Forehead wrinkles and pores.
My forehead is the part of my face that shows age the most. I’ve always wrinkled my forehead but the wrinkles only became noticeable in the past year. The top picture was taken in May and the bottom picture in December. When it comes to skincare, I tend to play the long game. I rarely see instant results so I like to give products some time to work. Overall, I’ve noticed that my forehead wrinkles are less noticeable, my pores are less visible and my skin looks healthier and brighter. SEPHORA COLLECTION - Ultra Glow Serum: Glow + Strengthen Vitamin C SerumI started using this serum in the mornings under my moisturizer in May. I found this serum to be devoid of any weird smells, lightweight and almost watery in texture. My skin absorbs the serum right up and it doesn’t feel oily or sticky afterward. My only issue with this formula is that it comes in a clear bottle. Everything I’ve read says Vitamin C degrades with light. I hope Sephora figured out how to keep the serum stable in a clear bottle but I wasn’t sure so I kept it inside the box to minimize light exposure. Has anyone contacted Sephora about this? I didn’t see this addressed on the product’s page. StriVectin - SD Advanced Plus Intensive Moisturizing Concentrate For Wrinkles & Stretch MarksI usually follow up the Vitamin C serum with this Moisturizing Concentrate every morning. I also use this concentrate in the evening. The formula is creamy but thicker than other moisturizers I’ve used in the past. It leaves my skin feeling very moisturized. I only use a little bit because my skin won’t absorb all of it if I apply too much. LA ROCHE-POSAY - Toleriane Double Repair Face Moisturizer UV SPF 30I finish my morning routine with this moisturizer because my skin loves it! I don’t get breakouts from this formula and it has SPF. A definite AM winner. I’m keeping the StriVectin and the La Roche-Posay products but I’m trying a new Vitamin C serum that has better packaging.

cherievThanks for posting about forehead lines. I’m sure mine are from sun and a lot of funny family facial expressions. Lol. Definitely going to look into some of these products. 😊💜
LuluLoveI’m sure mine are from the exact same thing! Make sure you take some before pictures. I didn’t realize how well the products were working until I compared my before and after pictures.

Moisturizer barrier protection
Although I have oily skin, it’s also important to moisturize it especially during winter. Having dry skin can be a cause of acne. Dry skin also makes your makeup look dull. Dry skin also accompanies larger pores. And so it’s really important to make sure your skin’s moisture barrier is at a healthy state. I depend on StriVectin - SD Advanced Plus Intensive Moisturizing Concentrate For Wrinkles & Stretch Marks during the winter to moisturize my face. It’s a very thick cream so a little goes a long way. It not only hydrated but also prevent wrinkles as well. Bring this moisturizer down your neck as well because first signs of aging can be seen at your neck.
Old vs New: Moisturizers 🖤
Moisturizer is such a must!! It doesn’t matter what skin type you have, you always have to use a moisturizer! A rule of thumb is cream moisturizers work best for dry skin while gel typically work best for oily skin. That being said there are a few exceptions. For me that one exception was the StriVectin - SD Advanced Plus Intensive Moisturizing Concentrate For Wrinkles & Stretch Marks This by far was one of my favorite moisturizers I’ve used. I was lucky enough to win it in a giveaway because a 2 oz bottle costs $79. Strivectin claims this stretch mark cream turned anti-wrinkle moisturizer will provide 72 hours of hydration, while reducing fine lines, wrinkles, and improving skins texture. Now I’m 24, I know I don’t have many wrinkles to correct but what this did do was help smooth out my skin a lot. I’ve noticed how soft, smooth, and hydrated my skin does feel after using it. It’s a cream formula so I mainly use this at night but it isn’t heavy on the skin nor make me super oily. I do think it’s improved the elasticity of my skin as well. Purely for the price and the fact I have way too many moisturizers in my stock pile I did not repurchase. My new moisturizer is one I’ve used before but it is one I enjoy. The FIRST AID BEAUTY - Ultra Repair BarriAIR Cream Safe for Sensitive Skin has a texture that I’ve never felt before! When you open the jar the product inside is bubbles but underneath is the actual product. It’s almost like a gel cream hybrid that feels light as air on the skin. It can feel a little slimy at first so I don’t think this is for everyone but once you work in the product it feels light as air on the skin. It feels very hydrating and nourishing. I also really appreciate the fact it is fragrance free!! I really like this because I feel like it helps my skin barrier which is always a little dehydrated and damaged. Both have very different textures but work so well for my oily skin. If you have more dry skin and the money to spend (or more mature skin) I would completely recommend the Strivectin. If you’re looking for a cheaper option or have oily skin you might really love the lightweight hydration the First Aid Beauty. 🖤 What are some of your favorite moisturizers?

Dry, redness prone, sensitive skin
Hi everyone :) Since I can remember I’ve dealt with dry and sensitive skin. My skin is always red to some level. I’ve been to dermatologists in the past and they always said it was something I would grow out of. I’m 27 and while my skin has improved over time, I still have a lot of redness. I was never told that I have rosacea, but I’m pretty that’s what I’m dealing with! Wondering if anyone has any suggestions for products that might help? While my current routine works well for my skin, I’m curious to see if there’s anything else I could incorporate to help with my redness. Thanks in advance!
So I haven’t been on here in a little while because I’ve been trying to take a break on taking photos of my face and looking at skincare social media because it’s really compromised my mental health and I’m a lot less stressed about it when I’m not constantly focused on it if that makes sense :) Anyways WHOLE NEW ROUTINE last time I checked in I had mentioned I switched to differin, I’m not too sure if that helped me, I did purge a lot. But skin has healed so much faster since stopping differin I finally got to visit the derm and she told me to go back on tretinoin 0.025% to use every night, and she also prescribed me with the clindamycin topical solution 1% to use once every morning. She also advised me to go back on birth control. At first I was not fond of that because birth control AKA I.U.D HELL brought this acne upon me in the first place. But she recommended it to get my hormones back in check, but she also stated she wasn’t comfortable prescribing me spirlactone (which is what I was aiming for) without using BC even though I stated to her I am not sexually active currently and I don’t plan to be for a very long time. Anyways, I made an appointment with my obgyn and got on birth control pills, if you are curious to which one it’s called “Drospirenone” I haven’t started them yet because she told me to wait until the first Sunday during my period. But I have been consistently using the tret and the clindamycin every day for only a week and a half so far and I’ve already seen a lot of improvement. I don’t want to get too excited because I this is what happened the first time with tret, it was great the first week or two and then my skin started to purge. I’ve now been through the purging process 3 times. And it’s gonna be torture to go through it again but if it happens then it happens 🙏 Super nervous to start the birth control for the same reason but I can only be positive and hope for the best! My full routine currently is AM VANICREAM - Gentle Facial Cleanser clindamycin topical solution 1% (derm prescribed) LA ROCHE-POSAY - Toleriane Double Repair Face Moisturizer UV SPF 30 *im switching to a higher spf PM VANICREAM - Gentle Facial Cleanser Neutrogena - Hydro Boost Gel-Cream (the extra dry unscented version) OBAGI - Tretinoin 0.025% Cream(derm prescribed) And sometimes I like to put another thin layer of moisturizer on top once the tret is absorbed to prevent irritation and dryness
Hey y’all! After getting a collection of minis from Sephora this SEPHORA COLLECTION - Ultra Glow Serum: Glow + Strengthen Vitamin C Serum was in it! The serum has next to no fragrance, feels great on the skin and it actually kept my acne at bay when I had my period! I gave it 4 instead of 5 starts because it’s a watery texture and I prefer something a little thicker so I don’t lose any product from too much coming out or dripping it. Let me know if you give this a try! 💧
My Highly Recommended Buys in Sephora💋
Sephora store is arguably the world's leading authority on cosmetics retail, which is definitely a great place to make good deals. I usually really enjoy visiting Sephora and always pick up some nice things. Though Sephora provides a collection of all kinds of cosmetics brands, its own skincare product line is also awesome. I do not know about you all but I LOVE the Sephora Collection skincare. Here I’m gonna share some good things I've tried. ▷ SEPHORA All Day Hydrator - Hydrate and Glow Hyaluronic Acid SEPHORA COLLECTION - All Day Hydrator Hydrate & Glow This is a lightweight moisturizing cream including Hyaluronic Acid(increase water retention to prevent dehydration) and Glycerin(moisturize the skin). I think it’s a wonderful non-greasy moisturizer that can improve dryness, redness, dull skin. I have very dry skin, this cream can stay on my face and moisturizes it all day! Anyway, with it, a natural glow on the skin is no longer a dream! ▷ Sephora Ultra Glow Serum: Glow + Strengthen Vitamin C + E Serum SEPHORA COLLECTION - Ultra Glow Serum: Glow + Strengthen Vitamin C Serum I love this facial serum. It absolutely adds great shine to my dull skin. It is so clean and I love the ingredients in it, containing natural Vitamin C and E(provide radiance and protect the skin from environmental factors), natural Peptides From Marine Algae( known for its tightening effect). ▷ Sephora Vitamin Mask SEPHORA COLLECTION - The Vitamins Masks Kit There are six types including cranberry, pear, passion fruit, white grape, pink grapefruit, and maqui berry, correspond to vitamin A, B, B3, B6, C, and E, respectively. They have different effects, which can satisfy your all needs: nourishing, hydrating, lightening, moisturizing brightening, anti-aging, repairing, and regenerating. The mask cloth is made of 100% natural banana fibers, which is skin-friendly breathable. Then they're packed with adequate essence. I have relatively sensitive skin and tend to have minor redness. These masks definitely help to reduce redness. I find them to be very relaxing and my skin feels soft and moisturized afterward. I especially like the variety that comes with the set. Hope you guys like it!
drroebucks products ! This is an Australian greenbeauty brand that is now being carried at sephora. I love their ethos of using minimal ingredients to maximum effects. Ultimate Hydrating Serum and FACE anti-aging moisturizer. I honestly love both of these and I'm looking forward to trying more from this brand. The serum is a surprisingly thick citrusy serum, but despite applying rather thick it absorbs really quickly and does a great job hydrating my skin. It leaves a very slight tacky finish, but since I use moisturizer after I don't mind at all. This has a great ingredients list with aloe, a stable form of vitamin c, creatine, and other nutrients at the top of the list. I haven't noticed any brightening yet but it is definitely effective for hydration. My only suggestion would be to have this serum in a pump bottle because it is so thick the dropper doesn't pick it up well. The FACE moisturizer has become my go-to night cream. It's highly moisturizing but doesn't feel thick or heavy. It would probably be fine during the day for my normal-combination skin but I have a pretty moisturizing sunscreen so I prefer using it at night. This has a SUPER short ingredients list featuring macadamia and rosehip oils -- I'm actually amazed at how good it feels on the skin with such a short INCI, and it would be ideal for sensitive skin because of this. I'm so glad I got to try these and you can bet I'll be using these up!
Vichy Liftactiv Peptide-c
I was gifted the VICHY - LiftActiv Peptide-C Anti-Aging Face Moisturizer for review purposes. This is meant to be a moisturizer containing vitamin c meant to brighten the skin. While I think the results were okay, my skin did not sit well with the formula at all. It is an all skin types product but I would not reccomend for acne prone or sensitive skin. It’s heavy in silicones which make it feel slick and mattifying but also have a tendency to cause breakouts for me. I was able to get away with this using it 1-2 times a week without too many breakouts but it wasn’t quite worth it. It did seem to make my face seem super bright and smooth which was great until breakouts began. It’s hard to actually see the results of peptides so I can’t speak to any long term benefit. It also has an orange scent to it which I could definitely live without. I think there are more effective vitamin c products out there so I probably wouldn’t opt for this unless you’re someone who likes how silicones work on their skin. A plus for me is that you can pick this up in drugstores rather than having to special order it. And the jar is super pretty too which is nice
VICHY-LiftActiv Peptide-C Anti-Aging Face Moisturizer
The ideal day routine vichy. idealia has the perfect formula for everyone- a dry skin moisturizer, combo, normal skin and even combo-oily. Their serum is by far my favourite day serum to use, since it has a light, watery texture that absorbs perfectly, and has my favourite active ingredients- antioxidants. The antioxidants in this line is a fermented black tea and blueberry polyphenols- known antioxidant compounds that have been found to reduce free radical damage 😍 My biggest thing, even before pregnancy, and now more-so in pregnancy, is to incorporate antioxidants in daily skincare to protect from free-radical damage, especially since formation of spots, or melasma, becomes more common during pregnancy, so a combination of antioxidants and sunscreen is key 🔑 I love getting these actives in a serum, since serums get into the deeper layers of the epidermis better than a moisturizer does, but with Ideal, you can get the actives in both the serum and the moisturizer!
Products From The Same Skincare Line Are Meant To Be Used Together
Having lived in France for a year, I have learned to really take care of my skin. French women are all about the skin and wearing natural makeup looks. They’re not much of a fan of foundation and layers of makeup products to hide the skin. I have adopted this skin philosophy while living there, and since their pharmacies are literally skincare heavens, it wasn’t really hard to find something that will help target my specific skin concerns. If you follow my skincare reviews here on Cherie, you’ll know that I have a dry combination skin type that is, at the same time, sensitive too. I wasn’t very good at wearing SPF in the previous years; this is why I now suffer from hyperpigmentation. I’ve learned my lesson so now I wear it every day even if I don’t go out. It’s pretty clear that skincare labels develop a line with multiple products in it to be used together. So it is just logical that these 2 products from La Roche-Posay’s Pigmentclar line work together. LA ROCHE-POSAY - Pigmentclar Serum Visible Dark Spot Reducer I use this serum during daytime after my usual cleanse, tone, and essence steps. It has a very light consistency, more like a gel type of formula so it’s perfect for humid weather. The first time I used it, I felt a slight tingling sensation on my cheeks, but it didn’t cause any irritation in the form of redness on my face. It’s normal for me to feel this especially during the first time of using a new product as my skin is extremely sensitive so it takes a tiny bit of time to get used to products I introduce in my routine. La Roche-Posay Pigmentclar Daily Moisturizer I top the serum off with this moisturizer in the Pigmentclar line, then finish the routine with a lightweight SPF 50 sunscreen. I noticed that my skin has slightly brightened after about a month of using this product. It has literally turned my face a bit on the paler side. I have natural olive skin undertone, but I do get a bit pale when I don’t get much sun. I can still see a bit of redness on both sides of my nostrils though and a bit on my cheeks. I think these products are good for overall brightening, and not to specifically target redness on certain facial areas.

Mini Products, Maximum Hydrating Effects
Peter Thomas Roth Water Drench Hyaluronic Cloud Cream Hydrating Moisturizer I got this mini travel sized moisturizer as a free gift along with a purchase. I’ve been using this for 2 days now and I am seriously considering getting the regular tub. This product is packed with hyaluronic acid, and we all know that hyaluronic acid is responsible for making our skin look supple and youthful hence, anything that has HA in it is super hydrating and will really help our skin maintain its youthful glow. Within the short time that I’ve been using this product, I feel that it’s extremely moisturizing on my face. My face feels so plump and bouncy right after applying it. The moisture lives on even after a few hours after application. I use it in tandem with my normal routine of cleanse, tone, serums, and my dry combination skin has since been loving it. PETER THOMAS ROTH - Potent-C Vitamin C Power Serum This is another travel sized mini product that I have been loving lately. Vitamin C is known to counteract hyperpigmentation and uneven skin texture so anything with it is super helpful if you have the same issues like me such as sun spots. This serum feels so good. The only downside is its smell but it’s not overpowering so it doesn’t really bother me too much. I can look past a product’s smell if it delivers me great results. Like the first product, it has only been 2 days since the first time I’ve used it but it does make my face glow and appear brighter than it was. I think vitamin C has an instant effect, and with that, I’m very thankful cause I like my skincare products to deliver me quick results. If you’re looking for a brightening serum to combat your hyperpigmentation, try this.
