Unpopular Opinion: Hourglass Stick Foundation
Unpopular Opinion: Hourglass Stick Foundation
So I have a very unpopular opinion on this foundation. First of all, let me start by telling you my skin type. I have combo skin. It can vary depending on climate! In the winter I have really dry skin, with a an oily T-zone. Review: At first, I thought I was doing something wrong with my skin prep as the foundation seemed to be very dry and patchy. So I went ahead and removed everything and started to prep my skin and moisturize a bit extra, which I never have to do with any of my other favorite foundations. Upon application, I started seeing once again how dry the formula was, and how hard it is to move the foundation around. Don’t get me wrong, foundation looked really pretty once applied, the worst came when I set the foundation. I could tell how bad it was clinging to all the dry patches on my skin!! So my thoughts were, maybe I’m using the wrong primer, or I just got a bad batch. I gave the foundation a few more tries, and every time, foundation looked super dry and within a couple of hours, it started looking Super cakey and foundation started cracking! Keep in mind this is a $46 dollar foundation, I had really high expectations!!!! So I decided to go and change it, thinking I got a bad batch!!! Well, I was so happy coming home thinking that it was going to work for me this time!! Well no!! I just could not get it to work! I tried setting it with different techniques, tried not setting it, as it claims to be waterproof, tried different primers, but nothing worked!!!! I kept the foundation and I am on the verge of finishing it up, but I would not be repurchasing for sure! It is just not for me!!! 🥺🥺 do not spend your money, or get a sample before buying. Lesson learned for me!! 😭 HOURGLASS - Vanish Seamless Finish Foundation Stick

Plant delivered Squalane oil? 🌱 Review!
Plant delivered Squalane oil? 🌱 Review!
What is it??? 100% Plant-Derived Squalane is a lightweight, non-comedogenic oil that is found naturally in the skin. This treatment hydrates and restores a soft, supple texture to all skin types (including acne-prone). It prevents moisture loss with regular use. It can also be applied to hair to add shine and protect from damage. The Ordinary - 100% Plant-Derived Squalane Review!!! Packaging – Comes in a dark brown glass bottle with a dropper in UV protective packaging. To use – Apply a few drops daily or as needed to entire face ideally after water-based treatments. After I cleanse and I apply the rest of my skin care I use the 100% Plant-Derived Squalane on top of everything as the last step! Benefits – The primary function of The Ordinary Squalane oils is to moisturize the skin and hair. I love the oil is fast-absorbing and lightweight. Feels silky on the skin and is incredibly hydrating without being greasy – a pleasure to use. I use this at night along with the my tretinoin and I wake up with my skin feeling super smooth and hydrated. I also love using it before applying makeup to keep my skin glowing throughout the day. I use the oil twice daily and my skin feels so much bright and healthy. I smooth a small drop of oil on my hair after blowdrying, to smooth and add shine. The Ordinary - 100% Plant-Derived Squalane Review Pros – Extremely hydrating and moisturizing. Suitable for all skin types Soft and smooth skin Non greasy Healthy skin Shiny hair Cons – None!’ The Ordinary - 100% Plant-Derived Squalane

Is this truly a miracle product? (Long Review) ❤
Is this truly a miracle product? (Long Review) ❤
The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution Everyone is raving about the Ordinary Peeling solution on social media. And today I’m gonna review this product for you guys, so that it does not spoil your skin and you get know how to actually use this product and what to expect. So, a little about this product. The ordinary aha + bha peeling solution has both AHA ( Alpha Hydroxy Acid) and BHA (Beta Hydroxy Acid). Alpha hydroxy acids (AHA) exfoliate the skin’s topmost surface for a brighter and more even appearance. Beta hydroxy acids (BHA) also exfoliate the skin with an extended function to help clear pore congestion. A little about my skin : My skin is acne prone and a bit dry. I usually get hormonal acne near my periods. I stopped using physical scrubs as they started to make my skin more dry and they are harsh for the skin too. So, let’s talk about the product. I’ve been using this peeling solution for a long time now. First things first, DO NOT use this product after vigorously scrubbing your face or using a washcloth or any kind of harsh cleanser on your face. You just need to wash your face with normal water and pat it dry. Again, DO NOT put this product on wet or damp face. It’s going to irritate your skin for sure. And also, only use it at night while doing your skincare routine. So when you put the peeling solution on to your face for the first time, you will feel a tingling sensation on your face especially when you’ve never used any acids before and that is absolutely normal. You need to apply it evenly on your skin, keeping away from eye area, and then leave it on for 10 minutes. DO NOT leave it on for more than 10 minutes as it will start to tingle more and can irritate your skin. Wash your face with lukewarm water. Results: As I have acne prone skin and get hormonal acne from time to time, the blemishes that the acne leaves really started to stress me out. With the first use itself, I started noticing a glow on my skin and with time I noticed that my acne marks are fading and the texture of my skin started to change. You just need to use this product correctly for seeing the results you expect. It really helped me to fade my acne scars and my skin really started to glow. I don’t use physical scrubs anymore. I highly recommend this product for all skin types. As I also have sensitive skin myself, I can say that I never had any problem with this product. Just start using it guys, you will thank me later. After Care You have to make sure you moisturize your skin really well after using the ordinary peeling solution. I suggest to avoid any acne treatment/cream on the same night you use it. Use sunscreen DAILY. I cannot stress this enough. Guys, this solution acts as an exfoliant. And as a result it makes your skin sensitive to the sun. You have to make sure you apply sunscreen every single day. Have a great skin day 🥰🥰 thanks for reading! Plz comment a 🔥 if you read the whole thing 😱

How to properly apply Hyaluronic Acid? 🧐
How to properly apply Hyaluronic Acid? 🧐
First thing first? What’s is hyaluronic Acid? It is also known as hyaluronan, is a clear, gooey substance that is naturally produced by our body. The largest amounts of it are found in your skin, connective tissue and eyes. Its main function is to retain water to keep your tissues well lubricated and moist. Hyaluronic acid has a variety of uses. When used in skin care products like creams and serums, hyaluronic acid brings moisture to the surface of your skin, Because of its ability to draw and hold water, it can be used as a humectant in your skin care regimen. The HA within our bodies holds a thousand times its weight in water to not only retain all that moisture in our skin and joints, but also prevent all that moisture from evaporating into the air Promotes Healthier, More Supple Skin and many other things, depending how you are using it! ‼️‼️‼️Now how to properly use!‼️‼️‼️ hyaluronic acid needs to be combined with a water-loving lipid to truly hydrate the skin. If not applied in conjunction, the hyaluronic acid could actually be drying out your skin. Hyaluronic acid works by drawing moisture into the skin through its water-attracting (humectant) properties. But without a layer of moisturizer on top to act as a barrier (especially if your skin is already dry or you're in a climate with low humidity), the hyaluronic acid can actually draw moisture from your skin—hence the subsequent tightness. So it is best to apply your serum right after washing you face on a damp skin or by using right after your essence or toner!!! Also, a little tip, I stopped using towels and just letting my skin dry on its own after washing my face! It has helped me so much as towels retain dirt and bacteria. Plus, it reminds me to hurry and apply my HA right after before my skin dries 😉. These are by far some of my favorite hyaluronic Acid serums! I hope this helps! What’s is Tretinoin, Retin-A, Retinol??? 🧐
What’s is Tretinoin, Retin-A, Retinol??? 🧐
Keep in mind I am not a dermatologist! This is only my opinion and what I have experienced and learned about the product! Tretinoin is used to treat acne or other skin diseases as determined by your doctor. It works partly by keeping skin pores clear. Tretinoin is a retinoid, meaning it’s a form of vitamin A. Retinoids stimulate cell turnover on your skin. Dead skin cells are cleared off your skin more quickly as new skin cells rise to the surface. Quicker cell turnover opens your pores, releasing trapped bacteria or irritants that are causing your acne. One of the tretinoin creams is used to treat fine wrinkles, dark spots, or rough skin on the face caused by the damaging rays of the sun. It works by lightening the skin, replacing older skin with newer skin, and slowing down the way the body removes skin cells that may have been harmed by the sun. Tretinoin works best when used within a skin care program that includes protecting the treated skin from the sun. However, it does not completely or permanently erase these skin problems or greatly improve more obvious changes in the skin, such as deep wrinkles caused by the sun or the natural aging process. This medicine is available only with your doctor's prescription.!! There are available options over the counter, they are not as stronger but they essentially give you the same result over time. (: Side Effects I’ve experienced!!! burning and itching skin during the first month! After a while, your skin starts to get used to it, and you can start using it more often. I started once a week for the first month and second month I started by using it 2 times a week! peeling or redness on your skin for the first month!!! unusual dryness of your skin after use! Make sure you moisturize! skin that feels warm to the touch skin that turns a lighter color at the site of application Feel free to ask me any questions!!

Third month on Tretinoin 0.1% (Retin-A)
Third month on Tretinoin 0.1% (Retin-A)
I want to share my progress! It is mostly scarring now! I am still using my prescribed tretinoin once to twice a week only during my night time skin care! I am hoping to see the scarring away soon! My skin has been a lot more smoother and even oily 😱, as before, my skin used to be super dry! Not sure if the tretinoin has helped my skin go to its natural state. I was probably using the wrong products for my skin before, just making it dry or something, what do you guys think? Also, I plan on using the tretinoin 3 times a week or just every other day and see if my skin can handle it! I will definitely do another update in a month to show the progress !!!

Don’t shave without it! 👙🪒🧼
I have been buying Bikini Zone for years! I used to get bumps and irritation from shaving until I discovered this product. You use it like shaving cream, you put it on the skin and shave over it. Voila! You have an irritation free shave. I honestly can’t recommend this stuff enough for anyone who has the irritation from shaving. It’s one of my favorite bath/shower products. Go buy it!

Not for me
Not for me
I liked the concept of the liquid to powder medium coverage foundation but the result wasn’t for me. I found it look really flat and a little bit chalky on my face and you have to really shake the bottle to get it to be the right consistency when it comes out. I like it better than the heaviness of the Lock it formula, but I just didn’t like that it didn’t give any warmth to my face. I like matte foundations but I didn’t find this one to be flattering! I think it may work better for super oily skin types but I didn’t love this one.

You Only Need One Product For Professional Hair Removal!😲😲
You Only Need One Product For Professional Hair Removal!😲😲
In the UK, beauty salons have been closed for 10 weeks. 10 weeks!! I had a waxing lady in Kensington who I would visit every month, but that’s been impossible. Even worse, no one knows how many salons are going to be reopening at all. Many will have to close due to loss of business. This might leave us searching for at-home solutions for longer than expected.   I was always afraid of epilating. I don’t like the idea of mechanical tweezing. Plucking by hand seems fine because it’s just one hair at a time. Waxing is painful, but it’s over quickly. Epilating always seemed like the worst of both worlds - painful AND slow. But since ordering a Braun Silk-epil during lockdown, I can honestly say it was nowhere as bad as it seemed.   My main concern was my legs. My skin can be sensitive and I’m prone to razor burn, even with brand new razors. It’s been lovely weather so I’ve brought out the dresses - I needed to find a hair removal method that didn’t leave my skin sore and stubbly.   I ordered my BRAUN - Silk-épil 3 Epilator two months ago and I’m starting to feel like it was worth every penny. It wasn’t cheap at £89.99, but I figured I’d save this in razors over a few months.   As the instructions advise, I had a warm bath to open my pores, and exfoliated my legs. This particular epilator is waterproof, so I stayed in the bath to use it, which helped to calm my nerves! As you run the pivoting head across your skin, you can definitely feel the hairs being pulled out, but it really wasn’t that bad. It’s kind of similar to pulling a plaster off - a little uncomfortable, but bearable. The device has a rotating head and smaller attachments for your bikini line. You can use it anywhere, but I wouldn’t recommend delicate areas or facial hairs. The skin is very sensitive there and it might cause irritation.   I found using it at night is best, so any bumps or redness can die down and you can wake up to smooth skin.   The best part is, the effects last for weeks, not days. After 2 months, I only have to use it on my legs every 2-3 weeks, and my underarms once a week. The hair grows back slower, finer and softer. This is what really sold me, and I’m so glad I bought one. It only took a national lockdown to get there.

Is Fragrance That Bad For Your Skin?
Is Fragrance That Bad For Your Skin?
As many of you know, I’m extremely anti-fragrance, but recently I received a dm from @cate.steck on Instagram asking me how bad is fragrance really? She wanted the facts, and so I’m giving them to her. Let’s first talk about exactly what fragrance is in skincare and dive deeper into the different types of fragrance. When listing ingredients on labels, companies are required by the International Nomenclature of Cosmetic Ingredients (INCI) to list exactly what is in their product with the highest concentrations of ingredients at the top of the list. (Ex. If in a product the most amount of an ingredient is the fragrance, it’s at the top of the list.) But when you look at an ingredients list on a product like the one pictured above, you will find all fragrances just marked fragrance. This is an issue because people who are allergic to certain fragrance components can’t tell if that component is in the product they want to buy. Now moving on to the three main types of fragrances. The first type is Synthetic fragrance. The synthetic fragrance group mostly contains petrochemicals, phthalates, and benzene derivatives. Despite sounding very toxic, the main issue with these is irritation from the fragrance components. The second type is Natural fragrance. Natural fragrances are fragrances extracted from natural ingredients such as flowers or citrus fruits. Since these ingredients are not formulated to be in skincare, they are very unpredictable and can also cause irritation. The last main type is essential oils. Essential oils are generally listed separately from fragrance but they are a type of fragrance, meaning companies claiming their product is “fragrance free” while also stuffing it choke full of essential oils are just using loopholes. Essential oils are extracted from other natural components that are highly irritation and can cause severe allergic reactions. So by now I’m sure you’re caught on to the main issues with fragrance, but in case you missed them I’ll give you a refresher. You don’t know exactly what the fragrance is, it can be very irritating even to people with non-sensitive skin because it’s easy for your skin to hide it’s irritation, and it can cause severe allergic reactions. I personally find these reasons good enough to avoid fragranced products because the only thing they do is add a smell, and that really isn’t that important. Instead, you can light a scented candle or use a defuser to mask the smell of bad smelling products rather than giving yourself skin issues. Thank you for reading and make sure to give this post a cheer to make sure more people can get the information they need to achieve better skin. If you would like a shout out of your Cherie or Instagram handle, AND your beauty questions answered make sure to dm me @_sips_tea_ on Instagram or comment down below. -Naomi
