @belifcanada Bergamot Herbal Extract Toner: This is so lovely at hydrating the skin without being sticky. This is perfect for the morning because I feel so refreshed using it and it doesn’t irritate my skin! I also really liked this toner during the summer when my skin was more combo. This product just makes my overall complexion look more glowy and radiant. @bentoncosmetic Snail Bee High Content Essence (PR): This is so deeply hydrating! I’ve been loving this product ever since it’s been colder here! It’s also not sticky at all which is great since I don’t like sticky products for the day time. This makes my skin so plump and healthy! @logicallyskin , Skin Multi-lifting cream (PR) : I’m going to do a more in depth review of this very soon 😉 but I’ve really been enjoying this cream! @cosrx Aloe Soothing Sun Cream: This is one of my top sunscreens because it sinks well into the skin, has no white cast and leaves the skin feeling so moisturized. I’ve been reaching for this one a lot lately due to the colder weather and it’s been great!!

#1 DERM ADVICE EVERYONE NEEDS👍🏽
for someone who has been dealing with acne for over 10 years, I’ve visited my fair share of derms and have done my own research through the web to find out more about ingredients and such to get my skin feeling and looking beautiful but also making sure it’s healthy 👌🏽 SWIPE👉🏽 to see me skin now vs a year ago 😛 So every single time anyone gives advice when it comes to have amazing skin is always about SPF! Sun protection is the #1 thing we all (girls & boys) regardless of skin concerns or skin types, everyone needs to find a good sunscreen to use!🌞 here are some reasons for sun protection and why it’s the most important skincare tip out there🤗 UV rays are some of the worst damage that can be done to your skin overtime and can lead to permanent damage to the skin Make sure to use a sunscreen everyday (365 days) regardless of if you are inside, outside, it’s raining or snowing, there is not sun etc. ( this has personally helped me a TON with my hyperpigmention from my acne) SPF helps make sure your skin is perfected to ensure the other products you do use to target things like fine lines, wrinkles, dull skin, hyperpigmention and acne actually works for you. Without using an SPF, you compromise the strength and integrating of all the expensive products you buy to help with your targeted skin concerns it OFC lowers your chance of skin cancer which is the most common form of cancer in the USA (legit just wear spf, like it’s not hard and this is super preventable) the best form of anti aging out there is a good SPF protecting you from both UVA & UVB so what are you waiting for? I’m sure we all want smooth skin but healthy skin is super important snd SPF is crucial for any kind of skin and all skin concerns 💕 also.... here are my two favourites! PURITO - Centella Green Level Safe Sun a great lightweight moisturizer; perfect for acne prone and oily skin types and melinated skin as this has NO white cast! COSRX - Aloe Soothing Sun Cream SPF50 PA+++ Great but this one isn’t better then the other as it has a SLIGHT white cast in the beginning and it’s not as hydrating as the purito one. If you like more of a matter finish to the skin, you will love this! Also non irritating at all! So that a plus for oily and sensitive skin #cheriepartner

My Favorite Sunscreen from Korea🌱
I have sensitive combination skin that is acne-prone and needs extra hydration in the fall and winter. 🍃 After seeing many posts on it on Instagram, I decided I needed to try the Centella Green Level Unscented Sunscreen by Purito for myself. I purchased it from Amazon for about $15. 🌱 This is a water-based formula with Centella extracts to protect skin from UV rays and harmful environments without any stickiness or white cast on the skin. It is also free of essential oils and fragrance. It is SPF 50 which I also like because it’s important to have between 30 and 50 on a sunscreen. 🍃 I adore this product! It is so soothing and makes skin feel soft rather than sticky. It’s a thicker white texture at first but sinks in beautifully and really calms my skin which is easily irritated. I use this mainly when the weather is colder because it’s just very moisturizing and gives me that extra boost that I like. It has a really light almost earthy scent that I don’t notice, sometimes even when applying. The amount I have in that picture covered both hands and the tops of my arms and sunk in gorgeously! I use it at the end of my routine like any other SPF and also use a moisturizer beforehand. 🌱 I’d repurchase this over and over again! Have you tried this or any Purito products yet? Pregnancy Melasama Impoving
Giving birth to my beautiful baby girl has definitely been the greatest joy of my life and I wouldn't change anything. 1 year after giving birth my neck still looked like the the BEFORE picture. I think it was towards the end of my first trimester I started getting this dark discoloration on my neck and my doctor diagnosed me with melasma. She said it was due to the pregnancy nothing serious and will fade over time after I gave birth. So after giving birth I wait 1 year and nothing changes!!!! I started all different serums but what seemed to work the best was a combination of NATURIUM - Alpha Arbutin Serum 2% , NATURIUM - Tranexamic Topical Acid 5% and NATURIUM - Vitamin C Face Oil layered during the day and making sure I finished with sunscreen PURITO - Centella Green Level Unscented Sun SPF50+ As you can see, by the before and after, using these products constantly has greatly improved the melasma on my neck and my face. These pictures were taken 3 months apart.

Derm-Approved Routine for Acne and/or Aging!
I have sensitive, combination skin with post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, eczema, and hormonal acne, which led me to reach out to Apostrophe to see an online dermatologist. I was prescribed tretinoin, which doubles as both a stellar topical treatment for acne and the gold standard in anti-aging! To go along with my retinoid, my derm suggested simple products that center on hydration and respecting the skin barrier, plus avoiding skin triggers like fragrance and essential oils. They worked wonderfully for me and I experienced a lessening of acne and PIH, until stress and COVID mask-wearing got in the way. But I’ve noticed over the last 4.5 months that the few fine lines plaguing my forehead/mouth have all but disappeared, with blemishes resolving more quickly than they had previously. I’d definitely recommend these products for those that want to keep their skincare as simple (but effective) as possible and/or those that have “tried it all”! • Gentle Cleanser: LA ROCHE-POSAY - Toleriane Hydrating Gentle Face Cleanser and CeraVe - Hydrating Facial Cleanser are fantastic cleansers! Harsh surfactants can remove not only the day’s grime and makeup, but they can easily strip your skin of skin-friendly lipids that nourish your skin barrier. Respect your skin barrier by utilizing gentle surfactants and humectants. • Prescription Retinoid: Apostrophe 0.05% Tretinoin + 4% Niacinamide Lotion ★★★★★ is absolutely wonderful for topically treating acne and/or preventing signs of aging. It’s not harsh at all when used 1-3 times per week, my skin easily adjusting with minimal peeling/irritation. Tretinoin is a retinoid, increasing cellular turnover and reducing sebum production, while niacinamide at 4-5% has been shown to not only reduce sebum production but also reduce the occurrence of acne breakouts. • Simple Moisturizer: You can’t go wrong with a simple, nourishing moisturizer after a retinoid! CeraVe - PM Facial Moisturizing Lotion is fantastic, starring humectants like glycerin and sodium hyaluronate alongside skin barrier-supporting ceramides and cholesterol. The inclusion of niacinamide makes it additionally soothing! I also love stratia - Liquid Gold and NATURIUM - Plant Ceramide Rich Moisture Cream • Occlusive Balm: CeraVe - Healing Ointment is the key to my zero-peeling tretinoin journey! Using this as a spot treatment kept my skin delightfully soft and moisturized, as occlusives form “breathable seals” to hold in water. • Sunscreen: Just use sunscreen. Every day, reapplied every two hours. elta md SKINCARE - UV Clear Broad Spectrum SPF 46 is the one my derm recommended and I love it- check out PURITO - Comfy Water Sun Block for an affordable substitute! #CheriePartner

My acne journey through birth control
In my first pic that was my face before I started birth control, pretty clear, occasional pimple here and there. But then i started the pill for my terrible periods and i started breaking out like crazy. Bumps all over my forehead and chin as you can see in the second and third pic. I’ve started to update skin routine a little and the 4th pic is where i’m at now. any tips anyone has would be great! this is my skin care routine now AM CeraVe - SA Smoothing Cleanser i started using this and i think it helped my bumps a lot. I have seen some improvement. HERITAGE STORE - Rosewater Spray i like this product i think it helps hydrate my skin. It also helped with my oily skin too. When i run out of the spray i’m going to use the HERITAGE STORE - Rosewater Facial Toner for the hyaluronic acid. so if anyone has any experience with this product let me know! THE inkey LIST - Caffeine Eye Cream Helps with my puffy eyes! Seen some improvement with my eye bags over time! CeraVe - Daily Moisturizing Lotion For Normal To Dry Skin This is a basic moisturizer and i like it. i have oily skin and i like how lightweight it is. I also like the added ceramides for my skin barrier. PURITO - Centella Green Level Unscented Sun SPF50+ PURITO - Comfy Water Sun Block i think the green level sun screen makes me pretty greasy. The comfy water sunblock is way better for my oily skin, i just have to rub it in longer since it is a mineral sunscreen. PM - Softymo Deep Cleansing Oil i like this cleansing oil it gets off my sunscreen and mascara well. it doesn’t leave a greasy residue when i wash it off either. I love to try new products lol so when i finish this i might try THE inkey LIST - Oat Cleansing Balm or BIODERMA - Atoderm Shower Oil(i know this says shower oil but on amazon it says cleansing oil, shower oil, many purposes and the reviews say it takes their makeup and sunscreen off really well) so once again if anyone has used these products let me know how they were! CeraVe - Foaming Facial Cleanser For Normal To Oily Skin Pretty basic i like it. Really no complaints or anything that sticks out about this product that i LOVE LOVE. When i finish this i might try LA ROCHE-POSAY - Toleriane Purifying Foaming CleanserLet me know if anyone has used this and their experience with it! Nizoral - Anti Dandruff Shampoo i use this as a face mask for about 5 mins. i don’t use this every night, i maybe use this 2-3 times a night. Kinda burns but i feel it works DIFFERIN - DIFFERIN Acne Treatment Gel really just did not work on my skin, i haven’t seen much improvement because of this. i’ve been using this for 2 months THE inkey LIST - Caffeine Eye Cream CeraVe - Daily Moisturizing Lotion For Normal To Dry Skin

Skin care routine | morning edition 🌞
I have been doing the same skincare routine for the past couple of months now and I think it’s the right one for what my skin is going through at this point of my life. After I finished my tried and true cleanser (Neutrogena - Hydro Boost Hydrating Cleansing Gel ) I decided to give the LA ROCHE-POSAY - Effaclar Purifying Foaming Gel a try as I had read wonderful things about it on this app. Its a great facial cleanser that doesn’t leave my skin squeaky clean or stripped of moisture and thoroughly removes any leftover skincare from the night before. After cleansing I use the SEPHORA COLLECTION - Ultra Glow Serum: Glow + Strengthen Vitamin C Serum all over my face. I place a couple of drops in my hand and gently massage it into my skin, careful not to be rough or tugging at my skin. I follow up with the KYPRIS - ANTIOXIDANT DEW following the same steps as above, gently massaging the product around my face and neck. Lastly I use my NEOGENLAB - Day-Light Protection Sun Screen SPF 50 PA+++ once all the other serums have been absorbed to protect my skin from damaging UV rays. A couple years ago I developed a lot of freckles around my cheekbones and nose that were never there before, and I know that is a result of unprotected sun exposure. Won’t be making that mistake anymore. This is what works for me. I have combo/ oily skin with a very grease prone t-zone. I find that having a proper morning routine helps curb oil production on my t-zone and moisturizes the dryer patches on the perimeter of my face, which leads to a more seamless and longer lasting makeup application. Xx.

You need to use sunscreen ☀️☀️☀️ !
When I first became aware of the importance of using sunscreen daily to protect from not only skin cancer but also signs of aging, I purchased the neutrogena face shield for $10 at cvs as I believed it to be the best product for me to use. At first I did like this product. However, after a few uses I found that my makeup wouldn’t last very long if I wore the neutrogena face shield underneath as it is very greasy. I also believe this sunscreen clogged my pores as it is very heavy. It was around this time that I began researching Korean skincare and found Soko glam. On their website i discovered the neogen sunscreen, which promised a non greasy formula with sufficient protection from uva and uvb rays. The description of the product promised no flashback and a perfect base for makeup application. The price tag was a little daunting, but I purchased it for around $30. I have no regrets switching sun screens. The neogen sunscreen has lasted me several months now with near daily use. I have not noticed any breakouts while using this product and love the way makeup applies over it. It truly is a non greasy formula which is perfect for combo/oily skin folks like myself. I would definitely repurchase the neogen sunscreen again, but I have a bottle of unopened supergoop waiting for me once I’m done with this one. However I highly recommend it and if the price isn’t an issue, it’s definitely worth a purchase. If it doesn’t work out, Soko glam has a very generous return policy. Xx.

Hormonal Acne Journey Continued!
After roughly 4 months of taking spironolactone, I can say that I’m really happy with my skin! Yes, there is some scarring and minor breakouts, but much better than before! I’ve been using the CeraVe - PM Facial Moisturizing Lotion at night and with sun bum - Face Lotion SPF 50 during the day! I can totally see a difference with a combination of these products. For those of you struggling with hormonal acne, hang in there! It takes time and a lot of trial and error. Speak to your dermatologist and stick to a routine consistently! Also, the cherie community’s support helps ♥️

!!!Skincare Routine!!!
Glossier. - Milky Jelly Cleanser This cleanser is amazing for my oily skin. I use it morning and night and it does not dry out my skin at all. It has a faint fragrance that smells really good and “clean”. My skin feels super soft after I use this and it helps control my oil. cocokind - Rosewater Facial Toner I use this toner in the morning after I cleanse. I mist it directly onto my face and let it dry, sometimes I pat it in a little with my fingertips. I really like this toner because it is not too harsh and it is literally only one ingredient. The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% I use this in the mornings after toner. I have been using it for three months now and it has completely transformed my skin. For as long as I can remember my skin has been dull, covered in little clogged pores (bumps) on my forehead and cheeks and it’s looked horrible. Nothing I tried ever fixed my problem (and I tried everything). Then when I saw reviews for this I thought it was too good to be true but I was wrong. It has been heavenly for my skin and I’m really satisfied with the results. My bumps are gone and my complexion is extremely bright and glowing. CLINIQUE - Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion+ I’ve been using this moisturizer since I was like ten years old and I love it. It never makes me feel greasy and it makes my skin super soft. I use it in the mornings and night. BURT’S BEES - Skin Nourishment Eye Cream I’m really happy with this eye cream because it is for sensitive skin and the skin around my eyes is extremely sensitive. I tried using an eye cream once before and it literally burned the skin around my eyes, made it super red and dry. I was reluctant to try one again but this one has never done that. It makes the skin under my eyes super soft and I love it! I use it both morning and night. sun bum - Face Lotion SPF 50 I use this to complete my morning skincare routine. I like it because it has a slight fragrance but it smells really good. My skin never feels greasy after using it and it absorbs it really well. The only negative to this is that if it gets in my eye it burns a little but other than that it’s good. The Ordinary - Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution I use this as my night toner. I apply it with a cotton pad. I really like this because it literally just sucks out all the dirt from my pores from the day and makes my skin feel super clean. My cotton pad will literally be tinted brown after I use it (gross) but that means its really getting rid of all the dirt and gunk from the day. The Ordinary - Ascorbic Acid 8% + Alpha Arbutin 2% I use this at night and it makes my skin feel super clean and good. The Ordinary - 100% Organic Cold Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil I use this at the end of my night routine, jade roll it on. I love it.

I ❤️ OATS! (Acne routine)
Hi everyone! Since I’ve been struggling with maskne recently, I’ve tried to be minimal with my skincare using ultra-soothing products. Here’s my current routine: AM: Aveeno - Calm + Restore Nourishing Oat Facial Cleanser Love this new cleanser! Super gentle but still effective. FIRST AID BEAUTY - Ultra Repair Wild Oat Hydrating Toner I ❤️ THIS TONER! I live in a college dorm and the bathroom is down the hall, so I use this as soon as I get back to my room after washing my face. Fragrance free (yay!) and soothes my cystic acne. Aveeno - Calm + Restore Oat Gel Moisturizer This gel-cream is great! I’ve used Neutrogena - Hydro Boost Gel-Cream and PURITO - Deep Sea Pure Water Cream as gel moisturizers in the past, but I’ve really been enjoying Aveeno’s new oat version! Clindamycin gel (prescribed by dermatologist) - topical antibiotic, similar to benzoyl peroxide’s antibacterial properties. DIFFERIN - Oil Absorbing Moisturizer SPF 30 Just got this a few days ago. Sunscreen is essential, especially since I’ve been using tretinoin. PM: Same cleanser, toner, and gel-cream. CeraVe - Skin Renewing Night Cream I use this as a thicker moisturizer on top. Non greasy and does not cause breakouts. Tretinoin (prescribes by dermatologist- I wait for my moisturizer to dry and soak in completely, and apply tretinoin after. I find my skin is least irritated that way. I hope bringing my routine back to the basics lets the tretinoin and clindamycin work their magic. I’ll keep you guys updated! 😊❤️❤️

Acne skin 101
Well, I've already wrote a post about my Acne experience. My skincare routine and products...Acne seems like a never-ending battle, doesn't it?  Though products for "acne-prone skin" are currently availaMust Must Muble in the market, skincare products cannot be one-size-fits-all magic potions. It is important to know and understand  1. what type of skin(Dry/ Combination/ Normal/ Oily/ Sensitive)  2. what type of your acne(Hormonal Acne/ Whiteheads/ Papules/ Pustules/ Cystic Acne/ Blackheads/ Blind Pimples) you’re working with; it’s the most important step in discovering an effective way to take care of your skin. Today, I still wanna talk about skincare routine with you guys, cuz no matter what type of acne skin you have, the principles of acne skincare should be the same. I'll add the products I love to use below too. 🖤Skin Care Routine For Acne Prone Skin🖤 Step 1 - Cleanse away the impurities with a cleanser (Morning And Night) ● LA ROCHE-POSAY - Effaclar Medicated Gel Cleanser for Acne Prone Skin ● philosophy - Purity One-Step Facial Cleanser Step 2 - Toner (Morning And Night) ● FIRST AID BEAUTY - Ultra Repair Wild Oat Hydrating Toner Step 3 - Moisturize (Morning And Night) ● FARMACY - Daily Greens Oil-Free Gel Moisturizer with Moringa and Papaya ● CLINIQUE - Moisture Surge Intense Skin Fortifying Hydrator Step 4 - Protect with SPF (Morning and evening) ● elta md SKINCARE - UV Clear Broad Spectrum SPF 46 ● CLINIQUE - Pep-Start Daily UV Protector Broad Spectrum SPF 50 Step 5 - Treatment Product (night) ● LA ROCHE-POSAY - Cicaplast Baume B5 Soothing Repairing Balm ● Differin Gel Adapalene Gel 0.1% Acne Treatment Remember, with acne, less is more. Using too many topical products will make your skin dry and irritate it. Also, acne is not something that will go away overnight. It’s a process which requires immense patience. Give your skin ample time to adjust to the skin care routine for acne prone skin before you see results. When in doubt please make an appointment with your dermatologist who can help you determine what your skin needs. 🖤Other Tips🖤 ● Keep your hands off your face ● Stay out of the sun as much as possible ● Exercise daily ● Learn to be less stressed ● Hydrate yourself ● Follow a healthy diet ● Don't pick or pop your pimples ● Change your sheets at least weekly Great skin doesn’t revolve around genetics alone, your daily habits play a significant role in what you see in the mirror. Follow a healthy diet, drink plenty of water, get enough sleep and use the right products as per your skin type.... There’s no instant fix; you need patience and time to reap the benefits. Sharing is caring. 💕

Pep in your step
CLINIQUE - Pep-Start Daily UV Protector Broad Spectrum SPF 50 Right now I have been really looking for a good SPF to add into my skincare routine. So I started with this one. The main reason I don’t like this product was mostly my fault, I didn’t pay attention to the fact that it has some sort of tint to it. though, it claims the tint is universal to all skin tones.Other than having a white cast because the tint didn’t quite match this product was great! This product is oil, sulfate, paraben and fragrance free. I love that this product is good for all skin types and shouldn’t make you oily throughout the day considering other sunscreen does have that affect with my skin type. If you are looking for a SPF that is good for almost anyone I would definitely consider giving this one a try!

September empties!
Happy October! I’m a few days late, but I wanted to share some thoughts and mini reviews on the products that I finished during the month of September. Saya - Coconut Body Polish This is a HUGE tub, and the scrub itself is very luxurious. The coconut smell is delicious and the shea butter leaves my skin moisturized. The sticker price of $48 is a little too much for me though. unpa.Cosmetics - Bye Bye Cica Toner This is a huge bottle for only $13, but I didn’t notice any real effect on my skin. It feels nice and soothing, but in the same way plain water would feel nice and soothing ¯\_(ツ)_/¯) Maybe this would be better for someone with stubborn redness. The Ordinary - Squalane Cleanser Love this and plan to repurchase! Takes off all my makeup and rinses clean. PAULA'S CHOICE - Omega+ Complex Moisturizer Amazing for very dry skin. I used it when I switched to .05 tret and had flaky, peeling skin, and it felt amazing and saved me from my snake skin. Highly recommend. amika: - Flash Instant Shine Mask Didn’t notice any super dramatic effects, though it’s easy to use and smells amazing. Maybe I would’ve seen more shine if I blow dried my hair. CAUDALIE - Vinoperfect Radiance Serum The Brightening Solution I’ve used samples of this before, and I really like it for its brightening effects, but not enough to pay $70/oz. DRUNK ELEPHANT - Lala Retro Whipped Moisturizer with Cream Nope. Used this on my hands because I was afraid it would break me out. I would also never pay the sticker price for this. HERBIVORE - Orchid Facial Oil I love this oil, but I have less expensive oils that moisturize just as well. I didn’t notice any effects besides moisturizing. A little pricey for me. HERO COSMETICS - Rescue Balm A very cool idea for a product, but now that my cystic acne is under control, I thankfully don’t need it! Loved it though, it helped a lot. LilyAna Naturals - Vitamin C Serum Love love love and will forever repurchase. So moisturizing and brightening, and no vitamin c smell! PAULA'S CHOICE - Resist Smoothing Primer Serum SPF30 I really liked this! Did what it claimed to do and kept my makeup looking good. I like the added SPF as well. Milk MAKEUP - KUSH High Volume Mascara I love how this makes my lashes look, but it does tend to flake throughout the day :( #CheriePartner

DO’S AND DON’T OF FALL SKINCARE
If you’re a skincare junkie, you may already be swapping out some skincare products as fall and winter approach. Since colder weather tends to be harsher and more drying on skin, it makes sense to use different products in different seasons. For reference, my skin is oily and acne-prone, and I use tretinoin every night which can be very drying. In the fall and winter my skin tends to get dry patches. Here are a few tips: DO: Consider using a thicker moisturizer. In the summer months, a lot of us with oilier skin can get by just fine using a lotion or gel moisturizer. However, a lot of us will need a thicker cream in the winter, especially at night. Look for ingredients like ceramides, hyaluronic acid, and shea butter. I really like the PAULA'S CHOICE - Omega+ Complex Moisturizer : it’s a pretty simple, no-frills cream that hydrated my skin deeply. I’ve also been using the FARMACY - Better Daze Ahead CBD Moisturizer sometimes at night, and it’s *very* thick and moisturizing. I took a star off for the price because $68 is just too steep in my opinion. DON’T: forget SPF! You need sunscreen in the fall and winter just as much as you do in the summer, especially if you use products like acids or retinol. I use the PURITO - Centella Green Level Unscented Sun SPF50+ every day; it’s my holy grail sunscreen (scroll back on my feed to see a more detailed review). I also use the PAULA'S CHOICE - Resist Smoothing Primer Serum SPF30 under my makeup most days, and I love how smooth it makes my makeup, PLUS it has SPF. I typically wear the Dr. Jart+ - Cicapair Tiger Grass Color Correcting Treatment SPF 30 as my base because I’m working from home and don’t want to bother with foundation, and i’ll use the Supergoop! - Glowscreen Sunscreen SPF 40 on weekends when I don’t want as much coverage but still want to look glowy. DO: Consider adding an extra hydrating step, like a hydrating toner or oil. I just got this Herbal Dynamics Beauty - CollagenR8 Restorative COQ10 Facial Tonerbecause the ingredients are *very* similar to the Indie Lee COQ-10 toner, and so far I really like it! It’s definitely very moisturizing and soothing, and it smells amazing. I’ll usually use a few drops of the BIOSSANCE - 100% Sugarcane Squalane in the morning before my moisturizer because it gives me an extra layer of hydration, and I’ll use an oil like FARMACY - Honey Grail Ultra-Hydrating Face Oil or HERBIVORE - Orchid Facial Oil at night before my night cream. Steps like these have really helped my skin in the past during the colder months. #CheriePartner

Please help!!!
Hi! After over a year of my skin thriving, it started to struggle recently (I haven’t left the house in a while and probably haven’t been drinking enough water). I thought it might be because of my moisture barrier and after doing some research I got CeraVe - PM Facial Moisturizing Lotion to help repair it. I have super sensitive skin and a lot of products burn or cause me to break out but I heard CeraVe was great for sensitive skin. I’ve been using this product for a few days now and it burns my skin and causes redness and irritation every time I put it on. And I’ve gotten some little bumps on my face since starting it. Does anybody know why? It also doesn’t feel moisturizing even though my skin isn’t super dry to begin with. I want to learn more about my sensitive skin but I cannot seem to find a pattern in products that work and don’t. My main skin concerns are sensitivity, redness, and large pores. I’m hoping you guys can help and recommend products. Thanks in advance! Btw the third picture is from before I started this product (no face makeup on). Products that have worked: Aveeno - Clear Complexion Foaming Cleanser Eucerin - Redness Relief, Dermatological Skincare, Night Creme (I’ve been using this for years but it started burning slightly the last couple week so I decided to try something else) FIRST AID BEAUTY - Ultra Repair Hydrating Serum LA ROCHE-POSAY - Serozinc Face Mist Simple - Kind to Skin Micellar Cleasing Water (and every other micellar water I’ve tried, I use this to cleanse in the mornings instead of washing my face) Products that surprisingly didn’t work: Aveeno - Ultra-Calming Foaming Cleanser (this product burned my skin and dried me out more than the clear complexions one, causing my skin to flake for the first time ever) GARNIER - SkinActive The Gentle Sulfate-Free Cleanser (burned my skin but less than other products have) The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% (broke out my skin really badly - I tried to wait it out to see if it was just purging but it didn’t get better. It didn’t burn though) elta md SKINCARE - UV Shield Full-Body Sunscreen Broad-Spectrum SPF 45 (works on my body but I saw reviews that said it works for sensitive faces too... but it made me break out on my face) belif - The True Cream Aqua Bomb (burned my skin) Simple - Kind to Skin Moisturizing Facial Wash (burned my skin a bit but didn’t cause breakout or excessive dryness)

SPF ROUNDUP ☀️
Happy Fourth of July weekend everyone🇺🇸! It’s no secret that I am obsessed with sunscreen and heading into the long weekend, I’m highlighting all my favorites for sun protection: FACE 🎆 elta md SKINCARE - UV Shield Full-Body Sunscreen Broad-Spectrum SPF 45 I start every day with this year round. It’s targeted at normal to oily skin, and has a lightweight finish. Even on top of my face oils, this doesn’t sit too heavily on my face even during the summer 🎆 Supergoop! - Glow Stick SPF 50 My summer obsession, this reef-safe, face oil/spf stick keeps you glowing, hydrated, and protected all day long 🎆 Neutrogena - Ultra Sheer Liquid Sunblock Broad Spectrum SPF 70 another great stick for on-the go reapplication, this one has a more matte finish and a classic fresh neutrogena spf smell 🎆 Kiehl's - Ultra Facial Moisturizer SPF 30 my daily spf before I started using elta md. It’s better for normal to dry skin and I actually prefer it to elta md for winter because it focuses on moisturizing ingredients alongside spf 🎆 sun bum - Sunscreen Lip Balm SPF 30 I love lip balms with sunscreen! This one tastes/smells like coconut and has aloe for hydration. The biggest downside is that it melts down like coconut oil so if you apply more than a super thin layer you’ll feel like you’re eating this. 🎆 BIOSSANCE - Squalane + Zinc Sheer Mineral Sunscreen SPF 30 PA +++ another lightweight, reef safe sunscreen that leaves no white-cast. I have several sample size bottles of this that I keep everywhere but probably wouldn’t buy the full size as I find it a bit greasy/sticky BODY 🎇 Sun Bum Broad Spectrun SPF 50 (cannot find in cherie) is a great all around sunscreen for long days on the water! It smells like banana laffy taffy, rubs in easily, and is water resistant for 80 minutes 🎇 Supergoop! - Glow Oil SPF 50 I love body oils so I was naturally drawn to this product. It has a spray nozzle for easy application or can be dispensed into your hand and spread on. This absorbs immediately and leaves you glowy all over...swoon! 🎇 Lubriderm Daily Moisture Lotion with SPF 15 (also not on Cherie) is how I finally convinced my sunscreen-hating fiancé to use daily sun protection. He uses it on his face as well as his body and loves that it feels like a moisturizer rather than a sticky sunscreen. ☀️ I hope you all have fun in the sun this weekend (with lots of spf of course 😉). What’s your go-to sunscreen?!

My skin is so much better!!!
My skin has improved so much but unfortunately. I made the mistake of popping my pimples when I was young. which as lead me to acne scars. It been one of my biggest regret doing. So please if your reading this DO NOT pop your pimple!!!! If you click on this looking for help. I honestly don’t know what help with my acne. At first I try using benzoyl peroxide but it was extremely drying to my skin. So I stop using it. The following week I went to go pick upCeraVe - SA Smoothing Cleanser I use it for I think two months. Which I think has help my skin a lot. You have any tips. I will gladly accept them. Face routine: I wash my hand first. Then use warm water to rinse my face. Then use CeraVe - SA Smoothing Cleanser or CeraVe - Foaming Facial Cleanser For Normal To Oily Skin Then use the CeraVe - Ultra-Light Moisturizing Lotion SPF 30 For Normal To Oily Skin That it not much. Also if you know any sunscreen for oily skin. The the sunscreen I have now is good but it feel like it. Make my skin more oily. I don’t know if that normal.

My Simplified AM Routine 🌞
How much ever complex the skincare routines are changing everyday i like to keep it simple, manageable ( so I don’t feel lazy enough to skip it ) & also most importantly keep my skin breathable.😊 Not just bombard my skin with complex ingredients. Breaking my routine which is just CTM with a serum in it !! For cleansing i like to mix between the neutrogena cleanser( which i have already reviewed on my feed ) with LA ROCHE-POSAY - Toleriane Purifying Foaming Cream Cleanser because I don’t like to make my skin accustomed to a single product cos it results in no results at all over a period of time. Talking about this cleanser , its mild, foaming , no fragrance & works fine on my skin!!! For toning i use Neutrogena - Acne Stress Control Triple-Action Toner does what it claims to do. I have no active acne. All thanks to this It’s my 2nd bottle & i absolutely love love love this serum. It goes perfectly with what my skin needs. Vitamin C makes it look brighter & also my pores don’t feel congested at all !!!!! eva naturals - Vitamin C Plus Skin Clearing Serum last step on my routine moisturizing & sunscreen from cerave ! Do i need to talk about this??? I think enough has already been told by a lot of people . CeraVe - Ultra-Light Moisturizing Lotion SPF 30 For Normal To Oily Skin Don’t over do your routine, just keep it simple so you won’t skip !!! Stick to products that work for you. & also try to keep changing your products so that your skin doesn’t grow accustomed to it & you keep getting results ✨ 💋

PAULA'S CHOICE - Youth-Extending Daily Hydrating Fluid Retails for 33 USD x this is a super lightweight, watery sunscreen that of course protects your precious skin from the sun! x the texture is really interesting, second photo for reference. It’s very watery and feels so nice on the skin since it feels like nothing. Also, it’s so reminiscent since it smells like summers from long ago. x I got this a few months ago over the summer because I saw so many people rave about it and I love SPF, so I knew this was going to be good. x I usually have criteria when it comes to SPF, it needs to be lightweight, high SPF and cosmetically pleasant which this passed that! x i love using this especially on days when I don’t wear any makeup. It leaves behind a healthy glow but a satin finish, and knowing that I’m also protecting my skin makes me happy. It works well with my other products during the day time and I’ve never had any adverse effects. x as someone who is big on SPF, I would highly recommend this or even any sunscreen in general! I think it’s pretty decently priced and the formula and finish make it so worth it anyways. I know a lot of people tend to shy away from sunscreen because a lot of them are honestly just kind of gross and feel so suffocating on the skin. It’s important to find one you love and I think so many would feel that way about this one. x my rating is a 5/5 :)

Great Korean Sunscreens!!
Great Korean Sunscreens!!
My previous post was all about my favorite sunscreen ever!! This one is about few other Korean beauty sunblocks that I have tried and loved❣️ 1) Missha Essence sun Milk 2)Krave The Beet Sheild 3)Purito Centella Unscented Sunblock 4)Dear Klairs Everyday Sunscreen All the above sunscreens are very light, doesn’t cast a white shade on your face after application and is very great for layering with other skin care products or with makeup. These products are not heavy, not oily and doesn’t clog your pores. I loved how these products did a good job protecting my skin from the sun and at the same time didn’t leave my skin oily . They dry very quickly and gives a light matte finish to your face which works great as a base for the makeup and it holds the makeup in place for a longer time!!

Best skincare combo for flawless makeup
Best skincare combo for flawless makeup
As someone who never skips a day of wearing spf, it’s always important for me to find spfs that work well under makeup. Also important that my spf doesn’t pill on my moisturizer. Luckily I found that this duo looks totally seamless under makeup and causes absolutely no pilling! GOOD MOLECULES - Silicone-Free Priming Moisturizer So I have had this a bit and never really fell in love with it. It isn’t super moisturizing for my dry skin and found that it was just kind of blah for me. That is until I started using it with the Supergoop! - Unseen Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 40 sunscreen. So the moisturizer works as a nice matte-looking base. It doesn’t leave the skin shiny, oily or dewy. It does seems to fill in pores minimally and make my skin look super smooth. The magic happens when you use the supergoop spf on top. The spf is a super dimethicone based spf, and it is totally clear! Like no white cast at all. Looks so smooth on top of the moisturizer and just glides on. The dimethicone helps fill pores even more as well so my skin ends up looking so smooth and ready for makeup application. Definitely recommend this combo for anyone who wears makeup!

Battle of the chemical sunscreens! ☀️
Battle of the chemical sunscreens! ☀️
I’ve been trying different chemical sunscreens over the past year or so, and here are my thoughts! Bioré - UV Aqua Rich Watery Gel SPF 50+ PA++++ I bought this after seeing that it was a cult favorite on r/AsianBeauty. The texture is reminiscent of the Neutrogena Hydroboost Gel-Cream, except maybe a touch lighter. It’s a jelly-like gel-cream and has that same occlusive feeling. It has a light sunscreen-y scent, but not as strong as drugstore sunscreens. This didn’t irritate my skin, but I didn’t like the occlusive feeling. It made me feel oily, especially during the winter when I wore this over heavier moisturizers. However, my boyfriend has dry skin and loves this product. I would recommend it for people with dry skin as I would definitely consider this a moisturizing sunscreen! Supergoop! - Everyday Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 50 PA ++++ Supergoop is also a cult favorite for sunscreens and was recommended to me by my Curology provider. I really enjoyed this sunscreen! The texture is like a watery cream. It has a light scent (I’m not sure how to describe it? Vaguely floral?), but no synthetic fragrance. It’s water and sweat resistant—I’ve worn this sunscreen while hiking and skiing, and had no problems with reapplication. The only downside for me was that it is quite dewy and the shine doesn’t really die down. Might be better suited for dry skin rather than oily or combo skin. PURITO - Centella Green Level Unscented Sun SPF50+ I love this sunscreen! The texture is similar to Supergoop and is also a watery cream. It is scentless. The ingredients list is amazing and has soothing ingredients like glycerin, niacinamide, and madecassiside that you would normally find in a moisturizer. The finish is dewy, but unlike the Supergoop one, the dewiness does fade throughout the day. If I use a lot of hydrating layers before applying moisturizer and sunscreen, or reapply it throughout the day, this product can be a bit too dewy/occlusive for me, but overall I love this product and would repurchase! Krave - The Beet Shield This is my holy grail sunscreen! The texture is like a lotion-based serum—it’s watery and very light. This product is scentless and has antioxidants like beet root extract and resveratrol to help fight free radicals from sun damage. What I love about this product is that it doesn’t feel like you’re using a sunscreen, it feels more like an antioxidant serum. The finish is dewy, but it dies down pretty quickly and leaves you with a more natural-looking dewiness. Even after reapplying multiple layers throughout the day, I haven’t experienced any pilling. Liah Yoo, the founder of Krave Beauty, has said this sunscreen is not sweat resistant since they wanted to make a lighter formula that people would be encouraged to use everyday, but I don’t mind as this is so pleasant to apply for general daily use. Highly recommend this product!

The Beet Shield SPF — Krave Beauty
The Beet Shield SPF — Krave Beauty
Function: An SPF 50+ sunscreen packed with antioxidants meant to improve the health of your skin while protecting it from the sun. It works for all skin types and is to be used every day as the last step to your routine in the morning! Texture: It comes out pretty thick, but rubs in and absorbs quickly/easily! Really does feel like a “fluid” after a second of working it into your skin. Experience: I’ve had this sunscreen for a few months now and even though I switch different sunscreens into my routine every now and then, I always find myself going back to this one! I bought it because I had wanted to try Krave for a long time after seeing it so hyped up on Insta. I really do love this sunscreen. It leaves my skin with the perfect dewy, glowy finish. It sits well on my skin and I can’t even feel it after it soaks in. There is no white cast. There is alcohol in it (5th ingredient) which is probably what helps it dry down so fast. I don’t notice it drying out my skin at all, as there are ingredients included to counteract the drying effect that alcohol can have. I recommend this sunscreen to everyone! It is so so so important to protect your skin and this one does an amazing job. It’s pretty affordable at $20 for about 1.6 ounces of product — there are cheaper sunscreens, but the ones that I’ve tried haven’t come close to The Beet Shield!

Tinted Sunscreen ✨💛
Tinted Sunscreen ✨💛
This is one of the best tinted SPFs I have ever used! It’s very thin but so moisturizing. It leaves a subtle tint on the skin and blurs imperfections well. The only issue for me was that it tended to make my skin look a bit oilier. This could be just me though, as I have combination skin. What are your thoughts on this product??
