LIFE CHANGING DRY SENSITIVE Skincare routine
I have been on the hunt to find the perfect skincare routine for my dry-sensitive rosacea prone skin. It’s taken me a while to get here, but currently this has been my routine for the last 6 months and my skin is the BEST it’s ever looked. Routine: CAUDALIE - Make-Up Removing Cleansing Oil
Hyaluronic acid face washes
Eye makeup removers
Rose water toners

BEST PRODUCTS FOR VERY DRY SKIN💦 all drugstore!
It has taken almost 10 years, but we made it. I have found THE BEST products for my dry sensitive skin. First let’s start with my face moisturizer. The BEST moisturizer I found for very dry skin is BIODERMA - Atoderm Intensive Baume It is so thick but gets absorbed beautifully into the skin. It has ZERO fragrance (🙏my sensitive rosacea skin thanks you), soothes, repairs and moisturizes. Immediately after using it for the first time, my face felt so smooth and hydrated. And the next morning I woke up with a glow and visibly moisturized skin. Sometimes I can get itchy on my face due to the dryness and I find myself applying hydrocortisone (so bad, I know), but ever since using this, I have not reached for it once. I also put this around my eyes, as it’s gentle enough as an eye cream. 10/10 The BEST body oil This is shocking. I found this on a whim while I was repurchasing my face moisturizer and it changed MY LIFE. I have dealt with keratosis pilaris on my upper arms my entire life. It’s those tiny rough bumps that just DO NOT go away. But that all changed when I used BIODERMA - Atoderm Shower Oil This stuff is seriously impressive. I typically HATE putting on lotion after I shower, and avoid it as much as possible. But this stuff is great. It worked the first time I used it. My arms are so smooth. It’s not 100% gone, but it’s such a big improvement. And because it’s a shower oil, it’s so easy to use and lasts a long time. I apply it when I have my conditioner in, let it sit for a few minutes and rinse it off. I get out and my skin feels like I applied lotion. It’s fantastic. Again, like the baume, it actively works to repair your skin. I think I’m going to be buying this entire range 🤣 also, the bottles are in French and it makes me feel fancy. Lastly, because I’m dry I obviously deal with dandruff. It’s annoying, it’s embarrassing and it’s so frustrating. I have tried EVERYTHING to hydrate my scalp. I’ve done treatments, I’ve removed all Sulphates, I’ve done scalp exfoliations. It doesn’t work. Until I tried THE BODY SHOP - Ginger Scalp Care Shampoo This actually helps. It’s the most relief I’ve gotten from a shampoo, ever. It does take a while to work but around the 3rd week, I noticed my dandruff was not as visible. Now, when I wash, the dandruff is not there. It’s pretty incredible. However it does come back when I wait too long to wash my hair again (as I get itchy-and as seen in my previous post) Apparently ginger is known to work well for haircare and has been used for centuries to stimulate the scalp, restoring moisture and strengthening the follicle. I will never stop being on the hunt for new products, so if you have any recommendations please let me know!!!

Eco-friendly skincare 🌿
For reference, my skin is oily and acne-prone, and my main concerns are acne and hyperpigmentation. I think the phrase “clean beauty” can be dangerous because there aren’t any standards for what constitutes “clean,” so a lot of companies are just trying to capitalize off of it. However, I do do research into how sustainable and environmentally friendly certain brands are, whether or not they’re “clean” brands. For those of us who love skincare but also want to be conscious of how our habits impact the environment, it can be difficult to find brands whose values align with our own. A lot of brands skirt the question of sustainability, or greenwash their products with designs and buzzwords that make them seem more eco-friendly than they are. Farmacy actually has a section on their website about their commitment to sustainability, saying that they do things like partner with organic farms that use sustainable methods. I know that they partner with beekeepers in upstate New York for the honey that they include in their products, and they also partner with a small farm in California. I appreciate their efforts to support local farmers who farm sustainably. In addition, their packaging is made with paper that’s certified by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC), a non-profit organization that sets high standards for responsible forestry. This means that the paper used in Farmacy’s packaging comes from forests that are managed sustainably. The inks used on Farmacy packaging are also based on naturally renewable raw materials (like soy). Last, all their jars are glass and made from recycled glass and are recyclable, as long as you peel off the label first. As far as I know, their plastic containers (like for Bee Clean, Clean Bee, and Green Clean) are also recyclable; just check your local recycling rules to make sure you follow them. As for the products themselves, all are cruelty free—because animals are part of the environment too! Some mini-reviews of the products seen here: FARMACY - Clean Bee Ultra Gentle Facial Cleanser This is a lovely gentle foaming cleanser. It doesn’t strip my skin at all; the honey and hyaluronic acid leave my skin feeling clean and moisturized. The scent is beautiful, and a little goes a long way. I think this one is worth the price. FARMACY - Honeymoon Glow SerumI haven’t cracked this one open yet, but I’m super excited to! I just have too many other acids open at the moment. FARMACY - Honey Potion Renewing Antioxidant Hydration Mask I bought this full size after trying a sample size and loving it. The warming sensation is so luxurious, and it’s deeply moisturizing. FARMACY - Better Daze Ahead CBD Moisturizer This one has grown on me! It’s a thick, luxurious cream that helps a lot with my dryness from tretinoin. However, I wouldn’t pay $68 for it (I won this full size in a giveaway). #CheriePartner
Farmacy; mini brand review
Farmacy Beauty has been one of my favorite skincare brands at Sephora for quite some time now. I’ve tried about half of their products and for the most part I’m really happy with them. FARMACY - Clean Bee Ultra Gentle Facial Cleanser - Amazing for oily skin! A really simple gel cleanser that gets all the dirt and sebum off the face. Foams up really well without stripping. Mild scent. FARMACY - Deep Sweep - An absolute must if you want to look into acne treatments. It has a water consistency that absorbs well into the skin. It helped reduce acne, appearance of pores, and inflammation. It does kind of smell like mouth wash though... FARMACY - Dew It All Total Eye Cream - This did absolutely nothing for me. It’s just a hydrating eye cream. It’s not worth the 30 some dollars I paid for it. It’s also hard to get the last little bits out of the container. Not worth the price. FARMACY - Honey Drop Lightweight Moisturizer - It is a very lightweight gel moisturizer but it didn’t blow me away. I remember being super underwhelmed with this product and I stopped using it halfway through only to pick it up later down the line and feel the same way. There are better on the market. FARMACY - Bright On Massage-Activated Vitamin C Mask - Did nothing for me FARMACY - Honey Potion Renewing Antioxidant Hydration Mask - Very hydrating and very fun! It’s a thick mask that warms when rubbed into the face. If you have dry skin you’ll love how nourishing this is. FARMACY - Green Clean Makeup Removing Cleansing Balm - I absolutely love this for removing make up. It has a little bit of a slip to it but it rinses off really well and doesn’t leave your face greasy. It gets all the stubborn eyeliner and mascara off easily. FARMACY - Daily Greens Oil-Free Gel Moisturizer with Moringa and Papaya - I love this for oily skin! The gel formula is very hydrating and sinks into the skin without feeling too heavy. Works great under make up! #CheriePartner

Budget Makeup Remover for Sensitive Skin!!!
I had recently ran out of my CAUDALIE - Make-Up Removing Cleansing Oil (which has been discontinued 😔) as well as my CLINIQUE - Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm and I was looking for a new, but cheaper way to remove my makeup. I'm on a tight budget right now and couldn't afford to spend $30 on something that JUST removes my makeup. I tend to save money when it comes to cleansers, moisturizers and makeup removers, but splurge on the treatments and masks. I recently bought the POND'S - Cold Cream Cleanser after Dr. Dray, a dermatologist based in Houston recommended it on her YT channel. Ponds recently came out with a fragrance free version, so her, and now I, hopped on board! About the Product 🤍 This is a cold cream, which is an oil based cream first cleanse, that feels almost like a super heavy moisturizer. It gets the job done, but in no way is it luxurious or like "top-end" first cleanses. Their Balm may be different, but it has fragrance. This does have mineral oil in it, but don't worry, it's only a first cleanse so as long as you second cleanse you won't have to worry about it lingering on your skin. But In the process it does feel quite thick and filmy. My Experience 🤍 I have acne-prone, combination skin and this works well for me. It's definitely thick and you NEED to second cleanse to get all of it off. I apply it to dry skin and it breaks down my makeup but it doesnt really emulsify well or come off with just water, which Is fine by me, my second cleanse gets the job done. This did not irritate my acne prone skin or clog my pores. In fact my skin looks BETTER now then it did using the caudalie one, which had fragrance and some other pore clogging components. If you're looking for a good, budget drugstore makeup remover that is AMAZING for sensitive or acne prone skin, then give this a try! It's not luxury, but it gets the job done!!
Skincare Steps That Changed My Skin!!🌟
These are steps in the past year I've finally introduced into my skincare routine that changed my skin for the better! DOUBLE CLEANSING 🌟 I think back and wonder why the heck I ever used WASTEFUL, irritating, makeup wipes that never completely took off my makeup. And then, I thought I was upgrading when I bought a Neutrogena makeup removing foaming wash. It required harsh rubbing, especially around my eyes to remove my makeup. And it was not an enjoyable experience. I ended up with irritated, stripped skin. And my moisture barrier: DEMOLISHED. After watching Susan Yaras YT video over a skincare routine for people with clogged pores, I was finally convinced and bought the CAUDALIE - Make-Up Removing Cleansing Oil . It's high in linoleic acid which helps loosen clogged pores, control sebum, and minimize breakouts. The oils in this cleanser help to replenish moisture and soften skin. (without clogging pores or causing breakouts!!) And it removes my makeup SO easily and CALMS my skin. Highly recommend as a first cleanse! WASHING MY FACE IN THE MORNING 🌟 I have combo and acne prone skin. Out of pure laziness, in the morning I used to go straight to applying my makeup right on top of the built up oil my skin produced overnight, and the bacteria from my pillow. Then it continued to sit on my skin all day! I would recommend cleansing in the morning with a simple, gentle cleanser like the CeraVe - Hydrating Facial Cleanser . It also just feels nice to start the day with a clean, fresh face. And a smooth canvas for the days makeup! EXFOLIATION 🌟 I first started my Journey of exfoliation with the RENÉE ROULEAU - AHA/BHA Blemish Control Cleanser . And wow, it completely made a difference with my texture/clogged pores. It has BHA which is oil soluble and helps with unclogging pores, and AHA'S which help to exfoliate the top layer and smooth rough texture. I only use it about every other day to avoid over exfoliation. I also love the OLE HENRIKSEN - Glow2OH Dark Spot Toner . It's a strong toner with high amounts of AHAS that really help with my texture and brightening my dark spots. I also LOVE the FIRST AID BEAUTY - Facial Radiance Pads which are PERFECT for people with sensitive skin and can be used daily. It has a blend of lactic and glycolic acids which help with brightening, texture and breakouts, and cucumber fruit water and Green tea to help soothe/hydrate the skin. SUNSCREEN 🌟 This is SO important and I avoided it for the longest time. It seems like such a chore but can be an enjoyable step. But NONE of your skincare products will mean/do anything without including a sunscreen to protect your skin. Especially if you're exfoliating and exposing new skin. I like the RENÉE ROULEAU - Weightless Protection 30 as well as #Murad - Essential-C Day Moisture Broad Spectrum SPF 30[products]#[FourStars] , which pairs as a moisturizer w/ Vitamin C! Sunscreen balanced out my skin tone so much too!

Post-Halloween Skincare Tips 🎃
🎃With Halloween coming, I wanted to share some of my favorite make-up removing products and skin savers! I have sensitive combo skin that is highly acne prone, especially when it comes to makeup. 🌙 Very Cherry Clean Cleansing Balm $34 for 3.4 oz Cleansing balms are one of my favorite discoveries since starting my skincare journey. They are amazing at removing make-up, dirt, SPF and oils from the skin in a gentle way. My favorite is currently Very Cherry Clean by Farmacy which does the job and also has Vitamin C in it for brightening. You’ll want to follow this with a regular water-based cleanser but this is a great start when you’re done with your Halloween look for the night because it will melt it all off. When you begin to rinse, it turns into a milky texture and then when fully rinsed, it does not leave any residue. It also has a nice light cherry scent! 🌙 Oil-Free Eye Make-up Remover by Neutrogena $7.10 for 5.5 oz Although I use cleansing balms which of course do remove make-up, I always lean on this to get rid of any excess around my eyes. It is gentle and I’ve been using it for probably 15 years. This can be used on your face if needed. I’ve seen it do damage to a full face of face paint in college, although I would recommend using the cleansing balm FIRST, gently massaging it around and then going in with this if needed for any heavy eye looks that are being stubborn. This is my go to and I will always repurchase. 🌙 Healing Ointment by CeraVe $12 for 5oz When I’ve done something to my face like a full day of heavy heavy make-up and I know it’s going to be mad, I love using this as a nighttime moisturizer. This has Hyaluronic Acid and Ceramides so it’s packed with hydration. This has never made me break out and is truly an all around skin saver. I use this on my face, lips and any dry spots on my body. I feel like my skin is always happier the next morning with this product. I’ve purchased this for multiple people and will repurchase for myself over and over again. My Daily Routine (6 Weeks Update)
I’m very new to skin routines and skin care in general. After doing extensive research, I decided to keep my routine simple but effective. My goal is to lighten some sun spots and reduce fine lines. I started this routine on September 3rd. After 5 weeks, I experienced “purging” that lasted for almost a week. Results after 6 weeks of usage: My face and neck got much better and I can clearly notice how bright my skin is. The fine lines however are still there, but I will continue with this routine for the next 6 weeks Morning: It cleans my skin very well but it’s a little bit harsh, I have to immediately moisturize because my face gets dry. Neutrogena - Liquid , Facial Cleansing Formula It’s a great moisturizing serum, I noticed how bright my skin became after 6 weeks of usage CeraVe - Skin Renewing Vitamin C Serum I did not at all enjoy this sun screen, it leaves an obvious white cast and it peels off. I had to buy a powder to mask the white cast. CeraVe - AM Facial Moisturizing Lotion SPF 30 Evening: It’s a great makeup remover, I use it to double cleanse my face and neck. Neutrogena - Neutrogena Oil-Free Eye Makeup Remover I use it to wash off the makeup remover. My face feels very clean after using it. Neutrogena - Liquid , Facial Cleansing Formula It’s a great serum, it can cause some irritation but overall my skin tolerated it. I use it 5 times a week CeraVe - Skin Renewing Retinol Cream Serum This is an amazing cream, it moistures my skin very well. I like how my face feels in the morning after a long night of great hydration CeraVe - Skin Renewing Night Cream

Fresh Rose Deep Hydration Toner
It’s the water shots for me! Happy #watershotwednesday !!! I had a great time creating this content and capturing these beautiful water shots😍. Today I will be reviewing the @freshbeauty Rose Deep Hydration Toner. To start off, the toner is so beautiful to look at! The rose petals in the toner are aesthetically pleasing and very amusing to look at. I also really like the smell of the toner—smells exactly like rose water. My Experience: I absolutely love everything about this toner. This toner has really improved the texture of my skin under my eyes because of it’s antioxidant properties. I love the instant moisture when it touches my skin. The hydration aloneeee in the toner is just WOW. I was actually shook. My skin already begins to glow just with the toner alone. It is packed with hydration and perfect my night time routine. This toner is definitely worth the investment and I highly recommend. A toner that is hydrating and restores the pH balance of your skin is a win WIN for me!fresh - Rose Deep Hydration Toner
PM ROUTINE - summer 2020
SKIN TYPE - ☀️: combination/oily ❄️: normal/dry LOCATION - New York City STEP 1 - FIRST CLEANSE Neutrogena - Ultra Light Cleansing Oil I start with this only if I have makeup or SPF to wash off. I’m usually pretty skeptical of drugstore skincare brands that were popular in my teens (including Neutrogena) but this product only needs to do one thing great - remove makeup and oil. It’s straightforward, gets the job done, emulsifies with no greasy residue, and what knocks it up to 5⭐️ is because the price is RIGHT. —————————— GARNIER - SkinActive Micellar Cleansing Water All-in-1 Cleanser & Makeup Remover My first step if I don’t have makeup or SPF to wash off. The thing is, I think I’d rate all micellar waters 5⭐️ because we ask so little of them anyways. I ALWAYS rinse this off to make a clear path for my next products. STEP 2 - SECOND CLEANSE KORRES - Greek Yoghurt Foaming Cream Cleanser I double cleanse for PM only. Perfect for combination skin - hydrating texture of a cream & thorough cleansing of a foam. There’s a light, clean, sweet almondy scent that doesn’t irritate my skin or nose, and totally disappears when you rinse it off. A little pricier than what I would normally spend on a cleanser, but a little amount goes a long way! STEP 3 - SERUM(S) Glossier. - Super Pure Niacinamide + Zinc Serum This is what I would recommend to anyone with super sensitive skin that’s looking to introduce niacinimide into their routine. Many popular formulas use 10% and higher, so at 5% this is a great gateway serum! 😄 My favorite thing is the texture - all Glossier serums are lightweight, non-sticky, and absorb super quickly. The reason it’s only 3⭐️ is the price, which I find is mostly for the branding, as you can find the same serums elsewhere at higher strengths for much less. I use this on my t-zone at the same time I apply hyaluronic acid serum on the rest of my face and neck, and it’s my perfect combo-skin serum... combo —————————— Glossier. - Super Bounce Hyaluronic Acid + Vitamin B5 Serum I’m not sure if I love this serum or I just love hyaluronic acid. The texture of this (like all Glossier’s serums) is lightweight, non-sticky, and absorbs like a dream. The loss in ⭐️ is due to the ridiculous price for what the product is - a basic hyaluronic serum - which should be a staple product in anyone’s arsenal, and is available for much cheaper elsewhere with formulas that are just as effective. I use this in my serum step on everywhere but my t-zone, where I use niacinimide. STEP 4 - MOISTURIZER CeraVe - PM Facial Moisturizing Lotion This is a cult favorite for a reason. Ceramides, hyaluronic acid, niacinimide... the perfect cocktail before bed! A great sealer for your actives; not too heavy for combo skin. NEW STEP - Glossier. - Solution Exfoliating Skin Perfector Added this today post-cleanse for some AHA. Nice tingle, but no burn. Updates to come!
KORRES-Greek Yoghurt Foaming Cream Cleanser
my morning skincare routine ✨
so i want to start out by sharing some information about my skin. i have quite sensitive skin that tends to be on the dry side. i feel bad saying this, but my skin is mostly clear thanks to genetics. but, that doesn’t mean i don’t put the work in to keep my skin clear!! i’ve tried out quite a few different products, but these are the ones that i find myself reaching for more often in the morning. cleanser in the morning, i like to use a gentle, hydrating cleanser. lately i’ve been using the Kiehl's - Ultra Facial Cleanser . it’s a nice cleanser, but i wouldn’t say it does much for my skin. more often than not though, i find myself coming back to the CeraVe - Hydrating Facial Cleanser , which is so gentle and especially good for my dryer days. it always leaves my skin feeling soft once i wash it off. toner for toner, i’ve really been loving the PAULA'S CHOICE - Enriched Calming Toner . it’s nothing special, just a milky toner that does a lovely job of adding extra hydration to my skin. i’ve been trying to cut down on my daily waste, so that means i’ve stopped purchasing cotton rounds. to apply, i just put a few drops into my palms and press it into my skin. serum my go-to has always been the The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 . again, dry skin!! i just really love products that hydrate my skin. i just put a few drops on my fingers and gently pat it in. recently i’m trying out the NATURIUM - Vitamin C Complex Serum. i haven’t used it long enough to see an effect, but i’ll definitely post an update if i notice some results!! moisturizer it’s taken me wayyyy longer than necessary to find a moisturizer that doesn’t give me a reaction. i’ve tried quite a few that left my face bright red and burning, and i also have an issue with texture. i absolutely hate the way that creams feel on my skin. maybe i’m in the minority on this, but i am just not down with thick, rich, moisturizers. i really do prefer ones that are more of a watery gel-type. for the past six months, i’ve been using the CLINIQUE - Dramatically Different Hydrating Jelly , and i really like it!! it’s fragrance-free, which is always a huge plus, and it does a good job of hydrating my skin. i usually apply one to two pumps on my face and neck. sunscreen ah yes, the most important part of the routine. i’m incredibly sensitive to the active ingredients in chemical sunscreens, so i have to make sure i’m using a mineral sunscreen. for the past year or so, i’ve been using the tarte - Guard 30 Vegan Sunscreen Lotion Broad Spectrum SPF 30 . it leaves a bit of a white cast if i don’t rub it in enough, but other than that, i like this!! it always adds a bit of glowiness to my skin, which i am always here for!! thank you so much for reading!! 💗

Morning Routine - Dry Sensitive Skin 🦋
Hi y’all! I previously posted my skincare routine on here including skin updates, but have made some changes so I thought I would update it and split it into morning and night routines! I have combo (but more on the dry side) skin that is sensitive and acne prone. I am dealing with some new maskne outbreaks currently which has been demoralizing, but we’re working on it! Depending on how my skin feels when I wake up I will either water cleanse or use CeraVe - Hydrating Facial Cleanser So far I like this cleanser; it’s soothing to use and great for my dry skin. I haven’t seen much of a change in acne because of this product, but I didn’t really expect to either The Ordinary - Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG Haven’t been consistent with this, but when I use it it seems to help the puffiness under my eyes. Trying to use it daily and hopefully see some results! Then I go in with The Ordinary - 100% Niacinamide Powder mixed with The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 The Ordinary’s Niacinamide powder has gotten some negative feedback online, but I really love it since the zinc in the serum version irritated my skin. The main concerns are people using too high of a concentration, but I make sure to add way less than is even recommended. My skin purged at the beginning but I’ve noticed quite good results in a short time. Sometimes I will skip the niacinamide powder and just use hyalauronic acid, which is great in and of itself. Krave - Great Barrier Relief This is a new product in my routine. I use it when I know I’m going to wear a mask a lot throughout the day or when my skin feels sensitive; I also try to avoid using it after niacinamide since I don’t want to over do it with that. I might post an update on this specific product, but so far I like it and have high hopes! The Ordinary - Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA I used to think this wasn’t enough for my skin in the morning but recently reincorporated it into my routine when I realized that with the summer heat and my CeraVe moisturizing cream for dry skin was just making my skin greasy throughout the day. I also feel like it works better under my mask! Krave - The Beet Shield Another recent incorporation to my routine. Again might do an opinion update post but have high hopes for this too! I live in NYC so the fact that it fights against pollutants will hopefully benefit my skin, and also protect somewhat from maskne! Love this as an SPF though, and it absorbs right into the skin! Let me know if you have any suggestions or thoughts, or if anything in here works for you! Stay safe y’all! 🦋✨

PM Routine for Dry Sensitive Skin 🌙🌵
This is my boyfriend’s PM skincare routine (created by me! 😁). Before we met 3 years ago, he never moisturized or used sunscreen, and washed his face with body wash. 😱 As you can imagine, his skin used to be hella dry and dehydrated, and his skin barrier was damaged. He has very dry, sensitive skin, isn’t acne-prone, and likes simple and quick routines so that he doesn’t have to spend too much time getting ready. 🌙 PM Routine 1. BANILA CO - Clean It Zero Cleansing Balm Original This is a simple and affordable cleansing balm that he uses to remove sunscreen at the end of the day. It doesn’t irritate his eyes or leave an oily film behind. 2. ETUDE - Soon Jung, pH 6.5 Whip Cleanser He’s tried other simple cleansers such as the Cetaphil face wash and the Innisfree Blueberry Cleanser, and all of them have made his face feel tight and dry. This product does not, it is a gentle foaming cleanser that doesn’t make his skin feel stripped. 3. THE inkey LIST - Hyaluronic Acid Serum He uses this product on a damp face to hydrate his skin. My skin is sensitive to hylauronic acid, but my boyfriend doesn’t have any issues with HA serums. 4. ETUDE - Soon Jung, 2x Barrier Intensive Cream This moisturizer has skin repairing ingredients like Madecassoside and is great for his dry skin. It’s a little too occlusive/greasy on me, but his skin absorbs it well. 5. timeless SKIN CARE - Squalane Oil 100% Pure His skin is so dry that moisturizer alone is often not occlusive enough to last throughout the night. To supplement, he pats a few drops of squalane oil into his face as the last step of his routine. He reports that when he uses squalane oil, his face doesn’t feel tight and dry when he wakes up the next morning. Hope this helps those of you with a similar skin type as his! 😊 His AM routine is also posted on my page!

Week 1 of Barrier Repair
All through winter (New Zealand) I experienced dry, tight, flaky, red, sensitive, reactive, itchy and eczema prone skin. What a mouthful! Then thank you to an ad on instagram I came across this app, and I learnt sooooo much about my skin. I spent endless hours (when I could with a toddler) going through post after post on this app, taking notes, saving products and doing my own research. I realised I had compromised my skin barrier with endless products and a steroid cream prescribed by my doctor for my eczema (eek I know). I culled my whole routine as nothing I was using was working for me and purchased the basics, mind you I had to wait a while for some products to come from overseas as they are not available here (and some I couldn’t get a hold of at all so had to find similar products). My routine in Week 1: AM CLEANSE: splashed my face with water TREATMENT: The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 right now I am unsure as to how effective this is, my skin feels supple and soft but for any long term benefits I will have to wait and see. MOISTURISER: The Ordinary - Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA EYE CREAM: CeraVe - Eye Repair Cream with it only being week one, I haven’t seen anything dramatic happen yet SUNSCREEN: PAULA'S CHOICE - Calm Mineral Moisturizer Broad Spectrum SPF 30 I am still unsure about this as it leaves me with a white case initially but that fades after five or so minutes. PM CLEANSE: CeraVe - Hydrating Face Cleanser For Normal To Dry Skin so far this has been amazing, doesn’t leave my skin feeling tight. Feels really hydrating. I massage it in for about 1min before rinsing. TREATMENT: The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 EYE CREAM: CeraVe - Eye Repair Cream MOISTURISER: The Ordinary - Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA I was finding that this was just not hydrating enough for my skin and left me tight, and I needed to reapply a few hours later as I headed to bed. But still waking up quite dry in the morning. After a few days I realised I probably wasnt getting my sunscreen off properly and decided to add in a step in the PM. PRE-CLEANSE: BANILA CO - Clean It Zero Cleansing Balm Purifying I had this for removing makeup, a purchase I made on the whim about a year ago as I hated using wipes etc. I only realised after adding this step back in that this was making me reactive and I would wake up itchy with what looked like hives around my eyes/cheek. I culled both products (luckily I only purchased the 30ml of the NMF cream so I had pretty much used it up) and did some more research. See Week 2 of Barrier Repair for more...
