It may take trial and error but you will find what works for you. I have been sticking to a routine for 2 months now. Before that I just used different products here and there. Mad Hippie Vit A + Triple C Night cream - NR
MY CURRENT NIGHT ROUTINE So for those who have seen previous post of mine you probably know my obsession with Mad Hippie - Vitamin A Serum It’s been a huge help with my hyperpigmentation and it keeps my face feeling soft, plumped, hydrated and healthy Recently purchasing Mad Hippies Night cream, I thought I’d share some details on both products and why These . Are . IT Mad Hippie - Vitamin A Serum Vitamin A or what others know as RETINOL is known for stimulating collagen production, reducing pigmentation and premature aging What makes mad hippie different is they use HPR, a form of vitamin A that is bio available and does not need to take the metabolic steps like Retinol. It also contains Sodium hyaluronic - the salt of hyaluronic acid which reallllly helps with the moisture Aloe Vera & Oat Beta glucan - both helps fight wrinkles, soothes and nourishes After cleansing my face I apply a few drops on clean skin and give it 5-10 minutes to really absorb Mad Hippie - Triple C Night Cream Containing 3 bio available versions of Vit C this cream is a strong contender for fighting daily stressors, brighten, reduce discolouration and wrinkles (um yes). Reishi - Mushroom that contains antioxidants and hydration (on a side note) I LOVE MUSHROOM PRODUCTS. I drink mushroom coffee errday and have 10 mushroom blends I use daily. The power of mushroom is no joke and you should look into it Sodium PCA - binds moisture, improves hydration Cloudberry - Helps with pigmentation and brightness Turmeric extract - pigmentation/discolouration boo and known to help my acne prone friends Chaga - ANOTHER MUSHROOM 😍 but like also good for protecting you and daily stressors Shea butter!!!! Ceramics - holds moisture A lot of people like to use Vit C during the day but I’ve always liked using it at night. Having this cream has eliminated my nightly VitC step all together :) Though I’ve had this night cream for less than a month this is a SUPER hydrating face cream for my dry ladies I apply this after letting my Vit A serum absorb It does NOT irritate my damaged skin and in combination with VitA leaves my skin feeling like a babies bottom :) If you made it to the end, this is your sign! Look into organic, natural skin care products or mushrooms lol... always remember less is more :)))) bye
florishe full blossom serum what is it? 🧴 this k-beauty serum claims to rejuvenate, plump and moisturize your skin. it contains 55% green tea leaf water to prevent premature aging and combat fine lines, combined with camellia flower seed oil to promote collagen and centella asiatica (aka cica) to calm inflammation and redness my thoughts? 💭 this luxurious product has become such a valuable part of my routine. it has a milk-gel consistency that reminds me exactly of B-hydra (swipe), with similar effects as well. it combats any dry, flakey patches and tightness, and leaves the skin feeling very plump and supple. it soaks in within seconds and leaves 0 residue; just smooth, hydrated skin. it’s one of those products that I didn’t know I was missing, but now that I have it, my routine is not the same without it. I apply this after my toner, before other serums, and I find it is helping my other serums soak in smoothly and efficiently as opposed to lingering on the surface. the only reason I am unsure if I will repurchase this is because the price tag is on the higher end, but still reasonable in comparison to the price points of many other serums (usd $80) *however* with exchange, that’s about $110 Canadian, and I rarely justify spending over $100 on one product.

SKINMEDICA HA5 REJUVENATING REVIEW I’ve been testing the skinmedica HA5 that retails for 178$ for a 2 oz. bottle. It has 5 hyaluronic acids. Key ingredients are: hyaluronic acid, peptide complex, & vitamin e. However, dimethicone is second on the list. Claims: To increase the water hydration in the skin, thus giving the appearance of younger skin. Application: After toner wet fingertips & apply the HA5 immediately before moisturizer. It has an odd smell of paint. Results: The smoothing benefits were immediate due to the silicone in it & it does feel like pure silicone. It leaves that silky, velvety feel behind. After 20 mins that feeling is gone & it takes on a more tacky feel, which I love! Final Outcome: In my opinion, it lives up to its claims, although I wasn’t wowed by it like I should be for 178$. I also don’t care for applying dimethicone (a lot of it) to my skin morning and night either. I have tried many other products with hyaluronic acid that hydrate me just as well without the dimethicone or heavy price tag. Hope this helps!

Great Vitamin C Serum
I like how this serum feels so light and clean. It makes my face feel a bit tighter when I apply it and doesn’t make your face dry up. It really hydrates the skin and feels refreshing. #OLEHENRIKSEN - Truth Serum[goods]#[FourStars]
Tatcha 💜 Fave or Meh?
Tatcha is a brand that I feel like it on everyone’s radar. Like regardless of who you are most people have heard of Tatcha. I’ve tried a few products by the brand with great hopes (because of the hype) and I’ve been let down every time. They bring classical Japanese beauty culture to the western market. For me the brand is a meh. The two products I’ve tired the most from them have been the TATCHA - Luminous Deep Hydration Firming Eye Serum and TATCHA - THE SERUM STICK (both were gifted). The TATCHA - Luminous Deep Hydration Firming Eye Serum retails for $85 for .5 oz of product which I find completely over priced. There are a lot better options for eye creams that are less than half the price. They claim this eye serum brings youthful radiance to the under eye area. They have a little slanted applicator where the product pushes up that I assume you’re supposed to use to dot under the eye (it’s plastic though and not a cooling metal which for the price I would expect). It feels like a lightweight serum/cream consistency. I assumed because of the name it would have some brightening properties but once applied to the eye it doesn’t give you any kind of “glow”. After using it for a few weeks I wasn’t seeing a difference nor a “youthful glow” so I stopped using. It does lay well under make up and absorbs well but it’s not worth the price. I like the TATCHA - THE SERUM STICK more than the eye serum but it’s still not a huge hit. For $48 you get .28 oz of a solid serum. Not to be /that person but I have a bottle of squalane oil from the ordinary for like for $8. You’re getting majorly jipped when it comes to product. It has balm consistency that actually smooths on the skin without tugging which I do enjoy. It doesn’t feel too heavy on the skin. I have eczema so what I ended up using this for was when I would get dry patches or flares I would rub some on it. It did seem to help dry patches (which yes, despite having oily skin I do get occasionally from my eczema) after a period of a few days of use but I still don’t think it’s worth the money. I’ve also tried sample packets of their water cream and I had a full sized jar of their Indigo Smoothing Cream which I ended up giving to my boyfriend because I didn’t care for it (the outer portion of the lid also broke away from the part of the lid that screws on the product). I think for the price point a lot of their packaging feels super cheap. Especially the eye serum. For $85 the packaging feels so extremely cheap. It left me super confused and disappointed based on Tatcha’s price point and prestige.

Dr Barbara Sturm Hyaluronic Serum
DR. BARBARA STURM - DR. BARBARA STURM Hyaluronic Serum This is my Holy Grail product. I dread a day ever having to go without this serum. When I apply this, I can feel the hydration as it works it’s way from the top layers of my skin with the light weighted HA molecules to the deeper layers with the heavily weighted HA molecules. It absorbs so quickly that, if you blink, you’ve missed it. Yet, the hydration and baby-soft feel to your skin will be all the evidence you need to prove that you really have used the perfect hydrating serum.

My Mental Wellness Improved Through My Self AcceptanceWhen I was around 13 or 14 years old, I remember routinely taking one of my older sister’s black eyeliner pencils before school every morning. I’d arrive early so that I could slip away to the girl’s bathroom to apply a single black line to my eyelids. My parents didn’t allow me to wear any makeup at the time. Although this smudgy line on my eyelids didn’t make me look all that much different, I never felt comfortable at school without it. My teenage mind convinced myself that I needed some sort of cosmetic symbol in order to appropriately express my femininity. Up until that point in my life, society had told girls that looked like me - tall, Black, and with kinky hair - that we somehow weren’t as beautiful as the other girls. For far too long, I believed it too.Feb. 17
