My brow pomade collection 💜 + Reviews
I was going to wait until tomorrow to make this post but I couldn’t wait. As you can probably tell I went through my brow collection with making content today. Brow pomades are something I used to use pretty regularly but I’ve slowly switched to using powders. My favorite brow pomade in my collection is actually the COLOURPOP - Precision Brow Colour (which I just found out right now that it was discontinued 😭) . My issue with pomades (which I’ll get to more with ABH) is they tend to dry out quickly on me so I wanted something more creamy to work with. That’s how this was. It was a beautiful creamy formula that stayed put pretty well on the brows. I never had to worry about the product drying up on me. I think I had the shade Dark Brown. My least favorite in my collection is the ANASTASIA Beverly Hills - Dipbrow Pomade (which the more I’m taking the time to talk about ABH the more I realize I don’t like their brow products...) My issue with this is you get one good use out of the top layer and then it dries out on you. The first time you use it it looks beautiful on the brows and stays put pretty well but as you can see in my video the spots where I dipped into the product would just dry/cake up and be really hard to use. Honestly, I’m probably going to throw these out after this video. The most fun one I have is the KVD VEGAN BEAUTY - Super Pomade Vegan Eyeliner, Shadow & Brow Pigment which for the most part I really like! The formula has more of a slip compared to the ABH or Colourpop which I find a little hard to use. Granted the color is very opaque and you do get that bright purple even over my dark eyebrows without having to glob on product. I just have a hard time drawing lines with how extremely creamy it is. I definitely think these are worth checking out if you want a bright color for your brows for the opacity and longevity of the product. I’ve also used benefit - Ka-Brow! Cream-Gel Eyebrow Color with Brush in the past (I don’t currently have one in my collection) and I find it the most similar to the Colourpop when it comes to consistency! It’s creamy but not too much slip. Opaque and stays very well on the brows. If I were to purchase a pomade in the future it would probably be this one. I think the only issue I have with it is it can be hard to scrape out the pomade as you get further down into the jar.

My brow powder collection 🥸 + Reviews
You ever realize how many of the same products you’ve accumulated over the years just by different brands? I wanted to start a new series going through my make up collection and giving reviews based on products in the same category. First up, one of the smallest I have; brow powders. For this I only have two but I feel like it’s two of the biggest brow companies in the game right now. ABH vs Benefit. First up, Benefit (which spoiler, is the clear winner). I’m using the benefit - Brow Zings Eyebrow Shaping Kit which did get discontinued but they came out with a larger kit with the same formula in place of it. This compact originally sold for $32 and you for a brow powder, a brow wax, and a cute comparable dual sized brow brush. Oddly enough this brow brush is the best one I’ve ever used. I’m not usually a fan of brushes in compacts but the way this brush is tint and slim makes it so easy to apply the powder. I also really like the flatter end to dip into concealer to clean up my brows. I find this brow powder looks the most flattering on me with no fallout and doesn’t fade throughout the day. I don’t use the wax in this only because I use the Benefit Gimmie Brow instead but from a powder stand point this is the best I’ve found. Secondly, ABH (which I’ve been wanting to try for a long time). The ANASTASIA Beverly Hills - ANASTASIA Beverly Hills Brow Powder Duo was a huge disappointment. I’m not sure what I was expecting but it just didn’t look flattering on me. For $23 you get a two shade compact of brow powder. This may just be me because it has great reviews on Ulta but it just didn’t stick to my brows the way the Benefit did. I felt like I really had to work it into my brows to get the payoff that I wanted. This kind of sits in the back on my brow drawer and I never touch it.

I can see why this is sold out at Sephora 🖤
Happy #FriYay with the LAWLESS - Forget the Filler Lip Plumper Line Smoothing Gloss complimentary from Lawless Beauty 💕 I’m fully convinced 2021 is going to be the year of balm like glosses and/or tinted lip balms. I’ve tried a few new ones this year and by far this is my favorite. Lawless claims this plumping lip treatment softens, hydrates, and adds volume without any irritation. It smooths the lips surface and helps fill lines. Before I delve into a review I need to talk about the applicator because that is hands down my favorite part of this. I’ve never seen such a unique curved applicator that hugs the lips like this one. I know that seems silly but it completely makes the product for me. My only issue is with the beautiful applicator it’s a little hard to get it out of the tube but it’s not a big issue. I love the packaging/aesthetic of this as well. I think @lawless did a beautiful job on the packaging. The product is also a winner for me! The gloss has a non sticky balm like feeling. It’s been really nice to wear a little something on the lips (instead of lipstick which is so hard to wear right now) that feels nourishing that I don’t have to worry about it smearing everywhere. It has a slight plumping feel but is very comfortable and not irritating on the lips at all. It gives the lips a smooth glossy look that’s very flattering. I can completely see why it’s sold out on Sephora right now. 🖤 also, we’re going to ignore my nails. Retail isn’t good on the nails and I recently cut them/regretted painting them for this 😂

Briogeo is now at Ulta!! ✨
So I think I’m almost two weeks late to the party on here but Briogeo is now available at Ulta!! 💛🍌 This made me really happy to give my customers a cruelty free, silicone free, paraben free, and mostly vegan option (as I know it is important to some people). I’ve used a lot of the Briogeo Don’t Despair, Repair line in the past but the Be Gentle, Be Kind line was new to me. Since this product debuted I’ve always wanted to try it. The Briogeo - Be Gentle Be Kind Banana + Coconut Nourishing Superfood Shampoo and Briogeo - Be Gentle Be Kind Banana + Coconut Nourishing Superfood Conditioner both retail for $28 and you get 12.5 fl oz of product. Briogeo claims this is for all hair types and is a nourishing solution for those with dry, dull, and lifeless strands. It does have a very strong artificial banana smell (which I absolutely enjoy) so if you don’t think this scent is for you I wouldn’t recommend. My only real gripe with this product is the shampoo. It almost has a thinner consistency then normal shampoo so I find when I dispense it I end up getting a lot more product then I wanted (I know this is kind of a personal issue but it’s still something that popped up) Also, if I have any kind of dry shampoo in my hair I have to go in with another shampoo first to break up the product. If you have product on your hair there is absolutely no lather to break it apart. I noticed it’s not until my second cleanse that I notice any kind of lather. The conditioner is a whole nother story. I love the conditioner! Again, the banana smell is really strong which surprised me for a conditioner but I really like it. It feels really nourishing on the hair and left it very soft and hydrated. I have zero complaints. Out of both products oddly enough I recommend the conditioner more than anything. I also want to make a note that this formulation is made from 97% natural ingredients.

Are tinted lip balms the new lipsticks? 💋
I can’t be the only one whose noticed the amount of tinted lip balms prestige brands have been coming out with lately. Which I 100% understand! As much as I miss lipstick it’s just not practical right now. The only time I leave the house is for work and I’m not wearing lipstick for an 8-9 hour shift when the only people who will see it are my coworkers. Rare Beauty did gift me their new Stay Vulnerable Glossy Lip Balm for review. This lip balm retails for $18 and comes in 5 shades (I have Nearly Mauve). Rare Beauty claims this glossy lip balm has a cushion like feeing while shining like a gloss. It hydrates with a hint of color while feeling weightless, nourishing, and never sticky. My first impression was I didn’t like the packaging. I thought the flat end looked weird and the font on the packaging made it look cheap UNTIL I opened up the product. I remembered why Selena Gomez made the foundation bottle caps the way she did and when I saw how easy it was to open this lip balm I assumed it was for the same reason. It’s very easy to grip and open without strain. The wand also threw me off at first as well. It has this weird pointed cone shape but I quickly realized it’s really easy to use. You’re quickly able to apply lip balm without a mirror in five seconds as you just apply the balm between your lips with them closed. It does have a cushion like feeling that feels soft and not sticky at all. It gives a sheer mauve tint which I do find flattering. I feel as far as a lip balm goes my lips do feel nourished throughout the day but it isn’t any better than any other lip balm I own. Overall I do really like it but I would not purchase it. $18 is a little pricey for it just being a “nice” product and not something that blows me out of the water. Hands down the BEST skincare tip I’ve received ✨
Do you ever look back on your skincare routine a few years ago and wonder how you ever managed? 😂 That’s me. I remember a few years ago talking to a friend about one skincare tip I found so weird at the time. We both followed a skincare blog on Instagram and they were talking about how they apply their skincare products on a wet face. This was before I got my esthetics license and knew anything about skincare. I thought this diluted the products and did nothing. Boy, was I wrong. You absolutely should be applying skincare products on a wet face! This does a couple things. Firstly, it locks in moisture and prevents TEWL (or Trans Epidermal Water Loss). This is the process in which we lose moisture across our skin. Moisture is so important to healthy skin. It also helps your products better penetrate the skin. When your skin is wet it is more permeable (aka it allows liquids to pass through it more easily). This is a tip I love to use with hyaluronic acid. It helps drive the water into the skin to create hydration. So who else is going to join the “quickly running to my vanity from my sink so my face is still wet” club with me? 🙋🏻♀️

I am loving Peach and Lily!
I recently bought these items from ulta and I am loving the way they are making my skin feels! I have combination oily skin and these work wonders! PEACH & LILY - Power Calm Hydrating Gel Cleanser this cleanser is so gentle but effective! It leaves my skin feeling so soft, not tight, hydrated but not greasy! PEACH & LILY - The Good Acids Pore Toner I was always skeptical of toners because I didn’t want to dry my skin out! This toner however is great! My skin doesn’t feel tight or sticky like other toners I’ve used! PEACH & LILY - Glass Skin Refining Serum so far this serum has been amazing! It’s made my skin feel amazing and doesn’t feel sticky like other serums from the ordinary or the inkey list have made my skin feel! The packaging is beautiful! PEACH & LILY - Glass Skin Water Gel Moisturizer I wasn’t sure about this moisturizer because of my oily skin but it actually works for me! I bought one where the pump wasn’t working properly but I exchanged it at ulta! Very light weight but moisturizing! All these products are simply amazing! The packaging on all the products are beautiful and very impressive! I’m so impressed with Peach and Lily and I look forward to trying more products of theirs in the future!!💕💕

Help Me, Cherie-Wan Kenobi. You are my only hope
I have a problem. That problem is sunscreen. I have tried about 20-30 sunscreens in my life and they all broke me out until I found glossier. The problem is that, as a queer person, I can’t support a company that does hatm to my trans family nor my Black and Brown family in spirit. I need help. I need a new sunscreen The sunscreen can be up to 40 dollars. It can’t contain: dimethicone nor animal ingredients nor actives. Can anyone help me? Thank you 🙏🏻
My power lip colour! | 🌹💪🏻💋
I’ve seen a few of you beauties (shout out @madihomewoodand @Mallory♥️) posting about your power lip colours, and here I am to share mine! These are colours that make you feel powerful, beautiful, and like your best self, ready to take on the world. I’ve always been a fan of a red lip - I got super interested in pin-up and burlesque culture at a young age, so it was only natural that this classic colour became my favourite to wear. I’ve experimented with every formula under the sun and found what works best for which situation, as well as discovering just how many shades of red are out there. It’s crazy what a difference just a slight undertone can make! I don’t necessarily have one top favourite product when it comes to a red lip, but here are a few that I find myself reaching for most often: ✨ Nars Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in “Cruella” - This is a neutral toned, medium-dark red. It has a matte finish and almost acts as a stain even when you’ve taken it off. $35CAD. ✨ MAC Matte Lipstick in “Russian Red” - A cult classic! With blue undertones and a matte finish, this red will flatter nearly everyone. $24CAD. ✨ KVD Vegan Beauty Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in “Outlaw,” “Nahz Fur Atoo,” and “Project Chimps (discontinued)” - All of these reds are slightly different, ranging from almost brick/deep terracotta, to a warm medium-dark, to a bright, blue-red. They have a matte finish and will stay. all. day. without a doubt! $28CAD. I love all of these products so much, but am always searching for another to add to my (probably too big…lol) collection of reds. 💸 I’d love to see you guys share what lip colour makes you feel good! Despite wearing masks and not focussing on them as much anymore, I think the power of a good lip colour is unmatched in the makeup world. 💄
Tis The Season for Healthy Hair 💇🏽♀️
I love this time of the year because this is when brands start to release their holiday sets, so you can imagine my excitement when Amika gifted me their Brooklyn Hustle bestsellers starter kit! I am no stranger to Amika hair products - they are one of my top favorite hair care brands. The name of this set, Brooklyn Hustle, is so fitting because all three products are perfect for sprucing up your hair in a pinch! 🧡 Included in this set: 🌟 𝒫𝑒𝓇𝓀 𝒰𝓅 𝒟𝓇𝓎 𝒮𝒽𝒶𝓂𝓅𝑜𝑜 - This is one of, if not Amika’s number one bestselling product! Believe it or not, I never even tried dry shampoo before until about a year ago (shocking, I know) - and I have relatively dark hair, so I am generally weary about dry shampoos leaving a white cast, but not with Perk Up! Perk Up effectively refreshes my hair, leaving no white cast or residue behind, doesn’t gunk up on my scalp & smells amazing! 💜 𝒮𝑜𝓊𝓁𝒻𝑜𝑜𝒹 𝒩𝑜𝓊𝓇𝒾𝓈𝒽𝒾𝓃𝑔 𝑀𝒶𝓈𝓀 - This rich hair mask helps restore your hair to provide nourishment to keep it soft, hydrated & healthy looking! Leave in for just 5-7 minutes & rinse; great hair mask that could be used daily or weekly. I personally use it on a weekly basis & leave in while I shave. 🧡 𝒮𝓊𝓅𝑒𝓇𝓃𝑜𝓋𝒶 𝑀𝑜𝒾𝓈𝓉𝓊𝓇𝑒 + 𝒮𝒽𝒾𝓃𝑒 𝒞𝓇𝑒𝒶𝓂 - This is my personal favorite from the set, and one of my top favorite products from Amika in general. As someone with naturally curly & frizzy hair, and sometimes drying (especially this time of year), this is a GO TO for me! This not only calms down the frizziness of my hair, but also gives my hair a healthy, shinier appearance (never greasy looking). Best quality? This leave in cream doesn’t weigh down my hair or leave my hair feeling crunchy! 🧡 Available now at Sephora and loveamika.com for $28! 💜 amika: - Brooklyn Hustle Haircare Bestsellers Starter Set

Loving this chemical peel!
Am I the only one who went out and bought this because of Tik Tok? I sure hope not🤦🏼♀️ - The Ordinary’s AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution is a great chemical exfoliant if you’re looking for something deep exfoliating on a budget! The AHA’s work on that topmost layer of skin for a smoother & brighter look and the BHA’s help with pore congestion. So this mask pretty much does it all. You’re only supposed to use it at most twice a week and be sure to not leave it on for over ten minutes. Thats how much power this mask has! - At first I wasn’t too sure about it (and yes it does burn at first) but after I tried it for the second time I noticed how much smoother and brighter my complexion already was. For being such a good price I was shocked! It also has helped a lot with a few small scars I had on my face. Definitely wouldn’t use on sensitive skin.
