Old vs New: Moisturizers 🖤
Moisturizer is such a must!! It doesn’t matter what skin type you have, you always have to use a moisturizer! A rule of thumb is cream moisturizers work best for dry skin while gel typically work best for oily skin. That being said there are a few exceptions. For me that one exception was the StriVectin - SD Advanced Plus Intensive Moisturizing Concentrate For Wrinkles & Stretch Marks

Moisturizer barrier protection
Although I have oily skin, it’s also important to moisturize it especially during winter. Having dry skin can be a cause of acne. Dry skin also makes your makeup look dull. Dry skin also accompanies larger pores. And so it’s really important to make sure your skin’s moisture barrier is at a healthy state. I depend on StriVectin - SD Advanced Plus Intensive Moisturizing Concentrate For Wrinkles & Stretch Marks during the winter to moisturize my face. It’s a very thick cream so a little goes a long way. It not only hydrated but also prevent wrinkles as well. Bring this moisturizer down your neck as well because first signs of aging can be seen at your neck.
Forehead wrinkles and pores.
My forehead is the part of my face that shows age the most. I’ve always wrinkled my forehead but the wrinkles only became noticeable in the past year. The top picture was taken in May and the bottom picture in December. When it comes to skincare, I tend to play the long game. I rarely see instant results so I like to give products some time to work. Overall, I’ve noticed that my forehead wrinkles are less noticeable, my pores are less visible and my skin looks healthier and brighter. SEPHORA COLLECTION - Ultra Glow Serum: Glow + Strengthen Vitamin C SerumI started using this serum in the mornings under my moisturizer in May. I found this serum to be devoid of any weird smells, lightweight and almost watery in texture. My skin absorbs the serum right up and it doesn’t feel oily or sticky afterward. My only issue with this formula is that it comes in a clear bottle. Everything I’ve read says Vitamin C degrades with light. I hope Sephora figured out how to keep the serum stable in a clear bottle but I wasn’t sure so I kept it inside the box to minimize light exposure. Has anyone contacted Sephora about this? I didn’t see this addressed on the product’s page. StriVectin - SD Advanced Plus Intensive Moisturizing Concentrate For Wrinkles & Stretch MarksI usually follow up the Vitamin C serum with this Moisturizing Concentrate every morning. I also use this concentrate in the evening. The formula is creamy but thicker than other moisturizers I’ve used in the past. It leaves my skin feeling very moisturized. I only use a little bit because my skin won’t absorb all of it if I apply too much. LA ROCHE-POSAY - Toleriane Double Repair Face Moisturizer UV SPF 30I finish my morning routine with this moisturizer because my skin loves it! I don’t get breakouts from this formula and it has SPF. A definite AM winner. I’m keeping the StriVectin and the La Roche-Posay products but I’m trying a new Vitamin C serum that has better packaging.

👩🔬My Tretinoin Journey ~ 8 Weeks in
Hi all! I started tretinoin / retin-a about 8 weeks ago for the first time. I got my prescription from Curology specifically seeking tretinoin, which I told my doctor so he would be sure to prescribe it to me! Always tell them if you’re looking for a specific ingredient! 👩🔬What is tretinoin/Retin-A? Tretinoin is a Retinoid; retinoids are derivatives of Vitamin A (retinol, retinaldehyde, retinal, isotretinoin, adapalene are others.) Tretinoin’s intended and approved use is for acne, as it was created for acne treatment, but it is very often prescribed for anti aging and skin texture because through the decades of research, doctors found it was great for reducing wrinkles and large pores and repairing sun damage. Tretinoin increases cell turnover and exfoliates the top layers of our skin Decreases the shedding of dead skin cells into our pores + decreases inflammation It works much more deeply and much more effectively than its non-prescription counterparts, such as regular retinol Although strengths cannot be compared across the board, it has been observed that retinol is roughly 20 times less potent than tretinoin Decades of research confirm tretinoin as the holy grail, “gold-standard” in topical treatments for fighting acne + clogged pores, as well as smoothing out fine lines + wrinkles, reducing pigmentation from damage, and evening the skin texture 🙋♀️Who should use tretinoin? Tretinoin is suitable for most people; the only people who should be wary of it are those who have extremely sensitive skin, rosacea ❌Do not use tretinoin or any retinoids when pregnant or breastfeeding!❌ Dermatologists say that tretinoin is a great option for comedonal acne since it exfoliates + prevents plugging of the pores 💊Using/starting Tretinoin - tips from me + my dermatologist I’d recommend starting with tretinoin in a lotion/cream formula as it tends to be less harsh than the gel due to having soothing ingredients included in the formula. Curology has a cream formula that I absolutely love LOW + SLOW : start with a low dose (ask your doctor and give them your history) + go slowly with use. My derm recommended starting M W F of each week but do it less if you are experiencing too much irritation always follow instructions + advice from your dermatologist. With curology, I am able to send my provider messages and pictures with concerns and requests Simplify your routine! I did cut back to hydrating cleanser(s), hydrating toner or essence, thick moisturizer, my curology formula, + an oil on top to lock it all in. As your skin accustoms you will be able to slowly work those treatment products back in SPF ALWAYS🌞 I started tretinoin at 0.005% and upped to 0.01% after one month and I am seeing smoother skin and smaller pores, with very little purging. Pictures are from ordered from oldest to new except the first which compares starting with 8 weeks. FIRST AID REALLY SAVED MY SKIN ⛑🩹
FIRST AID BEAUTY - Ultra Repair BarriAIR Cream Safe for Sensitive Skin MY FIRST EMPTY FIRST AID FAB ❤️ As someone who has the most terrible dry, flaky, irritated skin over the winter. It’s always a struggle for me to find the right face cream for daily use to help my skin heal and stay hydrated while also healthy. I was breaking out like crazy because of over dried skin from the cold environment. And I can not really use any moisturizer or rather use JUST ANY skin care products as I have really sensitive skin. This repair barriAIR cream has saved me through the winter and still is! I have a better and stronger barrier than ever! It got rid of my dry patches, helped healed broken skin from breakouts, and keep my skin moisturized 💧 and it even cool down my redness which I was experiencing from other skin products. About the product: FRAGRANCE FREE SAFE FOR SENSITIVE SKIN STRENGTHEN, BALANCE AND HYDRATE LIGHT AS AIR CREAM TO FOAM MOISTURIZER 🧴 FOR COMBO, NORMAL AND SENSITIVE SKIN TYPES Recommended ✅ this product left me happy and thankful, I would repurchase!
This moisturizer feels so light on your skin, almost like whip cream. It is very hydrating without being too heavy or leaving the face too sticky. The packaging is also eco-friendly! Simple is a vegan and cruelty-free brand, and does not use harsh chemicals like parabens, fragrance, and colors! Great for sensitive skin 🤍 I have very dry skin which flakes in the winter, although it is warming up, my nose has been peeling and this moisturizer has put a stop to that! Although not all the ingredients are natural and organic, I feel like it is a great start in the right direction, and hopefully Simple continues on the right path to 100% clean skincare 💚

AMAZING MOISTURIZER FOR SENSITIVE SKIN
this rich cream is formulated with Japanese purple rice to make your skin a lot healthier and give it a nice glow. it has a blend of algae, which works to trap water inside of the skin and boost hydration and moisture. what I love about this product is that it is completely chemical free; it uses a series of botanical extracts to create a dewey glow on the skin! this costs about $68 for 1.7 ounces, and you only need a small nail sized portion for your entire face! I would say this is a really good moisturizer for the price, since it’ll last you a long time. the texture is really silky; it is a thick cream, definitely not gel like, i wouldn’t call this weightless hydration, because you can definitely feel it on your skin. i’d recommend this as a good nighttime moisturizer! Best Moisturizer Oily Skin
Hey babes! If you have oily skin like me, finding the right skincare products for your skin can be tricky! Anytime your skin is oily you need to balance the pH and used water based products and possibly cut back on exfoliating. 💧 One of my favorites moisturizers for oily skin is the Murad - Nutrient-Charged Water Gel !!! As the title says, this moisturizer is gel based and very gentle on your skin! It has a nice fresh scent and absorbs right away into your skin without leaving any residue because it’s also oil-free! 😍😍 This moisturizer has so many great ingredients like vitamin b3, vitamin e, zinc, copper and much more! These ingredients plump your skin, heal your barrier if it’s compromised, HYDRATE your skin and minimize fine lines and wrinkles so you’re left glowing! ✨✨ Whether you have oily skin, dry, dehydrated or sensitive, I highly recommend trying this moisturizer to see how amazing it is! 🥰 This awesome moisturizer is priced at $60 and is 1.7 fluid ounces! This is heaven!!! Silk for your skin!
this cream is the best you can use for dry skin!!! Is is recommended for sensitive skin. The consistency of TATCHA - The Silk Cream is very gel like, but it does leave your skin super soft and hydrated. Just like Silk!! We all know that Tatcha is a little expensive but every dollar is worth it ! It I’ll also last for months. Please try this cream and you will not regret it 😍.

Another HG product for dry skin!
This is the ultra repair cream from first aid beauty, which is another cult classic skincare and bodycare product that I really like! It includes colloidal oatmeal to soothe dry and parched skin, and I really do think it lives up to the claim! It’s scentless, which is really important when I use it on the dry patches on my face, and it is very light and sinks in very quickly! I love to use this product after my night showers, since I wake up with my skin feeling super moisturized! The texture is also a complete delight – it’s light and airy and so whipped!

Dry skin who? We do not speak of her! 🌟
When I first started using this lotion I had dry skin. As of now my skin is well moisturized and radiant! This lotion has helped improve and hydrate my skin! • I do realize that the item I listed on there is not this exact one, it was the closest one I could find. • This exact product is called ‘POND’s 24 hr moisturizer’ I would 100% recommend using this lotion to not just moisturize your skin but to give it that natural glow! 🌟
