3 Paula Choice Skincare Routines ❄️☃️❄️
Hey guys!!! I love Paulas choice products especially the PAULA'S CHOICE - Omega+ Complex Moisturizer and PAULA'S CHOICE - 0.3% Retinol + 2% Bakuchiol Treatment !! Over on their IG they posted suggested skincare routines created by their client social services consultant Allie, I wanted to repost a few today for dry and dehydrated combo skin since it's cold outside which can often lead to dry/dehydrated skin. Paulas choice is another great brand to reach out to if you have questions!!! Just pick the products in black for an essential routine and include the products labeled in white for a full advanced routine. I do want to point out that there is NO perfect skincare routine, you need to listen to your skin. If you are feeling really dry you might want to add a heavier ceramide moisturizer or if your skin is starting to feel irritated back off on your exfoliation. Use these suggestions as a way to get started but still adjust or take away products by how your skin feels. Do you wish more companies would post suggested skincare routines based on skin type?? #cheriecreator

beautiewithjenAlso, I love brands that work with you on skincare routines. The first one that I ever reached out for advice from was The Inkey List. So many more brands are offering this option now.

An anti-aging product that actually worked
PAULA'S CHOICE - 0.3% Retinol + 2% Bakuchiol Treatment Paula’s Choice is one of my favorite science-backed skincare brands. I tried its 0.3% retinol and 2% bakuchiol treatment cream. This cream also has pepitides that also targets wrinkles and loose skin. According to the brand, bakichiol stabilizes retinol and makes this anti-aging ingredient to last longer on the skin and work more efficiently. So this formula is designed to fight against sign of aging and improve enlarged pores. The cream looks light yellowish and feels silky on the skin. It’s not greasy at all. It’s blendable and wearable. My skin has some large pores on and around the nose. I also have deep smile lines around the mouth. After using this treatment for about 3 weeks, my skin felt tighter and firmer. The lines were already slightly improved. The pores were almost gone, not visible. How to use: I use it 2-3 times a week. The frequency can be increased after the first few weeks when needed. I apply a few pea sizes on my face and neck. Gently massage the cream into the skin until it’s totally absorbed and then apply moisturizer and SPF. I sometimes mix it with my moisturizer. #cheriepartner
My Favourite Anti-Aging Products
“Anti-aging” is pretty much a marketing term. The only things that are going to have drastic results on deep wrinkles are office-only, like Botox and filler. But the best way to fight visible signs of aging is to prevent them and slow their arrival. • Sunscreen: There is legitimately not a single better way to protect your skin’s youth- and health! Sunscreen is so, so important, as windows do not block the aging UV rays and more studies show blue light from electronics also damages unprotected skin. UV rays not only cause/worsen wrinkles and fine lines, but also dark spots. DRUNK ELEPHANT - Umbra Sheer Physical Daily Defense Broad Spectrum Sunscreen SPF 30 is wonderful for dry skin (and/or winter use) and PAULA'S CHOICE - Youth-extending Daily Hydrating Fluid SPF 50 is amazing for all skin types and those who wear makeup. • Retinol: 0.1% Tretinoin is the strongest retinoid you’re going to find and likely the best for fighting signs of aging- but for prevention, everyone probably doesn’t need that kind of strength. If you want to avoid a prescription, look to retinols, available in up to 1.0% concentration. Retinol increases collagen + elastin production and stimulates skin renewal, via increasing cell turnover. This helps to fade dark spots, improve plumpness, and lessen fine lines- plus it’s known to be helpful for some acne cases. I have been enjoying the gentleness of PAULA'S CHOICE - 0.3% Retinol + 2% Bakuchiol Treatment combined with PAULA'S CHOICE - Retinol Super Antioxidant Serum (0.1% Retinol). I would recommend them for all skin types, though dry skin may appreciate The Ordinary - Retinol 1% in Squalane or another concentration. • Antioxidants: Antioxidants protect skin from environmental aggressors, like pollution and oxidative damage from free radicals. They soothe skin, help prevent fine lines, and can brighten skin, vitamin c being the most popular and well-known. DRUNK ELEPHANT - C-Firma Vitamin C Day Serum is a fantastic 15% l-ascorbic acid serum that lightens hyperpigmentation and dark spots significantly, but my sensitive skin prefers The Ordinary - Ascorbic Acid 8% + Alpha Arbutin 2%

why YOU should be using AZELAIC ACID
azelaic acid is a super amazing ingredient in skincare ! it aids in: even skin tone target stubborn spots soothes irritation & redness PAULA'S CHOICE - 10% Azelaic Acid Booster 🍃key ingredients 🍃 azelaic acid (skin brightening, texture improving) glycerin (skin replenishing) salicylic acid (exfoliant) licorice root extract (skin soothing) I really really love this product!! it claims to do what is listed above, and I must say that it does this. I use this every night in my routine. it is a cream texture which I was surprised with at first because I had previously used the NATURIUM - Azelaic Topical Acid 10% which is a serum formula. before using this product, when I would pop my pimples...(I know I know, but we have all been there right?!), I would wake up with a huge scar on my face with redness everywhere! NOW, (for the occasional time that I do get pimples and pop them), the redness fades very soon after and I wake up looking like I never had a pimple there in the first place! my jawline tends to be prone to texture & pimples, and I believe that this product is a key reason as to why I don’t get many bumps or pimples there anymore!! I swear by this product and will definitely be trying to repurchase it in the future if my budget allows me to haha. PAULA’S CHOICE: 1oz for $36

Which Niacinamide would you choose?
This is definitely not a dupe situation. These two formulas are only similar in the fact that they contain the same amount of niacinamide (as well as some texture and preservative agents). I’ve been a longtime user of The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% and it does work, but I felt after my first bottle I wasn’t getting any continued results. I was also left unimpressed and looking for a different option due to the fact that this is a very tacky formula that can be difficult to work with. TO includes zinc in their formula which they state can reduce acne and can be anti-inflammatory. At $6 you’re getting your 2 active ingredients; niacinamide and zinc. PAULA'S CHOICE - 10% Niacinamide Booster includes the same 10% of niacinamide but doesn’t stop there. They also add vitamin C and a BUNCH of calming, hydrating and restoring products that your skin needs (see attached ingredient list). It’s been a controversy whether or not vitamin C and Niacinamide can be used together, even The Ordinary suggests that their Niacinamide not be used at the same time as vitamin C. Many brands and consumers have disagreed. Paula’s Choice adds the protective ingredients to ensure you’ll have less of a chance of irritation. Paula’s Choice serum is a lightweight watery formula that leaves no residue and I find easy to work into my routine. I wasn’t quite prepared for the thin formula as The Ordinary has more of a tacky texture. I found it best to add it directly from the dropper to my face, versus my hands then face. When it comes to the price difference it does seem that The Ordinary would be the obvious choice. I’m not one that believes that quality skincare has to cost more. But Paula’s Choice formula offers much more than Niacinamide. You’re getting several ingredients that are not found in The Ordinary, hence the price difference. Once I’ve emptied my bottle I’ll be better able to determine if spending 4x’s the amount is worth it. I could choose to use a less expensive option and add the antioxidants and other skin-replenishing ingredients found in Paula’s Choices formula, but I have to admit, I do like the simplicity of fewer steps in my skincare routine. 😉 There are also several other options available that I’ve not yet tried. I have tried The Inkey List and it is just a tad bit less tacky than The Ordinary. Other brand options I’d be open to try are: Good Molecules $6 - formula looks similar to TO and TIL with the only active ingredient being niacinamide Naturium $16 - 10% niacinamide and 2% zinc Good Molecules $14 - similar again to TO and TIL I LOVE how Paula’s Choice lists their ingredients. Behind each one you’ll find out how it benefits the skin. This saves me a TON of time and effort when doing my reviews! Individual reviews on The Ordinary and The Inkey List Niacinamide can be found on my page. What’s your favorite Niacinamide to use? ❤️🍒
FINALLY! It’s mine!
This is one brand I’ve been stalking and I’ve finally got my hands on the highly raved, much talked about PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliator I’d say what really draws me to this particular brand is its commitment to highly effective, well tested products. I feel they really listen to their customers and value their feedback. Well, imagine my surprise when in pops an email from a Paula’s Choice social media team member asking for my address to send me some products just for being me?!? I couldn’t respond fast enough with a...., “YES!” I’m not sure why I’ve been sleeping on this brand for so long. I follow so many diehard fans that swear and have visual proof of the changes their products have made. I have a feeling it’s all going to change after this... Just a little about PC if you haven’t heard of the brand (taken from the website) : Did you know that the founder, Paula was actually fired from her job working at a cosmetic counter for explaining to a customer what products could and couldn’t do for their skin? (This is what we need more of!! I was immediately drawn to the brand when I first heard about that!) Our Philosophy Science & Truth Highly Effective Formulary Excellence Non-irritating & Fragrance Free Multi-faceted Formulas Cruelty Free Packaged for Potency Environmentally Conscious On the website you can find Skincare Quizzes that can help you develop a Instant Routine or develop a more in-depth Routine at no cost! You can also find Expert Advice Articles on just about any subject you’re curious about. Have a question about ingredients? They have every ingredient known in the beauty industry—-a go-to resource for everyone! Everyone needs to use this! With Paula’s Choice you can choose individual skincare products or you can have an entire skincare routine developed from start to finish! I’ve had on my wishlist, along with the exfoliator I just received, their PAULA'S CHOICE - Resist C15 Super Booster PAULA'S CHOICE - 10% Azelaic Acid Booster PAULA'S CHOICE - 10% Niacinamide Booster PAULA'S CHOICE - Peptide Booster PAULA'S CHOICE - Anti-Aging Eye Gel Honestly, I want to try it all! I’d probably start swapping out some of the products I currently use for similar items. For instance, I am looking for a replacement vitamin c so I’d trade mine out for theirs. Then the Niacinamide and Hyaluronic and so on. I’m definitely going to do the skincare quiz and see what’s recommended for me! Do you use any Paula’s Choice products? What’s your favorite? Please share! 😘 I’ll be back in a few weeks to tell you what I think of this exfoliator! ❤️🍒
Dry Weather Serum: CBD + Cica + Oils
With autumn in full-swing and winter ahead of us northern hemisphere folks, dry weather is sure to come for many. Heaven-sent for those with oily skin, but those of us with combo, normal, or dry skin may be dreading the change of humidity and the accompanying change in skin calmness/water content. My sensitive, combo skin gets dry and red in the winter, so I’ve been loading up on soothing and hydrating serums, including one I enjoyed in early spring- PAULA'S CHOICE - CBD Skin Transformative Treatment Milk The CBD Milk from PC is a silky, surprisingly thin serum that spreads easily and soaks in quickly to nourish skin with a variety of humectants and emollients while CBD (100mg), centella asiatica extract, phospholipids, vitamin E, and a variety of non-fragrant plant oils soothe and calm skin. I love this serum for how easily it calms any redness in my skin and makes my skin *feel* less irritated, perfect for lightweight moisture and soothing power in the autumn and winter. $49 for 30mL is steep, but with how easily triggered my eczema is when my skin is dry, it’s a good investment that keeps my skin chill! #CheriePartner
Vitamin C Recommendations 🍊
I have learnt a lot over the past few months since joining cherie and am taking my skin more seriously now that I’m 30. I learnt my skin barrier had seriously been compromised, and I may actually not be as sensitive as I thought. I learnt that my skin most likely isn’t dry but actually dehydrated!! What a learning curve that was! Always, ALWAYS, research the best way to use products before using them. Search the product you are interested in on this app and go through the reviews and see what has worked and what hasn’t. Saves you a lot of trial and error! And disappointment! Always start slow with a new product! Go once a week for two weeks and then build up by adding one more day each week. This helps your skin adjust and figure out what works for you. If you flick through the photos above, you will see before and after photos of both sides of my face. Although it looks better, I still have a fair way to go. My routine as of October 13, 2020: MORNING I don’t use a cleanser to wash my face, I wash with water and then follow with The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 I apply this directly to my wet face after rinsing it. I continue massaging until I feel my skin is getting dry but still slightly damp. While my face is still slightly damp I apply SEPHORA COLLECTION - Brightening Eye Cream – Hydrate & Depuff and The Ordinary - Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA and then wait about 5 minutes before applying PAULA'S CHOICE - Calm Mineral Moisturizer Broad Spectrum SPF 30 NIGHT I have, in the last week, jumped back onto the double cleanse bandwagon as it is getting warmer in the Southern Hemisphere now and I tend to get hot and sweaty-ish (especially when running around after a toddler all day). I use The Ordinary - Squalane Cleanser massage this is for a few minutes, when I feel it start to loosen up I add in water and rinse it off. If my skin is feeling particularly dehydrated I skip the first cleanse and go straight to CeraVe - Hydrating Face Cleanser For Normal To Dry Skin Again, I leave my face wet and massage in The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 while my skin is still slightly damp I put on SEPHORA COLLECTION - Brightening Eye Cream – Hydrate & Depuff and PAULA'S CHOICE - 10% Azelaic Acid Booster This has really helped calm down my irritated skin and helped smooth out some bumps. I then pat on about 6 drops of The Ordinary - 100% Plant-Derived Squalane and after 5 minutes apply The Ordinary - Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA I am looking to add in a vitamin c product. I might be slightly sensitive to vitamin c, so please recommend products that are low in concentration and good for sensitive skin 😘😘
“Build Me Up Buttercup”
My skincare journey has been rough the past few years (check first post made for details but basically I have sensitive, reactive skin) and I have finally found something that works thanks to this app and all the wonderful people on here. I have done lots of reading and learning!! I am wanting to extend my routine; add an eye cream for dark circles in the AM and maybe a vitamin c - am looking at The Ordinary - Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate 10%as I have had bad experiences with vitamin c previously and want to go slow. And maybe THE inkey LIST - Polyhydroxy Acid (PHA) Gentle Exfoliating Toner I have noticed that my face doesn’t like niacinamide either. Both CeraVe AM and PM creams contain this and my skin reacted, as well as with another brand I used that contained it. Please help, any and all suggestions/helpful hints welcome 😊 This is my current routine. I have reviewed these products in previous posts. AM CLEANSE: Water SERUM: The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 makes the skin feel so soft and supple. A great base! EYE CREAM: SEPHORA COLLECTION - Brightening Eye Cream – Hydrate & Depuff I have come back to this after a long and painful journey with eye creams. Great for hydration and fine lines but would still like an eye cream to use in the AM that helps with dark circles. MOISTURISE: The Ordinary - Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA have just recently started using this as my DRUNK ELEPHANT - Lala Retro Whipped Cream is finished. Loving it so far. Not as heavy as the DE cream but perfect for going into the warmer months ahead. SUNSCREEN: PAULA'S CHOICE - Calm Mineral Moisturizer Broad Spectrum SPF 30 this has really helped with reducing the redness i get on my cheeks. PM CLEANSE: CeraVe - Hydrating Face Cleanser For Normal To Dry Skin feels so great and leaves the skin feeling hydrated well after use! Previous cleansers always left me feeling tight immediately after use. I can now wash my face at the beginning of a shower and it stays hydrated till I get out (although I still prefer as my last step) EYE CREAM: SEPHORA COLLECTION - Brightening Eye Cream – Hydrate & Depuff MOISTURISE: The Ordinary - Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA SEAL THE DEAL: The Ordinary - 100% Plant-Derived Squalane I was using this before the DE cream and have recently learned that it is meant to go last to seal everything in. I use about 4-5 drops and pat it across my face. Twice a week (Sun & Wed), after the eye cream, I use The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 and then PAULA'S CHOICE - 10% Azelaic Acid Booster I am finding that it has helped reduce the redness across my cheeks. It has only been 2 weeks of using this so too early to review this product.
UPDATE ON MY SKIN :))!!!!!
guys my skin has actually cleared up SO much compared to my last post I’m so excited🥺🥺🥺🥺 when I’m on my period it definitely breaks out, but when I’m not it clears up a lot and the products I’m using and mentioned in my last post realllly calmed and cleared my skin up, there are still some acne scars but other than that I’m super happy. But here is the products I use: CeraVe - Foaming Facial Cleanser For Normal To Oily Skin or CeraVe - Hydrating Cream-To-Foam Cleanser PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliator The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 PAULA'S CHOICE - Clear Oil-Free Moisturizer PAULA'S CHOICE - REGULAR STRENGTH DAILY SKIN CLEARING TREATMENT WITH 2.5% BENZOYL PEROXIDE Thank u all for the comments on my last post, they were SO helpful
Help! Red irritated sin!
(Pictures in different lighting. The flash gives a better look) So i have been struggling for a while. I switch between products a lot recently but found a routine. I have used this daily to wash my face for about five years and love it and have no problems. CeraVe - Foaming Facial Cleanser For Normal To Oily Skin For a few months I’ve been on and off with the moisturizer because i think it is giving me skin texture but is good at hydrating and is lightweight and soothing and nothing compares. CeraVe - Daily Moisturizing Lotion For Normal To Dry Skin I began along with the below using this moisturizer a week after the rest of the PC products to space them out. It is a nice moisturizer but it has ethylhexylglycerine which i have found irritates me skin so i stopped using after about a week. (It has been a full week without now) PAULA'S CHOICE - Clear Oil-Free Moisturizer I recently started using Paulas choice BHA. I used this all over my face and it was too heavy and made my face only oilier and more sensitive. So i started using once a week. It still doesn’t seem to make a difference with oiliness. I started using it on my chin for hormonal acne and that has been working well. PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliator After about two weeks i gave the cleaner a try since salycilic acid is great for hormonal acne and cleaning skin. This didn’t seem to irritate my skin as i only use in mornings. PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Balancing Oil-Reducing Cleanser I need help figuring out what is making my face so irritated because it seems to be where i apply my lotion(cerave). It’s giving me a red mask look all over my face and my face is super oily by the end of the day. It is also very irritated and red so i am not sure what could be doing this since the face wash seems ok until i put lotion on. TYIA for any help or your trials with these products!
Transitioning Into My Winter Skin Care! ❄
So technically, I never even transitioned into my "Fall skincare" this year. Where I live, the fall months don't usually get that cold. For the most part, i've been using the same products I was using in the Summer. And that was a mistake! For the past few weeks it's been really dry outside, and eventually resulted in a disruption of my moisture barrier. My cheeks, and especially the area around my eyes felt super tight, and even got cracked and flakey. Lets Talk Cleansers! I LOVE the CeraVe - Hydrating Facial Cleanser . It will always be a holy grail for me, 365 days a year. This restores and hydrates my skin, and my go-to morning cleanse. I believe in cleansing twice a day, but the morning cleanse should be with a simple, gentle cleanser. Cleansing can be really harsh for the skin, and using a foaming or treatment cleanser twice a day can stir up trouble! Another good one is the PAULA'S CHOICE - Defense Hydrating Gel-to-Cream Cleanser . This one works better as a second cleanse, to help remove makeup. It foams up, and claims to remove makeup. In my opinion, it doesn't work that well without an oil cleanse or micellar water beforehand. This cleanser isn't AS hydrating but still really good and makes my skin soft. Unlike CeraVe, this one this one has a triple-superfood complex, and antioxidants! Lately, I've been oil cleansing, then going in with the Paulas Choice cleanser, & then the CeraVe one, as my night time routine. Moisturize, Moisturize, Moisturize! Even if you have oily skin, moisturize! My go-to moisturizers are the CeraVe - PM Facial Moisturizing Lotion as well as the VERSED - DEW POINT Moisturizing Gel-Cream . Both of these products I LOVE. They are perfect for acne-prone skin, & at a decent price point. But now... I'm going to start incorporating a more hydrating, heavier moisturizer, like the CeraVe - CeraVe Moisturising Cream . I'm very picky about heavy moisturizers because my pores are easily clogged. CeraVe is always a reliable brand I can count on to have simple, non-irritating products that get the job done. (And DOESNT clog pores.) Another good one is the PAULA'S CHOICE - Omega + Complex Serum . This one is technically a serum but works like a moistuizer. It's very light but super hydrating & moisturizing! It has robust levels of Omega 3, 6 and 9 for calm, stronger & healthier skin. It also has ceramides, Hyaluronic Acid & Shea Butter. Surprisingly, the Shea butter in this does not clog my pores. Hyaluronic Acid! I don't own a sole Hyaluronic Acid serum, but I use the The Ordinary - Alpha Arbutin 2% + HA . This is really good at hydrating and plumping my skin. And it calms & depuffs any inflammation I may have. I like that it's paired with Alpha Arbutin so this serum also fades dark spots & brightens my skin. Plus, these two ingredients can be paried with almost any other active, so it's easy to include this serum in a any routine.
My new skincare routine
Since I’ve been introduced to this brand , i can simply tell how they’ve made my life a way better ❤️ i like the new routine , it works for me & I’m so glad to have followed all the tips . #paulaschoice, i wishes i had used them sooner, but never too late . I starting using these products a few weeks now, and the toner PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliator has almost eliminated the sebum buildup and reduced the size of my pores. I also like the cleanser PAULA'S CHOICE - Defense Hydrating Gel-to-Cream Cleanser is very fantastic, not drying, and very pleasant to use . Also, the retinol cream moistures PAULA'S CHOICE - Resist Barrier Repair Moisturizer, 50ml without leaving an oily skin. Definitely ordering more during the winter.

What is blue light? High energy visible light (HEV) (“blue light), is a type of light emitted from mostly the sun & yeah your electronic devices! It’s a short wavelength, which mean it produces at a higher energy & is visible by the human eye. What’s the damage? Eye damage- premature eye aging. Leads to effects of blindness (overtime) , retina damage, & eye irritation. Premature skin again known as Photo aging: aging caused by light exposure (ranges from UVA,UVB,& HEV lights) causes - hyperpigmentation, premature wrinkles, Disrupts sleep schedule. Everyone has a circadian rhythm (the set cycle of sleeping & waking up), that differs for each person. These lights can cause you to alter that in a negative way. (Proven fact that lack of sleep causes premature aging to). Prevention: SUNSCREEN THAT HAS ALL COVERAGE TULA SKINCARE - Daily Sunscreen Gel Broad Spectrum SPF 30 I love this sunscreen. It leaves me with a wonderful glow! I posted about it previously as a great next day option for protection after use of Differin Gel! Plump Lips = Healthy Lips
Lips are covered in skin. Whenever that skin is dry or irritated, lips feel tight and often appear less full/plump due to the dry skin being less apt to reflect light or allow skin to be fully pliant/stretchy. As well, sun damage can speed up the break down of collagen in the lips, lessening their fullness. Treating the skin on your lips more dutifully can help lips appear fuller and smoother, plus keeps them a perfect canvas for lip looks if you’re a makeup wearer! • Moisturizer: Whenever applying my face products, I never avoid my lips. They get gentle exfoliation, buffered tretinoin, antiaging niacinamide and vitamin c.... But most of all, I make sure to coat them well in moisturizer. The skin on your lips is very thin and this leads to increased risk of water loss, which can be reflected in chapped and flaky lips. Augmenting your lips with a moisturizer that contains ceramides and lipids helps to keep that fragile skin barrier bouncy and the water within replenishes moisture that is easily lost. I always keep a sample size of moisturizer, such as PAULA'S CHOICE - Defense Nightly Reconditioning Moisturizer , with me during the day to reapply under... • Occlusive: Moisturizer inevitably is absorbed, and what good is moisture if it’s not retained by the skin? Using an occlusive like CeraVe - Healing Ointment is fantastic in the PM after applying moisturizer to the lips, but my favourite day-to-day lip occlusive is the iconic Glossier. - Balm Dotcom . Waxy balms are only effective at retaining moisture if there’s moisture to retain, so apply a more emollient product like Glossier. - Bubblewrap Eye + Lip Plumping Cream first. • Sunscreen: I didn’t add a sunscreen into the above photo, but sunscreen is integral to maintaining naturally plump lips. Localized collagen depletion causes lips to thin and lose shape as we age, so consistently applying sunscreen protects the collagen. I like PAULA'S CHOICE - Essential Glow Moisturizer SPF 30 specifically for my lips due to how quickly it soaks in and the hydrated shine it offers. #CheriePartner
My AM and PM moisturizers
My AM & PM - Moisturizers @paulaschoice - Omega + complex moisturizer - PM moisturizer ✨ nice and thick consistency - great to use as PM moisturizer. ✨ Really moisturizing and never clog pores like some other thick creams does to my dry - acne prone skin ✨ Little goes a long way, helps to retain the moisture in the skin I don't feel the need to use oil afterwards as well. @alliesofskin skin ... Molecular Multi- Nutrient day cream - AM moisturizer ✨ other than the fact that it piles up sometimes it actually is a really nice day moisturizer and it almost coming to an end ✨ also it is more suitable to oil skin types. What are your favorite moisturizers that you use everyday?looking for new moisturizer. NEW FIND! And I’m pleasantly surprised!?
It was time to get a new moisturizer. I was currently using the HONEST - Hydrogel Cream paired with the PAULA'S CHOICE - Omega+ Complex Moisturizer , RADHA BEAUTY - Rosehip Oil , and timeless SKIN CARE - Squalane Oil 100% Pure because I have pretty dry skin. I love both of those moisturizers (although I’m not fond of all the Paula’s choice Omega+ complex moisturizer ingredients, but I loooooove the texture and feeling of it ) and love my oils (I won’t stop using the oils), but knew I needed a richer cream and also wanted to keep it down to just one cream, for time and my bank accounts sake. So if you’ve seen my last post, I was deciding between 3 brands but I couldn’t decide and was also nervous to try a new moisturizer, even though I knew I needed one, because I’m also acne prone so a new moisturizer to me was just terrifying lol. I was about to just get my usual HONEST - Hydrogel Cream because I knew it didn’t break me out and I like it a lot, although not quite as moisturizing as I need, it was on the safer side and I can’t imagine going a day without a moisturizer on this Sahara desert of a face!!! But then I discovered this brand I’ve never seen before? It’s called Awake Human. It’s not even a listing on Cherie for me to add the product! I read the ingredients and was intrigued (scroll through pics to see ingredients list), but because of my fear of new moisturizers, I was hesitant.. but I decided to bite the bullet because the ingredients looked amazing, was cheaper than Paula’s choice and the honest beauty’s moisturizer, but had the same amount of product. I received it a few days ago and I am in love!!!!! Soooooo rich and creamy and hydrating feeling, and it had the same smooth, rich, texture as the Paula’s Choice omega moisturizer, that I love so much!!! It comes in a nice little pump type of packaging, which I like. Keeps bacteria and gunk out. If you scroll through my pictures, you’ll see it. And a little bit goes a long way! The picture you see of the product on my fingers is the amount I use, but you can totally use less, especially if you have more oily or normal skin. I just like a lot of moisturizer! Lol I’ve noticed my face is much less dry feeling and looks smoother with less texture. I will keep you updated, but I think this is my new fave!!!! I’m so excited lol. Here the link the purchase: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07NWXJYVK/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glc_fabc_YHI-Fb9BRJKT0?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 If you’re hesitant but intrigued like I was, I strongly encourage you to just try it. And if it happens that doesn’t work for your face, because remember, everyone is different and skincare is not a one size fits all, then it would most definitely be a really really nice hand cream, that would fit nicely in your bag. Have you heard of this brand before? And if so, have you used anything from them?
Vegan & Cruelty Free Dupe for Cerave
I have a dupe that is cruelty free and vegan for the cult classic Cerave Hydrating Facial Cleanser! PAULA'S CHOICE - Optimal Results Hydrating Cleanser I think the Paula’s Choice formula results are much better actually, but the experience and texture are so similar. I think the PC cleanser has potential to create a glass skin look- which I’m getting closer to achieving with this. They’re not a small business, but I feel like it’s a great way to support something other than a huge corporation during these times! Animal testing for the pharmaceutical industry is one thing, but it is so unnecessary for something so indulgent like skincare. Why not save some little animals and switch! Cosdna.com I added the ingredient analysis results from cosdna.com. I check all of my products this way to make sure they won’t break me out. I’ve found that 1 & 2 in the acne column is safe for me. 3, 4 & 5 break me out! We all have very very different skin, so you may find that certain ingredients that are 2s might still break you out. Take a note of them!
Looking for something that bring life back into your skin then this cleanser is for you! It is a gentle cream based hydrating cleanser that leaves your skin with a nice glow! It’s very good for the winter because it doesn’t strip your skin and tend to dryness! You’ll notice a difference immediately and fall in love!PAULA'S CHOICE - Optimal Results Hydrating Cleanser

I look at my first post and I’m just like WOW! My skin has gone a long way especially with my dark spots. My dark spots were such a big insecurity as well as my fungal acne on my forehead and look at the difference almost a year made!! Do you have any tips as to what I can add? Or what good eye creams work for dark circles? In the AM I use: The Ordinary - Alpha Arbutin 2% + HA artnaturals - ArtNaturals LUXE Vitamin C Serum Murad - Essential-C Day Moisture Broad Spectrum SPF 30 PA+++ I have three PM routines,: PM 1 The Ordinary - Alpha Arbutin 2% + HA The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% The Ordinary - Granactive Retinoid 2% in Squalane The Ordinary - Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA PM 2 The Ordinary - Lactic Acid 10% + HA The Ordinary - Alpha Arbutin 2% + HA The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% The Ordinary - Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA PAULA'S CHOICE - Radiance Renewal Mask PM 3 The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution The Ordinary - Alpha Arbutin 2% + HA The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% I always cleanse with Neutrogena - Hydro Boost Water Gel Cleanser and after I use PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Gel Exfoliant
PaulasChoice Radiance Renewal Mask! Despite using this more or less on the daily for 2 years, I still haven’t reviewed this staple! 💸 Cost: £35/$36 for 50ml/1.fl.oz but Paula’s Choice regularly have 15-20% discounts. 🔍 What it does/Formula: an overnight ‘sleeping mask’ (or can be used as a moisturiser, as I do) featuring brightening agents (Niacinamide, Arbutin, Bearberry Extract and MAP - a stable form of Vitamin C) to target skin tone/pigmentation. The mask comprises of film formers + dimethicone to form a barrier and reduce TEWL and so an excellent option for combo-oily skins. It’s a light gel-cream but does form a decent barrier - not cloying nor is it too rich. It’s very similar to the PC brightening essence in regards to the brightening agents, but in a different format, if you prefer creamier textures. I use both + usually alternate AM/PM. 🔍 How I use it: As a moisturiser, sometimes in the AM + others in PM, as the last step in my routine. In the PM, I’ll mix it with 1-2 drops of a facial oil to negate the slight tackiness. 🔍 Results: I first introduced this 2 years ago when I initially started using Differin, as my usual moisturiser wasn’t nourishing enough to negate the side effects. As with most moisturisers, I was anticipating breakouts but I’ve had great success with this. I saw quite a significant difference when I first introduced this! Partly, (I presume) because redness + dehydration were reduced with the effects of Niacinamide, which I previously didn’t have in my routine, but also because my skin was finally being adequately moisturised (which would happen with any sufficient moisturiser). However, I did continue to see significant improvements beyond the instant gratification, particularly with post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation from acne fading at a much quicker rate. Since then, this simply never fails me. I can use it in every season, day or night. It doesn’t exacerbate oil production, plays well with most products (I find makeup can pill though) + it’s my go-to whenever my skin is throwing a tantrum. I’ve been through probably 8-10 bottles in the past two years, which is a testament to how much I love it.
How to build your skincare routine
How to build your skincare routine VOL. I - for many people getting into skincare it can super confusing (even as a professional it is) 😳 • Therefore I’m coming out with a series to help anyone who needs some guidance on where to begin 😉 • 3 parts: Step 1 - addressing your skin concerns! Step 2 - doing some research on different brands, ingredients, products to use or even consulting a professional and Step 3 - buying the essentials and not splurging 🤷🏽♀️ • Many esthetician’s and dermatologists offer consultations to clients who need help or guidance so check the ones in your area to see if that’s an option for you 👏🏽 • Not splurging is KEY! The last thing you want to do is drop $500 on products, only to find out your skin doesn’t agree with them or you don’t like them 🥴 • Was this chart helpful? Are you excited about this new series? 💙 • What’s your beginner skincare advice for building a routine? ♥️ CeraVe - Foaming Facial Cleanser For Normal To Oily Skin PAULA'S CHOICE - Resist Advanced Replenshing Toner
Changing Up My Skincare Routine for Fall
About my skin: dryyyyy, often flaky near/on nose and forehead, not usually sensitive Summer is coming to an end on 9/21, so I’ll be making some changes to my summer skincare routine. I have dry skin year-round and battled stubborn dry patches a few times during the summer. My fall skincare incorporates more moisture and hydration, but not quite as heavy as I’ll need for winter. Moisturizer: Out: GHOST DEMOCRACY - Clean Lightweight Daily Face Moisturizer This is actually almost empty so I’ll finish it off. Lightweight and unscented, but still moisturizing enough for my dry skin in summer. Won’t cut it for colder months, but will repurchase in springtime. Gifted by the brand. In: YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Adaptogen Deep Moisture Cream with Ashwagandha + Reishi Expensive, but really nice. On the thicker side, but not too heavy for AM & PM use. My cap cracked so ignore the tape haha. Cherie sent me this (ty!) Toner: Out: PURITO - Centella Unscented Toner Great for combo & sensitive skin, but works fine for dry in summer. Watery texture and not particularly hydrating, but is soothing. PR from the brand. In: PAULA'S CHOICE - Resist Advanced Replenshing Toner So hydrating!! Has a milky texture. Definitely adds a boost to my skin. Fall & winter staple (and probably spring). Essence: I’m not currently using one, but in spring and winter I used the SATURDAY SKIN - Press Pause Beauty Essence and will use it again this fall. It feels more like a serum vs an essence (see texture photo). Feels so silky on my skin! I also purchased one from Cocokind but haven’t opened it yet, so stay tuned. Exfoliants: Out: OFRA - Fruit Acid Lotion Tbh I don’t like this. It smells so strongly of chemicals. It has citrus, lactic, and glycolic acids. It is a toner, not a lotion like the name implies. It does exfoliate okay but really hate the smell. Gifted by brand via Octoly. In: FARMACY - Honeymoon Glow Serum This is an awesome exfoliant for dry skin because it contains honey. It doesn’t leave my skin feeling overly exfoliated. I only use 1-2x/wk in colder months. Expensive but lasts a long time. Mine’s about 2/3 empty. Face Oil: Out: GOOD MOLECULES - Squalane Oil I’ve loved this for a while. It’s lightweight and nourishing. I used it a lot in summer when I had dry spots. In: cocokind - Watermelon Hemp Oil This is more heavy duty. It does smell herbaceous but it dissipates. Deeply nourishing and multipurpose (like on hands!). PR from the brand. Face Mist: I use the YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Adaptogen Soothe + Hydrate Activated Mist with Reishi + Ashwagandha whenever I need a hydration boost. I’ll be using this a lot in fall. 1/2 empty! It’s overpriced but nice. Anyone have a good suggestion for a hydrating cleanser?! Let me know. #CheriePartner

Current Products I'm Using
I have oil/combo skin and been struggling with hormonal acne for a few years now which is mainly around my chin. I have noticed some positive changes but also some negative ones, for example I have more blackheads in areas besides my nose which I never had before. Here are the products I've been using lately. AM Routine I don't cleanse in the morning just splash water on my face and pat dry, then I apply PAULA'S CHOICE - Resist C15 Super Booster after I apply moisturizer e.l.f. - Holy Hydration! Face Cream - Fragrance Free then sunscreen Supergoop! - Play Everyday Lotion SPF 50 With Sunflower Extract PM Routine During the day I don't wear much makeup just some mascara so I just use GARNIER - SkinActive Micellar Cleansing Water with Rose Water for my first cleanse, then I go in with PAULA'S CHOICE - Pore Normalizing Cleanser which I am just about out of so I will be using CeraVe - Salicylic Acid Facial Cleanserwhich I haven't tried before but decided to buy it because of all the hype! Than I apply my toner and depending on my skin at the time I will either use PAULA'S CHOICE - Pore-Reducing Toner or I'm from - Rice Toner I have just recently purchased and starting using The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% then I moisturizer with THE inkey LIST - Peptide Moisturizer I use PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliator twice a weeks and PAULA'S CHOICE - 1% Retinol Treatment with Peptides + Vitamin C 3 times a week. My skin is still breaking out so I'm gonna try eliminating certain products to see if I can pin point what is causing the breakouts and blackheads. I recently purchased a cleansing brush and I'm gonna start by eliminating the Paulas choice BHA Exfoliator and start using the brush 2 or 3 times a week instead. If that's not the problem then I'm gonna try taking out the Vitamin C. If anyone has any advice or tips I am all ears!!!
My Morning Routine
I haven’t shared a routine for awhile and I’m constantly testing new products out so I wanted to give you a peek into what my typical morning routine looks like these days. I start off with a very small gentle wash with fresh - Soy Face Cleanser Jumbo I received this a long while ago and Fresh is a very popular brand. Unfortunately they are highly fragranced so I never rushed to try this out. I was going to re-gift it but in the end decided to give it a try. It has a light cucumber scent and is very easy to work with. I don’t wear makeup (these days) so I’m not sure how easy it is to remove. I don’t mind it but will not be purchasing any Fresh products. PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliator next I exfoliate every other day with this. I’m a huge fan of hydration products and depending on my mood, and my skins mood, will go in with 2-4 products at this point (essences and hydrating toners). I like to use products versus water to lock in hydration. First I apply with my hands I'm from - Rice Toner and while still damp, (THIS IS IMPORTANT) I add 2-3 drops off GLOW RECIPE - Plum Plump Hyaluronic Acid Serum I am really liking this HA serum and only took a ⭐️ away for added fragrance. Next is my treatment step which in the am is Vitamin c. CAUDALIE - Vinoperfect Radiance Serum The Brightening Solution is said to be 62x’s more effective than vitamin c so I like to trade off using this and any other vitamin c serums I have. I just recently added PAULA'S CHOICE - Resist C15 Super Boosteras at my age I really want to prevent those wrinkles and stop any signs of aging I can! PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Restoring Moisturizer With SPF 50 is the final step. I like having a moisturizer and SPF in one. I like this as my mind is immediately taken to the beach. It has that lovely scent that reminds me of my youth. Upon first application it left a slight white cast that quickly went away and I couldn’t tell I was wearing any sunscreen at all. No heavy, tacky, greasy feeling. There you have it! If you are not a twice a day cleanser and just use water in the am this routine could be simplified even a few more steps. You could skip the rice toner and just use water to dampen before adding HA. Also just using one vitamin c. This would leave you with four steps. I personally like to do a light cleanse in the am as I’m using retinol and heavy moisturizers at night and want to wash them away before coming in with any new products. Otherwise I feel like I am just layering my am products on top of my previous pm ones. Hope my skinnies are staying healthy both mentally and physically. Keep wearing your masks and let’s keep everyone healthy and safe! ❤️🍒😷

Update: my acne has reduced A LOT
I’ve been a bit MIA since my last post but here is the progress of my acne. If I were to pinpoint the main reasons why, then it’s these reasons: What I did wrong: - experimenting and using alot of different products. I was in a phase where I loved trying new products and my skin did not like that I was switching products all the time. - I did not spot test new products - overloaded my skin with many products. I don’t know who needs to hear this but a 10 step routine is NOT for acne prone skin. - drank little water each day - used harsh products without re-balancing my skin with soothing products - masked almost everyday What I did to improve it: - reduce the number of products going on my skin. I now use only a max of 3 products in the morning and 5 products at night. - drank 2 litres of water every day - used a soothing pH-balanced toner - used a GENTLE chemical exfoliant - used retinol regularly - masked only every 2-3 days Some products I use in my daily routine that really helped my skin: PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliator as an all-over exfoliant PAULA'S CHOICE - BHA 9 Treatment as a spot treatment The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% to fade acne scars Products that I use every 2-3 days that helped my skin: AZCLEAR - Medicated Lotion (mixed with Niacinamide) to fade acne scars DRUNK ELEPHANT - A-Passioni Retinol Cream to bring out new baby skin ANDALOU NATURALS - CannaCell Glow Mask as a gentle exfoliating mask If you are going through something similar just know to take it SLOWLY. The skin is going through trauma and it is not an overnight success. If you have any questions I’m happy to answer.
UPDATE: I Quit Differin
This is a long overdue skincare update but I have quit Differin because it started to strip my skin barrier, and I kept breaking out even after applying the gel. LA ROCHE-POSAY - Effaclar Purifying Foaming Gel -I’m about to run out of this cleanser and I’m thinking about replacing it with a more moisturizing cleanser from the same brand. This cleanser is excellent but I wish it was a bit more effective PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliator -This has been a little too gentle on my skin so I wasn’t able to experience a huge difference after using this product The Ordinary - Lactic Acid 5% + HA -This serum is gentle on my skin and I have noticed an improvement in my skin’s tone VERSED - DEW POINT Moisturizing Gel-Cream -I came back to this moisturizer to give it a second chance and I’ve come to the conclusion that it is better for people with very oily skin and I have combination skin PURITO - Centella Green Level Unscented Sun SPF50+ -This product is a chef’s kiss. It is gentle, hydrating, and very effective at protecting your skin from the sun I am still breaking out but I’m not sure which route to take. I’ve been exfoliating quite a lot and I’m thinking about going the other path and restoring the hell out of my skin. Any recommendations to restore my skin’s barrier and to increase collagen as well as clearing out my pimples and acne scars would be much appreciated!
3 Steps for Smooth, Glowing Skin
The secret to a highlight-free glow is actually pretty simple when it comes down to it: healthy skin! But we all know that’s not super simple, so here are some tips to help keep you foundation-free but glowing like a Glossier ad: • Sunscreen: Any and all progress you make with a skincare routine is moot if you don’t wear sunscreen. Pigmentation, fine lines, wrinkles, rough texture, inflammation- it’s all exacerbated by UV exposure. To minimize UV damage and cancer risk, apply sunscreen every single day and try to reapply every two hours! My two favourite non-tinted sunscreens are PAULA'S CHOICE - Youth-extending Daily Hydrating Fluid SPF 50 and PURITO - Comfy Water Sun Block , but if you’d like some extra tone-evening and a hyperpigmentation-hiding boost, opt for a tinted sunscreen like elta md SKINCARE - UV Clear Broad Spectrum SPF 46 . • Hydration: When skin is healthy, it’s a pro at retaining water, which helps skin look visibly plump and happy. I like to supplement this a bit with a hyaluronic acid serum of some kind- my latest love is NATURIUM - Quadruple Hyaluronic Acid Serum 5% , a very affordable non-tacky serum that leaves my skin feeling quenched and bouncy. • Exfoliation: Skin smoothness can be disrupted by many things, such a lack of proper skin hydration, a compromised moisture barrier, inflammation, scarring... but, a simple fix for strawberry skin and general uneven texture, is good ol’ chemical exfoliation. I prefer BHAs typically, but find AHAs to be best whenever you’re looking for a quick fix on the night before a date! *By Wishtrend - Mandelic Acid 5% Skin Prep Water is super gentle and wonderful for smoothing skin without causing redness/irritation, though I also love the slightly more heavy-duty PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Perfecting 8% AHA Lotion and wish my skin could tolerate the iconic once-a-week DRUNK ELEPHANT - T.L.C. Sukari Babyfacial Mask . Another benefit of exfoliation is a noticeable increase in brightening and glow, courtesy of sloughing off all those dull dead skin cells! A quick reminder that my skin is combination (oily nose and chin with dry cheeks) and super sensitive, so my recommendations may not be exactly for you, but these guidelines should help guide you along the path towards a highlighter-free glow ✨ #CheriePartner *gifted
Correcting Dark Spots, Hyperpigmentation, & PIH
I get a lot of DMs about what to use to fade post-acne discoloration (PIH), hyperpigmentation, dark spots from sun exposure, and uneven skin tone. I have combination, acne prone skin and tend to pick at my blemishes so I’m very, very experienced when it comes to fading hyperpigmentation. Here are my recommendations, some of which overlap, and my favourite products from each category... • Sunscreen: I cannot emphasize enough that the number one way to help even skin tone is preventatively by wearing sunscreen. You can’t expect skin tone or scarring improvement without protecting your skin from UV rays that worsen those very issues you’re trying to treat. PAULA'S CHOICE - Youth-extending Daily Hydrating Fluid SPF 50 is the absolute best sunscreen I’ve ever used, though fans of mineral sunscreen may prefer PAULA'S CHOICE - Essential Glow Moisturizer SPF 30 • Acid Exfoliants: AHA, BHA, azelaic acid, and l-ascorbic acid are all variations of exfoliants. They work by ungluing dead skin cells, cleaning off the surface layer of skin, allowing new -and undamaged/normally pigmented- skin to show off bright and smooth. In-office peels will give the fastest and most obvious results, but twice a week OTC peeling serums can offer results for those with milder hyperpigmentation. DRUNK ELEPHANT - T.L.C. Framboos Glycolic Resurfacing Night Serum is super effective but my sensitive skin prefers PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Perfecting 8% AHA Lotion due to the gentler formulation. • Alpha Arbutin: Alpha arbutin is slowly broken down into hydroquinone by the skin, offering similar hyperpigmentation improvement without the potential negative side effects. Alpha arbutin is especially good for those with melasma or specific patches of uneven tone. I personally like to use The Ordinary - Ascorbic Acid 8% + Alpha Arbutin 2% since it pairs alpha arbutin with our next ingredient... • Vitamin C: L-ascorbic acid is the most studied form of topical vitamin c and the most potent, though derivatives also offer antioxidant and skin-evening benefits. Vitamin c has been shown to inhibit melanin production, helping to reduce hyperpigmentation and even out skin tone. This is considered one of the gold-standard OTC treatments for uneven skin tone and is a good addition to most morning regimens considering its wonderful antioxidant properties. My favourite vitamin c is the pictured Ascorbic Acid 8% + Alpha Arbutin 2% serum as it’s very gentle. • Azelaic Acid: Another ingredient that inhibits melanin production! I prefer azelaic acid to vitamin c, since it’s antimicrobial which helps with acne. Azelaic acid also has an added anti-inflammatory benefit for those whose acne is a byproduct of irritation. PAULA'S CHOICE - 10% Azelaic Acid Booster has been the most effective treatment for my hyperpigmented sensitive skin!
A great toner for sensitive skin
The I’m From Mugwort Essence - a great toner for sensitive skin I’ve been obsessed with mugwort. So I was happy to pick up I’m From’s mugwort Essence when it went on sale. On Wishtrend’s website it says that the “I’m From Mugwort Essence is a soothing essence made with the single ingredient of Mugwort Extract. The refreshing fluid formula adheres and absorbs into the skin to soothe sensitive skin and recharge moisture from within.” The texture is slightly thinner than a serum but still watery enough to use as a toner. My honest opinion: I absolutely loved this essence as a toner! It has a very herby green smell that dissipates pretty quickly. And it’s so calming and soothing for my skin. I like using it when my skin feels compromised and it’s wonderful for the summer as well and I’ve been out in the sun a lot. I used it in so many ways - 1. As a toner. 2. As a first step after cleansing. 3. As a DIY face mask 4. As a facial mist for extra soothing and moisturizing. I’ve been obsessed with mugwort. So I was happy to pick up I’m From’s mugwort Essence when it went on sale on Wishtrend’s website. Would I recommend this to anyone? Heck yes!! It’s such a lovely essence that I think anyone with sensitive skin or even normal skin will benefit from all the soothing that mugwort provides. This is totally a win in my book. :) Rating 5/5

INDIE LEE-Brightening Cleanser
krave beauty ⚡️
*the beet shield: this is the first sunscreen I’ve ever used and I’m already stocked up after this one runs out. It isn’t oily, it doesn’t leave a cast, and it leaves me with a glow! *matcha hemp cleanser: this cleanser doesn’t leave a tight feeling on my face and hydrates my skin :) it still does the job even when I skip oil cleansing *great barrier relief: anytime I use a new product or overuse a product that breaks me out, this serum is really good at calming my skin down. I can’t layer it with too many things but the purpose is to reset your skin *toner: this toner makes my skin feel really soft. when i first used it it tingled a lot, so I only use it 2 times a week max when I’m not using my mandelic acid. also i only use a little bc using too much hurts my face Through any products I have tried, I’ve always turned back to these and plan on reordering when I run out :)

PM Routine for Dry Sensitive Skin 🌙🌵
This is my boyfriend’s PM skincare routine (created by me! 😁). Before we met 3 years ago, he never moisturized or used sunscreen, and washed his face with body wash. 😱 As you can imagine, his skin used to be hella dry and dehydrated, and his skin barrier was damaged. He has very dry, sensitive skin, isn’t acne-prone, and likes simple and quick routines so that he doesn’t have to spend too much time getting ready. 🌙 PM Routine 1. BANILA CO - Clean It Zero Cleansing Balm Original This is a simple and affordable cleansing balm that he uses to remove sunscreen at the end of the day. It doesn’t irritate his eyes or leave an oily film behind. 2. ETUDE - Soon Jung, pH 6.5 Whip Cleanser He’s tried other simple cleansers such as the Cetaphil face wash and the Innisfree Blueberry Cleanser, and all of them have made his face feel tight and dry. This product does not, it is a gentle foaming cleanser that doesn’t make his skin feel stripped. 3. THE inkey LIST - Hyaluronic Acid Serum He uses this product on a damp face to hydrate his skin. My skin is sensitive to hylauronic acid, but my boyfriend doesn’t have any issues with HA serums. 4. ETUDE - Soon Jung, 2x Barrier Intensive Cream This moisturizer has skin repairing ingredients like Madecassoside and is great for his dry skin. It’s a little too occlusive/greasy on me, but his skin absorbs it well. 5. timeless SKIN CARE - Squalane Oil 100% Pure His skin is so dry that moisturizer alone is often not occlusive enough to last throughout the night. To supplement, he pats a few drops of squalane oil into his face as the last step of his routine. He reports that when he uses squalane oil, his face doesn’t feel tight and dry when he wakes up the next morning. Hope this helps those of you with a similar skin type as his! 😊 His AM routine is also posted on my page!

Night Time Routine
Hanskin - Pore Cleansing Oil PHA use this as my first cleanser. First time I used it I broke out, but now it is good. Very nice texture and help remove makeup very easily. Also it has pump which makes it convenient! Krave - Matcha Hemp Hydrating Cleanser Holy Grail cleanser! Packed with antioxidants and soothing ingredients that won’t strip your skin!! acwell - Licorice pH Balancing Essence Mist I use this as a toner and in between steps for added hydration. Love this mist so much, it really helps brighten and Sooth your skin! You can get it from @sokoglam Krave - Great Barrier Relief Amazing serum to bring your skin back to a healthy state! I use it every night, specially if I’m using actives/retinol #Paula’s Choice - RESIST- Anti-aging Clear Skin Hydrator[products]#[FourStars] Moisturizer at moment. Just started using it and so far is good. Nothing impressive yet but it has vitamin C and niacinamide so hoping it helps with my hyperpigmentation! PAULA'S CHOICE - 10% Azelaic Acid Booster love love love! I actually use this as a spot treatment (last step of my am/pm routines) on affected areas and it helps vanish blemish rather quickly (if not hormonal)

My Mental Wellness Improved Through My Self AcceptanceWhen I was around 13 or 14 years old, I remember routinely taking one of my older sister’s black eyeliner pencils before school every morning. I’d arrive early so that I could slip away to the girl’s bathroom to apply a single black line to my eyelids. My parents didn’t allow me to wear any makeup at the time. Although this smudgy line on my eyelids didn’t make me look all that much different, I never felt comfortable at school without it. My teenage mind convinced myself that I needed some sort of cosmetic symbol in order to appropriately express my femininity. Up until that point in my life, society had told girls that looked like me - tall, Black, and with kinky hair - that we somehow weren’t as beautiful as the other girls. For far too long, I believed it too.Feb. 17
