⚡️Dry and flaky scalp problems no more!✨
Are you struggling with a dry scalp? Is it itchy or burning or flaky? Boy do I have a treat for you. So as a licensed cosmetologist I didn’t really learn as much as I wanted to about the ingredients in hair products. The instructors just told us that drugstore products were bad and did a lot of bad things to the hair. But when I started asking “why?” They had no answers. I wanted to know
WHY are drugstore products bad?
WHAT ingredients make these products bad and what happens when using them
WHO makes these products and gets them into stores if they are so bad?!This took a lot of time and research on my own, but I am so glad I did it so I can help you understand a little bit more! I have been dabbling with making my own hair care products! I’ve made some waterless shampoos and conditioners (ended up very sandy but still worth a shot) and natural shampoo and conditioners. I’ve worked with a cosmetic chemist to help me make sure I wasn’t going to blow anything up or cause an accidental chemical reaction so it’d be safe! With what I’ve learned, pure extracts are what give you your benefits in your hair products! It’s not just hair products either I might add. There’s extracts in your body wash, your face wash your lotions and your toothpastes sometimes! The extracts I’ve found to help out with your itchy scalp are:
Colloidal oatmeal-okay so this ones not necessarily an extract, but this really helps sooooothe the scalp. If you have eczema colloidal oatmeal is where it’s at!
Amla Berry Extract- this extract is so rich of Vitamin C and antioxidants! This helps to prevent dandruff and itchiness due to its anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties!
Aloe Vera Juice Extract- aloe contains little enzymes that actually REPAIR your dead skin cells! Aloe is also very hydrating and moisturizing you give your hair a shiny finish (with no dandruff I might add)
Bamboo Extract- this extract improves overall hair health! Helps with fullness and elasticity and it’s packed with antioxidants to really take care of the your hair(:
Caffeine Extract- this is the creme de la creme of extracts for itchy scalp. Caffeine actually sloughs off dead skin cells by exfoliating the scalp! Cool right?! Exfoliation of the scalp means you’re really increasing blood flow and circulation. Increasing blood flow and circulation means its stimulating the scalp enough to promote hair growth! This literally helps with dry itchy scalp and promotes hair growth! It’s an amazing extract that I think everyone should try out because i mean..who doesn’t want their hair to grow?!If you choose to add extracts to your haircare regimen, I’d definitely try to add it to a deep conditioner you already have. If you choose to add it to your colloidal oatmeal, add some xanthan gum to thicken it up almost like a conditioner! Photo from bellatory.com

How to get Healthy Silky Hair
First thing first, it is important to notice what causes frizz hair. Our Hair gets frizzy when it is dry and lacks moisture. Lack of humidity and heat caused by a shower are major causes of frizzy hair! My hair was highlighted for many years and I noticed my ends look lifeless and fried. I have a lot of breakage on my ends and they are super super dry and feeling like straw. I believe it is normally damage for most dark hair going lighter. I was recommended by a stylist friend who works in a salon and he said this was the best product selling last year and I have to try. I’ve always been a big fan of Kerastase and I love their oil. But this is my first time using their shampoo and masks. It is pricy and the result was amazing. KÉRASTASE - Blond Absolu Anti-Brass Purple Shampoo It is important that you use a moisturising or anti-frizzing shampoo that contains humectants like glycerin. This shampoo is a miracle treatment! It is actually the one work just as advertised - reverse and repair damage done to your hair done by bleaching or highlighting. It has an anti-static formula which leaves your hair shiny, smooth and strong. KÉRASTASE - Blond Absolu Anti-Brass Purple Mask I have to highlight this mask! It is an absolutely brilliant product! It does an excellent job on moisture retention, smoothing and protecting. At the same time , you can feel it works great on maintaining your hair’s own moisture and stopping frizzy hair after washing. I have to recommend my favorite product from Kerastase as well that always keeps my hair shiny. KÉRASTASE - Kerastase Elixir Ultime L'huile Originale Oil This serum has very light textures and feels comfortable when you put it on. I normally apply a few drops before going the sleep and next day wake up gorgeous

SWAP SHAVING CREAM FOR...✨ #CheriePartner
Dry shaving- 🥉 Shaving cream-🥈 Hair conditioner- 🥇 Ever since I swapped my shaving cream for conditioner I have noticed a closer shave, no more razor bumps and ingrown hairs, and smoother legs that last longer. I first discovered that this could be a swap when I ran out of shaving cream in the shower and needed a substitute. I used this product instead so I would not experience the dreaded razor burn. To my surprise the conditioner did just that and more. I have used multiple different conditioners and they all work the same when it comes to shaving. I currently use ogx - Nourishing Coconut Milk Conditioner and it leaves smooth legs afterwards. As you can see in the photo, the conditioner is a lot thinner than a regular shaving cream. The product tends to build up quicker in the razor head but will instantly be removed upon getting wet with water. If your conditioner has moisturizing properties, that is always a plus for your legs. Have you ever tried this hack out? What are your thoughts?⬇️

Help me build a hair routine
Hello Everyone! I’ve recently noticed that my hair has been falling out like crazy. I mean just look at the photo.. yeah, yikes! 😬 it’s gotten to the point that I’m scared to shower because I’ll lose more hair. I’ve looked for any products that could help but all I found are the shampoo and conditioner in last picture. This is my first time using that product. Can anyone recommend any products that can help with hair loss, hair thinning , frizzy hair, course/dry hair? I want to build a good hair routine. some other things I will be doing: 💇🏽♀️: wash hair every 3 days 💇🏽♀️: use dry shampoo 💇🏽♀️: not brush hair when wet 💇🏽♀️: change in diet 💇🏽♀️: no heat If anyone has any tips I would appreciate that as well! Thank you!
HOW TO GET RID OF OILY HAIR 💡💡💡
I used to hate washing my hair every night before I got in bed, while I have to, due to the greasy hair. If you have thick oily hair too, well, lucky for you, I’m gonna share my experience in fighting my thick oily hair and how I finally keep my hair under control, Look how wonderful my hair is now! Keep going! Before I get started, girls, I just wanna say, oily scalp and hair are pretty common, you don’t have to feel ashamed about it. There are multiple ways and products could help us to get rid of it! If you have oily skin, you would definitely know charcoal masks that can unclog pores, sap up excess sebum that leads to blackheads, and give skin a thoroughly deep cleanse. But if your scalp is overproducing oil, it may surprise you that it has similar needs — the skin on our heads is still skin after all. We might think that only dry, brittle hair is in need of a targeted treatment, but that's not true. I’ve done a lot of research, that tea tree oil, peppermint oil, and lavender essential oils are some of the most amazing ingredients used in hair masks for oily hair that can balance your scalp's natural oils and even relieve dandruff and itching for healthier hair. LUSETA TEA TREE OIL HAIR MASK, which I’ve been using for years. THIS PRODUCT IS MAGIC!!! I found this product at Macy’s just wanted to try it to see if I would like it & let me tell you that if I see it now I buy it without hesitation. This leaves your hair feeling fresh. YES! You actually feel your hair feel fresh and clean. I leave it on my hair for about 5-10 minutes then wash and put the leave in the conditioner. I can honestly say that this product has brought my hair back to life! I highly recommend it! LUSETA BEAUTY - Tea Tree & Argan Oil Hair Mask It provides rich and deep nourishment into each strand and soft locks. Contains no sulfites alcohol, sulfates, parabens and no silicone, which means it’s totally natural and safe. What’s important, it can remove and absorb surface oils inside and around clogged hair follicles that moisturizes the scalp just enough to relieve it of white flakes. How to use : After cleansing with shampoo, apply generously to damp hair and leave on for up to 5 minutes. Then rinse thoroughly. I do this every other day and finally my dandruff is manageable. Hope this article will be helpful!

Kiehl’s - Extreme hair growth
If you clicked on this post, you are probably suffering from thinning hair or you know someone who have thinning hair or you might be kind of freaking out that you might be losing your hair. No worries, let me share my hair growth story and products that helps me with my concerns. I have a bit thin hair around my hairline that shows through whenever my hair gets longer when I put it back in a bun or pony tail, people can actually kind of see my scalp which is always depressing. Especially when I see myself in a picture, that area specifically catches all my attention. Kiehl's - Amino Acid Shampoo According to dermatologist, this shampoo actually works very well for hair growth especially for people who has alopecia (which is genetical). I do have a friend who have used this system and her hair grew back. I used to have thick hair when I was in high school. I suffered terrible hair loss in my last year of college and it suddenly became an issue for me. I tried this system because of my friend and it works well for me. The effect was not immediate but I do see a lot of regrowth on my hairlines. Kiehl's - Amino Acid Conditioner I didn’t noticed much in the first month of trying it, but I got this one on discount in a Duo, so I decided to use it up before buying new ones. It was about 6 months, I started to get compliment on my hair after continuously using this product. I came to notice that my hair does look completely different than last year. It was shiny, full, and glory. I also feel that my scalp is healthier. I believe this products is one of the lines that does what it says. I agree it is a little bit expensive, but that’s because they put in all of the right ingredients to help you have thicker and more luscious hair.

My Mental Wellness Improved Through My Self AcceptanceWhen I was around 13 or 14 years old, I remember routinely taking one of my older sister’s black eyeliner pencils before school every morning. I’d arrive early so that I could slip away to the girl’s bathroom to apply a single black line to my eyelids. My parents didn’t allow me to wear any makeup at the time. Although this smudgy line on my eyelids didn’t make me look all that much different, I never felt comfortable at school without it. My teenage mind convinced myself that I needed some sort of cosmetic symbol in order to appropriately express my femininity. Up until that point in my life, society had told girls that looked like me - tall, Black, and with kinky hair - that we somehow weren’t as beautiful as the other girls. For far too long, I believed it too.Feb. 17
