How to choose tinted moisturizer for your skin? ULTIMATE Guide!
Surely you have heard of tinted moisturizers, as they have been a revolution in the cosmetics market in recent years and have been popularized by many celebrities by the hand of great stylists and makeup artists. Color moisturizers arise from the need to combine in a single product the ability to moisturize and protect of a cream and the aesthetic possibility of giving a touch of color and correcting that makeup provides. Since its inception, there have been many different types of tinted moisturizers that have appeared on the market, but they all have a common purpose: the protection of the skin and bring beauty to the face. That said, when choosing a tinted moisturizer we must focus our attention mainly on the benefits it will bring to our skin. Hydration capacity Generally speaking, facial moisturizers are created with formulas that integrate different active ingredients that serve mainly three purposes: moisturize, nourish, and protect the dermis. In addition, depending on specific uses, they may be enriched with other ingredients or elements that provide them with additional properties that vary depending on the type of skin on which it is to be applied. This is going to be a determining factor when selecting one product or another, because depending on whether we have dry, sensitive skin or oily skin, the type of color moisturizer we will choose will have to meet the needs of that type of skin. Protection factor According to numerous dermatologists, the best antiaging is photoprotective, especially if it is for daily use. This is because one of the main factors of skin aging is ultraviolet rays (UV), as they are able to damage the elastin and collagen of the dermis, which favors the appearance of wrinkles, in addition to being able to cause the appearance of spots and other lesions. Color and luminosity If we are talking about the benefits of a tinted moisturizer, precisely color is an important part, one of the reasons for being of the moisturizer with color, was to adopt at the same time the characteristics of a moisturizer and provide the color and corrective capacity of makeup. Skin tone is a point to keep in mind when choosing our cream. Ideally, the cream tone is identical to the tone of our skin, so it is advisable to do tests to check it. The cheek area is the most appropriate area to do this type of test. Within the different types of color moisturizer that exist, we can meet BB Cream or CC Cream depending on their corrective capacity and other properties. The second photo is the difference between a bb cream and a foundation: As you can see, the bb cream, which is a sort of tinted moisturizer is far more natural than the foundation. I personally use the NYX bb cream. “bare with me”. I have dry skin and this is perfect for me. With this tinted moisturizer, this is the finished result that I get: a very lightweight yet radiant look that covers my imperfections.

Updated Foundation Collection 🌟
Yes I have a problem lol I just love trying new face formulas. My favorite here is still the Touch In Sol Advanced Real Moisture Foundation in shade 21. It’s the most skin-like of all of them so far and has great durability. It’s also one of the cheaper ones at only $18 on amazon 😀 I do like the way the ILIA serum lays down, but my god does it have a strong paint smell 😑 once it goes away it’s fine, but the first few minutes are rather rough as I’m sensitive to bad smells. Ah, the things we do for beauty 🤷♀️ Happy Sunday! 🍁 Don’t forget to hydrate and check your WiFi 😘
Mix them up! Get a better foundation
I'm very picky to the foundation because I have dry skin. The hydrating, coverage, texture, finish of a foundation is all very important. I got Kevyn Aucoin Etherealist Foundation in Sephora. When I try it store, I like its nice coverage, lightweight texture and fragrance-free. While after few times try on my skin, I found it somewhat dry out my skin. So, I put it away. To get a flawless foundation makeup, I know it’s very important to put on a primer. I got Armani Maestro UV primer, which is one of Armani Beauty's best sellers. It has broad-spectrum SPF 50 that is really amazing, as a primer, I like it. It uses antioxidants fillers to mimic the behavior of collagen. The texture of it is oil-ish and a bit oily. It can soak into the skin well, but I will need to very careful of the amount. Or, my skin will get really greasy. Then, it occurs to me that why not mix them together. The thing is the mixture does do a great job. The mixed foundation becomes very easy to blend and definitely buildable. It is really lightweight and fluid, which provides my skin great moisturizing, and makes my skin looks glowy without oily looking. It won't be cakey even if I wear makeup over 8 hours. Mixed with oily texture primers will not affect its coverage. It could still cover my blemishes. Before I give a try, I cannot imagine how well could two beauty products mix together. Kevyn Aucoin foundation costs me $58, and Armani primer is $64, which are really pricy! This amazing try totally save my money!

My first ever “balm” foundation 🖤
I’ve used liquid, powder, and stick foundations but never a balm before. Kevyn Aucoin Beauty gifted me their foundation balm. This unique foundation retails for $52 for .07 oz. It comes in 20 shades which I personally find really lacking. I really like the slim packaging as it’s really easy to store in my collection and it does come with its own buffing brush. I’m personally a sponge kind of person so I use a sponge to apply this to my face. I was shocked at how lightweight and natural it looks when applied. I was expecting it to feel really heavy because it is a balm but it feels and looks like skin. It’s full coverage but I still have a few spots that peek through (which is expected and happens for me with any foundation). I just take a little bit more on my sponge and I can easily build up in areas I need without it looking cakey. I personally think this foundation looks better without setting it with a powder. That being said with or without a powder this does transfer on me. If anything slightly touches my face it does rub off. I personally have oily skin and it does break apart the tiniest bit on me because it doesn’t “dry down” like other foundations I own but that’s also to be expected with the formula. I think this would be a fabulous winter foundation or a really amazing option for someone with more dry skin. It does have hyaluronic acid and avocado oil so if you need a foundation that has a little bit more to it for hydration this would be it. I have the shade Light 02 and I find it matches me pretty well and I don’t notice any oxidizing. All in all this isn’t my absolute favorite foundation but I do like it under certain conditions. I do think it’s over priced and I don’t like the fact you don’t get a full fluid ounce but if it’s something you’ve been interested in I think it’s definitely worth a try.

🌸New Drugstore Makeup🌸
I saw many mixed reviews about the new cover girl clean skin milk foundation so I decided to try it out. I love the finish, feel and coverage of the foundation, however, it clings to ANY dry skin like crazy!! I recommend to use a physical exfoliate before using this foundation just to make sure there is no dry patches. Also as always make sure to let your primer sit for a few minutes before applying because that can also make it pill up or emphasize more texture! This concealer is AMAZING!!! I don’t usually wear concealer unless I’m using it as a base for eyeshadow, but this one is my new holy grail! It sits amazing on the skin and on the eyes, I have very oily eyelids even with powders to set it it still creases but I wore eyeshadow with this as a base and it lasted 8hours!!! Try it out! The maybelline cheek heat is not worth it! I bought it hoping it might be a dupe to my holy grail cloud paint but no! It has no pigment whatsoever but the texture Is very unique and cooling! If you want to try it I recommend the darker shades, they should be more pigmented but cloud paint will always be better!

NARS Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer (SPF 30)
Would you consider a tinted face moisturiser an actual moisturiser? ;-) At least for this product, I would think that it is. The NARS Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer Broad Spectrum SPF 30 feels more like a lightweight moisturiser than a foundation. This product is targeted for people who want that extra layer of hydration while at the same time an evened out complexion. Tinted moisturisers are mainly for people who have drier skin because you will need all the hydration you can get; oilier skin types wouldn’t benefit as much from this in my opinion. I would think that this product has an exceptionally runny consistency that works in its favour. Usually I don’t like moisturisers to be so runny because I want a little more weight in the product, but having it as more of a liquid than a gel helps blend it into my skin a lot easier. It also has a sheer coverage, so it isn’t going to conceal any zits or pigmentation - it’s just to even out your complexion whilst being moisturising at the same time. I’ve used this for a year now and I have to say that I have some mixed thoughts. While I appreciate the extra moisture my skin needs during its drier days, and the dewy finish is also very nice, I don’t necessarily like how much work I have to put in to blend it in. It often applies quite patchily for me (after using it for awhile) and not as smoothly as other tinted moisturisers in the market. For me, this product attempts to be a 2-in-1 where you can skip the sunscreen and moisturiser and just go straight to your base because this technically covers these steps. However, I much prefer to apply a moisturiser and sunscreen before applying a proper foundation on. I find that this results in a smoother and more even complexion instead of the NARS Tinted Moisturiser. Plus, I also feel that this method moisturises my skin much much more than if I were to just use the NARS tinted moisturiser. While I would recommend this to my friends who are in the market for tinted moisturisers because it does fulfil its purpose of hydrating the skin while evening out your complexion, I don’t necessarily think this product is worth its 45 USD price tag. This is especially so after Colourpop came up with their own tinted moisturiser that I am in love with. Even though the Colourpop one doesn’t have SPF, for 14 USD, you can easily get another affordable sunscreen with the remaining money you save from buying the latter. Feeling fancy~ With my gold theme over here today. I really just want to talk about how much I love bare minerals complexion rescue tinted hydrating gel cream. This is the only thing I own as far as foundations and I only wear it on special occasions but it is AMAZING. The perfect amount of light weight coverage, so hydrating, and the added bonus of SPF 30. What’s your favorite tinted moisturizer?
