Textured Skin?? 3 Tried & Tested Products!
Up until I really started understanding🤔my skin and how certain ingredients work... I always had textured skin due to acne, blemishes and lack of regular exfoliation. Well here’s my experiences from lessons learnt throughout the years for all those people who are on the same boat as I once was.. I’ve learnt the key🔑to smoother skin is knowing the underlying issue and the reason behind your skin’s uneven texture and incorporating exfoliants in a regulated skincare routine. When treating the uneven skin texture, you need to ask yourself whether or not you are using exfoliants (both physical and chemical)? If your answer is NO, then you have bumpy skin and you need to start incorporating an exfoliant into your skincare routine. Lactic acid is a good place to start as it suits all skin types. However, what really works for my skin type (oily/combination) is Salicylic acid. Be sure to start with an exfoliant by using once or twice a week and only take it up to using it 3 times a week. No more than this please ☺️ If your answer is YES, then ask yourself: “How many times am I using the exfoliants and how strong are they?” If you’re using exfoliants more than 2 to 3 times a week and you still have bumpy/textured skin then there’s a high chance your skin’s barrier is not happy. Work on repairing and strengthening your skin barrier by using products geared towards providing hydration💦and moisturization. Periodically, exfoliating definitely will help improve your skin texture! Here are some of My Tried & Tested Products for bump-free skin: 1. GOOD MOLECULES - Pineapple Exfoliating Powder
ZITSTICKA - Killa Kit I got this in a pinch once, I was bit impressed PEACE OUT - Acne Healing Dots is 10000%% worth it’s high price. Makes a big difference in healing and tackling painful break outs feel - Harmony Rose Petal Facial Mask dermalogica - Hydro Masque Exfoliant Both of these masks I have tried to use to get rid of some intense body acne both were good but I’m still in search of something better
Exfoliate and hydrate
Dermalogica gifted me their Hydro Mask Exfoliant. A mask that both exfoliates and hydrates within 3-5 minutes. It contains touch activated bamboo spheres to exfoliate and snow mushroom & phyto lipids to hydrate. I love applying this when I hop in the shower and leaving it on for 5 minutes before rinsing it off. My skin feels bouncy, smooth and hydrated after each use. This is a great addition to my morning skincare routine as we are experiencing very hot weather during the day and colder weather overnight. I use it twice a week to keep my skin feeling balanced.

PETER THOMAS ROTH Peptide 21™ Amino Acid Exfoliating Peel Pads. My thoughts on this product- Used this three times a week at night (since I got it) It has a blend of 20% Exfoliating Complex (Phytic Acid, Salicylic Acid and Sodium Lactate) and I didn't want to over exfoliate. I just needed one pad to cover my entire face and neck without the pad actually drying. It is thin but very saturated, with no dripping. I left it on skin for 3-4 minutes as suggested and then rinsed off. I did feel a mild tingling sensation, but it didn't itch or made my skin turn raw and red. This was easiest to review because the results are visible. The peels brightens the skin instantly. The best thing about using exfoliating products is the instant gratification of seeing some change on the skin, if it is positive obviously. No one wants to see redness and rash. These peels did not dry the skin and left them visibly brighten and even toned. Over the course of my usage I noticed visible improvement in the texture of my skin. As far as pores are concerned, I am lucky to not have very visible pores to begin with. So it is difficult to notice any difference in that area. I will continue using these.
I want to share my thoughts of this amazing line with you all! 💙💙THE AMAZING PEPTIDE21💙💙 The Peptide 21 Amino Acid Exfoliating Peel Pads are packed with Peptide-building Amino Acids to help reduce the look of pores, uneven skin tone, texture, fine lines and wrinkles by exfoliating skin for a natural glow and preparing it for treatment products. This stuff is bringing my skin to life!!! My skin has such a healthy glow. I absolutely love how wet the pads are. I find that some companies skimp on the product and the pads are somewhat dry. I find myself needing 2 in order to cover my whole face. That is not the case with these! The pads are soaked in product. One pad covers my face, neck, chest and hands. These are now a staple in my AM and PM routine. I can't live without them. The Peptide 21 Wrinkle Resist Serum is packed with a 73% Peptide Complex at clinically-tested levels to target every area of the face and neck, delivering 360 results and helping to dramatically reduce the look of fine lines and wrinkles. Plus, 2 Gamma Proteins harness the power of Asian natto gum, a breakthrough ingredient that helps improve the look of skin elasticity, radiance, uneven skin tone and texture. This stuff is a dream come true!!!! I hate when my skin fights me and shows texture. This dream serum helps smooth my texture! It literally leaves my skin looking and feeling so smooth!!! I highly recommend this if you are someone who struggles with texture and fine lines. I hate my fine lines and this is definitely helping them seem less prominent. The Peptide 21 Lift & Firm Moisturizer is Packed with 21 Peptides and Neuropeptides and 2 Gamma Proteins. It delivers intense hydration and leaves skin feeling bouncy, firm, lifted and younger-looking. My skin is thanking me! I suffer from dry skin during the cold months and this moisturizer keeps my skin hydrated, soft and plump! I literally feel like I have baby skin! The texture is perfect! It is not thick but not thin.

Super What? Let’s Talk About Superfoods for Skin
“Superfoods” aren’t just for eating. They can have benefits for your skin, too. Generally speaking, superfoods in skincare are items that provide a healthy dose of antioxidants, are nutrient-dense, provide hydration, & fight environmental irritants. Common superfoods included in skincare are berries, healthy fats (like avocado & olive oil), honey, green tea, greens (like kale), and fruits (like papaya & pomegranate). I personally love the superfood trend - there’s nothing I dislike! My super dry skin loves the added moisture & nourishment. Here are some items in my collection that feature superfoods: YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Superfood Antioxidant Cleanser This cleanser contains kale, spinach, green tea. The greens contain vitamins C, E, & K, and green tea to help fight signs of aging. This cleanser lathers minimally and easily cleanses my face of any leftover makeup/SPF residue without leaving my dry skin feeling stripped. It does smell like greens, but the smell doesn’t stick around post-wash. I’ve finished a 2oz mini before and purchased a set from YTTP that contained another 2oz. I like it and would repurchase a full size. $36 8oz, $10 2oz FARMACY - Honeymoon Glow Serum This AHA/BHA/flower exfoliating serum is awesome for dry skin thanks to honey. Honey has antioxidant properties and is also a humectant. This PM serum gently exfoliates, moisturizes, improves hyperpigmentation, & can improve texture & fine lines over time. I don’t use this often because I tend to have stubborn dry patches and irritation that make using chemical exfoliation unwise, but generally will use 1-2x every 2 weeks. Other skin types can use this more frequently. Mine’s almost empty and I will repurchase. $58 GOOD MOLECULES - Pineapple Exfoliating Powder This powder exfoliant contains pineapple, which is known for its fruit exfoliating (chemical) and vitamin C properties, and rice powder (physical exfoliant). It claims to reveal brighter, fresher skin post-use. You simply dispense some powder, add water, mix, and apply to your face. More water = more lather & less exfoliation. Love that it is customizable like that. It does smell kind of weird, like wet paper. I do feel that my skin looks brighter after use. Would repurchase. $16 cocokind - Watermelon Hemp Oil This contains watermelon (antioxidant, linoleic acid) and hemp (fatty acids) to nourish, hydrate, & reduce moisture loss. It’s a multipurpose, relatively lightweight, herbaceous-smelling oil that can use used for hair, skin, & body. I use it on my face in the PM 1-2x/wk and occasionally add a drop or 2 to unscented hand lotion when my hands are feeling dry. This does contain rosemary, orange peel, and eucalyptus extracts, so if you don’t like/can’t tolerate those I would avoid this. Mine was sent as PR by the brand, but I have purchased other things from them. Would repurchase. $14 #CheriePartner
PR cleanser roundup! ✨
PR cleanser reviews! ✨ I wanted to start doing more in depth reviews of skincare, especially skincare that was gifted to me. A lot of times when I post it’s about enough time for a decent first impression but I truly think it takes a lot of time with a product to form my full opinion. Anyways, I just want to be transparent with my reviews. It’s sort of an ode to Jessica Braun’s speed reviews if you watch her. goodhabit - Clean Scene Micellar Gel : been using this one as a first cleanse because I’m out of all my balms/oils. It works well to take off makeup in conjunction with my makeup eraser. It says no need to rinse but I definitely don’t think my skin would feel clean if I didn’t rinse and cleanse this off. The only downfall is I don’t love the smell. It’s somewhat fake/plastic-y smelling? But I still enjoy it! GOOD MOLECULES - Pineapple Exfoliating Powder : I love this so much! I use this 2-3x per week when I want very gentle physical exfoliation. It leaves my skin soft and hydrated but it also feels clean. 100% recommend. GHOST DEMOCRACY - Transparent Gentle Exfoliating Daily Cleanser : I really enjoy this one. I also only use this one occasionally bc it definitely has that burning exfoliating sensation when you use it (it contains 4.1% glycolic acid). But my skin feels clean and not stripped with this. Love that it’s fragrance free. Only complaint is the packaging, if pours out without squeezing when you open it. It needs a better stopper! GOOD MOLECULES - Clarify & Cleanse Bar : this was a no for me. The cleansing bar was messy, it didn’t remove makeup and it stripped my skin. It also left my skin with that waxy film feeling. KITAO - Matcha + Chia Cleansing Cream : I really enjoy this. It’s gentle and a nice everyday cleanser! It’s not great at taking off makeup so this is always a second cleanse. I don’t LOVE the scent of this but I believe it’s fragrance free so it’s just the natural scent of the ingredients so I can definitely get past it! *all products gifted to me but opinions are my own
Today I am talking about the vitamin C clay mask called Bright On. This is an absolute staple in my skincare. I love how it brightens and detoxifies in one simple step! When I am getting breakouts, I bring this out and it not only helps clear them up faster but it also lessens the appearance of scarring. I love to use it as a spot treatment as well. _______ All about Bright On - You can see it working! Bright On changes color as it transforms the appearance of your skin. As you massage it into your skin, vitamin C capsules burst, turning from lavender to green, and releasing powerful brightening and clarifying benefits for instant results. Skin-perfecting multitasker. This dual-action formula helps detox and brighten without drying or breaking you out. It’s suitable for all skin types and will never strip. Fruit-derived AHAs gently resurface skin, creating a virtually poreless finish and leaving skin feeling smoother and softer. Naturally detoxes. Mineral-rich (and food-grade!) kaolin and bentonite clay help remove excess oil and impurities and visibly reduce the appearance of power. Refreshes + cools. Aloe and a special blend of superfoods help cool, soothe and moisturize skin. $38 - 1.7 fl oz _________ This is a mask I highly recommend you give a try if you haven’t. Start with a sample if you can. I think it’s sure to win you over 😁

MEDIKATE. This line is (burst my heart) Esthetician made, by Katelyn Rousselle, who is also the owner of The Skin Room out of Alberta Canada. Medikate is free of perfumes, synthetic fragrances, sulfates, phthalates, parabens + created in animal cruelty free labs. The sweetest girls stand behind this line + have been nothing but supportive with my path so far! It’s been lovely having the ability to be connected to like-minded Esties through this platform! I’ve been incorporating a few products, into my regimen, from this line over the last 6 weeks + can honestly attest to the affectivity of each individually. The REFINE Exfoliating Gel is a mixture of glycolic, lactic, + pyruvic acids. It is a beautiful chemical exfoliant that works to smooth texture, brighten tone, + lighten pigmentation. I appreciate the addition of pyruvic acid, as my main focus this year is focusing on pre-mature aging + hyperpigmentation! The DETOX Mask is my favorite of the line! I use it once a week for purification of clogged pores + toxin build up. It’s a clay-based mask containing deep sea glacial + earth minerals sourced + completely made in Canada. REFRESH is an organic, minty face wash that I use for my first cleanse. I love that it’s a deep clean, but gentle enough without stripping away the healthy natural oils of my skin. Lastly, is GLOW, a nourishing skin oil that provides necessary nutrients + antioxidants. I love this for both my AM + PM regimen! medikate - Glow Serum #cheriecreator

How I’ve improved my acne scars and pigmentation!! I’ve had this skincare ritual for a few weeks now and I’m OBSESSED. My skin is slowly but surely clearing up! On another note, when I use this Hana Cure mask I’m always laughing because it stretches your face out like a bad facelift lol. Tip: use paper towels instead of towels if you get frequent breakouts, it helps reduce bacteria being placed back into your skin. I always try sample sizes or buy minis of everythinf I’m interested in trying. Its a great way to help me decide what is worth purchasing a full size of. Worth it: Honeymoon glow is a lovely exfoliating serum , I especially think its great for sensitive skin as I did. It feel any tingling at all when using this. It also has a creamy texture which is unique in an AHA serum, so I did like that. Prism mask is literally life changing, it has been amazing as smoothing my skin, unclogging my pores and making me glow. This will definitely become a staple in my routine. Fresh Youth Preserve Repair mask. Worked so well for me on a day I was dehydrated, red and reactive. Will definitely purchase a full size to have as a backup for days I over exfoliate or underhydrate. Honey Potion. Super innovative product in my opinion, I love a good antioxidant mask and I’m loving honey masks. I love the texture of it and how it emulsifies when you rub it in. Very unique and will purchase at some point. Not for me: Blue Tansy by Herbivore is great, but I think its great for people who regularly break out, which I dont. I dont think itll be that beneficial for me and id take way too long to use it up. Vichy Mineral Mask. Nice hydration but I have other hydrating masks I prefer. This is not the one.

Better Pick: Physical or Chemical Exfoliation?
If you want to get rid of dullness and reveal your radiant, glowing skin, your best bet would be to exfoliate. But the thing is, there are two kinds of exfoliation, physical and chemical. Is there a difference in the effects? Which one should you try? Having tried both, I can say these two things with certainty: - There’s a big difference between the effects that I saw after doing both. - There is such a thing as too much exfoliation. Let’s talk about physical exfoliation first. Physical exfoliation refers to exfoliating your skin using products like scrubs and facial tools. With physical exfoliation, you’re literally stripping away the top layer of your skin that contains all the dead cells. Doing so reveals your fresh skin underneath. My first foray into exfoliation was me making use of physical exfoliators. In fact, when I was still in college, my favorite scrub was SKINFOOD - Black Sugar Strawberry Mask Wash Off It contained granules that would gently scrape my dead skin cells, making my skin feel soft and smooth afterward. Plus, the 100 ml tub which cost around $12 was big enough to last for the whole year already. Everything changed when I found out about chemical exfoliation. As its name suggests, the acids in chemical exfoliation help remove the outer layer of the skin. This means that if you do it right, there’s little to no physical damage that could possibly be done to your skin, unlike physical exfoliation. These days, I’m all for chemical exfoliation. Aside from my regular The Ordinary - Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution I also have another AHA essence COSRX - AHA 7 Whitehead Power Liquid Both TO’s Glycolic Acid Toner and COSRX’s AHA 7 Liquid costs $18 each for a 240ml bottle and a 100ml bottle respectively. I also use an over-the-counter 30% Glycolic Acid solution twice a month. Their effects may not be as instant as physical exfoliation, but I noticed that they’re more long-term. Back when I was still using a physical exfoliator, my skin would only look good for a few days after exfoliating, but with chemical exfoliators, my skin just looks better and better as time goes by. Remember, too much exfoliation isn’t good, and it can lead to breakouts, redness, and increased sensitivity. Whether you choose chemical or physical exfoliation, always keep in mind that you shouldn’t do it more than a few times per week!

FACE SOS❗Can't believe that they saved my skin😭👍
My oily skin, blackheads, and enlarged pores have been bothering me since I was in school. Luckily, I found these two masks by REN. I've used a lot of fruit acid skincare products but I've never come across ones as gentle and as effective as these. They have a very gentle fruit acid ingredient which provides deep cleansing and at the same time removes blackheads, minimizes the appearance of pores, smoothens skin, and brightens skin complexion. They're ideal for your weekly skincare routine. I'll introduce each of them in more detail below. REN CLEAN SKINCARE - Flash Rinse 1 Minute Facial You can really wash it off after one minute! I always have important meetings and clients to attend to, so I'll use this facial mask and massage it onto my face for half a minute when I have no time for my skincare routine in the morning. It gives you smoother skin and keeps your makeup lasting longer. The product itself is green and contains tiny vitamin granules. It's super great as an SOS face mask as you need just a minute for skincare before a date. I highly recommend it! REN CLEAN SKINCARE - Glycol Lactic Radiance Renewal Maskhas to stay on our face for 15 minutes to achieve better and more gentle cleansing. I have fragile skin and fruit acid products often cause peeling and irritation. However, REN products are different as they don't give you a feeling of over-cleansing. You must take note to wear sunscreen and keep your skin hydrated after using a fruit acid product. If you have the same concern as me, hope this review can help you. BTW can you recommend other similar face masks to me?😍
