Easiest At Home Wax Kit 🐳
Waxing my legs is something I’ve loved to do myself since I graduated esthetics school. I’ve always hated shaving and the “strawberry leg” effect it can leave behind. I wanted to thank Flamingo for sending me their Women’s Body Wax Kit and Women’s Face Wax Kit. The flamingo - BODY WAX KIT

Empty — Flamingo Body Wax
flamingo - BODY WAX KIT PRODUCT An at-home body waxing kit which is meant to make waxing a much more convenient, affordable experience. Texture: this is a soft wax (see the second picture for an example of the face strips, which are similar, but WAY worse), so the easiest way to use it is to apply the strip directly to the area, take a deep breath, and pull! OPINION I loved the idea of these when I first purchased them, and after using them, I was so disappointed. Firstly, I find that they don’t actually remove that much hair (maybe 20-20% of the hair in the Target area). I bought about 4 packs of these before I decided to give up on them. Given that these are a soft wax, you’re not supposed to apply more than once (because it attached to skin as well as the hair, unlike hard wax), so I don’t see how this would work unless you have a total of 10 hairs. I personally used this on my legs, underarms, arms and it wasn’t effective on any of these areas, despite the variety of textures. This product is pretty affordable, and it does make at-home waxing much more accessible, but I would not recommend it unless you have veeeeerrrry little hair. I give this 2/5 stars.
I’d rather get coal than flamingo - BODY WAX KIT When I heard about Flamingo I was excited to see a women’s shave brand also including wax in their lineup. I prefer wax over shaving, although I rely on a combo purely out of convenience. Unfortunately, these gave an all-around awful experience. I’ve used a lot of different waxes in a lot of different forms, and this was far and away the worst; it was both painful *and* ineffective! Each pull would only remove about 15% of the hair it covered. It left my legs red and angry and the individual follicles were inflamed for a week afterward. I followed all of Flamingo’s directions and tried on a few separate occasions to try to get them to work, but it was just an all-around fail. I used it on both fine and coarse hair, at different lengths, in different directions, etc. I’ve had great experiences with Flamingo’s customer service and love their lotion and shaving cream, but the waxes are a major miss. I’ve spoken to many people with similar experiences so hopefully they consider reformulating in the future!
Skincare... for your legs? Leg mask review 🧚🏼
I am someone who has always had really problematic legs. I suffer from chronic ingrown hairs, razor burn, clogged pores, everything! I am always interested in skincare that targets other areas of the body besides the face, so I was very intrigued by the idea of a “leg mask”. The fact that it also removed hair would be an added bonus. I applied the product, and it smelled HORRIBLE (well, like Nair always smells). I also had to apply over half of the bottle to cover both of my legs. I waited the specified time and then began wiping off the mask. It definitely did a great job of removing the hair on my legs, but other than that I really did not notice any benefits to my actual skin. Since this is a product that probably has a TON of chemicals in it, I will not likely purchase this ever again. It is good branding on their part, but this “leg mask” is nothing more than regular Nair.

Are Your Armpits Discolored?
Towards the end of June, my mom made a comment about how I should be using aluminum-free deodorants, so I decided to give NATIVE - Waterlily & Orchid Deodorant a try. I liked the smell and it shouldn’t be that hard to switch up deodorants, right? It’s now almost September and I have to say...I HATE WEARING NATURAL DEODORANT! Maybe it’s just this brand, in particular? I’m not sure, but a few nights ago I was HORRIFIED when I looked in the mirror and saw that my underarms had changed color. How had I not noticed this before? I felt disgusting and immediately hopped in the shower to wash under there real good. Upon doing a little more research on “natural” deodorants, I found that this is actually not an uncommon occurrence. Baking soda is one of the most common ingredients found in natural deodorants. This ingredient is highly alkaline, falling at a 9 on a scale of 1-14 (1 being more acidic). Skin has an acidic pH, landing between 5 and 6. When baking soda mixes with acid it can cause irritation resulting in discoloration, rashes, itchiness... I’ve never had an issue with underarm discoloration before trying natural deodorant and I’m so tempted to give up on it altogether, but I am going to try out the brand Curie. I seriously hope that I have better results with this brand, but I have little hope for that. Stay tuned! I’ll most likely report on Curie within the month!

My favorite body cream for stretch marks!
I recently found out that I have Hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, which is pretty complicated so I'll describe it another time, but basically it's a disorder with multiple forms and is a connective tissue disorder, so basically any soft tissues, bones, and joints are affected. I have the hypermobile type, which means that I'm naturally flexible, so I can do the splits and bend my back pretty far but at the same time it hurts. EDS has a rarity of 1 in 5000 and usually is difficult to diagnose since the symptoms are so random and there's so many. Anyway, one of the symptoms is stretch marks and/or atrophic scarring (those white scars that you can get if your skin was cut and didn't heal all the way) - but without any major weight gain or serious skin damage/injuries/surgeries. I have lots of stretch marks and the first ones have been there for about four years now, but I've noticed more since then and I haven't gained weight - like at all and my weight's been stable for a few years, yet stretch marks keep showing up. They're mainly on my thighs - the outsides, insides, top, and on my butt. Also there's some on my boobs - like for no particular reason? I haven't even gone up a cup size! I've actually gone down one, hence supporting my diagnosis. BUT! This cream is what's healing them!! I feel much more confident after using this body cream, first because it evens out my skin tone, but secondly because it has some the major ingredients that stretch mark creams and treatments have, like: aloe, jojoba oil, spearmint, shea butter, oregano, pearl, and tea tree. MIAMI BEACH BUM - BUM + BODY CREAM MINT I love this body cream because it tightens and smooths my skin without causing a rash (I have sensitive skin + I'm allergic to lots of things) so I can definitely say that this product is awesome and I'm really glad I found it. Just after a few uses - like once a day after I shower, I noticed my stretch marks fading and it seemed like they're healing and not as bad as they used to be. Hopefully this works for other people too! :) P.S. - I got this cream in my fabfitfun box and I was very happy about it since it's something I'll definitely buy again after finishing it. Also, it smells super good - unless you don't like mint and oregano, but there's also a vanilla orange one: MIAMI BEACH BUM - Bum + Body Cream Vanilla Orange

My thoughts on the SDJ body scrub
So here’s the thing. We all love and adore the iconic Cheirosa scent from Sol de Janeiro. I was extremely excited about this product launch in particular but I am extremely disappointed for one reason only: it has glitter. I don’t even like glitter in my makeup, let alone my skincare or bodycare. So this product was and will be a big no for me. However, if you actually like glitter - this subtle glow and gorgeous scent upon leaving the shower will have you drooling! This one is solely a matter of preference for me!

Best Shaving Routine for Sensitive Areas + Skin!
I cannot tell you how stressful it’s been the past couple of years trying literally everything to manage ingrown hairs along my bikini line and around the lady bits. Sometimes, depending on the heat, I’ll get really bad skin rashes on my legs and the armpit area, and with practically translucent skin, it typically meant I had to stay completely covered up. I tried dozens of different products- creams and serums specifically for shaving eos - Lavender Shave Cream (EOS- do NOT recommend any of their products if you have sensitive skin, only stick to their lip balms). European Wax Center also does not have great products for sensitive skin, even in their sensitive skincare line it’s proven to include really heavy products that still cause or continue redness. Yikes!! Whether waxing or shaving or sugaring it BLEW because nothing was working. Anyways, this stuff pictured above finally became the solution!! Aside from what’s pictured, to clean the area before this shaving routine, for ph balance down there, I love using DR. BRONNER'S - Peppermint Pure-Castile Liquid Soap or if your skin down below is feeling extra sensitive, DR. BRONNER'S - Pure-Castile Liquid Soap To exfoliate, I was wildly surprised when I applied by hand the TREE HUT - Sugar Scrub Coconut Lime because not only was my skin NOT irritated by it, but it’s truly got the best summer shower scent. Great aromatherapy experience, and this baby costs less than $10 and can last you anywhere between 1-3 months. When it’s the summer and I’ve shaving my legs more often, it’s closer to a 2-month timeframe. I also apply this with my hands pretty gently- I don’t use loofahs or other scrubbing tools to avoid potential redness, irritation and/or infection. Anyways, after exfoliating, the shave butter is epic, DR. CARVER'S - Shave Butter I stole it from my boyfriend, because I noticed he was using it as a face cream and his face was 1,000,000x softer than a baby’s butt. It’s normally packaged as part of Dollar Shave Clubs shaving bundle, but for what it is, it’s reasonably priced on an individual level. The flamingo - Razor has proven for price point and product quality to be great (refills are also cheaper than Venus, Intuition and certain men’s razors too). It also comes in really cute pastel and neutral colors if you’re big on that. Granted, I always shave really slowly, so consider this haha. After I’m out of the shower, I immediately apply fur - Stubble Cream and I also apply twice per week after I shower and don’t shave. While it’s more expensive, it’s really worth the price point, and has been lasting more longer than other creams in the past have while being way more effective in my most sensitive areas. Thanks for reading!✌🏼️

Say goodbye to razor bumps!👌🏻
There’s nothing better than getting into a clean bed with freshly shaved legs! 💖The only problem with shaving is those pesky red bumps that come along with it. 🥺 I have finally found the power duo that work to keep those bumps away! Exfoliating before shaving is really important not only to get a nice clean shave but to also make sure you don’t cut yourself as well! Many scrubs will work fine but I have found this one by First Aid Beauty actually helps to also chemically exfoliate which then stops the red bumps from forming afterwards! I think we all have used that super foamy shaving cream once in our lives and that’s find for the face but can be really messy and irritating for us gals with how much we need to use for our legs. I found this one by EOS going on more as a thick lotion and really helps keep my legs hydrated even after I have shaved. It’s also made for sensitive skin so it won’t cause any irritation! All in all I think these two products work wonders together and I don’t see myself using anything else to shave with from now on!
