HERITAGE STORE - Rosewater Spray
I found this on the Ulta app while I was looking for another brand they no longer carry. I am glad I tried it and it's a solid fave now! It's very refreshing and I looove the fragrance (it's a subtle rose and not too strong). VitaminSea.beauty - Sea Kale Green Tea Alcohol Free Facial Toner Mist
This was the brand I was originally looking for that Ulta stopped selling 😒. I love this fragrance too as well as the benefits it provides my skin. I am a big fan of using facial sprays all day long! Whether it be to start my day; I like to mist before I moisturize and put on sunscreen, set my make-up, and as a refresher throughout the day. I have quite a few other brands/mists in rotation but these are my current faves!

another two bite the dust ✌🏻
Two more empties: HERITAGE STORE - Rosewater Spray I’ve already reviewed this toner on my previous post. I like the sprayer aspect but the formula is just meh. Nothing to write home about. I’ll keep the spray bottle to reuse again but probably won’t repurchase this toner in the near future. DHC - Deep Cleansing Oil The smell was a little weird at first, think olive oil, but overall the consistency and the way it felt being massaged into my skin won me over. I loved this product but will not be repurchasing due to the backlash the brand is receiving due to racist comments made by the brand’s creator. As consumers, we are powerful. We have the power to perpetuate wealth for creators. We vote with our wallets. I will not continue to support or buy a brand that has questionable ethics. I have instead chosen to purchase THE inkey LIST - Oat Cleansing Balm as it’s replacement! Have you tried these products? What do you think? Do ethics play in to which brands you purchase from? Let me know ☺️

January empties !!!
Let’s start with those that I most likely would NOT repurchase: ACURE - Seriously Soothing Cleansing Cream the aspect I liked least was the smell. I just couldn’t get over it! For that reason alone, I would not repurchase. HERITAGE STORE - Rosewater Spray nothing particularly exciting about this toner. I have some other toners I’ve had my eye on so I’m going to move onto something new next! Next let’s talk about what I would repurchase: CeraVe - Resurfacing Retinol Serum very gentle retinol serum, great brand, what more can I say? COSRX - Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence this had me glowing at first! But I feel that the improvements I initially saw faded after awhile and I haven’t noticed the same results since. I do like using this as another layer of moisture in the cooler months. Finally, let’s talk about what I’ve already repurchased: The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% this serum is fantastic! I get some larger hormonal breakouts along my jaw line and I feel like since I’ve started using this product, it does a great job keeping those pesky pimples as minimal as possible. I’m not sure how it compares to other brands’ Niacinamide products but I sure do The Ordinary’s version! Have you tried these products? What do you think?

The HGs of facial mists that change the game!
The HGs of facial mists that change the game!
Ok— ill start this by saying: you’re either a mister or you’re not. You either love using a facial mist, or could care less and do not see the point. I’m here to tell you: no matter the skin type or concerns you have, you can always benefit from added hydration and locking in your precious skincare routine you just spent however long doing. Introducing my two favorite mists, that I use for two entirely different purposes: YTTP adaptogen soothe + hydrate activated mist and AOS molecular savior probiotics repair mist. YTTP Adaptogen soothe + hydrate activated mist is a HOLYGRAIL, game changing, mist for me. This is perfect for sensitive and irritated skin types but oily/normal/combo/& dry can benefit from this one! It claims to be an ultra- fine mist that hydrates, calms visible redness, and evens the look of skin tone with antioxidant- rich adaptogens, hyaluronic acid, and soothing peptides. It is to be “like a serum” in a mist. It definitely has a really refreshing, slightly milky, texture that comes out of the finest mister that I have ever experienced. I really love how cooling and soothing it is on the skin right away and it has really sturdy, beautiful, glass packaging. I use it a few different ways: as a mid day pick-me-up, right after cleansing as more of a toner, in between serum steps to keep my face damp, at the end of my routine to seal everything in, OR my favorite is as a layering serum spray. I like to apply a serum and then layer on this mist as a plumping essence-type delivery. It leaves my skin so hydrated! I highly recommend this for any and all skin types. Allies of Skin molecular savior probiotics repair mist: claims to be a godsend for thirsty skin. It is composed of an alcohol free aloe and rose water base and a reparative blend of probiotics and 6 antioxidants that leave your complexion glowing and dewy. This mist is actually so unique and I will never stop reaching for it. I have never had a mist KEEP THE GLOW like this one does. I religiously use it as a toner after I cleanse, to really pump up the hydration and help my following layers absorb deeper, and also to seal in my routine at the end. I swear nothing keeps my night routine locked down like this mist! I always wake up glowing and still deeply hydrated! That is huge for a dehydrated/dry girl like me. It is also packed with a super complex of brightening ingredients. It does have a slight floral scent to it, but no added fragrance. It comes out of the packaging a little aggressive— so I like to spritz it into my hands and pat into the skin. I highly recommend this mist as well, for all skin types. Do I love both of these mists? YES. But, I have two very different purposes for them and they will both forever be in my collection. Deep Hydration Without the Heaviness
Deep Hydration Without the Heaviness
This is instant hydration in a jar! For such a hydrating moisturizer, it’s not heavy or greasy. It absorbs beautifully giving your skin the hydration it needs. This is perfect for everyone suffering from dry skin. My skin type is mostly normal but I still love to give my skin a drink in the PM and this is such a great one to use. Due to its calming properties, this is also ideal for sensitive skin or irritated skin. I use this either with my go-to products, or after I’ve used the Superfood cleanser as I find it dries my skin a tad (but does an amazing job at removing my makeup and the grimy buildup from the day). This is light enough to use in the summer and hydrating enough for the winter, so it’s basically the perfect all-year-round moisturizer :) YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Adaptogen Deep Moisture Cream with Ashwagandha + Reishi Benefits According to YTTP: Squalane: Mimics your skin’s natural oils to boost skin hydration without the risk of clogged pores. Ashwagandha: A powerful adaptogenic root full of protective antioxidants and amino acids to reduce visible signs of fatigue. Fermented Reishi: An antioxidant-rich adaptogenic mushroom that works to hydrate, detoxify, and combat premature signs of aging. We use a unique fermented reishi extract for its deeply hydrating properties. Why I love it: + super hydrating + vegan and cruelty-free + fragrance free but still has an earthy smell to it which I kind of enjoy haha + doesn’t leave my skin feeling greasy + absorbs beautifully + it’s antioxidant-rich Cons: + it’s on the pricier side: 60 mLs for $75 CAD

All of a sudden this brand is EVERYWHERE and I feel like I need to test out some of their products for myself. I got a sample of this moisturizer from Sephora and honestly just wasn’t very impressed. I have very dry skin and even for me it felt too heavy and kind of greasy. Maybe this would be a good heavy night cream for someone older (I am 26), but it did not feel like it was formulated to penetrate the skin. The cream just sat on top of my skin and made me feel sweaty. Moisture level wise I feel like you can get the same benefit at a fraction of the price from CeraVe’s face cream. If you’re going to try their brand out, skip this one! YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Adaptogen Deep Moisture Cream with Ashwagandha + Reishi

Heres a FAB selfie on this fab
Heres a FAB selfie on this fabulous day! . A whole shelf full of first aid beauty products that I have been trying out lately. There are some knockout new products and some old favourites. . I have seriously been loving the Ultra Repair BarriAIR cream, with its bubbly, foamy texture, and the Ultra Repair Oat and Cannabis Sativa Seed Oil, which is both hydrating and calming. The oil has a really thin consistency and is the texture of a dry oil, meaning it sinks in right away and doesn’t leave your skin feeling greasy or heavy at all. I also really like the scent of this oil, its very clean and almost soapy. . The Ultra Repair Cream is an OG and is a beautiful whipped, pearly moisturizer. I love it on my ultra dry legs. It locks in moisture right away and doesn’t feel sticky at all! Their Ultra Repair Cleanser is also a favourite of mine. It’s pH balanced at 5.5, which is the natural acidity level of your skin, so it won’t strip your skin or leave it feeling tight. . All around, these have been a big hit for me!

If You Can Get Passed the Smell...
If You Can Get Passed the Smell...
If you can get passed the smell of this product, it’s not too bad. THE inkey LIST - Multi-Biotic Balancing Moisturizer This moisturizer is meant to help strengthen the skin’s surface, enhance moisture, soothe the skin, and maintain a healthy pH. It smells yeasty, or like sour yogurt. It’s not an alluring scent but I don’t see how they could cover it up with all the ingredients this moisturizer contains (pre-, pro-, and post- biotics) so maybe it’s a good thing it smells how it smells. The Biotics: Prebiotics: inulin, & oat derivative Probiotic: 5% yogurt powder Postbiotic: hyaluronic acid & heptapeptide-7 The con in terms of this product is the smell, however it has more pros, making it possibly an ideal product for people with combination or mature skin. Pros: + it’s light-weight + non-greasy + small enough for travel! (Maybe a con for some?) + the smell doesn’t linger (haha) + protects against environmental stressors + it’s ideal for all skin types + perfect if you’ve over-exfoliated How to use: 🍃Apply a pea-size amount in the AM or PM after preferred serums Thoughts: While this is affordable, there are a lot of other moisturizers I prefer. I think it’s perfect for people with oily, combo, or sensitive skin. My skin type is mostly normal so the product ideally works well with my skin type but I haven’t seen enough results, nor do I think I will because of the smell lol. It’s nice that it’s light-weight and non-greasy, though.

Kate Somerville Goat Milk Cream
Kate Somerville Goat Milk Cream
FIRST IMPRESSIONS: Is it worth $65? I received this cream in my Fab Fit Fun box and was excited to try it out, but failed to read the ingredients list before choosing this product. Long story short: I am not impressed. ABOUT THE INGREDIENTS: The good: It contains lactose from goat milk and aloe which is meant to be soothing to the skin. It also contains a variety of oils including jojoba, grape seed oil, and sunflower oil which are known to be hydrating. The bad: It contains witch hazel which has really negative long term effects to the skin similar to alcohol. Some of the oils also featured in this product are avocado oil and coconut oil, which are very comedogenic (meaning it clogs your pores). HOW IT APPLIED TO THE SKIN: It is a very lightweight product since it’s water-based which is nice because a little goes a long way! I did notice that it is very slow to absorb. It initially left a sort of slick feeling as it absorbed which I wasn’t very fond of. It felt like I had an extra layer on my face and the leftover residue on my hand felt like a dry oil. This feeling did eventually go away and left my skin feeling soft. IS IT WORTH IT? For starters, it has witch hazel so right off the bat I would say no. I stay away from products with witch hazel and alcohol as much as possible to avoid long term damage. It claims to be for all skin types, but I wouldn’t recommend if you have combination-oily skin like I do. People with oily skin tend to have enlarged pores to which a product like this (with so many oils) wouldn’t help. If you have very dry or sensitive skin this is something that could work for you, but at a $65 price point there are much better options on the market. SAVE YOUR BUCKS AND GO GET SOME CERAVE!
