The FOREO - LUNA play
is a small cleansing tool that claims: - deep yet gentle cleansing - lasts 100 uses - made of ultra hygienic silicone - suitable for all skin types I made a post a month ago that I found this little thing at Ross for $12 (retails for $40)!! I was excited to try it out after reading a lot of great reviews on this app. I have always used a physical exfoliator (Gonna be honest here, I used to be a St. Ives Apricot Scrub daily 😳 before learning about good skincare) After using this product 1 to 2 times a week for the past month, I'm ready for a review! I like that my skin feels soft after using this and how you can control how much pressure to apply in different areas of you face. BUT This product only lasts 100 uses, which sounds like a lot, but then it just gets tossed. That seems like a pretty big waste to me. Also, having combo/oily acne prone skin, I feel like any kind of gentle exfoliation can help my skin feel soft and cleaner. This is another reason why I feel like this product is a bit of a waste. It does take a bit of trial and error figuring out how much pressure to apply. Sometimes those errors can result in a compromised skin barrier. I've been thinking of switching to a chemical exfoliator such as PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliatorso I can use it a bit more often and get the same or maybe even better results. Having oily skin, I feel like it looks and feels dull more quickly. Overall, FOREO - LUNA play
isnt a bad product. It's just not the product for me. I didn't see the skin changing results that others were claiming they achieved and for the normal retail price of $40 for only 100 uses, it seems a bit steep. It does make my skin feel soft, but like I said, I think I can get that feeling from something better. If you want this kind of product - go for it! But I would spend a bit more money and get a better option from this company like a rechargeable tool.

D.BennettThanks for the honest review! Love to read it. But 100 uses!? That’s crazy 🙁

AM/PM Routine
Photo 1 - AM Routine CeraVe - Foaming Facial Cleanser For Normal To Oily Skin I LOVE this cleanser. Its super gentle and makes my face feel incredibly clean. The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% This product has definitely helped me control my sebum production resulting in clearer, smaller looking pores on my nose. This is the reason I got this serum so this makes me happy! I also feel like it helps me clear our my breakouts faster. Its a little tacky feeling when its sinking into your skin, but it does go away-just give it some time! Neutrogena - Hydro Boost Gel-Cream This moisturizer is great for my oily skin. It sinks in really well and feels great on my skin. It doesn't feel greasy at all, just feels like water. The only con I have is that it doesn't seem to keep my face hydrated all day long. It does keep it hydrated for the majority of the day though so its not such a big deal to me. There is no added fragrance or dye like the normal water-gel version. sun bum - Sunscreen Lotion SPF 30 I am not gonna lie, I've only recently started wearing spf. (I know, I know. I'm still semi-new to good skincare) I dont have much to compare it to, but this doesn't seem all that bad. It does leave a bit of a greasiness, but I also feel like it's not that bad. It doesn't leave a white cast. It does smell like a tropical beach, kinda coconut-y, but I do not mind that at all and neither does my skin. Neutrogena - Hydro Boost Sunscreen SPF 50I just got this product the other day so I dont have a rating yet. So far, it feels similar to the moisturizer, just a bit thicker. This leaves no white cast at all. Photo 2 - PM Routine GARNIER - SkinActive Micellar Cleansing Water All-in-1 Mattifying This product is awesome! It really helps remove makeup and spf without any kind of harsh rubbing. CeraVe - Foaming Facial Cleanser For Normal To Oily Skin Read above Radience Labs Collagen and Retinol Serum - Couldn't find this product on here, but I honestly don't know that it's doing much. My skin doesn't hate it, but I dont think I will repurchase it. FIRST AID BEAUTY - Ultra Repair BarriAIR Cream Safe for Sensitive Skin This stuff is UNIQUE! It has bubbles on the top of it with a thick gel/cream moisturizer below. It feels great on the skin. It really feels like air! It soaks in quickly and feels very moisturizing. It feels thicker in the tub than it does on the skin. The only problem for me is that my cheeks seem to burn/tingle at first. My cheeks are the most sensitive part on my face, but once it soaks in, it feels fine. Simple - Water Boost Skin Quench Sleep Cream This really keeps my face hydrated all night long without waking up incredible oily. Photo 3 - Exfoliator FOREO - LUNA playI'll have another post in depth later. Sorry for the long post, but thanks for sticking with me! I am looking to change to a chemical exfoliator.

Did I get the best deal?!
I was looking around Ross and saw this little guy just sitting there all beautifully! I picked it up and realized there was a clearance sticker on the bottom! I can't believe I found this Foreo Luna play for only $12!!! Needless to say, I brought it right back home with me. I'm excited to try this little thing out! I will update later on how it is working out for me. Anyone else tried this? How do you feel about it?

Hello everybody who has hearted my posts to see my skin care journey (: This is what my skin has been looking like still using all of the same products! The only thing I’ve added is a jade roller just because it’s sooooo relaxing lol. I do have acne scars and rosacea, but I’ve noticed my rosacea is reduced when I treat my skin well. Now remember I’m also 9 months Preggo and haven’t been eating the best 😬 Guilty I know, but my skin is looking so much healthier and glowier! I don’t have perfect skin, but I do see a huge improvement from what I’ve dealt with in the past. First I still use the THE inkey LIST - Oat Cleansing Balm balm to remove my makeup. Oats are very calming for your skin and reduce redness so I love the way this feels when I double cleanse. Next I rinse that off well and go in with my LA ROCHE-POSAY - Toleriane Hydrating Gentle Face Cleanser This stuff hasn’t broken me out once and I have very sensitive skin so I definitely recommend just trying it out for yourself. After I cleanse my skin I go in with my PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliator as a toner. (Only use at night) This stuff is strong, but I find using it only at night helps more because I’m not adding so much to my face. This has helped reduce my pores and also clear some mild breakouts and redness on my face. Next I go in with my amazing oil I got of amazon Cos De BAHA - Azelaic Acid 10% Serum with Niacinamide Acne Scar Removal + Redness Relief Face Now this stuff is AMAZING. I apply this with the dropper every morning and night and it is a miracle worker!! I would rate this more than 5 stars. It helps calm your skin and also helps with breakouts, hyperpigmentation and so much more. After this step I use my Neutrogena - Neutrogena Hydroboost Water Gel Moisturizer The reason I give it three stars is because it’s just your average basic moisturizer to me.. it works, but I’m sure there’s better moisturizers out there. For the price though it’s worth it if you want something easy. Next step after is always sunscreen in the morning! Never at night for me and I use GARNIER - Green Labs Pinea-C Brightening Serum Cream SPF 30 I only have been using this since December so I won’t give it five stars yet, but this is a good 3-1 face serum with spf! One thing I like is it doesn’t leave a white cast on me. Things I don’t like is how it has a lot of fragrance and it also can burn my eyes sometimes. If anyone has a better spf to try let me know (: That’s all I do for the morning and night time and then of course use my jade roller to feel relaxed. I do use my THE inkey LIST - Caffeine Eye Cream but I don’t see a difference on my under eyes. I’ll keep you all updated again soon ! ❤️

Update: my acne has reduced A LOT
I’ve been a bit MIA since my last post but here is the progress of my acne. If I were to pinpoint the main reasons why, then it’s these reasons: What I did wrong: - experimenting and using alot of different products. I was in a phase where I loved trying new products and my skin did not like that I was switching products all the time. - I did not spot test new products - overloaded my skin with many products. I don’t know who needs to hear this but a 10 step routine is NOT for acne prone skin. - drank little water each day - used harsh products without re-balancing my skin with soothing products - masked almost everyday What I did to improve it: - reduce the number of products going on my skin. I now use only a max of 3 products in the morning and 5 products at night. - drank 2 litres of water every day - used a soothing pH-balanced toner - used a GENTLE chemical exfoliant - used retinol regularly - masked only every 2-3 days Some products I use in my daily routine that really helped my skin: PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliator as an all-over exfoliant PAULA'S CHOICE - BHA 9 Treatment as a spot treatment The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% to fade acne scars Products that I use every 2-3 days that helped my skin: AZCLEAR - Medicated Lotion (mixed with Niacinamide) to fade acne scars DRUNK ELEPHANT - A-Passioni Retinol Cream to bring out new baby skin ANDALOU NATURALS - CannaCell Glow Mask as a gentle exfoliating mask If you are going through something similar just know to take it SLOWLY. The skin is going through trauma and it is not an overnight success. If you have any questions I’m happy to answer.

These FIRST AID BEAUTY - Facia
These FIRST AID BEAUTY - Facial Radiance Pads have been my saving grace right now. My skin has been breaking out and been hard to get under control the past month or so (quarantine stress?). I got the small size in my Boxycharm a while ago and LOVED them. My skin was looking clear and radiant until I ran out. So when I saw these during the Ulta sale I HAD to get the bigger size. I like to use them in the morning instead of my usual toner, and after a week of using them again my skin is already looking better. These little pads are magical and is the one thing making a difference for my skin. I just wish there was a bottle option instead of the individual pads that would be more cost effective.

Recommendations?
Recommendations?
So I don’t think my skin is awful but i think it’s not very nice looking either. I’m not sure what I need, I’m not to concerned about just acne, I’d love to figure out an overall skincare routine products. My biggest skin concern is it looks dull to me and it’s not soft and even. I do have freckles but I want to even my complexion and get rid of rough feeling to my skin as well as just brighten and help reduce look of pores. I have some scaring too but small and forehead wrinkles that I wouldn’t mind fixing up. I was thinking of adding a chemical exfoliate to my routine, one like the brand The Ordinary peel but I’m scared as people have said not to do it if you aren’t used to acids. I have never used any acids before. I’m wanting to start over so any recommendations for everything I’d need product wise in my routine would be great and preferably under 50$ for any one product. I think I’m looking for a good cleanser, one for morning and night, toner, a exfoliate, whatever might be useful to add, and then good moisturizers as I know they are important, especially cause my skin dries out after washing and showering. I prefer oil free products, as most oil products just clog my skin and break me out.

Why I LOVE Salicylic Acid!
Why I LOVE Salicylic Acid!
I have combination oily skin that has been breaking out more often lately. My skin concern as of lately has been acne and trying to reduce the marks left behind afterwards. My favorite ingredient to help with acne is salicylic acid because it acts as an exfoliant that removes dead skin cells and reveals smoother skin by breaking the connections between cells and allows the removal of the outermost layer of skin. It has the ability to improve skin’s texture by exfoliating both the outer and inner skin layers, which reduces unevenness and encourages skin turnover. This also helps quickly reduce painful blemishes and pimples because it reduces oil, clogged pores and swelling. My favorite product that contains salicylic acid is the Murad - Outsmart Acne Clarifying Treatment ! I have seen a lot of beauty bloggers on Instagram posting about the benefits of salicylic acid, so I was super excited when this product was a free gift from Ulta as part of their Diamond Day/Perk Day. I’ve tried other products with salicylic acid so decided to give this one a try too! I use this product as my PM serum a couple of times (usually 2-3) a week so that I don’t experience the drying side effects that can come with overusing it. I’ve been using it for a couple of months now and have noticed a drastic improvement in the number of breakouts I get and the amount of time they stay for. It is a lightweight gel serum that is soothing so I think it’d be harder to get those side effects (especially since the directions say to use it AM and PM, but I like using other serums also, depending on my skin needs). I’ve noticed my skin has recovered from breakouts faster and I haven’t been getting breakouts as often. . Price: $44 for 1.7 oz

A Spot Treatment Face Mask? YES!
A Spot Treatment Face Mask? YES!
It's #FacemaskFriday! 🌟Listen, everyone's skin goes crazy from time to time. Stress, changes in eating habits, even #WFH, and being exposed to different air particles can affect how your skin behaves. Face masks are a great way to tell your skin you're in control and to calm the F down. You're probably familiar with this pink mask I'm using here. But, you know it as a spot treatment or a drying lotion for those unexpected pimples that LOVE to show up whenever we have an important day coming up. However, at least once a month, I try to use this lovely tiny product as a FULL face mask. Yep, you heard that right. I use the spot treatment ALL OVER my face. Why? Well, this one, in particular, has 3 ingredients that make it the perfect face mask: 1) Salicylic Acid helps exfoliate and unclog my pores. 2) Sulfur absorbs excess oil. 3) Calamine helps soothe and calm my skin. Those three ingredients are the best way to press the reset button on your pimples and breakouts. Here's what I do: - Grab your favorite spot treatment lotion. I'm using the classic spot lotion by @mariobadescu - Instead of applying the treatment on your pimples, apply it all over your face - Wait at least 10-15 minutes - Wash thoroughly and follow with your usual skincare routine - IMPORTANT, make sure you end your routine with sunscreen! Even if you do this at night since most spot treatments make skin ultra-sensitive Alright, there you have it. Have you tried this before? Are you going to try it? High Frequency - ask for this at your facial!⚡️
High Frequency - ask for this at your facial!⚡️
⚡️High Frequency⚡️ All high frequency facial machines function by using a glass high frequency electrode. When applied to the surface of the skin, a mild electrical current passes through the glass electrode, causing it to emit a subtle glow and buzzing noise. During the high frequency treatment, enriched oxygen molecules are produced that create an anti-bacterial action and a "natural" thermal tissue warming. This reaction helps your blood vessels push away toxins, while the cells in your skin are enriched with nutrients and hydrating volume. The use of high frequency currents during a facial can have so many great benefits, such as; 🌿increasing collagen 🌿treating/clearing & preventing stubborn acne 🌿kills acne causing bacteria 🌿helps shrink enlarged pores overtime 🌿enhances blood circulation 🌿increase absorption of skin care products 🌿soften fine lines & wrinkles add High Frequency to your next facial!🌸

Zo Skin Health, not my cup of tea
Zo Skin Health, not my cup of tea
If you’re a regular skin clinic visitor, there's a good chance you've heard of this line through an aesthetician. I purchased these two babies after seeing stellar reviews online and wanted to bring out the big guns for tackling acne. It’s probably my most expensive purchase to date. ZO SKIN HEALTH - Exfoliating Cleanser Exfoliating cleanser: This is a gel cleanser with encapsulated vitamin e beads, salicylic acid, and small jojoba esters for light exfoliation. It creates a very foamy texture when applied. You only need a very small pea size amount to cover the entire face. I do enjoy fragrance in my skincare from time to time (and can handle it in small quantities), but this has a strong artificial perfume smell that I didn't love. I tried this for several weeks and found it very stripping - it gave my skin a "squeaky" clean feel and the beads dissolved too quickly to be effective at exfoliating. Also, the expiry date is 6 months after opening, which is quite short for a cleanser. I gave this to my boyfriend, who loves it, which goes to show that everyone's skin likes and dislikes different things. ZO SKIN HEALTH - Oil Control Pads Acne Treatment Acne treatment pads: These are textured pads with 2% bha. It was initially effective at helping to clear some clogged pores. It has alcohol quite high up on the list, which I found refreshing on my skin (which I know is not ideal for sensitive skin, but gave it a go anyways). This does do the job at helping to clear congestion, but I didn't find it that helpful on inflamed red pimples. I've resorted to using this on my back because I have other bha products (mainly my beloved Paula’s choice bha4 serum) that are more effective for both clogged pores and pimples. Also I don’t think pads are my thing - brings back memories of using Stridex as a teen. Le sigh, that feeling when you put down some hard cash only to get let down. That said, it may work for those dealing with persistent acne and are not dealing with sensitive/dehydrated skin.
