What a nightmare! I turn from oily skin to dry skin after using Clinique gel.
CLINIQUE - Foaming Sonic Facial Soap CLINIQUE - Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel · 19 years old I had oily＆sensitive skin when I was 19. I got to know Clinique series in a marketing class where the tutor introduced the segmentation strategy this company had adopted. At that time, I couldn’t be happier because Clinique provides differentiated products tackling separate kinds of skincare demands. I was too lazy to choose from overwhelming products in the market. As Clinique was best known for its laboratory technologies (sounds like good for sensitive skin), I guess I could give some of its products a try. · 19-21 years old Then I went into a shopping mall and tried Clinique foaming sonic facial soap and Clinique dramatically different moisturizing gel. It feels so cool, and I bought them without hesitation and began my extended two-year use of this daily routine. Guess what? I turned to dehydrated skin as a result—what a nightmare for me at that time. To reduce oil, I ended up creating another problem for me. Though the soap was good at cleansing (in this way, it reduces the chance of getting acne), it did make me feel tense on my face after a one-year application. I thought the gel would have been efficient in helping to offset the problem the facial soap left. But I was all WRONG! · 22 years old After another year of using those two products, I gradually found my face plump and radiant until I went into the beauty salon; dermatologists tested my skin type, which became extremely dry. The dermatologist that I should change products immediately. How frustrated I was. I thought it did include less moisturizing function in its moisturizing products only to pursue its goal of bringing a fresh feeling to oily skin. Maybe it (especially the gel) works out for some people. I would not return to buy products of this brand because it does little in moisturizing and is not cost-effective, though.

cwen91I used the moisturizing gel for years! I thought it was the best thing in my routine until I ran low and switched to my backup L’Bri aloe moisturizer and almost all of my redness went away. It was dramatic enough that friends noticed. After spending a ton of time researching what sensitive, oily, acne prone skin actually meant and needed I’ve switched to First Aid Beauty’s Ultra Repair Face Moisturizer and I’m in love.

Using Clinique for 7 Years 😱💛
Okay so I’ve been using Clinique products since I was in high school... now these were my holy grail and helped me keep my skin relatively clear! I recently just ran out of my last moisturizer and I’ve decided not to repurchase, and I’ll tell you why 🙃 I’m not a huge fan of the ingredient list, with multiple comedogenic and fungal acne causing ingredients it’s a no I don’t need a product this rich and creamy all year round I don’t like how the container exposes the product to air as you use it, it makes me concerned w the longevity The packaging makes it so that you can never actually get all of the product out when you’re getting near the end I know they’ve changed a lot of their formulas, but has anyone tried the new gel moisturizers and liked them??
Helppp. Need advice
Helpppp. I’ve been trying to switch to more eco friendly and less chemical/carcinogen based skincare. My face is breaking out so badly from masks and just generally being alive 😂😂😂. My face was clearest when I was using: Cerave sensitive cleanser or Clinique face wash Clinique toner 2.0 Philosophy essence Clinique hydrating gel (yellow lotion) No7 serum Clinique moisture surge moisturizer Clinique or no7 eye cream (alternated day and night) Clinique isn’t the most eco friendly so I’ve been trying to get away from that. I can’t do cureology because they don’t ship to my state. 🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️. Currently I’m using Clinique pep start cleanser or Alba botanicals rose cleanser Good molecules niacinamide toner or aha/bha toner Same essence Clinique hydrating/clearing jelly with the surface focusing cartridge Good molecules niacinamide and aha serums No7 or Clinique eye creams Clinique Moisture surge Something has got to give. I hate to go back to that old routine but I guess I can. Just figured someone would have some advice. Not wanting to break the bank. I finally conquered stubborn acne and I tell you the secret
I had acne-prone skin in my teens, probably because of the unstable level of hormones caused by natural growth. My mom told me that the secret of eliminating acne lay in deep cleansing and appropriate moisturizing. So I kept the routine of careful cleansing and moisturizing for three years from high school the second year to university freshmen year. By the age of 18, I no longer had an acne problem. The passage below will tell some of the products that I had been using and found useful in combating acne. · Clinique foaming sonic facial soap CLINIQUE - Foaming Sonic Facial Soap Although I said some bad words about this product in my other review, I still recognized it as the top one for deep cleansing. So if you are combating acne, you may need to ignore the fact that it may evoke a tense feeling on your face after using it. It is mild when applied, and after using this, the pore gets smaller. I can tell the soap penetrates the pore and brings out a considerable amount of trash from below. And I recommended it to my schoolmates with similar skincare concern, they all returned positive feedback in terms of preventing acne. However, using this foam daily will damage the skin layer, for it makes the skin feel tense. · Dr. Jart+ Porecting solution mask Dr. Jart+ - Dermask Ultra Jet Porecting Solution Bubbling Charcoal Sheet Mask So I tried Dr. Jart+ Porecting solution mask. It is perfect as it combines cleansing as well as moisturizing. It is a perfect one for absent-minded people like me who had a feeble memory of mixing which products together. When I went out on a trip, I would pack a bag of 10 or 20 masks, each one per day. It effectively dealt with oil and dirt produced during the long process of traveling. I love it, for it sets me free from acne concern.
Acne can be combatted as long as you choose appropriate products!!
For acne-prone skin, the most important steps of skincare lie in deep cleansing. Because a majority of my acne comes from the failure of doing absolute cleansing. I usually pay special care to the choice of makeup remover, facial soap and cleansing masks. Here are my reviews for some of the products that I have found useful or useless in combating acne. It seems that Bioderma Sensibio H2O Soothing Micellar Cleansing Water is highly recommended for a while. It rates 4.6 out of 5 in regard to customer reviews on Amazon. However, after using this French product for a couple of times, the area around my nose began to break out. It really frustrated me. Intending to clean up and avoid acne, it ended up worsening my skin condition. A sharp prickling sensation can describe what I felt at that time. It does not take off my makeup, especially eye makeup, as well as Estee Lauder(which I have recommended on my home page before). So it does no help to combat acne, instead it makes my skin more sensitive and unstable. After applying remover, I will use facial soap to assure absolute cleansing. The Clinique Foaming Sonic Facial Soap is really an excellent product to have. It gently yet thoroughly removes dirt, excess oil and impurities to reveal smoother, clearer skin, leaves skin feeling soft, comfortable and oil-free. I love this because it makes me feel so relaxed. I have been using it for a year, and my skin gets less prone to acne. When I feel too dry on my face but still need to do strong cleansing, I will use functional masks to do the cleansing as well as moisturizing. Dr. Jart+ Porecting Solution is a Korean bubbling charcoal sheet mask. It gives me a sense of deep cleansing when applying it. I feel the bubbles out of my layer of skin, taking away my dirt, my oil and etc. Maybe the charcoal does absorb dirt deep in my skin and refreshes my face every time I use it. It purifies my skin, and at the same time it moisturizes. This really works to protect my skin from acne. I get less acne. I highly recommend this. My must-have for cleansing!
These are my favorite skin car products🥰🥰

Two Moisturizers I Won’t Purchase Again 💧✂️
Cetaphil - Cetaphil Moisturizing Lotion 🌱 This Cetaphil moisturizer did not irritate my skin however I found it was too heavy for my face that I look so oily by the end of the day. Simple - Kind to Skin Replenishing Rich Moisturiser 🌿 This Simple moisturizer has irritated my eye lid area - eye lids are so dry and itchy the next morning. I also noticed a few break outs after multiple uses. 🌱 I tried both of these moisturizers because they claim to be lightweight, non-irritating and fragrance free. My skin is pretty sensitive and will react to anything harsh. I also have oily/combo skin and tend to be more oily in the summer. I am desperately trying to find a moisturizer for the day that does not irritate my skin or leave me looking like I lathered vaseline all over my face. If anyone could recommend a moisturizer that worked for the same skin type it would help so much!

Oily / Inner Dryness Skin Care Routine
I have always resented the fact that I have oily skin because it made me break out more often and left enlarged pores on my face. At the same time, I have inner dryness and if it’s not addressed, my face tends to produce more oil, which makes my skin concerns worse. However, over the years, I have come to terms with my skin and found a daily routine that works well for my skin type. Step 1 – CleanseProduct: Bioderma (Sensibio H20 Solution Micellaire)I like to go through a double cleanse system every night and I always start with cleansing water to remove the oil and dirt off my face to prevent build up that will clog my pores and lead to breakouts. This water is my holy grail item because it is very gentle on the skin yet effective in removing makeup residue or sunscreen, which I would apply every day. It does not have any scent, which is ideal for sensitive or acne-prone skin. Step 2 – Wash FaceProduct: Neutrogena (Deep Clean Facial Cleanser Normal to Oily Skin) Even though Bioderma’s cleansing water claims that it does not require wash-off, I still like to use a cleanser to get rid of any residue. This cleanser starts in a gel form, then lathers into a gentle foam when it touches water. I would have preferred it to be more foamy. However, it is just as effective in removing all the impurities and oil off my face, so I have no complaints. It has a citrusy scent, which I find quite pleasant, and my face feels very clean after using it without being stripped of moisture, so I quite enjoy this product. Step 3 – Soothing and Hydrating MistProduct: Avene (Eau Thermale Spring Water)I use this mist day and night, right after cleansing, to sooth my skin after the double cleanses and target my inner dryness. The mist spreads very evenly, covering every part of my face, and feel very refreshing and cooling, which wakes me right up in the morning. Step 4 – MoisturiserProduct: Clinique (Moisture Surge 72-hour auto-replenishing hydrator)Using an moisturizer is an essential last step of the skincare routine because it seals off the moisture we have applied beforehand and acts as a protective barrier for the skin. I chose this moisturizer because it is very light weight, in a gel texture, but hydrating enough to address my inner dryness, which prevents my face from over-producing oil. It also does not have any scent, so very safe for sensitive skin.

*2 products that have saved my face*
there are so many face cleansers and moisturizers that make my face extremely dry or do not do anything to help. Cetaphil’s Gentle Skin Cleanser and Moisturizing Lotion have •SAVED MY FACE• Cetaphil - Gentle Skin Cleanser is for all skin types. It is a face and body wash but I only use it for my face. The face wash cleanses without any irritation; and it maintains the skin’s natural protective oils and natural pH to moisturize and soothe sensitive skin as it cleans. it is gentle enough for baby’s delicate skin. It has gotten rid of all if not all than 95% of pimples or annoying little areas that are on my face. mainly on my Fore-head and chin area (but it has helped all over my face.) It cleanses my face very well and makes my face soft and smooth. I do not regret this purchase. It was really worth the money. *MORE TO KNOW ABOUT Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser* ♥︎It can be used with or without water ♥︎With water: Apply to your skin - gently massage all over your face; then rinse. 🌸 ♥︎Without water: Apply to your skin - gently massage all over your face; and remove with a dry cloth. 💫 Cetaphil - Cetaphil Moisturizing Lotion is a non-greasy, lightweight moisturizer. Skincare Spotlight: A dud 😞
Curology - The Moisturizer Nothing in the Curology line has really wowed me, but this is the only product I’ve used that just doesn’t really do what it claims to do. It’s supposed to be a moisturizer but it just feels like a smoothing primer. There doesn’t seem to be a lot of moisturizing properties to it like you’d expect. I’m combo-oily, so I don’t even really need that much of a moisturizer. However, this one was still a disappointment. I gave it two instead of one stars because it didn’t do anything bad to my skin. Would not repurchase. #cheriepartner
Sensitive skin and acne prone
I have very sensitive skin which has made me try many products!!! I tried the newClean&Clear - Acne Triple Clear Facial Cleanser which made my face burn and didn’t work. It made me break out more!
