Day 5 💛 Dewy Eyed Eye Serum
Happy early Thanksgiving everyone ✨ I wanted to be able to say that as I don’t know if I will have a post for tomorrow but I hope everyone has a safe and wonderful day. Day 5 of my BEEKMAN 1802 - Skincare Stars 7 Day Gift Setis the Dewy Eyed Illuminating & Depuffing Serum 🐐💛 The BEEKMAN 1802 - Dewy Eyed Illuminating & Depuffing Eye Serum retails for $42 and you get .5 oz of product (this is the travel size which is $15 for .17 oz). Beekman 1802 claims this eye serum instantly cools/awakens dull skin, fights dark circles, depuffs, as smooths out fine lines/wrinkles. It contains Persian silk tree bark extract to tighten the skin as well as fight dark circles and puffiness. It also contains their triple milk complex and active botanical blend. For the most part this was kind of meh for me. It just feels like a basic serum and for the price point I expected a little more. It absorbs nicely into the skin but I don’t feel the “cooling” effect it claims to have. I also don’t really see the tightening/smoothing effect either (granted I haven’t been using it long so I will continue to use the sample up and make a new post if I find any changes). The one result I do see though is the depuffing. It does have a nice depuffing effecg which I appreciate. One thing that threw me off was the illuminating claim in the name. There is nothing illuminating about this. I expected some sort of color correcting or luminosity to the formula but nothing. This is just a really basic serum that didn’t impress me. It hydrates some and depuffs the skin but nothing to justify the price. I also don’t feel like this would replace my eye cream. It’s more something I would pair up with it as it’s not as moisturizing as I would like.

So what exactly is azelaic acid?
So we all know about niacinamide for acne prone skin but do we know about the beauty of azelaic acid? Azelaic acid is a gentle leave on acid that helps the skin to renew itself faster. This helps to reduce blemishes as well as even out skin tone/post acne hyperpigmentation. It also helps kill the bacteria that leads to acne. While there is no treatment for rosacea this leave on can help decrease the swelling and redness. How long does it take to work? Just like niacinamide (and everything in skincare for that fact) it can take a few weeks to show results. Most time frames I’ve seen through research say to give it about 3 months. So if you’re not seeing results yet don’t be discouraged! What can I use this with? So you can pretty much use this with everything in your routine but I personally alternate it. For example I use the The Ordinary - Azelaic Acid Suspension 10% and niacinamide together but I use one in the morning and one at night. The reason I do this is because they are both brightening agents (like vitamin C as well) and I don’t want to pile too many products on my face. That being said you can use them together if you would like. Despite it being a gentle exfoliant this does not work in the same way as your typical AHAs and BHAs. You’re still going to need to use those in your routine for effective exfoliation. You also need to use sunscreen with this product as it does work to resurface the skin. What skin type is this geared towards? Typically this works best for oily, combination, and/or acne prone skin. Other skin types can see the benefits of this product but the only one I would be careful of is sensitive. It’s rare but I have seen sensitive skin types have a reaction from this product. So always do a patch test! If something burns please wash it off immediately. What results have you seen? I’ve been using The Ordinary Azelaic Acid every other day in the morning since the beginning of September and the biggest result I’ve seen is a reduction in texture on my skin. I actually had a customer the other day compliment how beautiful my foundation looked and how I had zero texture. This meant the world to me because once upon a time when I was in middle school/high school I used to wear foundation but not on my forehead (yeah.. take a second to imagine that. Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse everywhere but the forehead) because I had such horrid texture there that foundation would cling to. At work I have to wear a mask so you only see from my eyes up. I’ve also seen a reduction in redness on my cheeks and a reduction on the appearance of pores on my cheeks and nose (when used together with niacinamide).

Recently Deceased + The Waiting Room 🖤👻
I about lost it when Melt Cosmetics released that they were doing a collab with Beetlejuice. I immediately knew I had to buy the PR box (which physically pained me to purchase) when I saw these palettes. Purple and green are my favorite color story and as an elder emo the reds, greys, and black spoke to me. My favorite palette out of the two is the MELT COSMETICS - The Waiting Room Eyeshadow Palette . This palette retails for $58 and has 10 shades (6 ultra-mattes, 2 pressed pigments, 1 metallic, and 1 shimmer). I have the Gemini and Four Twenty palette by Melt and I feel as they keep releasing products their formulas are getting better and better. The metallic shade is super buttery with one swipe while the mattes/pressed pigments are so opaque. I had a video of the swatches (which really showed how beautiful the shade Juno was) but a glitch happened so I’m only able to show stills. If anyone wants the actual video posted please let me know. The black shade Char Man is the most pigmented black I’ve ever used. The second palette is the MELT COSMETICS - Recently Deceased Eyeshadow Palette which retails for $48 and has 8 shades (4 pressed pigments, 2 ultra-mattes, and 2 metallics). Just like The Waiting Room the metallic shades shocked me with how buttery and metallic they were in one swipe. The only shades I do have a problem with in this palette are Betelguese and Draw a Door. The colors are stunning and pigmented but I do have to build them up just a tad to get the true color pay off I want. Also, can we talk about how stunning the packaging is. The palettes come in a neon see through hard plastic casing with a magnetic closure (who else is a sucker for a good magnetic closure?) I love the attention to detail where the Sandwords connect when the palettes are next to each other. Now I’m not the biggest fan of mirrors in palettes but I know a lot of people are so they’ll be happy to know the mirror in this is the whole length of the palette. It’s huge and good quality. If I had to pick one palette out of the two to purchase it would be The Waiting Room. Both are good quality but that one stands out to me more. I think they are both worth it though if you’re a Beetlejuice fan or love the color story. ✨

Day 4 💛 Milk Foam Calming Bubble Mask
It’s been a few days but we’re back to the BEEKMAN 1802 - Skincare Stars 7 Day Gift Set . How is everyone preparing for Thanksgiving and Black Friday? How does everyone feel about stores stretching out their Black Friday deals all week? Today we’re doing day 4 which is the BEEKMAN 1802 - Milk Foam Calming Bubble Mask (I would give it 3 1/2 if I could). This bubble mask retails for $40 for 1.69 oz (the size above is $13 for .5 oz). Beekman 1802 claims this soothing mask bubbles up leaving skin soft, calm, and moisturized. They say it instantly calms skin, soothes redness, and plumps. The key ingredients are oxygen bubbles, their triple milk complex, and their active botanical blend. For the most part I liked this mask but my issue, which is the issue with a lot of this box, is amount of product for the price. The bubble mask is fun though! It starts off as a thick, sticky gel that you smooth over the skin. Within seconds it does start to bubble up. Mine started to slide down my face which wasn’t the most comfortable but I did also have a little bit of water on my face from cleansing. I would recommend making sure your face is completely dry before applying. When it wasn’t sliding the bubbles were a cool feeling but as for results I didn’t really see /that significant of a difference. My skin did feel soft and hydrated but I have other products (or masks... the FAB arnica relief mask does the same claims for three times the product and is cheaper). All in all I think this product is a pass unless you’re wanting something with that bubble effect. If that’s what you’re in it for this is a good mask. But if you’re looking for a product in general for hydration, inflammation reduction, and soothing there are better on the market.

Day 3 💛 Milk Mud Warming Clay Mask
Happy Friday everyone! ✨ How is everyone doing? We’re less than a week away from Thanksgiving. Sadly, I won’t be able to see my family this year as I moved to a different state two years ago and their state went back to red. My boyfriend and I are staying in and I plan on making some deviled eggs so help cheer me up as I can’t remember the last time I really saw them. Today I tried out the BEEKMAN 1802 - Milk Mud Warming Clay Mask from my BEEKMAN 1802 - Skincare Stars 7 Day Gift Set . Beekman 1802 claims this mud mask helps exfoliate, control oil, and minimizes the appearance of pores. It contains natural volcanic clay, natural jojoba beads, AHAs, BHAs, their triple milk complex, and their active botanical blend. It retails for $50 for 1.69 oz of product. They recommend you massage the product gently into the T zone and leave one for 5-15 minutes. They also claim it can be used as a spot treatment over night. When you rinse your gently massage the jojoba beads into the skin. This mask is thicckkkkkkk. It’s like the consistency of chocolate chip cookie dough. For the most part I didn’t mind this. It was a /little difficult to spread across the skin but it wasn’t too awful. My favorite thing about this mask is it doesn’t dry down. Masks stop working the minute they dry out. This stayed wet the whole 15 minutes I applied it to my face so I know I was getting the most benefits. It does have a warming effect that is really soothing on the skin! It only lasted about 10 minutes but it was still a lot of fun and something I enjoyed. I don’t know much about jojoba beads but I did so some research and it seems like this is a good alternative to most scrubs as the beads have a smooth edge. The beads were on the larger side and I liked this as I felt the exfoliation but I didn’t feel like I was damaging my skin in the process (I’m not the biggest fan of chemical exfoliation but I did enjoy this). It washed off really easily and didn’t make my skin feel stripped. Actually, my skin felt soft and kind of hydrated. My skin felt refreshed and clean without feeling tight or dry. So far I’m a fan!

Beetlejuice! Beetlejuice! Beetlejuice! 💚💜
Words cannot express how EXCITED I was when I found out Melt Cosmetics was doing a Beetlejuice collab!! I’ve never purchased a PR box in my life but I immediately knew I was going to get this. Beetlejuice was a HUGE part of my childhood. Some of my earliest memories are at my best friend’s house watching Beetlejuice at like 4 years old. It is hands down my favorite movie and an aesthetic I bring into my daily life (who else owns Beetlejuice pants?🙋🏻♀️) The #Melt Cosmetics - Beetlejuice Collection[products]#[FiveStars] retails for $350 (I know.. I almost died a little when I made the purchase) and is valued at $456. It contains: - The Waiting Room Pressed Pigment Palette - Recently Deceased Pressed Pigment Palette - Supernatural Lash Mascara - Supernatural Lash Curler - 125 years Ultra-Matte Gel Liner - The Afterlife Ultra-Matte Gel Liner - Utterly Alone Pigment Paint - Miss Argentina Ultra-Matte Lipstick - Ghost With The Most Ultra-Matte Lipstick - Calypso Iridescent Lipstick - It’s Showtime ElecTRIP Lip Paint - Weirder & Weirder ElecTRIP Lip Paint - Strange & Unusual ElecTRIP Lip Paint - Lydia Mirror - Lydia Brush Set in the Sandworm Clutch: - Round Detail Short #28 - Medium Shading #29 - Detail Blend #830 - Lip Brush #516 - Tapered Blend #820 I was shocked when I got the package at my door as well because it’s huge!! It’s asymmetrical just like the doors in the movie. Melt Cosmetics has some of my favorite bullet lipsticks ( Tomboy is my personal favorite). I also own their Gemini and Four Twenty palettes which are very pigmented and some of my favorites to use. I’m planning on doing reviews of all the products (plus swatches) in the future but I just had to share my excitement with you guys. Who else is obsessed with Beetlejuice? Anyone else grabbing anything from the collection?
Help Me, Cherie-Wan Kenobi. You are my only hope
I have a problem. That problem is sunscreen. I have tried about 20-30 sunscreens in my life and they all broke me out until I found glossier. The problem is that, as a queer person, I can’t support a company that does hatm to my trans family nor my Black and Brown family in spirit. I need help. I need a new sunscreen The sunscreen can be up to 40 dollars. It can’t contain: dimethicone nor animal ingredients nor actives. Can anyone help me? Thank you 🙏🏻
My power lip colour! | 🌹💪🏻💋
I’ve seen a few of you beauties (shout out @madihomewoodand @Mallory♥️) posting about your power lip colours, and here I am to share mine! These are colours that make you feel powerful, beautiful, and like your best self, ready to take on the world. I’ve always been a fan of a red lip - I got super interested in pin-up and burlesque culture at a young age, so it was only natural that this classic colour became my favourite to wear. I’ve experimented with every formula under the sun and found what works best for which situation, as well as discovering just how many shades of red are out there. It’s crazy what a difference just a slight undertone can make! I don’t necessarily have one top favourite product when it comes to a red lip, but here are a few that I find myself reaching for most often: ✨ Nars Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in “Cruella” - This is a neutral toned, medium-dark red. It has a matte finish and almost acts as a stain even when you’ve taken it off. $35CAD. ✨ MAC Matte Lipstick in “Russian Red” - A cult classic! With blue undertones and a matte finish, this red will flatter nearly everyone. $24CAD. ✨ KVD Vegan Beauty Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in “Outlaw,” “Nahz Fur Atoo,” and “Project Chimps (discontinued)” - All of these reds are slightly different, ranging from almost brick/deep terracotta, to a warm medium-dark, to a bright, blue-red. They have a matte finish and will stay. all. day. without a doubt! $28CAD. I love all of these products so much, but am always searching for another to add to my (probably too big…lol) collection of reds. 💸 I’d love to see you guys share what lip colour makes you feel good! Despite wearing masks and not focussing on them as much anymore, I think the power of a good lip colour is unmatched in the makeup world. 💄
Tis The Season for Healthy Hair 💇🏽♀️
I love this time of the year because this is when brands start to release their holiday sets, so you can imagine my excitement when Amika gifted me their Brooklyn Hustle bestsellers starter kit! I am no stranger to Amika hair products - they are one of my top favorite hair care brands. The name of this set, Brooklyn Hustle, is so fitting because all three products are perfect for sprucing up your hair in a pinch! 🧡 Included in this set: 🌟 𝒫𝑒𝓇𝓀 𝒰𝓅 𝒟𝓇𝓎 𝒮𝒽𝒶𝓂𝓅𝑜𝑜 - This is one of, if not Amika’s number one bestselling product! Believe it or not, I never even tried dry shampoo before until about a year ago (shocking, I know) - and I have relatively dark hair, so I am generally weary about dry shampoos leaving a white cast, but not with Perk Up! Perk Up effectively refreshes my hair, leaving no white cast or residue behind, doesn’t gunk up on my scalp & smells amazing! 💜 𝒮𝑜𝓊𝓁𝒻𝑜𝑜𝒹 𝒩𝑜𝓊𝓇𝒾𝓈𝒽𝒾𝓃𝑔 𝑀𝒶𝓈𝓀 - This rich hair mask helps restore your hair to provide nourishment to keep it soft, hydrated & healthy looking! Leave in for just 5-7 minutes & rinse; great hair mask that could be used daily or weekly. I personally use it on a weekly basis & leave in while I shave. 🧡 𝒮𝓊𝓅𝑒𝓇𝓃𝑜𝓋𝒶 𝑀𝑜𝒾𝓈𝓉𝓊𝓇𝑒 + 𝒮𝒽𝒾𝓃𝑒 𝒞𝓇𝑒𝒶𝓂 - This is my personal favorite from the set, and one of my top favorite products from Amika in general. As someone with naturally curly & frizzy hair, and sometimes drying (especially this time of year), this is a GO TO for me! This not only calms down the frizziness of my hair, but also gives my hair a healthy, shinier appearance (never greasy looking). Best quality? This leave in cream doesn’t weigh down my hair or leave my hair feeling crunchy! 🧡 Available now at Sephora and loveamika.com for $28! 💜 amika: - Brooklyn Hustle Haircare Bestsellers Starter Set

Loving this chemical peel!
Am I the only one who went out and bought this because of Tik Tok? I sure hope not🤦🏼♀️ - The Ordinary’s AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution is a great chemical exfoliant if you’re looking for something deep exfoliating on a budget! The AHA’s work on that topmost layer of skin for a smoother & brighter look and the BHA’s help with pore congestion. So this mask pretty much does it all. You’re only supposed to use it at most twice a week and be sure to not leave it on for over ten minutes. Thats how much power this mask has! - At first I wasn’t too sure about it (and yes it does burn at first) but after I tried it for the second time I noticed how much smoother and brighter my complexion already was. For being such a good price I was shocked! It also has helped a lot with a few small scars I had on my face. Definitely wouldn’t use on sensitive skin.
