Olaplex saved my type 4 hair!
Olaplex saved my type 4 hair!
Both photos are Day 3 Wash & Go’s Hey guys! So I just wanted to share a quick tip on how I keep my colour treated hair healthy! I’m sure you’ve probably heard of Olaplex before and the wonders it does for hair... well I’m here to say that I definitely reaped the benefits. Although the price point is pretty steep ( $40 CAD for 3oz) I do feel like is saved my hair from excessive breakage. How I used it: EDEN Body Works - Coconut Shea Cleansing Cowash I co washed my hair to get rid of any product buildup so the Olaplex could penetrate my hair cuticle better. I love this co wash because it cleanses my scalp well without stripping it of its moisture. OLAPLEX - No. 3 Hair Perfector I towel dried my hair (with a cotton shirt) and added the Olaplex in, this product feels a lot like a conditioner; it has amazing slip and was very easy to distribute through my hair. I then proceeded to cover my hair with a plastic cap and slept with it in overnight. The instructions say the longer you keep it in the better. tgin - Miracle RepaiRx Deep Hydrating Hair Mask I washed out the Olaplex in the morning using the same co wash as before then deep conditioned with a moisturizing hair mask. <<I can’t stress this enough when I say Olaplex No. 3 IS NOT A CONDITIONING TREATMENT.>> So it’s important that you still continue with your regular wash day routine after you rinse it out, preferably a moisturizing treatment than a protein treatment. tgin - Miracle RepaiRx Protective Leave In Conditioner tgin - Miracle RepaiRx Curl Food tgin - Miracle Repairx Anti-Breakage Serum I did the LCO Method in the order above to seal in moisture and my curls are not back and better than ever! Thanks for tuning in!

BREAD™ Hair-Oil Everyday Gloss $24/3.3 oz 🍞BREAD™ BEAUTY SUPPLY is a black owned business founded in Australia by Maeva Heim. Her straightforward line of key products for curly & textured hair types launched at Sephora a couple months ago. Formulated with simple & natural ingredients, Bread Beauty’s philosophy about “carefree” hair also had my interest. In a recent Allure article, Maeva Heim discussed her relationship with “frizz” & why it shouldn’t be a dirty word... “Women with curly or textured hair haven’t really been included in conversations around 'effortless' hair. I think there's this rhetoric that textured or curly hair is hard, time-consuming to look after & requires lots of product & manipulation... But I want our audience to feel like she can embrace lazy girl hair, too — & that goes for all curl types & textures. What that looks like & what that means will look different across the curl type range, but I want all textures to be able to embrace this carefree ideal if they want to." BREAD - Hair Oil Everyday Gloss I love trying new hair oils! I’ll start by saying I don’t actually have a curly hair type, but this oil is well suited for dry hair like mine. With very very thick boring waves (hair type 2B) hair oils are my favorite hair product to instantly give my waves some definition & look put together. I used to use MoroccanOil a lot, but I think I like this better. It’s thinner, as you can see in the photo it ran down my arm before I could grab my phone, but even with the simple bottle design I didn’t have any mess issues. It made my hair so soft!! My hair has always been dry, but moving from sea level to 3000 ft elevation this year made my hair even dryer. I put this oil on partially dry hair after a long headache shower where I didn’t wash my hair but it got wet. That usually wrecks my hair, but this totally brought it back to life! It looked healthy & nourished, definitely not weighed down or greasy at all. Though marketed as lipgloss for hair, I didn’t feel it was overly shiny in any way. I love that it has only 8 ingredients. Some of my favorite moisturizing oils are in here like argan & sweet almond. The only ingredient you may not recognize outright is Capryl Capric Triglycerides; a compound of coconut oil & glycerin, which is valued as a more natural alternative to other synthetic chemicals. Full ingredients are in the slides. Fragrance: I feel like I have some dorky story to go with every scent I’m trying to describe.. but here we go again, it smells specifically like “Bubble Tape” bubble gum! 💗If you know that bubble gum in the circular container... imagine a more mature fainter & more natural version. I adore that smell, I used to save the containers as a kid lol. I love this product! I think it’s a great deal at $24 for 3.3 oz. The box is this gorgeous shade of mint green, the bottle would read more chic if my sticker weren’t crooked, but it’s not a huge deal considering the price point.

Ultimate Bleached Natural 4C Moisture Combo!
Ultimate Bleached Natural 4C Moisture Combo!
The natural state of 4c hair lends it being dry and rough. For me, this is even worse because of my bleached and colored hair. To combat thisI have found an excellent combination of products and ingredients that have definitely been helping with my dryness and the straw-like feeling it sometimes gets. I use a slightly modified version of the LCO or Liquid-Oil-Cream method for moisturizing hair. Here are my three products I use in order for my dry, 4c hair that have truly saved my hair! Infusium Pro 23 Moisturizing Leave-in Treatment This is a moisturizing and strengthening leave-in conditioner that I use immediately following my deep conditioner. This is a very liquidy consistency so it is best to probably use in a spray bottle. Organic Root Stimulator Carrot Oil I love this water-based moisturizer! It is perfect for my hair and actually gets absorbed into my hair instead of just sitting on my strands. Water-based moisturizers are perfect to use in the process of moisturizing your hair as the foundation. Shea Butter My fave, shea butter! I apply a generous amount of shea butter after my Carrot Oil to help lock in those two moisturizers I used previously. Homemade Oil Mixture My homemade oil mix is filled with castor oil, olive oil, and yes, even more shea butter. I love this heavy ultra sealing mixture so much! Once all of the products are applied to my hair the result is soft hair with defined, moisturized curls. Tell me your natural hair regimen or any product suggestions you have!
