HELP!! What actives should I be using?
I’m really struggling to figure out which actives I should be using... which means I’m not sticking to any one in particular, just jumping around from product to product whenever I feel like it. I know I need to be consistent, I just don’t know which one(s) to do. What would be the best to use/combine? Should I use one type in the AM with sunscreen and another at night? Currently I’m using - Softymo Deep Cleansing Oil to remove makeup CeraVe - Foaming Facial Cleanser For Normal To Oily Skin as face wash DERMA•E - All Sport Performance Face Sunscreen SPF 30 as sunscreen and I recently switched to CeraVe - PM Facial Moisturizing Lotion from the CeraVe cream in the tub. I also have CeraVe - Renewing SA Lotionbut I’m hesitant to use it with my other actives. Any advice is appreciated, I’m really struggling 🥺
A 2 Week Update
After changing out my cleanser, toner, and moisturizer for the suggestions made by this app (and from reading your posts and watching Hyram’s videos) my skin is looking smoother and better than ever! I have sensitive skin that’s also combination and I’m allergic to some skincare ingredients and fragrances. I used to use CLINIQUE - Liquid Facial Soap Oily Skin Formula , CLINIQUE - Clarifying Lotion 3 for Combination Oily Skin , CLINIQUE - 7 Day Scrub Cream Rinse-Off Formula , and CLINIQUE - Moisture Surge 72-Hour Auto-Replenishing Hydrator (where the oily skin moisturizing gel was not good on my dry skin) as my nightly routine with HUDA BEAUTY - Yo Glow Facial Enzyme Scrub once a week. I found that first it worked to clear me up, but then my sensitivities came out. I still had little bumps come up on my forehead, my dermatitis was coming out on my nose, chin, and temple. I knew I had to change it up, but was afraid to break from the system I was so used to. I did the skincare scan and was recommended to try a glycolic acid toner for my acne. I picked up The Ordinary - Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution and CeraVe - Renewing SA Lotion to help with my problem areas. I ended up using both products in more areas than just my face (as you can see in one of my previous posts). I wanted to change up my cleanser, and wanted the CeraVe - Renewing SA Cleanser For Normal Skin, but it’s still sold out everywhere unless I want to spend $40 CAD and shipping to get it from Amazon. I watched Hyram’s CeraVe dupes video and found the Aveeno - Clear Complexion Foaming Cleanser . I was a bit apprehensive where it has fragrance, but it’s been good! Ooh, and I still use HUDA BEAUTY - Yo Glow Facial Enzyme Scrub once a week! My skin purged for a few days and now I’ve got the remains of 2 pimples barely left on my face, my red patches of irritated skin on my face are gone! All I’ve got to do now is to keep from touching my face (which is more on my mind due to the current state of the world) and stop popping pimples (which is a much easier feat where they’re minimal now!) My mom has even hopped on The Ordinary and Yo Glow train lol Let me know if you have any further suggestions or questions! ❤️
THE HAIR TOOL YOU’RE MISSING!
This is the Briogeo Scalp Massager. It’s bristles are super soft yet firm enough to offer a relaxing scalp massage and scrub. The bristles are removable so you don’t have to worry about water collecting inside and nasty mildew growing on the inner interior of the massager. The handle makes this hair tool very easy to use! I recently saw this on Cherie and decided I had to try it! I apply my shampoo and lather it then I go in with the scrubber and just massage in small circles to help get that extra clean & improve my scalp’s circulation. Shampoo is not this scalp scrubber’s only use!! With winter coming, our skin is likely to become more dry than in the summer months—and that includes our scalp! I invested in a scalp oil to use once per week. I usually drop the oil along my scalp then use the Briogeo scalp scrubber to massage it in! I allow the oil to sit for one hour then I shower and shampoo it off. I try not to sleep on my pillow with oils in my hair because then it transfers to my face and I wake up with new breakouts. One thing i just discovered with this scalp scrubber is that it is GREAT for dry shampoo! We’re all guilty of just relying on dry shampoo every now and then😉 so this scrubber is great for helping to rub it in to the scalp and even distribute to the surrounding areas on the scalp. Another good idea for use with the scrubber is apply a scalp scrub, such as DRUNK ELEPHANT - T.L.C. Happi Scalp Scrub It has a blend of AHAs and BHAs to lightly exfoliate the scalp. Lastly, this scrubber is SUPER AFFORDABLE!!! For $15, this can be yours! I purchased mine on Revolve and I received it in 3 days. This product also makes a GREAT gift, especially with Christmas and Hanukkah right around the corner. 5 ⭐️ all the way! Briogeo - Scalp Revival Stimulating Therapy Massager
Build up saver! 🧖🏽♀️
This is not a necessary item but it has changed my shower game! As mentioned before I only wash my hair once a week so through out the week I’m essentially just refreshing my curls by adding more product to it. So a couple of months ago I really started to struggle with build up on my scalp. So one day while scrolling through the Sephora app looking at things I don’t need I came across the Briogeo - Scalp Revival Stimulating Therapy Massager After about 3 uses I started to see a difference on my scalp and the build up. I don’t know how I lived without it before.
Today’s Essentials is Cake Delectable Body Butter Cream and Love Beauty and Planet Shampoo/conditioner. . The body butter is my absolute Favorite body cream. It smells sooooooo good!! Almost like a sweet cupcake! This thick, creamy cream works awesome after a pedicure on my dry feet! . Love Beauty and Planet is also a great shampoo/conditioner. Smells like roses and lathers very well. It’s Not 100% natural but it does contain some plant based ingredients. Also cruelty free!

I saw a quote once that said “climate change won’t be solved by a handful of people reducing their impact perfectly, but by a lot of people (and corporations) reducing their impact imperfectly.” Lately, I’ve been considering how I can be more intentional about the things I buy and businesses I buy from. This is my small (but mighty) zero-waste collection. It’s not perfect, but it’s a start! Next on my list is a bamboo toothbrush. I’m also choosing to buy from brands that implement eco-friendly initiatives, are minority- or woman-owned, and/or have mentorship programs in place. You can find a lot of this info on a brand’s FAQ webpage! Companies that I feel good about include Shea Moisture, Acure, Dr. Bronner’s, Kinship, Maelove, Dove, Native, Ethique, BounceCurl, Radius.. there are so many to name! Also remember that the most eco-friendly products are the ones you currently own. So use up what you have before going on a low-waste shopping spree :) (Reviews for these are already up on my page) 🦷RADIUS - Usda Organic Floss 🥝ethique - Eco-Friendly Heali Kiwi Shampoo Bar For Touchy Scalps 🧼Dove - Sensitive Skin Beauty Bar

Castor Oil? How U Use It And How It Works
I’ve been on a hair growth journey for a while now. Back in 2018 I cut my hair shoulder length. My hair was originally to my butt. I used a lot of heat on my hair in the beginning of the school year 2019. I got really scared because my hair started smelling burned and I had splits ends it was getting bad. So during stay at home I kind of lost track of my hair but I hadn’t used heat on my hair at all. HERITAGE STORE - Castor Oil This oil is super super thick!! I recommend using this oil before you got to bed and use a shower cap because it leaves your hair super greasy. When wake up and wash your hair. This Product was at the most $8 at Target HERITAGE STORE - Castor Oil Castor Oil is AMAZING for hair growth!!!
