Saved My Oily Face
I’ve always struggle with oily face, mainly around the t-zone. I’ve tried many, many different primera and foundations and my face was oily within 2 hours of applying my make up. I’ve tried the Too Faced line and wow! I mix the primer with three drops of The Ordinary Niacinamide first, I dump my Real Technique blender and I apply the foundation. Lastly, I apply the setting powder with the same dumped blender. This make up line helps my face stay hydrated without getting oily. Too Faced - Peach Perfect Comfort Matte Foundation

Halloween Glam Look 2020
Halloween looked a bit different this year, but that doesn’t mean costumes and makeup went out the window! This year I decided to try a glam look—with a little twist. Plus, it gave me an excuse to try some brand new products in my collection that I can’t wait to tell you about. Let’s start with the foundation of my look, brought to you by BECCA - Ultimate Coverage 24 Hour Foundation in the shade Alabaster. I got incredibly lucky on my last trip to Marshall’s and scored this AMAZINGLY full-coverage foundation for $12. (Yes, you read that right. Becca foundation for $12.) This is about one shade lighter than I would typically wear, which made it the perfect base for a death-inspired glam look. This product is the most full-coverage foundation I’ve ever used, and it didn’t budge all night. No creasing, no breaking apart (even under a mask), and no fading. The finish is matte, but because of the Alabaster shade it still gave a slight glow. I can’t say enough good things about this foundation. I can’t wait to wear it again to test with a less dramatic look. When you’re going full-coverage glam, priming for and setting your foundation is absolutely critical. Without these products, I think my look would have been a goner within a few hours: Too Faced - Hangover Primer I laid this primer down first because it really does wonders for my skin. It’s not quite as tacky as I needed it to be, but I knew it was my first line of defense with the heavy makeup I was applying—so I used it as the first of two primers. The second? URBAN DECAY - All Nighter Face Primer for its tacky finish. All Nighter is an incredible line, and the primer is no exception. Layered on top of the Hangover primer, it created the perfect canvas for my intense Halloween look. After laying down my primer and foundation, I used my ABSOLUTE - HD FLAWLESS LOOSE SETTING POWDER in Brightening Banana for my under eyes and high points, followed by URBAN DECAY - The Ultimate Brush Off Translucent Loose Setting Powder to set the rest of my face. (I don’t typically set my full face with powder, but it was a MUST with this look!) Finally, after I laid down my shadows I set my entire face with the ultimate OG: URBAN DECAY - All Nighter Long-Lasting Makeup Setting Spray Another brand new product I tried with my look is the EYLURE - Line & Lash Adhesive Eyeliner in black. Lash adhesive liners are becoming very popular lately, but the Eylure Lash & Line is by far the best I’ve used. The liner itself is an extremely pigmented black, and the adhesive held onto my falsies all night without a single adjustment. This product beats all the other lash adhesives in my collection, and for $10, you really can’t beat it. Want to know more about this look? Drop a comment below for my lip and shadow details!👇🏻👇🏻 😘
My go-to makeup products
I don’t usually do my makeup, but when I do there are some products I never go without. I love a dewy, sun kissed finish, so I always start with a hydrating primer and end with a creamy blush. Here are some of my favorite products to get my favorite makeup looks! Too Faced - Hangover Primer has been my go-to primer for a couple years now. I love how smooth it makes my skin look and it always seems to downplay any dryness I might have. Even if I’ve been slacking on skincare, this stuff makes my skin and makeup look awesome! benefit - Boi-ing Cakeless Concealer is for sure my favorite concealer, hands down. I’ve tried a few others recently, trying lighter colors for under my eyes, and everything else cakes and rubs off so easily, so I just end up going back to my tried and true. I love her and will repurchase until the end of time. A more recent development has been my love of cream blushes. I’ve started buying them whenever I can get my hands on them and so far some of my faves are WANDER BEAUTY - Double Date Lip and Cheek Tint , BEAUTANIQ BEAUTY - Butter Lip & Cheek Balm , and Milk MAKEUP - Lip + Cheek . The ones I have are a nice range of colors from orangey to pink to rose. I like to put a little on the bridge of my nose to make it look like I spent a little too long in the sun the day before. I usually put a cream blush on the apples of my cheeks and my nose and blend it out with a similar powder blush toward my hairline and around my forehead. And that’s my usual makeup look! I usually go pretty lowkey with the eyes, just some highlighter in the inner corner and maybe some mascara. Stay tuned for photo evidence the next time I put makeup on! <3
Affordable Beauty Blender Comparison! ✨
I love a great makeup tool. Beauty blenders have a special place in my heart when it comes to getting the perfect makeup blend. Even though I still use brushes (I’ll never let those go), I find a beauty blender just helps things get a smooth finish. I found myself buying the Original Beauty Blender & let’s just say honey I loved it but I’ll never spend $20 on another beauty blender as long as I live 🙃 sonia kashuk - Marble Makeup Blender Sponge I love this beauty blender. I got it from target for $5! To me this is closer to the feel of the Original beauty blender. It’s dense Easy to clean AFFORDABLE (how can you beat $5) REAL TECHNIQUES - Miracle Complexion Sponge I know really 4/5 ⭐️? Yes I like this beauty blender because of how soft it is, but it’s very porous. When a beauty blender is too porous, it soaks up too much product! I found this leaving streak marks on my skin, and I’d have to reapply product & as expensive as my makeup is that’s a No-No! I recommend this to anyone who doesn’t want a full coverage look though. I got this from Walmart for $6!
Beauty blender dupes ✨
The first makeup sponge I used was the beauty blender pro sponge. I loved it so much. I used it every single day to blend my foundations, blushes, and powders. After using it so much it started looking old and I realized I definitely didn’t want to spend $20 for a sponge. I started trying out so many affordable ones and lots of them didn’t work until... Real techniques miracle complexion sponge, when it’s dry it feels slightly stiff but still nice and soft to the touch. When you wet it it becomes super soft. It blends my foundation very well, similar to the beauty blender at a 1/3 of the price! One of my favorite sponges so far! $5.99 and I’ve found these at marshalls and tj maxx for about $3-4! REAL TECHNIQUES - Miracle Complexion Sponge Hank & Henry midori sponge set, I got this sponge set in my boxycharm and I really like it. The set had the large and small sponge. Slighter stiffer than the real techniques but a nice sponge. The small one is perfect for blending on the inner corners or any hard to reach area. The large sponge gets HUGE when it’s wet, great for apply blush in my opinion and anything you want. Even if it’s kinda stiff this is still very soft. Unfortunately online they’re sold separately $14.00 for the large sponge and $9.00 for the small one. HANK & HENRY - Midori Bundle Miss A AOA studio super soft wonder blender, one of the best really affordable sponges I’ve tried. It’s really soft and blends like a dream. Very very slight stiffness when dry but super soft when wet. Haven’t had any problems with this one. $1.55! I didn’t have mines with me so I attached a picture of it. AOA studio - AOA Wonder Blender Last and definitely not least the original beauty blender in pro, super soft to the touch and incredible at blending. The hype is real. $20 beautyblender - Pro If you want to spend $20 every few months then this sponge is worth it, super great! If you’re like me that prefers a more affordable one than these options are great as well. These all feel great on the skin, blend your makeup and at the end of my makeup routine I’ve found that these all look very similar and almost identical to each other. ☺️✨

This review is long over due but the app kept crashing when I would try to post. And this app just has lots of bugs that makes it just nerve racking to use. But It’s been 6 months since buying my products by the ordinary and I definitely have something to say. Before I start: I should mention I was birth control (the pill) from May til September. I feel my BC helped to clear my skin. After I stopped I started to break out on my chin and forehead a lot! But I continued to use these products. The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 I use both of these products together. After washing my face i apply the Niacinamide + Zinc and then I apply the Hyaluronic acid + B5 on top. Then I would follow with my moisturizer. I haven’t found a moisturizer that I genuinely like the one I’m using is for your entire body and makes my face a bit oily after a while. My makeup (the serum) applies like normal on top. The hyaluronic acid has helped with dryness on my skin. I would usually still have dry/flaky skin even after applying a moisturizer but this product has eliminated this problem. The Ordinary - 100% Plant-Derived Squalane I like to apply this on my lips after doing a lip scrub or after applying a lip balm. It helps to seal moisture in my lips. I’m very skeptical about applying oily products to my face because I fear that it will break me out. So I’ve only been applying this product to my lips and some parts of my body. The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution I really like this product. I use it once every two weeks and at night. I was also using the AZTEC SECRET - Indian Healing Clay I would use this once in a while and I would mix it with matcha powder. I believe the AHA helped to clear my dark spots (acne scars). The clay mask helped to even my skin tone and minimize the wrinkles I had on my forehead. In terms of acne I feel like this is hard to completely eliminate because 1. I have been on and off of birth control, 2. My hormones (like most women) change especially around my period time, 3. Stress also does not help and lastly 4. Diet also influences your acne. However, I definitely believe my breakouts have been to a minimum and most of my acne never fully forms. This most likely has been with the help of the niacinamide + Zinc and also the masks that I use as well. For two months I also used DIFFERIN - DIFFERIN Acne Treatment Gel but I only used this for about two months. I didn’t see much of a difference using this product and I can’t use it along with AHA so I had to make sure I used them completely separate. The Ordinary - 100% Organic Cold-Pressed Moroccan Argan Oil I hardly use this product, but I use it only on my hair. It has a strong smell to it and I don’t see much of a difference, besides shine, in my hair when using it. -BM
How I Controlled My Redness 🥵💦
I have very fair skin and have struggled with redness and acne for as long as I can remember. I have tried a wide variety of acne specific skincare lines, spot treatments, and at-home techniques but nothing has tackled my skin concerns like this product! It took me a while to actually get my hands on this since it was sold out FOREVER! But now I understand why. With ingredients that are anti-inflammatory and hydrating this is the perfect water-based serum for anyone who deals with angry skin on a regular basis. By helping to balance sebum, reduce pores, and relieve redness this product will change your skin for good 🙊 The only thing I’m not a huge fan of is how the serum almost seems to bubble/foam up when I apply it to my face. Does anyone else experience this??? 🛁 This serum is not only vegan, but also: oil-free, cruelty-free, fragrance-free, and paraben-free! We are here for clean skincare! I will say though that niacinimide does have a pretty specific smell that you can’t really get rid of, I notice this smell in a lot of the CeraVe products I also use. So though it may say scent-free there is definitely a specific smell due to the niacinimide. Will I repurchase - 120%, this product has been a game changer for my skin! Also you can’t really go wrong with the price, that being said I might try another niacinimide serum that’s a little higher quality sometime next year.
Great everyday foundation and highlight
Although these products are on the pricer side, I really recommend the Peach perfect comfort matte foundation by too faced, and the becca champagne pop highlighter. I’ve used them for years and I found that I’ve never had an issue with them, even when I broke out and my skin texture changed. They have a great range of tones for the peach perfect foundation and I have found the perfect match. It’s a very comfortable wear and doesn’t cake or become too oily. As for the highlighter, it’s definitely a more universal tone, however mine has broken twice in my makeup bag!!
Best foundation I’ve had so far 🙌🏼
I’ve been using this foundation for 2 weeks now and have been extremely happy with it! Too Faced - Peach Perfect Comfort Matte Foundation Main Benefits If you have combination skin, you are probably looking for something with matte finish. That’s why this product is great. It gives you that medium coverage that covers your imperfections, but is barely visible. I’ve been getting a lot of compliments about my skin and people thinking I don’t wear any makeup (wooohoo, definitely a success!) Additional Features It has a really nice light peachy smell that I like and it is easy to apply. It is also oil free, which is definitely helpful for people with combination/oily skin. Note The product does state it is longwear (14 hours), however I feel like the product can last for 8-9 hours, which is still great for humid Sydney. It can probably last 14 hours if you live in a dry cool climate. If you have a question - drop it in comments!

My Current 10 min makeup routine
So truth be told I can do this in as little as 6 min, but if something goes sideways or I add something else it ends up being more like 10, but never over. What my goal is with this look is to look alive. I have a 3 month old, so there are night feedings and some days start at 5am. I also have a toddler, so I kind of need all the help I can get. I should also mention my skin is dry. This post will be my routine, not reviews, they have been done or will be. it Cosmetics - it Cosmetics CC+ Cream SPF 50+ So I start with this. It has my spf and has a primer built in. That said I prefer a light application, so I use a knock off beauty blender BECCA - Under Eye Brightening CorrectorI explained my current sleep situation, so I need a little brightening in my life. So this is just to get the shape right. L'ORÉAL - Voluminous Lash Primermascara and I have a love/hate relationship, so I need a little extra work. I use my shu um L'ORÉAL - Voluminous Carbon Black Waterproof MascaraLove/hate the relationship may be, but I need it to wake me umera curler
🍑Too Faced Peach Perfect Setting Powder🍑 This is my little mini one I got for free from Sephora with a promo code. I apologize for it being so tiny 😹. But I love trying out new things so I thought why not. 🍑This powder is very easy to blend and according to the formula, there’s fig milk in it. I like it a lot. I don’t have anything bad to say about it. It does smell like peaches, but in my opinion it’s faint. But I don’t mind, as long as it works well, which is does. 🍑CONCLUSION: A very good powder and I recommended it for sure if you’re still looking for a good setting powder and/or just wanting to try a different one :) (don’t mind the cut on my finger :( hang nails are the worst)
The Ordinary serum foundation
I love The Ordinary for their no-nonsense formulations and unbeatable prices. I had held off on trying their foundations for a while because I wasn’t sure I’d be able to get the right shade just by looking at swatches online, but when I was able to visit their store in Toronto a few months back, I picked up one of their serum foundations. Overall, I think it’s a great formula for the price. This is the lighter of the two coverage options, but it covered more than I anticipated. I was also pleasantly surprised that this did not break me out—it contains some coconut derivatives that evidently don’t agree with everyone’s skin, and I’m acne prone. But nope, I did not notice this affecting my acne at all, and it covered like a dream while giving me a natural, skin-like finish. Sadly, even though I bought it in person, the color ended up oxidizing on me and thus looking too dark. This could be remedied by just buying a lighter shade, but it was still disappointing. I also found that it tended to cake slightly around my mouth by the end of the day. I’ve put this product aside for now, as my skin has been doing well and I don’t need this much coverage anyway. Overall, I think this is a good pick for the very low price (around $6!). Be warned that you may need to get a lighter shade than normal due to oxidation, though. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a light to medium-coverage foundation on a budget.
The Ordinary-Colour. Serum Foundation
The Ordinary primer is really not so ordinary
The Ordinary - High-Adherence Silicone Primer If you're looking for a lightweight and non greasy primer to put under makeup, I definitely recommend trying this primer out. This product can ALSO be used by itself or as a last step in any skin care regime. I apply this everyday before my sunscreen and it has been AMAZING! The formula contains adaptive silicones to smooth out an uneven appearance, and fill in uneven textures. It's cheap in price ($7.90 from Sephora), absorbs quickly and leaves a beautiful smooth and powdery finish. This primer stays on all day (even in the summer) and I haven't had to reapply once. For those with sensitive and acne prone skin, I haven't had any additional breakouts since using this product nor have I had any skin irritation or dryness. This primer hydrates dull skin without becoming too greasy or oily. I fully recommend this primer to anyone! It's a great tool to have even if you're just going to use under makeup 😁 *this primer also contains NO PIGMENT. It goes on like a clear creme and dries completely clear with a powder finish*
The Ordinary-High-Adherence Silicone Primer
Good budget foundation under $10 but not for me
When this product first went on I was so amazed and impressed at how gorgeous it blended on my skin and did not feel gross. But once I’d finished my makeup and set it with powder (I live in a tropical climate) it was starting to kind of magnify my pores? For context I have genetically massive pores. Unfortunate, but I keep them as clean as possible and it is what it is. By the end of the indoor/outdoor function I went to (2.5 hours later) I looked like a hot mess (see last pic of me. Yikes.). It also doesn’t do much to cover redness and I had some flaky spots but that could also be my powder who knows. Maybe this is for you if you already have minimal redness, acne, and small pores? I will say it did not irritate my eczema at all (yay). Overall I would not personally buy this product again and only recommend it to people with minimal skin issues. The Ordinary - Colour. My Primer Awards
I have sweaty, combination-oily skin in summer and I have dark circles, tear troughs, slightly enlarged pores, and blackheads but no obvious acne scars. XIVA Stein's Actress Makeup Pink Primer It has a thick, dense, mousse-like texture that can be smoothly spread on the skin, keeping your skin shine-free and minimizing the appearance of pores, leaving your skin looking smooth. This makes it especially suitable for those with enlarged pores in the T-zone. It comes in a small jar but it lasts a long time. SOFINA Primavista Ange Long Keep Base UV Primer It's a lightweight lotion with a pink tone and it slightly brightens up the skin, giving it a matte finish. It offers great oil control and most reviews have confirmed that it keeps your skin shine-free for at least 4 hours. However, it doesn't minimize pores nor offer coverage. BECCA - Ever-Matte Poreless Priming Perfector It is an oil-free formula with a relatively thicker paste-like texture. It offers such effective oil control that it is only suitable for oily skin. It also helps with minimizing pores. I usually only use this on my T-zone. Tips: When using paste-like oil control and pore-blurring products like XIVA and BECCA, I recommend tapping and pressing the base makeup on lightly, otherwise it is likely to ball up!

One of my favorites is this red correction concealer. I use this for dark areas such as black circles, over small pimples and dark spots. IT COVERS EVERYTHING, if you blend it well! Top it off with concealer and my favorite foundation. I love it. Great and affordable corrector.
L.A. Girl-HD Pro Concealer
Too Faced Hangover Rx Replenishing Face Primer is one of the best primers out there. This is a replenishing face primer that hydrates, smoothes, and brightens skin for a dewy, healthy looking finish. This is used as a base for makeup that is infused with coconut water that works together to boost skins radiance and helps hydrate as well as locks down the makeup for a fresher, longer, and flawless look. This products targets all the pores, redness, and wrinkles on the skin making them less visible and make the makeup look amazing. It’s feels super light on the skin and had a very silky feel to it. This primer costs about $34. I have used this primer for over 3 years now and I have to say that I love it. I would recommend this product to everyone. It’s amazing and works so well on the skin. The primer is super hydrating and does not make me break out nor does it cause redness on my skin. I give this product 5 stars.
