10 Days of a Vitamin C Routine 🍊
Georgette Klinger 10 Day Radiance Challenge 🍊 Thank you Cherie and Georgette Klinger for gifting me their entire Vitamin C line in exchange for my honest review. All opinions are, and were encouraged to be, completely honest and my own. I think my favorite product out of the whole line was the Vitamin C Cleansing Gel. This is a gel cleanser that retails for $26 and you get 6.7 fl oz. They claim this cleanser will deep clean pores while reducing dark spots, helping fine lines and wrinkles, eliminates texture, helps and prevents break outs, and fight daily UV damage. I did really enjoy this cleanser. It’s a gel formula which works really well with my oily skin. I prefer this type because it did give a deep cleanse (I usually wear a lot of make up so I need this) but it didn’t strip my skin. I used it morning and night for 10 days and not once did I feel like my skin was tight or irritated. While I liked the formula it doesn’t foam up so I found myself going in with more product than probably needed. (This could be a con for some people but personally I’m okay with this because I know it doesn’t contain ingredients that could strip my skin just to make it lather better) One thing I didn’t care for was the smell. To me it smelt like a faint strawberry orange creamsicle. It wasn’t bad or strong but I just wasn’t a fan of it (or fragrance in skincare in general). Though it is a wash off treatment and is formulated at less than 1% so I can forgive that. I think if you have oily skin and/or are looking for a gel cleanser I would recommend this product. It’s something I personally am going to continue using after this trial. I will say it’s hard to see in the photos (all taken at the same time 5 days a part from each other) but I do see a slight difference in the hyper pigmentation I do have. My skin does look a little brighter and even which I’m happy about. The only issue I came across was my face is a little more red than usual. I do naturally have some redness in my skin and I was using niacinamide to treat that and while doing this trial I decided to not use it so I’m assuming it’s from that. Despite the redness I did not experience any irritation from this product. Oddly enough as well I think the products did have a positive effect on my pores. The more I looked in the mirror they looked slightly better to me. I believe with longer use of the whole line I would definitely see better results. Overall I am happy with my results despite the redness (which I’m going to reintroduce the niacinamide back into my routine and see if it goes away)

Vitamin C: the ultimate glow inducing ingredient
Vitamin C is one of my favorite powerhouse ingredients! This amazing antioxidant is just great to brighten, correct hyperpigmentation and get an even skin tone! 🍊 I personally am a big fan, and love to use vitamin C to get bright, luminous skin. It’s been so useful to me lately as I’ve been feeling stressed and picking at my skin and it’s so so good to correct darks spots and post-acne marks. These vitamin C products from Georgette Klinger (gifted) we’re just the perfect fit for me! The GEORGETTE KLINGER - Vitamin C Complex is a lovely serum formulated with Kakadu plum and hyaluronic acid (another ingredient I just love) to promote the absorption of vitamin C. It’s important to know the correct order to apply a vitamin C serum and it should always be after toner but before moisturizer, following the thinnest to thickets rule and you should always, always apply SPF after! Unless you’re applying it at night, in which case you’re good without SPF 😜 I first learned about vitamin C from my husband, and the statues my own research, it’s been one of my tried and true ingredients for years!
Brighter, More Even Skin in just 10 Days!
Before we start, pleaaaase pardon my quarantine brows/hair. **GIFTED: I’ve been trying Georgette Klinger’s new Vitamin Collection through Cherie for the past 10 days and have been loving the line so far. This was my first experience with GK and the first time that I’ve ever followed a routine from a brand, so I was excited to see how using products that were designed to go together and comprised of similar ingredients would affect my skin. As someone with sensitive acne-prone skin with a pinch of rosacea, I’m constantly chasing acne scars and dark spots trying to get rid of every last trace of my breakouts, so using a routine fortified with vitamin C has been really helpful is fighting discoloration/hyperpigmentation and redness. I’ve been using each product twice daily. On day 1, I had some hormonal pimples that were on their way out and my skin was super red from being in the sun. By day 5, the scarring began to decrease and I noticed that the bright redness had started to go down as well, making things look more even and now on day 10, everything is barely there and my complexion is noticeably more even and radiant. Dare I say, the vitamin C might be helping keep my breakouts at bay (fingers crossed!!) In addition to brightening my skin, I noticed that the products helped smooth my skin’s texture as well, which is always welcome. Overall, I'm really pleased with the way the Vitamin C collection has been treating my skin and am so happy to have been able to try it out!
an amazing line for dull skin + pigmentation
Georgette Klinger and Cherie gifted these products to me so I could review them honestly! I have been using them for ten days now, and I have thoughts to share! I supplemented this routine with a moisturizer, spf, and eye cream, as well as hydrating masks every three days. Pre-Information — I’ve used many vitamin c products in the past, and my skin likes the ingredient! I have combo skin, which is sensitive and acne prone. I also have rosacea, which makes my skin red, especially when using actives. Every product here has fragrance and all the products smell like an orchard (it’s strong!). If you are sensitive to fragrance, keep that in mind. GEORGETTE KLINGER - Vitamin C Cleansing Gel I like this cleanser, and I don’t usually reach for gel cleansers because they tend to be fairly stripping. This one is gentle and doesn’t dehydrate my skin on impact; I use it as a second cleanse at night following an oil based cleanser. It doesn’t irritate my skin, but kind of soothes it instead — which is a lot to ask for from a cleanser. Not the best for daytime use for me, I find that in the mornings my skin is better off with water + toner. Three stars because it smells like dollar store hand soap and I cannot ignore it. GEORGETTE KLINGER - Vitamin C Toner I think it’s an okay toner! I don’t like the dispenser at all, because product comes out fast and it’s hard to control. The viscosity of the toner is pretty thin, but my skin feels smooth after application. It sinks in fast and isn’t sticky! I use this with a reusable cotton round and it preps my skin nicely for the rest of my routine. It’s not really a “special” product for me, and I’m the kind of person who wants skincare routines to be ritualistic and also make me feel good on the inside, so I’ll have to pass on repurchasing. GEORGETTE KLINGER - Vitamin C Complex This might be one of my favorite vitamin c serums! It’s a little tacky, but sinks in faster than some serums I’ve used, and once you apply a moisturizer, the tackiness disappears. It’s pretty gentle and I didn’t experience any discomfort, tingling, or excess redness after application. I really like the packaging on this, and it’s an easy product to slip into your routine. GEORGETTE KLINGER - Vitamin C Mask This is my favorite product out of the four! I LOVE the packaging — pump top for a mask? Revolutionary. The pump makes getting product so easy, and you can control it easily. The texture of this mask is like a thick smoothie, and it smells good, too. I noticed my skin becoming brighter when I use this for a midday pick-me-up. I can guarantee that I’ll run out of this one first. Overall, my skin looks GOOD. I can’t tell if it’s just because of my cycle, or if these products did wonders for me (ten days is a short time to tell I think). I did notice some dehydration towards the five day mark, but overall my skin looks better!

Microneedling at home with a Derma Roller
I’ve been on a journey of finding ways to improve the hyperpigmentation on my skin. Low and behold the SDARA - Microneedle Roller 2.0 which I found on amazon. This little guy is supposed to help reduce wrinkles and fine lines, improve the appearance of acne scarring and hyperpigmentation, exfoliate dead skin cells, and help with the absorption of your products! Now, I’ll be honest it’s only been a week but I am enjoying my experience thus far. The prickling of the needles into your skin is an interesting experience nonetheless. Typically I Derma roll for about 2 minutes vertically and horizontally (they say Derma roll BEFORE the application of products) I did mess up by doing it after OOPS! Skincare is all about trial and error though right? Then I wash my face with my CeraVe - Hydrating Facial Cleanser then I apply my SKINCEUTICALS - Discoloration Defense Skin Discoloration Serum (which has changed my life, but that’s for another post). Next, I go in with my OLE HENRIKSEN - Banana Bright Vitamin C Serum (rating it a 4 because it makes my face sticky). Lastly I apply MINIMO SKIN ESSENTIALS - Radiant Skin Brightening Moisturizer (this here is the truth for discoloration and it contains turmeric, bearberry root, and licorice!) I heard Derma rolling is also great for stretch marks (which have magically appeared on my thighs) so stay tuned on my Derma rolling experience.

What happened after 10 days of a vitamin C line
Over the past 10 days I have been trying out Georgette Klinger’s Vitamin C line! For a bit of background, I have acne prone skin and some hyperpigmentation from previous pimples. I went into this hoping to see improvements. To get the negatives out of the way first, I really dislike that these products have fragrance. All 4 products in this line have fragrance listed as the last ingredient. I would prefer products with active ingredients such as vitamin C to have no fragrance at all as to reduce any chance of irritation. The Vitamin C complex in particular was irritating to my skin so I omitted it from my routine early in the 10 days. My favorite from his line is the Vitamin C mask. I’m a big fan of masks and wash off treatments. I also love thta this is a bentonite clay based mask because those tend to work well with my oily skin. I will definitely continue to use this mask and don’t mind the fragrance in this formula because it is a wash off. As for the toner and cleanser, I didn’t see much positive or negative effects on my skin. They were okay and got the job done but I’m not sure if they’re something I want to include in my everyday routine. At the end of this challenge I can definitely see an improvement in the brightness of my skin. I will say however that my skin took a while to recover from any irritation it faced and I’m not sure if including an active ingredient in every step of your routine is necessarily more effective.

Morning Routine for GLOWING Skin
After 3 months, I perfected my routine for: ✨GLOWING SKIN✨ My concerns: mild acne, moderate cystic acne, large pores, redness, uneven skin tone, prevent aging proactiv - MD Essentials System Value Set I’m allergic to benzoyl peroxide, so I had to find alternatives for my acne prone skin. When Proactiv came out with a formula that was benzoyl peroxide free, I jumped on it! On this routine, I have seen huge improvements in my breakouts, pore size, skin tone and texture. Each step in the kit and other: Step 1 Cleanse and Rinse proactiv - Deep Cleansing Face Wash This wash is gentile and leaves my face feeling smooth and soft. It has micro exfoliating beads that remove impurities and help keep skin clear. Step 2 Toner proactiv - Balancing Toner After breaking up with witch hazel, there’s no going back! I love this toner because I don’t feel dry at all like I usually do with toners. Leaves skin feeling clean and refreshed. Step 3 Serum (formerly my spot treatment step) #Apostrophe - Azelaic Acid Formula (Azelaic Acid 15% + Niacinamide 4%)[products]#[FiveStars] Although Proactiv MD cleared up most of my breakouts and reduced pore size, I still struggled with dark spots and jawline cystic acne. I knew I needed something a little stronger that was also compatible when using retinoids (night routine.) Apostrophe’s formula reduced my dark post-acne marks and evened my skin tone and texture. It also has anti-aging properties. No need for spot treatment, it’s designed to be used all over face. Pea size amount recommended. Step 4 Serum timeless SKIN CARE - 20% Vitamin C + E Ferulic Acid Serum BEST dupe for SkinCeuticals CE Ferulic Serum. Brightens skin after just a few weeks and helps with my uneven skin tone. Protects against environmental pollutants. 1-1.5 pumps for entire face. Step 5 Eye Cream proactiv - Eye Brightening Serum Eye creams can be scary, as the skin around the eyes is so sensitive! This eye cream is packed with peptides, vitamins C and E. While I noticed reduced puffiness, I hadn’t noticed an anti-aging difference until my boyfriend pointed out how “smooth it looks” under my eyes 😂 Step 6 Moisturizer/Step 7 SPF proactiv - Daily Oil Control Moisturizer SPF 30 🔑 Hydration is key when treating acne prone skin! I love that this moisturizer is lightweight, non-greasy and soft. Since it already has SPF 30, no need to use a separate sunscreen unless you will have prolonged direct sun exposure. Any skin type can use this gentle product. 1-1.5 pumps is all you need. Dries quickly. Step 8 Face Oil eve hansen - Golden Rosehip Face Oil I don’t use face oil everyday, more like 3-4x per week, when I feel like I need extra hydration. Helps reduce redness and locks in moisture! Has skin regenerative properties. Only 3-5 drops needed.

My special routine for mask.
Many people just put on their mask directly on cleansed skin and I used to do that as well. Not saying that’s wrong, but I find out a better way to make the most use of the mask. Personally, I like to add different products to a traditional routine to boost their efficiency and I am really amazed by this method I came up with mask and I have to say this changed my way to put mask a lot. Step 1: Cleanse and exfoliate—Clarins On-Step Gentle Exfoliating Cleanser It is known to cleanse our skin with nothing leaves on before the mask. I prefer to use an exfoliator to pre-cleanse my face by scrubbing it on first. My concern is acne and oiliness; this scrub cleanser from Clarins is quite gentle yet effective with tiny particles removing dead skin and oil and also easy to wash away. It doesn’t strip my face at all and the orange scent is so refreshing. Step 2: Fav Booster—The Ordinary Lactic Acid 5%+HA This water-like serum contains 5% lactic acid which is an alpha-hydroxy acid(AHA) famous for gentle exfoliation. It is super lightweight and does not hinder the ingredients from the mask at all. I actually experienced brightening the most from it and it is quite mild for me. So I apply this as a serum right before the mask. Step 3: The Main Course--Peter Thomas Roth Rose Stem Cell Bio-Repair Gel Mask This pink gel mask is so cute and caught my eyes for the first sight. Surprisingly it does work for me. It uses new technology to blend rose stem cells, rose extracts and rose water altogether to address problems like dehydration and dullness. I always store this in the fridge and it gets so cool and quenching that way. With scrub and lactic acid, the nutrients from the mask can be better absorbed and my face looks brighter after washing it away. I use a mask about twice a week, and I apply in this way every single time. This may not be everyone’s cup of tea since we all have different skin types and concerns, but why not letting our products show their full potential when possible?

My routine for coming spring❤️
My skin is dry in autumn and winter, and mixed in summer. The main skin concerns are acne marks and scars. So every time I do the skin care, the most concerned is how to do well in moisturizing and how to fade acne marks. My routine usually first use cleansing cream, then toner and cream, the last essence. Following I will share my personal routine. It has been spring recently, so the skin is not so dry as the winter, so I changed my cleansing foam to the Estee lauder. The name is super-pomegranate radiant energy cleansing foam. This kind of facial cleanser is very durable, and can cover the whole face with a little squeeze at a time. Its bubble is very rich, I use it with Luna face cleanser. After foaming, gently massage the whole face with the cleanser. Then wash the water with clean water. Your skin will feel fine and smooth, even brightening up. ESTĒE LAUDER - Nutritious Super-Pomegranate Radiant Energy 2-in-1 Cleansing Foam But it should be noted that this product is especially suitable for people with oily skin. For dry skin, it is best to use it only in spring and summer. Because of its powerful cleaning effect, if it is used in the case of particularly dry skin, it may cause skin sensitivity and redness. The next step is to use SK-II facial treatment essence. I'm a big fan of this essence. I've been using it in all seasons. Although it is essence, I have always used it as lotions. After cleansing the face, pour out a little on the cotton pad, pat the skin gently, it is very easy to be absorbed by skin. It can help skin lock moisture, and can add other functional essence. SK-II - Facial Treatment Essence (Pitera Essence) After using SK-II essence, I will use Guerlain abeille royale youth watery oil. This step is the key to my moisturizing. The rich glycerin ingredients in the oil make my skin very moist. Finally, I use La Mer the concentrate to solve the acne mark problem of the skin. Its function is to smooth the redness of the skin and promote the self-healing of the skin. It is more suitable for season change or acne scar removal, there is not much need to use every day. But it does a good job on fade acne marks and scars. Generally, the newly born red acne can be faded after one night's application. GUERLAIN - Bee Glow Youth Moisturizer LA MER - The Concentrate I usually use this routine all year round. The biggest difference is that I may change the parts of facial cleanser and moisturizer. But for SK-II and La Mer, I will not change. I've been doing this for about three years before making up in the morning and skin care at night.
